Death Avenue? More like Death to My Wallet—great food, but my bank account needed CPR afterward! Death Avenue has a great vibe, and the food and drinks definitely deliver on quality and taste. The menu offers a nice variety, and everything we ordered was well-prepared and flavorful. The cocktails, in particular, were a highlight—unique and expertly crafted. That said, the prices were surprisingly steep for what you get. While the experience was enjoyable overall, it’s hard to ignore the cost when compared to similar spots in the area. If you're looking to splurge a bit, it’s worth checking out, but keep the price tag in mind when planning your visit.

Had an amazing experience! Was browsing on maps looking for a good place to eat when I came across this restaurant. Made reservation so recommend it for sure to skip the line. Our waitress Alejandra was very helping and attentive! Food was really good!!! Got the pepper smash burger which was delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Fellas if you’re looking for a romantic ambiance, definitely come here! Overall, 10/10 experience. Will be coming back

Came here before 5pm & it was so quiet, loved the atmosphere. Very romantic & dainty. Our waitress Alejandra was so attentive & kind. Highly recommend the Moscow mule & grilled shrimp mini tacos.

Fantastic service! Carly was really friendly and attentive. She had great recommendations and put a lot of effort into meeting our requests if we asked for something different. We never had to wait a long time or wave anyone down for help.

Henry was amazing ! Great patience with helping us choose from the menu and his service was 100% he has a great hospitable personality. Will definitely be coming back!!

Food was absolutely delicious! Very intimate seating for dinner. I am gluten free and asked about gluten free buns for burgers but they did not have any. I ordered a dish, but I was told there could be cross contamination so may not be best place for celiac. The outdoor area looked fun.

Pretty fancy cocktail spot near Hudson Yards. Went here for a happy hour with coworkers and was disappointed in the chips (oily and crumbly) that were served with some dips (none were especially amazing). Later, we got some fries as there weren’t many vegetarian options. The servers and bartender were incredible though and the atmosphere was relaxed.

The atmosphere great… The staff so kind and attentive with us…. Drinks 10/10 in special the Cherry Negroni… Food was really good, everyone enjoy their meal, but me i enjoy this sausage mini souvlakis, my colleague enjoyed their moussaka, lamb shank and Hellenic bbq Thank you death ave and Marcella and Death ave team for a great night!

I stopped off here as a matter of convenience--it was right down the street from the McKittrick Hotel, where I was going for another stab at the soon-to-close "Sleep No More." This restaurant is mostly Greek, maybe Greek fusion. They have a whole section of smash burgers (feta zest, Swiss mushroom, American bacon, cheddar pepper), as well as sandwiches like baby back rib-wich and fried chicken. They also have lamb chops, skirt steak skewers, moussaka, pasta Santorini, and a section of "ocean bites," or halibut skewers, eight-hour octopus, calamari, and coconut shrimp. I chose the Hellenic BBQ from the entree section. This dish is pricier, 52 dollars, and is served with either steak, lamb chops, halibut, or jumbo shrimp. It is accompanied by grilled zucchini and cauliflower and Greek fries. I chose the steak, medium. While a little fatty, the flavors were AWESOME! I don't know what kind of seasoning they used, but it was delicious and unusual. The cauliflower and zucchini were grilled perfectly. And while I am not a shoestring fry fan, these were seasoned well and were REAL Greek fries. They were more than just fries with feta thrown on top. The food: excellent. The drinks weren't the best I've ever had. The basil gimlet was a little sweet. The mastiha mint was essentially a mojito, but not bad. The Prosecco crush was pretty good. I am not regretful I had these drinks, but come here for the food and atmosphere, save the drinks as an afterthought. Service was impeccable. I was sat in a quiet, sexy little space with faded wood and pretty blue curtains. I had a view of the outside courtyard, in which others were enjoying their drinks and conversation. My server was soft-spoken, attentive, and lovely. I wish I knew his name, but it's not on my receipt. He was working on 4/15/24 and I was cashed out at 6:23 PM. He also provided me with a complimentary desert, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and some type of small chocolate cake, almost like a fig cake. It was a much appreciated gesture, above and beyond! I don't go to mid-town/Chelsea often, but if I ever find myself back in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to come here. Great mood, great service, a vibe, a mood.

