Google
Wine tastings by the oz and wine shop. This shop is so well decorated and has 25 or so wines you can sample in different sizes. Being new to wine, the 1 oz option was perfect to sample several options to hone in on what I enjoyed most. The staff was incredibly helpful to narrow down what we may enjoy most based on flavor profiles etc. They also have food you can order from the neighboring restaurants or snacks there in the store. For non wine lovers they also had beers on tap and in cans / bottles. We had an excellent time and will surely return!

We had an unforgettable experience at Deep Roots! The atmosphere was intimate and welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The wine selection was exceptional, with something for everyone, and the attention to detail truly made the evening special. It’s clear that the team at Deep Roots takes pride in creating memorable experiences for their guests. If you’re looking for a unique and personal spot for wine tasting or hosting a special event, I can’t recommend Deep Roots enough. We’ll definitely be back—thank you for an amazing night!

The southern/modern atmosphere I absolutely loved. The Staff here was great and very knowledgeable on any questions that My Husband and I had. There's plenty of seating inside and there's also a beautiful patio as well. They sell wine on the floor and champagne and beer behind the counter. Also, some really cute knickknacks around the check out table.

Google
Forever obsessed with Deep Roots! I LOVE the charcuterie board and get it every time we go! I’ve seen a few reviews of the charcuterie board saying that it isn’t worth the $35… but those who know, KNOW. These are quality meats, cheeses, and accouterment. And, if you have ever been to a cheese monger or even the cheese bar at whole foods or fresh market, you would know what a DEAL the charcuterie board is at only $35 to get such a fresh, high quality, unique selection and such generous portions! I also LOVE the self-serve pour options! It’s so fun to be able to sample so many great wines in 1oz & 3oz options, as well as full glass pours for the wines ya love! The atmosphere is perfect, clean, bright, chic-industrial. The staff is always so kind and helpful. The flatbreads are also a must! If you’re looking for a unique and high quality experience, definitely give Deep Roots a try! 🍷🥂✨

Love this place, Julia and staff were great. Many thanks!

Google
Nice little wine shop in Roswell featuring primarily domestic wines. They had a selection of wines in self-serve dispensers that work off of credit cards. They also have a very nice patio area. Mine only concern was attending a gathering in a corner of the shop ended up being very crowded to the point of unmanageable. Parking is also an issue unless you’re ok with valet.

Google
Deep Roots is a really quaint spot. I was able to enjoy this wine market as I attended a business meeting here. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The charcuterie was great.

Before I even go into ambiance and service I need to say something about Deep Roots. Damn! The shop is packed with lovely beautiful human beings of every shape, size, color, and creed. A wonderful eclectic mixture of people of every age group 21 and over. The ambiance is light, bright, clean, and decorated to be visually appealing . There is a bar, and several large communal tables and a few smaller tables. Plenty of room to sip and shop. There was an outside area with heaters, tables, stools, chairs and Adirondack sets, all nice and clean as you sip and watch the world pass. For those not familiar it's a computerized pour as you are card system. You walk in, you give them a valid CC card, they give you a wine card, you insert into into a section with wine, pick your grape, (or orange as I did) and you can choose a small taste for $2 a 1/2 glass for 6, and a full glass for 12. It metered heavily, however 3 1/2 glasses or orange wine had me setting sail. A clean and welcoming atmosphere, staffed with lovely ladies offering a great selection of wines to drink on site, outside seating, parking it tight but it's plenty for Roswell, plan ahead for parking or think ahead arrive early.

Yelp
It was amazing, I spent my 21st birthday here wine tasting. The lady that worked behind the counter was so nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend for anyone who would like to see what they like in the wine section. They have a wide range so take some time and enjoy yourself.

Yelp
Deep Roots is fantastic. Their entire staff is so graceful. We have been going there for years since they opened. Last week I was so humbled during Roswell Wine week when a woman who was not part of the festivities Nor did she purchase anything came in took a sit during the heat and asked for a glass of water. They didn't even hesitate. This is the kind of establishment that gets our business hands down every single time! Hats off to Dana and Team! Proud of you all!

Yelp
Great wine tasting room! What I like about it is that it's self-serve and you can get a taste, half pour, or a full pour of different wines. They have a wall of wine and some beer and champagne. It's nice place to go relax after work. You can order from this tapas place and they deliver your food to your table! I had this delicious sauvignon blanc that was light on the palette. I ordered the albondigas which were a little smaller than expected, the patatas bravas, which were spicy and tasty. We also had the chorizo. All in all I highly recommend this place if you want a nice experience with a nice cozy vibe!

