Best Italian Food in Newton’s Nonantum Village | Eater Boston

"If a store stays open in the food business for 10 years, it’s fair to say it’s done pretty well. DePasquale’s has been doing its thing in Nonantum for even longer: This family-run meat market celebrated its centennial a couple of years ago, and it’s still pumping out handmade sausages and other salumeria essentials. Stop by the sibling shop on Adams Street to taste the sausages on fresh Italian loaves. Pro tip: Ask for a drizzle of the imported, small-batch balsamic vinegar to cut through the rich, porky goodness. DePasquale’s is open for in-store shopping." - Tommy Ranucci

Love this place love the products. You have not had a chinese sausage until you have had one from here. The smell when you walk in reveals the authenticity of all the quality they deliver. Every time i go out of state my friends make me bring these with....and i certainly don't complain about it

Bought the tomato and Basil sausage for a dish I was making. Just unbelievable. Another dish with their cheese and jalapeno sausage, tender, no grisly fat you get from supermarket products. Also had the breakfast sausage the next morning, delicious, like what you would get at a high end restaurant. They also have a great selection of dried pastas, fresh cheese, bulk ravioli's and farm fresh eggs that are great with their breakfast sausage. .

My father has been going here for years and the sausages, ground beef, everything has always been 5 star, have never had a single complaint. I stopped in with my father for the first time in a year and got treated with the highest level of respect. If you’re ever in Newton i advise you stop in, you won’t regret it.

Their Chinese sausage has synthetic/artificial red dye in it. Artificial dyes, especially RED, contain carcinogens, which are cancer causing. Artificial food dye is flavorless, and is a completely unnecessary ”ingredient” to add to food. I was shocked when I recently saw the label. This is such a shame and I will miss being able to enjoy these.

DePasquale's sausages are THE BEST on the planet. I've been enjoying them since fifth grade at Newton Catholic Elementary School. I buy five pound boxes of the sweet and the Chinese style because only getting one of their amazing sausage & provolone with tomato sauce subs once in a while is not enough. Steve & family have done outstanding work keeping the consistency and quality exceptional all these years. If you have not already tried them, you need to!

I have been going there for years and when I want the best Chinese Sausage available anywhere, I go to De Pasquale's. The Chinese Sausage in your generic grocery stores could not even come close to the sausages sold here. Just like eating boneless spare ribs. Their other products are awesome as well. The pasta's and ravioli's are tremendous. It is worth the trip from anywhere if you want quality at a reasonable price.

Never cease to amaze me how delicious these sausages are, I’m 61, and remember my grandpa Fred Boudrot, bringing them home and my grandma Betty putting them in her spaghetti sauce on Wednesdays spaghetti night. Will definitely be enjoying these for the next few weeks.

I enjoyed the various cuts of meat and the sausage I purchased here on multiple different occasions, until I went without my white fiancé for the first time one day and was treated very poorly, as if I was on the verge of stealing whenever I looked at anything, as well as being followed out of the store. I don’t feel comfortable going back, which is a shame, because they do have really excellent sausages, and I was a frequent patron up until this incident.
