Detroit-style slabs with caramelized-cheese edges inside the Ivywild School. The Gazette called out its Motor City crunch when it landed in town. Easily the best Detroit-style pizza in Colorado Springs, in our opinion. It seems like they’ve been tinkering with their sauce recipe, as it just seemed to have more flavor and body than it did in some of our previous visits. We totally get that Detroit-style may not be everyone’s thing, but we certainly enjoy it. The service was good and the employees have always been very nice to deal with. As far as atmosphere, having a bunch of bars, restaurants, and stores in the old Ivywild school is a pretty good idea. You can find a lot of different things in easy walking distance. So, if you’re ever feeling like trying a different take on pizza, try Detroit-style. Try Decent Pizza Co. We recommend it!

This pizza is amazing. Love the sourdough crust and the pepperoni is fantastic. Ate here twice while in town. Definitely recommend!

I love this place!!! Hands down the best place in town for Detroit style pizza. The crust is always divine- delicious crunchy edges. And the staff is lovely as well- I can always count on them to make my day!! Highly recommend giving this place a try!!

I want to give this 5. I love the idea of Ivywild. But the service at the pizza place was just underwhelming. They seemed “average” level of busy but were completely il equipped to handle it. I can see the pizza oven backed up a dozen or so orders. There was plenty of staff, just people weren’t working together or knowing what to do. So food wasn’t cold, but wasn’t as warm as I would like. Pizza was good.

What up everybody, it’s your girl Plum back with another review. First off, love the concept of this pizza spot. They look just like the little pizzas you would’ve gotten for a school lunch. I got the vegan animal lovers pizza. Delish. Would go back for it every day if I could. An easy 5/5 for me. Boyfriend got the Little Piggies pizza. He rates it a 3 or 4. I’m locking us in at a 4/5 overall. Prices could be lower.

Well we ordered the animal lovers vegan pizza and a build your own with vegan cheese and I realized after the first bite of the byo that it was definitely NOT VEGAN CHEESE! As a strict vegan and having paid extra for vegan cheese to then consume dairy (which I get sick from eating) was really a bummer. My dining partner said oh well and just ate both of the pizzas instead of actually getting it corrected, because their error didn't impact him. Yeah, I know...🙄, but he didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for a tiny square of pizza. But just putting it out there to be careful because ordering and paying extra for vegan doesn't mean that's what you get.

My wife and I were very interested in trying this place when they first opened. We tried it so early, that they didn’t have a Google page setup for it yet to post my review! Now I’m catching up on the places I reviewed and posting the recap of how everything went! When we walked into Ivywild, of course it’s a conglomeration of different restaurants and bars that you could go to. The place is a popular meeting ground for those near downtown or south Colorado Springs. As a result, this place will probably get very busy soon (if they aren’t already)! My wife wanted pizza and I I obliged and we went for something different than the typical NY pizza, but Detroit style. We had no clue until we ordered that this would be Detroit style pizza. I ordered the cheese and she ordered the pepperoni and we had to get cheesy bread. The cheesy bread was more oily than cheesy, but still really good overall. The pizzas were very good and came fresh out of the oven. Very happy to see how “fresh out of the oven” are pizzas were. Their marinara sauce for dipping the bread (and for the pizzas themselves) was the clear standout star of the pizza. Tons of flavor and perfect temperature. Overall, I would happily go back and order the same things. I think it cost relatively around $25-$30 which isn’t bad.

Love the pizza there but the transparency on ingredients should be improved. If someone orders an Animal Lover (the vegan) pizza with a gluten free crust, the customer should be informed that there is gluten containing ingredients in the Vegan pie. If I didn’t do my own research on the ingredients, I could have really gotten sick. Some people have even more intense gluten allergies than I do, it should be the restaurants job to provide information to their customers so we can safely order food at your establishment. Waste of $30.