Yelp
This place is amazing from the owner to the staff!! It's a must for something to do even if your wanting to just enjoy a moment to self!! The wine selection is grand! The champagne is beautiful! They have both indoor and outdoor seating! I will be back with friends, and they have events!

Yelp
Been here multiple times. The staff is really great, but sometimes the machines dont pour accurately and something needs to be fixed. Depending on who you ask, they will either shrug and move on, or gladly fix it. Its frustrating when its their issue and you're paying $3-5 per oz and you've been shorted by half. Keep asking, they'll fix it. Otherwise, great selection, great food, amazing patio. We'll keep coming back.

Yelp
Deep Roots offers several different wine varietals (almost exclusively sourced from the west coast, e.g., Oregon & California) and spanning a sizable price range. You can find wine bottles as low as $20 and as high as $90. What I enjoyed most was the wine tasting option offered for customers...for three different portions (taste, half glass, full glass). This gives you the opportunity to sample to your heart's content. Prices of the samples are proportional to those of the wine bottles. The store is clean and well maintained/organized. Service is great if you want to learn more about the wine. I look forward to potentially attending one of their events.

Yelp
I absolutely loved Deep Roots! It's a super interesting and unique concept for wine tasting. I have done a lot of tastings at wineries in North Georgia, and this stands out as being really unique. First of all, they only have California wines. Second of all, they have these really fancy looking wine machines. So instead of a person pouring out your wine, you just get to press a button and hold your wine cup underneath. When we walked in, we were kind of confused about how to get started. The lady working at the register was very nice and explained to us exactly how it worked. We gave them a credit card, and they gave us wine glasses and a Deep Roots card to use at the machines. There are about 3 sections (starting with whites to deep reds), and each section has 2 machines with 4 wines inside. So if you want to try a wine at a machine, insert your card into it and select which wine and how much. You have 3 pour options: a tasting (1 oz), a half glass, or a full glass. You position your glass under the spout, and press the button underneath the pour option of your choice. And then the wine pours into your cup! The prices are listed for every option. Also when you insert your card, the current balance is displayed. Many 1 oz pours ranged from a lower end of $2-3 to a higher end of $5. We only did 1 oz pours, which didn't make much sense because we tried several of the same wines again, haha. But I think I was just caught up in the novelty of pressing the buttons. This is super fun and I liked choosing my own options in a wine tasting, instead of having a set flight. You can also spend as much or as little money as you want. But REMEMBER to take your card out after you get your pour! I accidentally left my card in there for a while. But luckily, someone nice turned in the card. If someone not so nice finds your card, they can just charge a bunch of pours to your card. After you are done, turn the card in and pay for your total. Everyone working here was super kind and friendly, which was appreciated because we were by far the youngest people in here! The bathroom is a single bathroom in the back. Usually I don't like unisex bathrooms, but this was super clean. This is located in Roswell, and there is a small parking lot outside. We had a bit of trouble finding where to enter, but the front entrance has a sign. The interior looks very nice, with a few seating/couch arrangements. The place is small though. It is packed with many wines and shelves. Also definitely be mindful of your current balance because it can definitely be easy to keep racking up pours! I would highly, highly recommend trying out this place if you are into wine tasting! It is unlike any other wine tasting room in Georgia. I had a great time and the wines are fantastic.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time here this weekend- what a great new hot spot in Roswell. Great choice of wines not only to taste, but to buy and prices were very reasonable. They mentioned they will have a menu soon as well. Some tastes are as low as 99 cents, and wide range of pricing. You can also just do a half or full glass if you like. Busy hot spot !!! Great atmosphere- couches but also table/chairs. Hospitable staff. We are locals so can walk here - and we will definitely be back!!

Yelp
We came here on a weekend night before dinner to have some drinks and conversate. This was a great environment for that as there was not a ton of people there and it was well lit, perfect for conversation. We found a cafe type set up of 4 comfy chairs to settle in at. There are nuts that are complimentary and some other snacks for purchase. You put your credit card down in exchange for a card which allows you access to the self serve wine dispensers. There are different size pours and the price is clearly labeled. The red and whites are segregated and all the details about each wine is there as well. A great concept that lets you sample many different types of wine.