I stopped by Death Ave for some drinks with a friend. It was a really nice day out, so we were able to sit in the back/courtyard area, which wasn't actually fully set up yet, but was a cool area nevertheless. The staff was really accommodating, making sure to check on us in the outdoor area. Not going to lie, I'd prefer to go to a happy hour spot, since paying upwards of $20 for a drink feels like quite the ripoff, but I still had an enjoyable time. I didn't get the chance to try any food, but the drinks drinks were pretty standard. I'd recommend coming by when the courtyard area is in full swing!

Came in for a drink and was totally"wowed" by this place. Gorge interiors, awesome service and beautifully decorated. HH M-F so we will be back!

I stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night around 9pm and it wasn't too busy to be able to get a table for 2. We got one of these cute private booths in the corner and it was adorable. Our food and drinks were really good. The Zucchini Shrimp Fresca was so light and refreshing with just the right amount of flavor in the sauce. Highly recommend for a date night!

Was looking for a spot for lunch today & posted menu looked good. Stopped in- had the fried chicken sandwich which was served with fries. Happy to get a great sandwich and fries that were some of the best- thin & crispy with perfect amount of salt. If in the area again would not hesitate to go back to try one of the Greek inspired dishes and a featured cocktail. Only con for me was that it was a little dark inside and seats at high top tables had no backs, so not the most comfortable for me.

Truffle parmesan fries and cocktails.... uhm yes please. Both great hang out spot for a group or meet up with friends or even alone, this place delivers on food and service. It is hard to not want to consume all of the fries. There is some sort of barbecue bit with it, ditch that as it reads a bitter note but if that flips your lid then disregard.

So ... it was exciting to come here with a 4.6 star review ... however, as an industry individual (I work at an Italian restaurant in E Williamsburg) - coming in on a Monday night around 6pm, we were seated behind the scenes in the back with no music or ambience (while the front of house was empty). The drinks were fine, maybe slightly above average pricing. The food was good, again, maybe more pricey than needed to be. And the service .. completely hands down. With no one in the restaurant, and pushing us to the back with no ambience.... Hands down. Service was poor. I was hoping for more, but I would I honestly say skip this place and go to other options within the area. Until they figure out the true meaning of hospitality ... wait. Sorry.

I wasn't expecting this bar to have the caliber of cocktails that they do. I understood this place to be a brewery and was surprised to see many beers from other locations. I assumed they were have more brews of their own highlighted. Regardless, the cocktails were fantastic. Well made with a lot of intentionality. A great choice on a hot day to relax and get a break from the rain and heat outside. The drinks were delicious and worth the stop if you're in the area.

This Greek influenced bar is easily a place you will be back for more! The house made pita chips were light and not hard like most pita chips are made. Soft enough to scoop from their house-made appetizers and not leave you with a chipped tooth haha. I was not thrilled with their Fried Pickle Chips. I think they tried too hard here. The batter was thick yet tasty. It held the pickle chip and its flavor well, but the chip was a thicker cut. This is no good. A thicker chip will hold the pickle juices and it will not fry well and get crispy. Therefore, when you take a bite, the hot juices will burn your mouth. The highlight for me was their Lamb Chops... sooooo good!!! Mouth watering, cut just right, meaty, flavorful, juicy. I am craving some right now. They were so good that I didn't even feel the need to dip them into the chimichuri sauce it came with.

This restaurant was a last resort because I couldn't get a table for 9 anywhere else in Hudson Yards. The only other place that was willing to accommodate me wanted a $1000 minimum! (I won't mention them). Ultimately, it was a huge favor because we got an amazing table, amazing food, and great service. The waitress was very attractive, and the table was private. The place was dark and gave a feeling that was honest to the name. The food was amazing. Best was the pulled pork sliders. Baby lamb chops were also good. There was only one dessert option but it was spectacular (fig bread pudding with vanilla ice cream). We are a ton and was extremely reasonable. Can't wait to go back, hopefully with a big party again.

