The 14 Best Desserts In Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Most of Austin’s Thai restaurants have mango sticky rice, but we keep going back to Dee Dee’s because of the pact they made with the fruit gods to obtain a steady stream of mango that’s always at peak ripeness. The sticky rice is warm and chewy, and the sweet coconut milk drizzled over the top ties it all together. If you want to maximize your enjoyment, start with some spicy papaya salad before finishing with dessert. Tasting the extremes of spice and sweetness back to back is gratifying." - nicolai mccrary

Best Food Trucks in Austin | Eater Austin

"While this fiery northern Thai trailer has a small menu, every dish packs a lot of flavor and spice, from the laab to the soothing om gai. For dessert, the simple mango and sticky rice does the trick when it’s in season (order online before they run out). Be sure to ask about Mango, the dog, too. Dee Dee is currently located at Radio Coffee (although it will soon relocate to a larger restaurant), offering cocktails, coffee, indoor and patio dining, as well as other food options, including the highly anticipated Briscuits." - Erin Russell

Best Restaurants in Austin, Spring 2025 | Eater Austin

"Chef Lakana Trubiana cooks up a small but mighty Thai menu from this South Lamar neighborhood truck. The flavorful Isan-style dishes (rooted in the northern region of Thailand) range from comforting om gai (chicken in a chili-paste broth) to a very spicy laab moo. During summer’s peak mango season, the mango sticky rice alone makes Dee Dee worth a visit. The truck is located at the coffee shop and bar Radio (at least until its new restaurant Leona opens), so diners can eat indoors or on the patio at the eclectic space, or take food to go. Know before you go: All orders are placed online. Trubiana uses vegetables from her garden in her dishes — ask about canine garden helper Mango." - Erin Russell

The 13 Best Thai Restaurants In Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"One does not simply walk up to Dee Dee—it requires a bit of planning and knowing exactly what you want to eat a few hours ahead of time. This trailer parked at Radio Coffee & Beer in South Austin is available exclusively by pre-order, but with just a little bit of patience and foresight, you’ll be able to eat some of the best papaya salad, moo ping, and laab in town. Due to its outdoor, pre-order nature, Dee Dee is optimized for takeout, or a casual dinner where you can sit on the patio of Radio with an ice-cold pint of something local in an attempt to tame some of the intense spice from your second helping of papaya salad." - nicolai mccrary
