London’s Best Cheese Toasties and Grilled Cheese | Eater London

"Like a Scottish patty melt, the Hamish Macbeth makes use of haggis to provide a spiced, meaty dimension to the classic toastie. The use of granary bread is a departure from the toastie norm but works well with the cheddar, caramelised onions, and smoked bacon. There’s mustard too for that all-important kick. Be warned, however: With spiced offal and cheese comes much richness." - Helen Graves

Discovered Deeney’s at the Morris Gallery today and it was such a lovely surprise. I had the mandarin and chocolate café loaf cake (gluten-free) and an oat milk chai latte — both were delicious, with really well-balanced flavours. Loved being able to sit with my laptop in a calm and welcoming space. So grateful they offer gluten-free options — not always easy to find. I’d definitely come back!

Top Scottish breakfast. Good quality food. Minced haggis was my favourite. Also the Mac Beth toastie was the best toastie I’ve eaten so far highly recommend it. Will be back again

A lovely cafe at the back of the William Morris Gallery, facing the backyard garden. The breeze comes in and the room is surrounded by trees and sunshine. The toasts were delicious, and the staff are super friendly.

Had a nice pot of tea here but they are still displaying food/pastries on top of the glass cabinet level with people's mouths as they stand and speak to the staff to place thier order. I mentioned this to the person who served me and he just looked at me in amazement. My advice, look carefully at any food you order

Lovely cafe’ overlooking the park with a good selection of sweet and savoury options. Sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and the spring flowers and it couldn’t get any better. Went for the Ruben tostie but wasn’t sure the combination of red cabbage , salt beef and Swiss cheese worked for me. Will definitely try something else next time !

I had the pleasure of visiting Deeneys at the William Morris Gallery and was absolutely blown away by their incredible toasties! They truly have the best toasties I've ever had. The combination of flavors and quality of ingredients is simply outstanding. Not only that, but the staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and truly passionate about what they do. A visit to Deeneys is an absolute must for anyone in search of delicious comfort food served with a smile. Highly recommended!

Bright and airy cafe with both inside and outside seating. The staff were friendly and efficient. I had the Macbeth toastie and it was delicious and filling. I really enjoyed my visit.

Great cafe in the William Morris museum. The seating at the back might be rare on the weekends but has great view and has great atmosphere. Inside is a bit more like a busy cafe and maybe a bit difficult to get a table sometimes but it’s worth it to try the Macbeth toastie which you definitely can’t make at home as well. The haggis is so good, exactly how I have had in Scotland. It’s rich and savoury, and the bread is big and buttery. The sandwich is big enough to split with someone if you’re not too hungry. I think they have vegetarian options too. The service was also very friendly and coffee and cakes were great too.