Nice atmosphere, exotic privacy curtained off rooms... your enemies will never find you. Nice service too with huge and tasty hamburgers. BUT, come on Yelp, two dollar signs? I had the cheapest main dish (sausage... 4 tiny slices), 1 side and two beers. My bill with tax and tip came to over $100. I'd recommend it, and gladly go back if someone else were picking up the tab.

Good drinks with a unique spin on Greek food. FOOD: I got the steak souvlaki minis (aka. Greek tacos), came with fries. Food was decent, although a bit messy. Taste-wise was decent, nothing too amazing but a tad pricey for what you get. DRINKS: Had the Fig Julep and Death Ave Tea. Fig Julep was absolutely delicious--highlight of the night for me. Think an old fashioned but with a hint of sweet fig. The Death Ave Tea was refreshing, but a bit light; very easy to drink. VIBE: Came in on a Sunday night, place was quite empty but I enjoyed the vibe overall. Staff was friendly and service was great. SCORE: 3/5 - Enjoyed the food and loved the drinks, would come back if I were in the area.

Lovely and soft lighting made my dinner experience feel cozy. The wood decor and vintage furniture was the perfect look. I had the chicken mini souvlaki with fries and an old fashion. The dish came with 4 and was super happy I wasn't left starving for more. It was delicious and packed just right topped with a creamy yogurt cucumber sauce. (I licked my fingers). The fries were slim crispy and hot (perfection). My drink was perfect for a cold winters night. The service was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed myself and will return to dip more into the menu and see what the warmer months brings.

Love the vibes at Death Ave, it felt almost medieval! The food was also so yummy. I recommend the mezze platter and eggplant tacos. But most of all, I recommend the sangria- it was delicious! It's not the biggest restaurant so I recommend coming with a small group (4 or less) for a nice dinner. The outdoor area looked very nice as well.

Came here for drinks and dinner with coworkers on a Thursday and we had no trouble making a reservation. The place is a bit dark and the layout a little odd but a nice place where you can have conversations and actually hear each other. They have happy hour drinks and food until 6:30. We ordered the Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, pork sliders and truffle fries from the happy hour menu. I would recommend all of them except the truffle fries since they weren't anything special and a bit soggy. For entrees we ordered the souvlaki chicken tacos, cod tacos and steak tacos. There's 3 per order and they're pretty filling. I personally liked the chicken tacos the best because the chicken was tender, well seasoned and there was a large portion of them. Overall, we had a good experience here! Our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. We stayed almost 3 hours and were appreciative of not being rushed.

I had been here two years before for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed myself, so when I was invited for happy hour I was more than excited. Food / Drink (5/5) - good selection of wines and spirits, have not really tried their cocktails. Even the bar food was fairly well curated - we had a set of beef and chicken tacos. The chicken was really well marinated and the pear puree topping on top of the steak tacos was unusual and refreshing. Other than that, the calamari and coconut breaded shrimp were all very well done, plus the different sauces!! So great - there was a pesto-like one, a barbecue one that was a little more tangy, and one final one that was reminiscent of gochujang. Brunch, back when i came here, was also a similar selection of interestingly plated and designed dishes. Expect to discover something new / unexpected here! Ambiance (7/5) - we managed to get space at the back patio, which was a nice sanctuary rimmed with fairy lights, wood bar tables and seating. If you looked up, you saw the winking skyscrapers and the high line. It was a very beautiful place for an evening. Service (4/5) - taking a point off because service was slower than I remembered at the happy hour, but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and I didn't remember this being a problem last time I was here. Could've easily been due to an off day. Pricing (4/5) - Definitely on the higher side here but would say that this is fair for the experience and quality. All in all, I had a great experience here. Definitely a good place to bring people for drinks, and also a great first date spot!

came by for a late lunch on a weekday and it was mostly empty. the space is actually bigger than it looks when you first walk in and there's even a little patio space in the back. i had the cod sandwich, which i'm torn about. the cod itself was cooked so well, not overcooked in the slightest. if anything, slightly undercooked, which is the way i like it. and so many place will overcook it until it's too dry, but this was perfect. that being said, somehow the whole sandwich lacked flavor and seasoning. some salt and extra sauce would have been nice. the bread was nice and crusty. the fries came with were thin and exactly how i like them. i'd be back to try other sandwiches, or maybe the cod dish, not the sandwich.