Yelp
I wanted to surprise my girlfriend and bring her somewhere new since she loves wine tasting. She had been looking at this place for a while. We spent about a total of $35 for 13 tastings. I really enjoyed this place since she liked it. I only tried a few of the wines, and I tried some of the pricier ones at $5-6 per oz. I liked the ones that I tried such as the 2016 Eleven Eleven Pinot Noir and the 2016 Levendi Sweetwater Cabernet Sauvignon. They give you a card that you put into the wine machines here. Once you put your card in, you select which wine and how much. You can get a 1 oz, 3 oz, or 6 oz. The card will keep track of your balance and show the updated amount when inserted. You place your wine glass under the spout and press the button for the wine and amount of your choice. There is a nice selection of wines here. She also liked the glass a lot so maybe we will get it next time we come here. The staff were friendly. Luckily someone turned in our card when she accidentally left it in a machine. They could have taken it and swiped it on our dime. Remember to take your card out when you are done and you pay at the end. I liked the couch and I sat there most of the time while I waited. I really like California wines so I'm glad I got to try these.

Yelp
Set just a few steps to the East of Canton in downtown Roswell, Deep Roots offers a range of wines by the glass and a chill atmosphere with a patio and seating alcoves where you can chat, read a book, or write a review about what a cool place this is. Deep Roots uses a mag card system to dispense wine and tally your tab. I like to keep a running total on my phone so that I don't get ahead of myself, because the selection is broad and delicious. And there's that transient short term memory deficit thing that happens when you consume fermented grape product. Because they use an automatic dispensing system, pours are consistent, and consistently fresh. No skunky second day bottles. The system provides fractional pour options--tastes or half pours--if you want to experiment, or just want to pace yourself. When the weather's nice, the patio makes a comfortable place to soak up some sunshine...along with some primo vino.

Yelp
Awesome spot to hangout and choose from a variety of different wines. Great vibes all around

Yelp
Amazing little find. Great setting, great wine experts, and will probably become my new remote working space. There little gifts are beyond cute too!!!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place! It's a great place for a date or spending time with friends. You have about 20 different wines you can sample, get a half glass or full glass. You put all your sampling's on a card that they give you...The samples can add up on that little card! Since COVID, they now have it to where you return your glass after each taste or drink. The bottle prices are reasonably priced ranging from $19-65+ for a bottle. Large outdoor seating! The selection is wonderful and they're constantly changing out the wine taps! The only thing I didn't like was their lack of food. They don't allow outside drinks or food, but the cheese and cracker packages in the cooler are less than appealing. This could be due to COVID but I would love to see a better and fresher selection of food to pair with the wine. I will definitely be back here!
google avatar

Michele L.

Yelp
WOW! Awesome new self serve wine bar in the downtown Roswell area! Great selection and LOVE how you can get small samples from a wide variety of delicious wines A MUST stop for your next trip strolling down Canton Street! Tucked down Plum Street. Enjoy the newest OTP location!

Yelp
i wasn't served due to my race. We waited for 20 minutes for a card with multiple guests arriving after us being helped (white). the original hostess asked if we had been helped stated no and she walked off on us. Racist company!!!!

Yelp
Love the concept! I used to do quite a bit of wine tasting (and yes, I really do mean tasting), and I miss having that expanded palate. My BF who lives in Roswell brought me here for some tastes. We entered the door from the north around 7pm on a Saturday, and there was a line to check out, which made it confusing as to where to go to get the chip card. Also, all the seating areas were already full! We walked around to stand in the middle of the bar, and since my BF had been there before, there was no need for a long explanation. You hand in your credit card and they give you a chip card. You insert your chip card into the machine, and then select what size pour you want - taste, half, or full glass. Glasses are in the cubbies next to the machines, so no need to wait for those. All the wines are Californian. All have long and wordy descriptions to explain the bottles. Tastes range from $1-10, according to the price of the bottle. There were 3 stations with 8 bottles each, progressing from lighter to fuller as you progress left to right. When the bottle runs out, the machines sense that not a full pour was dispensed, and they charge (well, don't charge) accordingly. The staff was on top of noting which bottles had run out and got them replaced in a matter of minutes. Between the bar and the wine dispensers are racks of wine for sale. The displays are beautiful, but it can make the space quite tight when you're reading and waiting to make your selection. There are a few nooks for enjoying your wine and a large bar/island area with stools. If you've got those in your party who don't do wine, they do have 2 local beers on tap in the back. They've also got a fridge with cold wine, water, and light bites ready to go. You can order light bites to enjoy with your wine. We were offered complimentary snacks - roasted nuts, nut crackers, and chocolate bites - so we just enjoyed those. All in all a pleasant experience, but get there early if you want a seat for more than 2 people! 2019 Reviews #10

Yelp
Great wine store! Every detail is carefully thought out! Nice wine exhibit, and detail oriented! The best part is the tables for your one wine tasting! Buy a bottle, pay a cork fee and enjoy it right there! Some cheese and cold meats available!

