Thick-crusted rectangular pizzas, frozen spritzes, and retro decor
"De La Nonna’s string-lit patio in the Arts District is full of big groups, clinking glasses, and the smell of crispy pepperoni cups. A DJ spins house tracks in the corner, and buttery, brown-edged Sicilian-style pizzas are the centerpiece of every table. No matter how many people you’re with (or how many will stroll in late), all ordering is done at the front counter, and the friendly staff will make sure that everyone in your party has a seat. Without fail, this pie spot in the Arts District brings fun and ease back to pizza parties." - brant cox
"More than just an open-air Arts District spot with a subtle party atmosphere, De La Nonna is also pretty affordable. The best deal at this counter-service spot is the $75 “Nonna Pack” special that runs Tuesday through Thursday—it comes with two 12-inch pizzas, a caesar salad, and a bottle of wine. One order of this deal could easily satisfy a group of four, and no one would have to overthink their order. Without the special, De La Nonna’s thick, rectangular pies are about $20 each. They’re a good size for up to two people and come loaded with fresh-from-the-farmers-market pizza toppings like roasted fennel and fresh pesto." - brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder

After dinner, head straight to dancefloor at The Let’s Go (a 1970s-themed bar right next door) where you can dance to a DJ set under spinning disco balls." - nikko duren
"De La Nonna in Arts District feels like a pizza dinner on the verge of turning into a full-blown dance party. Its string-lit patio is full of big groups, clinking glasses, and a DJ spinning house tracks if you care to dance between rounds of pizza. The Sicilian-style pan pies come with a light, airy crust sprinkled with flaky salt, and while they don’t overload it with toppings, you still get plenty of flavor from them. Some of our favorites include the white pie, with roasted fennel, mozzarella, and dabs of pesto, and the Market pie, with a super-herbaceous cream sauce and crispy parmesan." - sylvio martins, brant cox, garrett snyder
"After drawing crowds to parking lots across LA, this former pan pizza pop-up settled into a permanent spot in the Arts District in 2021. The thick-crusted square pies are the restaurant’s specialty, topped with the likes of pepperoni, roasted mushrooms, and Japanese sweet potatoes. The larger space has also allowed the restaurant to expand its menu with dishes like whipped eggplant dip and blistered shishito peppers. With a full cocktail menu, plus wine and beer, it’s easy to find the perfect drink to pair with any pie here." - Rebecca Roland