Stopped in here just to grab a quick drink on the way to another place. We walked in around 2pm and there were plenty of places to sit at the bar. The bartender/server wasn't the warmest person. He said very little words but not because he was being mean I just don't think it's his style. The drinks were fine, pretty standard nothing mind blowing or anything. Location is fantastic and the place itself is very nice. Lots of nooks and street seating along with back area seating.

Belated bar-area drinks review only. Oh lawwwwwwwd, this place is sexy. Like slumber party at the Victoria's Secret dressing room sexy. If it were any sexier, it would literally be made out of lace. You've got your exposed brick, your candle lights, your wine displays, and your quiet music. I would come here to read if it weren't so dark! Anyway, the famous Black Ink Martini is delicious and doesn't at all taste like seafood pasta (which is also delicious in another way. We also liked the Death Ave Tea and Sangria. So if you're looking for a sexy spot to get in the mood for sexytimes (and can't afford Viagra), may I humbly suggest the Death Ave bar? Please excuse me while I go fan myself.

Walking around Manhattan and decided to stop in for some drinks. Easy ordering at your table, responsive staff, and excellent decor. I ordered an "Older - Fashioned" and truly enjoyed it. Perfectly mixed and smooth. Not sure what bourbon they used, I was told it was a house bourbon, but excellent none-the-less. I definitely recommend Death Ave for their drinks and service!

We stopped in for a drink and stayed for some delicious food. Rita was very accommodating and sweet. The atmosphere was cozy on a cold day. We will definitely pop in again soon.

Cute place, we sat in one of their booths which was really cozy and private. We weren't too hungry, so we ordered the lamb chops and the skirt steak skewers, both were great. The waiter warned us they were on the smaller side, but it was perfect for a light snack.

I organized a medium-sized work event here and the garden patio is beautiful and comfortable. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the drinks were also tasty.

Made reservations through OpenTable. Came here to grab drinks and quick bites with a few friends. They don't do happy hours anymore. I got the skinny margarita and really liked it! My friend got the old fashioned, which was strong but still well balanced in taste. For food, we tried the lamb chops- they were delicious! The truffle fries were great. We also tried the Greek style chicken tacos, which were not bad. The cheese plate is average, not the best. Service is fast. They do have a great intimate area in the back for dinner- great place for a date! Overall we had a great time.

Went for a team lunch and food was really meh. Seating there is tricky. It is all in lind of "booths " which is noce for covid precaution, but they fix max 7people with an extra chair at one of the ends (pretty cramped) Each of us had a course and only one finished it. Toast are pretty small, basically like 4-5 crostinis with something on the top, one had like beans toast and another girl had avocado toast. More as an appetizer. Two of us got the feta burger. Portion was big but tbh nothing special, the meat was rather tasteless and dry. One girl got the cretan salad with chicken and the last two girls chicken club sandwich and the veggie sandwich... pretty meh as well. I think we will just stick to HH and aps

Did you know that 10th avenue in Manhattan used to be call Death Ave? The train line that used to run on street level and killed more than 600 people no longer runs but you can still visit it. This restaurant is named after the infamous street it's located on and well worth the visit. When you first come in, you are greeted with the industrial design. Dim lighting from the Edison bulbs hung over the bar set the mood for this place. There's a bar and a few tables in the front. There's 2 booths towards the back and extra room with seating as well. We got seated in the front by the bar. The bar has a few kegs on the wall. I wish I had time to go next door to their tap room but next time! I ordered the Donkey, a cocktail that had ginger infused vodka, like juice and ginger beer. I've been going through a ginger kick so this was perfect. I normally don't like eggplant but this moussaka was to die for. It came layered with braised eggplant, zucchini, sausage, tomato gravy, manouri cheese and bechamel sauce. It was so moist and delicious. The sauce definitely brought it all together. I definitely recommend this to anyone who comes here. I got the Feta Burger which included 12oz of grass fed beef, barrel feta, greens, tomatoes and onions on a brioche bun. The feta was cut into a huge slab and placed right on the burger. The feta really brought the flavor to this burger. The beef patty itself was juicy and we'll seasoned. Overall it was one of the taller burgers I've had and totally fell apart after a bit. I am pretty bad at eating burgers without them falling apart in general so I don't blame this burger. I loved it but it was a bit too much for me so I packed half to go. Even when I heated it up the next day, it was still delicious! The burger came with oregano fries which well thinly sliced and crispy. This is my favorite style of fries and were a great way to round off this meal. The oregano seasoning was there but not overwhelming so I was happy with eating it alone or with ketchup. I really enjoyed my meal here and would love to come back to try more of the food and to try more of their drinks. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and just knowing the history of this infamous street really lends to the restaurant atmosphere.

