I came here on a Friday evening for dinner with friends at 8:30, we had a reservation and that's highly recommended. To start with, I ordered the Mexican Firing Squad cocktail with reposado tequila. The server was very accommodating with my request for a specific type of tequila. This was delicious, refreshing, such a pretty color, and I reordered it. The carved wood ceiling and low-lit intimate setting gave a speakeasy vibe. If you have vision problems, you will definitely need a light to see the menu. I was so excited for the Mussels dish I saw on social media and it took me forever to find it due to lighting and small writing. I realized it was simply labeled "Gnocchi" on the menu. The P.E.I mussels in this dish threw me off, since the gnocchi has so much flavor and a rich sauce you can see being flamed by the chef on social media. However, the mussels are not included with all this flavor as they seem to be steamed on the side and added afterward. They tasted kind of fishy like the ocean and lacked flavor, considering I love shellfish and seafood this was disappointing for the price. I would call out my favorite dish which was worth ordering as the Seared Scallops. These are gorgeously presented in an Aji Amarillo sauce with sundried tomatoes and the perfect char on each scallop. Lastly, the Jamon pastries were perfect for sharing as we got 3 of them and cut each in half to share between 5 people. These were served piping hot in a delicate puff pastry and super melty cheese. Everyone loved this. I ordered the pastries instead of another dish I really wanted to try, the Pulpo a la parilla, which was suddenly "not available" strangely after the server advised it was an amazing dish and I should order it. Also, they are strict on their 2 hour window for the table as I was about to order more at 9:51 and was told we needed to cash out due to another party coming at 10:30...However, when we left there was no one waiting on the table or at the door so the rush was not necessary considering we were still hungry. I would recommend this place mostly for cocktails and the intimate ambiance on a date. Don't recommend if you're hungry or in no rush, as there's nothing within walking distance to move onto after you are expected to leave. Not to mention, street parking is hard to find here.
