"Congratulations, you finally got your friends to commit to a game. Now rather than ask the group where they want to eat beforehand and spark a never-ending text debate, make things simple and tell them to meet you at Declaration. The menu here includes everything from salads and sandwiches to chicken wings and pizza, so everyone will be able to find something they like. This place serves weekend brunch too, in case you want to skip the burnt bacon at home and just head here before a day game. photo credit: Rey Lopez" - Team Infatuation

"Declaration is expanding its presence in D.C. by opening a new, larger location in Navy Yard. The new venue will offer a broader menu with all-day dining options including charcuterie, sandwiches, gourmet pizzas, assorted crostinis, build-your-own charcuterie boards, and expanded sandwich offerings. New menu items include appetizers, entrees like pastas and steak frites, and upgraded dinner options featuring daily fish and chips and new pizzas." - Warren Rojas

"Property developer Grosvenor Americas had a big “oops” moment January 30, erroneously blasting out a press release announcing its tenant Declaration was opening a second eatery this week. The Shaw pizza spot corrected the premature news, telling Eater the restaurant — still very much under construction at 1237 First St SE — won’t open until mid-March." - Tierney Plumb

Got reservations for 5:30 on a Wednesday. Decent crowd, I'm sure during the baseball season this place gets packed. Tables are family-style, but front of house still was kind enough to seat my party of two in our own little section. Waiter also was friendly and helpful. We ordered a pizza, mac and cheese, and some fries to split. Everything came out timely and warm. I will say, I loved the pizza crust, truly was great. Good local beer selection as well. Would come here again for sure.

Pizza was really good and I’ll come here again, but the service was slow. Friendly advice to the establishment. For the love of all beer drinkers, train your staff on how to pour a proper beer. Or, just leave ot for the customer to pour ;)

I come here after work and have not been disappointed! They have a changing menu depending on the time of day and day of the week. Sally is my favorite bartender; she’s always super helpful and bubbly!

Chicken was very good. Meatball hoagie was good. Fries were the best thing on the plate and they are an up-charge- well worth it. Service was less than adequate. Server and managers prefer large parties.

Unique drinks and tasty food! We usually go her before or after a Nats game. It can get crowded but i have never had an issue here. It is a little pricey, but the quality of their food/drinks is up there so it is worth it. Only down side is they do not have a wide selection of beer, but what they do carry is very good.

Good happy hour specials, Nats pre-game spot. Great place to stop in for snacks and drinks before the game. $5 bud cans, and various small plates. The fires cheese, steak and cheese, and personal pizzas.

Excellent place to start off your National’s Baseball experience. Good food, outstanding drinks, wear your game jerseys and possibly get a discount on game day.

Super friendly staff, great happy hour deals each day, and the pizza was fantastic!