A good overall experience the restaurant may be more popular for their subterranean boutique bar and 2,000 square foot outdoor garden for drinks and ding. My experience was probably closer to 3.5 stars although I gave them 4 stars as I can see it being much better. If I had a different server and left off the pasta dish. The service was good not great, waitress was not familiar with all the dishes or options. She was nice although just did the basics. 2 of the 3 dishes ordered were excellent! The Chicken Souvlaki Tacos had one of the best flavors in any Souvlaki I've eaten. You get three tacos amd they are filling. The Shared spreads were also excellent with warm homemade pita chips. Some made find it a little pricey at $28. I did not really like the Macaronia Fresca which was a shrimp and pasta with a light red sauce. The shrimp was good although there was too much pasta and not enough sauce. The dish was dry and not flavorful. Prices for most dishes were fair, the runner was more attentive and knowledgeable than our server. I would recommend them if you are looking for a nice hangout or romantic date spot for drinks. If you stay with the basic Mediterranean dishes you will be very happy.

We were a group of four that had just left a craft beer festival from Chelsea Industrial and they wouldn't serve us because they felt that in the past someone ordered and left. The place was empty and they wouldn't take our order even of we prepaid. They were extremely rude and as will never go back to them again.

I had heard about this place and really wanted to like it, unfortunately our experience was pretty underwhelming. We entered this afternoon to grab a few drinks and enjoy the A/C. It wasn't busy so we had our choice of tables but we opted to stay inside. We scanned the bar code to view the menu and each picked a different drink. When the server came to take our order, he stopped my friend partway through to let us know that out of the list, there were only 3 beers on tap. I ordered the Prosecco crush and my friends ordered beer. We enjoyed our first round of drinks noticed that it was after 4pm and we could start getting Happy hour prices. My friend wanted to order a little food so he asked about the Byzantine Sausage on the Happy Hour menu. Our server said he was new and that he would check to make sure they were still doing it. We waited a bit but he didn't come back to our table so we kind of assumed he just put the order through. Maybe 20 mins after ordering we asked another server about the sausage, she went back to the kitchen to check on it and then came back apologetically saying it would be 2-3 more minutes. Perfect! A few minutes later she comes back and says that there isn't a ticket for sausage. We tried to explain the situation and she informed us that they got rid of the Happy Hour menu a year ago. Fortunately there was the Byzantine Sausage on the regular menu so he just ordered that. The sausage came out pretty quickly, but I think it's super cheeky of them to charge $17 for a sausage cut into 4 pieces. Overall the experience felt a little like bait and switch. They have you scan to look at a menu that doesn't exist and no indication that they only offer 3 beers. Our bill for 6 drinks and 1 sausage was $100, which I guess isn't ridiculous, it just feels overpriced for what you're getting.

I went here after seeing some recommendations on TikTok but kinda disappointed to see there was no happy hour and drinks were wayyyy too expensive for the way they tasted. Def could not come back here

This place has awesome decor and pretty solid service. The menu looked good but we weren't terribly impressed with the food. The cocktails that we ordered looked great on paper but didn't quite deliver when we got them. The lamb chops were a bit over cooked but the lamb shank was pretty much flawless, I would strongly recommend that dish if you came here. The dessert options are limited but worth a look if you're here already.

