"De Quay, Chicago’s only Dutch-Indonesian restaurant, is closing at the end of July after more than three years in Lincoln Park. The Eurasian restaurant is shuttering on July 29, according to a Facebook post. The restaurant opened in May 2015 at 2470 N. Lincoln Avenue, and the owners have battled a competitive market to try to keep their doors open." - Ashok Selvam

Among a sea of pub food restaurants this one is a diamond. Sat at the bar which is often the best seat in house and it sure was. The bartender was friendly, funny, informative and made some amazing drinks. Went during restaurant week and had the 3 course special. The food was spot on. Amazing flavors and pairings. The desert liquor pairings were mind blowing.

I really wanted to love this place but it didn't quite live up to expectations. The bartender was very nice and helpful in choosing a wine. I tried both of the Rieslings they had but they were both too acidic and dry for my taste. The gouda dumplings were just ok. I've had better. The chicken sate was fatty and should have been cooked a bit more to burn off the fat. The fries were very good and I am not a huge fan of fries in general. The herb may dipping sauce was great. My favorites were the gouda mashed potatoes (excellent) and the cauliflower gouda fondue - I would go back just to have that again! My husband got the Nasi Goreng (fried rice). He said the pork belly was fatty and boring and the rice was very spicy. He likes spicy food but wasn't impressed with the dish. It eas just spicy fried rice. We tried the almond spekkok for dessert which was unique and tasty but not amazing. The bill was quute expensive. Everything was priced higher than it should have been. This is an interesting place with some unique flavors but definitely didn't make it into our favorites list.

Food was terrific, the cheese dumplings were incredible and the wine list was stellar. The manager in charge of the wine program clearly takes pride in it. The restaurant was very busy but service was spectacular from start to finish. Polished but not fussy, I couldn't have been happier. The sausage in the lamb duo is one of the best things I've eaten this year. And all mashed potatoes must have goat Gouda from now on. My only complaint is with the fondue, the corn flavor nearly overwhelmed the cheese, but I enjoyed it.

Great food and great service. I had the duck which was fresh, tender, and flavorful. My wife had the short ribs which she enjoyed. The staff was very attentive. We could test the wine before having a whole glass. We walked in at 6 without reservations and the place quickly filled up. A great place to go before a show at the Apollo.

Closer to 3.5/5 than a 3/5. Quality of food was 4/5 and was tasty. Quite a bit of the food was cold when it reached us and portion sizes of the mains were extremely small. Basically tapas sized. Value was 3/5. Atmosphere is tired/quaint/cozy 3/5. Service was attentive, but they didn't have any idea which person at our table ordered which dish because staff work all the tables together 3.5/5. With some minor tweaks this place could be an overall 4/5. Would I go out of my way to come here? No. Would I eat here again if I was nearby? Sure.

Great staff, great food, very nice ambience. A little gem, with fantastic, unique but approachable food offerings; both small plates and mains. Solid cocktail offerings and a very good, affordable set of wine choices with a rotating by the glass list.

Seriously — an amazing restaurant experience. Every aspect - the wine, the apps, the entree, and dessert — All exceptional. The service complimented how great the food was. I will 100 percent be coming back here. I loved it and may have become one of my favorites in all of Chicago.

Might be the best Lincoln Park Restaurant I have ever been to. The sommelier was able to point me to the exact wine I wanted and was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the evening. It was fine dining but relaxed. The ambiance was great and the food was better. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The lamb was out of this world.