Death Ave is an interesting name and we were sure to ask the waiter why it was called that. It is because there was a train track near the restaurant where people would sometimes be hit by trains. This is how it got the name. I didnt fact check this story but it sounded good. Anyway, the place is cool. It is in an area where not much else is around. That is a good thing because it is a cool restaurant/bar. They have the hudson yards being built soon so that should increase food traffic even more. We started with the Loukanika sliders which is a greek word for sausage. These were pretty good. They had great flavor and the sausage tasted homemade. We also enjoyed the wine they had. The restaurant overall is not cheap so come expecting to spend $$. I also ordered the burger which was not my favorite but not bad. The cheese was overpowering and the burger overall was not proportioned correctly. The pickles were too big compared to the meat and the flavors overall clashed. We also started with the cheese plate. When the cheese plate arrived they didnt explain the cheeses to us and although I am greek we knew some of the cheeses but not all. Overall, it was a cool spot but remember this wont be a cheap date. Did the price match the experience? I think so but I probably won't be a regular here. It was a good experience and they have a lot of the greek classics on the menu but I would probably come back for a drink more than the food.

The outside of this place says "Death Ave Brewing Company", my wife and I went in to try their beers. The only beers they had available were common beers made by other breweries. If you're called a brewing company and you're not serving beer that you make in-house then I'd call that false advertising. I will say that they did have their homemade beer listed on the menu so it's something they had at some point but when I was here, no such option was available. Pretty unacceptable for a "brewery". I'd prefer they remove the word brewery from their building and promotional materials and stick with calling themselves a gastropub who occasionally may offer a beer they make themselves.

Solid spot for drinks if you can get a seat or standing room in the backyard patio. We ordered fries with aioli and a standard set of drinks (beers, cocktails, sodas for nonalcoholics). While we occupied one table in the back, the other three were taken from what looked like a happening tech company party or birthday celebration for a distinguished professional. Food was catered there that looked great. Worth checking out, we came after some good times on the Frying Pan and it was a good change of scenery. They have a billboard that extends waaaaaaayyyyy up to highlight the backyard patio exists to walkers on the Highline.

Decided to try Death Ave not because of the name but because the menu promised a Greek vibe. Instead, it bills itself as a tap room, but --no brews from the restaurant right now --no Greek spreads at brunch (though it was 1:30 on a Saturday) --friendly but slow service The likeliest items for us were lentil soup (tasty and prettily arranged in a rectangular bowl) and cod tacos, three for $33. The cod wasn't all that fresh, and it was paired with guacamole, which really wasn't a happy marriage. Calling it a form of souvlaki didn't make it any more Greek.

This spot blends Mediterranean/Greek with American. My partner and I were in the city and in dire need of food after building up an appetite exploring the Chelsea neighborhood. It was around 4pm and the place we wanted to go originally had a line and wasn't open for another hour. We went in and were seated despite seeing that they too were not technically open til 5pm. The place was quiet and only one other group of people with reservations came while we were there. Service was attentive and efficient. We had two rounds of drinks and our meals- pulled pork sandwich and steak tacos. The steak was cut in thick strips and was delicious. I could have done with a little less sauce but that's personal preference. This place overall was like a cute, quiet oasis amongst the busy bustle of the city and I would come here again.

Tasty food but quite pricey. Ironically, cocktails were well priced but not tasty. Ambiance is nice and it seems like a good place for a last minute meet up for large groups. Bad D to D ratio (Delicious to Dollar)

They have a great booth area we used. The house infused margarita was very good. The food was definitely good, the fires and the lamb chops.

Note this is for the bar/communal table side. Heads up, some receipts come with the tip already included and some don't. Maybe it's only for food items because they serve food to you? Either way, the owner reached out when we had a mishap, was super polite about everything and helped resolve the tip confusion. Food is good and drinks were strong, plenty of seating as well on a calm Friday night. With the great service, I'll be back!

This place has such potential First of all let me say that the beer is really damn good. but its also really damn expensive. 9.80$ for one 12oz beer? I mean, even for NYC that is pretty steep you guys. The ambiance of the place would be solid enough, with the large bar, cozy looking booths and back yard space, but there were flies everywhere when we were hanging at the bar. really not a good look for a place that serves food, they should do something about this. The staff seemed friendly enough,and were happy to refill our water glasses as we perused the menu while sipping ultra expensive beers. The food menu looks solid as well, but as I said I can't imagine eating at a place that has so many flies flying about. All and all, I don't think I'll be back, for the same price point I can have a few beers on a rooftop.

This place seemed like a good spot based on the Yelp reviews. But boy were we mistaken! Wife ordered a basic bacon, egg, and cheese on focaccia bread and I the chicken tacos. My tacos were pretty good, if not a little unsure if they were more Greek or more Mexican. But my wife's bacon was barely cooked pieces of fat, there was no cheese to be discovered, and she ended up eating maybe part of the egg. How can you mess up such a basic sandwich! The service was very poor on this Sunday afternoon and there was hardly a crowd. Buyer beware!

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't special considering the prices! They had no brewed beer and the beer they served was nothing real special, served in a small glass, not a pint, and was over priced for Nyc! Our waitress was great though!

We were in the area for the art walk and wanted a nice place to rest our feet. Pay attention to which establishment you are walking in as they have a bar on the corner with lots of TVs and then right next door is the restaurant​ which is what we desired. I had the divine Older Fashion. I sipped on it throughout my meal because I didn't want it to end and knew I did not need another drink. My hubby had a typical gin and tonic. There were many options from the dinner menu that we were interested in, but decided​ the wild cod sliders and 8-hour​ octopus would be the most satisfying options​ for sharing. We were nicely surprised​ when they brought us four grilled wild cod sliders. The buns were toasted and yet soft with a spicy scallion ​aioli sauce. The 8-hour octopus was excellent. They say it was slowly braised in an earth-oven (would like to see it) for 8 hours and then flash grilled, so it was tender, and you could cut it with your butter knife. They give you a steak knife, but it is not required. It was served​ over a yummy bean melody.

Lovely spot in an area that was once a desert. We only stopped in for beers and were not lead astray by the bartender recommendations. With that said, I don't recall what I ordered but was nonetheless happy with it. They did have a few beers out of stock but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The decor is nice and they really leaned into utilizing the wonderful natural lighting as offered by their location. It seems to be like it would make for a great date spot. We stopped here before our showing of Sleep No More, which is right around the block. When I first saw SNM years ago, there were no bars in the area! I suppose with all of the redevelopment and revitalization of the area (ahem Hudson Yards/The Vessel) there's been a bolster in establishments in the area in general as well. I hope to come back here and try some bites on their menu and seeing what else the bartender can recommend.

I had my birthday dinner at Death Ave with some friends, and we had a nice time. We got some cocktails & shared some of the bites off the dinner menu. My one friend & I ordered the Jalapeno Margarita ($14) and was warned by the waitress that it is VERY spicy. We both said, "Oh, we like spice!"..... It was the spiciest margarita we have ever had in our lives! The waitress also said they make their own jalapeno-infused tequila, which is pretty neat. The drink was delicious, but I could only handle one. So then I tried one of their home brewed beers, Mr. English ($10), their Amber Ale, which was absolutely delish! In terms of food, we ordered the following to share (ranked from most to least favorite): -Traditional Style Chicken Tacos ($24) -Fried Calamari ($18) -Grilled Vegetables ($12) -Skirt Steak Skewers ($24) -Fries Troufes ($14) Everything was tasty, but I do not think the prices reflect the quality of the food. Chicken tacos for $24..... IDK. Also, although our waitress was very informative, she had a bit of an attitude. If anything, I would come back to grab a beer at the outdoor bar, which looked very chic & fun.

Good dinner spot! I like the ambiance and that we sat in a private booth (one of those you can curtain off if you want, love not having to interact with other humans!). We ordered the sausage souvlaki tacos and they were delicious. Also got the cheese sampler plate and loved it. The lamb bbq platter was just ok so I probably would just stick with the tacos if I returned. The sangria and jalapeño margarita were good as well. Our service was so-so, our girl was almost never around honestly.