Yelp
Great experience really nice environment friendly and helpful staff would recommend this place

Yelp
This review is in response to Valencia D.'s review from 2/27/2021 regarding Deep Roots being a racist company! In no way shape or form is Deep Roots racist nor biased against any person of color. I am a black man that is a small business owner here in Roswell for just over a year. Deep Roots has supported me and my restaurant "Big Oak Tavern" from day one. I have built friendships and relationships with every employee in that building and not once have I every felt uncomfortable about racism in this establishment. I am certainly upset about that review because it is easy for an angry guest to use the race card for something so simple as being busy on a Friday or Saturday night. It is also easy to speak to a manager regarding the situation because I can assure you it could have been handled in a better way than this. It actually took her more time to create a yelp account and leave her first review than reaching out to Christy or Dana. That review is pointless and baseless. Deep Roots Family ignore that review and just keep being great!

Yelp
My husband and I met some friends here and were so excited because we had heard great things from them. It didn't disappoint! The experience was great, and service was so personable and warm. Being able to explore wines in a modern way was too fun, and we can't wait to come back :)
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love Dana and her team. They make every visit special. Their selection of California wine is so well rounded and you'll find a few new favorites. Dana even recommended which wineries my husband and I should visit on our Napa trip and gave us the perfect itinerary.

Yelp
While visiting Atlanta we decided to stop by Deep Roots, we couldn't have made a better decision. When we walked in, you could feel the fun and relaxed vibe throughout the place. We walked up to the bar and we were greeted by the owner. He was incredibly friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. He showed us how to use the self serve wine bar and offered to help us if we had any questions. They had several different wine spouts (20+) that you could try. Each was labeled with a full description and a showed the prices of a 1 oz pour, half glass or full glass. It was a perfect way to try the wines without having to purchase a full glass. We filled our glasses and went to sit down at the bar. We talked to one of the employees who told us all about the history of Deep Roots and the area. She recommended a small place to eat and even offered to run across the street to grab us a menu to look at. Overall, this is the friendliest wine shop we've ever been to. We'll be coming to the Atlanta area several times a year and we'll be sure to stop by each time

Yelp
My favorite place in Historic Roswell! I tell everyone I meet about it and when I see them show up they agree that it's terrific. All California wines with a great and friendly staff. Try a tasting and if you like the wine buy it and drink it there for just a $5.00 corking fee. The atmosphere is perfect for hanging out with friends including the furry kind (Dogs Allowed). I highly recommend Deep Roots!
google avatar

Yelp
What a fun place! We stopped in here while we were in the Roswell area, exploring the different shops and restaurants along Canton St. It's a neat concept. You give them your debit or credit card and get a card to sample all the various wines they have in the store. You have the option to choose from different sizes, swipe your card & the machine pours the wine of your choice. I really enjoyed it & thought it was just the cutest little place. The staff was very friendly as well.

Yelp
Love this place and so glad they are doing tastings again. Great wine and even better service.

Yelp
Great service and friendly atmosphere. I only went in to get a couple bottles for take out but hope to return sometime soon to do an actual wine tasting. Very conveniently located too.

Yelp
Phenomal experience at Deep Roots! Loved everything we tasted... Cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place early Wednesday evening and fell in love with the concept. We bought a bottle of our favorite wine in the store and we opened it there and drank half of it and ate the snack mix they provided. The snack mix consisted of a nut mix with cashews, pecans, pistachios and other nuts, some cheese crackers and some thin flax seed style crackers. We had a couch in the corner to ourselves. The atmosphere was like a cozy living room - the type of spot you could kick back with a good bottle of vino and watch the Bachelor. We'll be back again!
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Love this place. Such a cool idea having wines "on draft". They serve you some nuts and chocolates to have with wine and also have a market If you wanted to purchase more food. Definitely go and taste a few but then buy a bottle and relax and enjoy!

Lindsey W.

Yelp
Such a fun place. Management is amazing and super accommodating! I've gone with girls after a baby shower as well as date night with husband. So fun and well run! Love the concept and shop. Outdoor seating is amazing. Great spot in Roswell!

Yelp
My husband and I had an amazing experience with Dana and her husband! They are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable! Being local business owners ourselves, it was refreshing to find a concept such as this in our community! The wines and ambiance are fantastic. I love the pay for a taste, 1/2, or full pour option. I highly recommend Deep Roots Market & Tasting Room to anyone looking for a relaxing experience with fantastic wine options!

Jill L.

Yelp
Best place in Roswell to relax and taste fantastic California wines. Great concept in a beautiful setting. The employees are warm, friendly and knowledgeable! Thrilled that Dana & Todd opened this wine tasting concept.

Yelp
Love this place and ALL the people that work there. Great selection of wines with a nice ambiance, fun people and good prices. Be sure to check it out! You will not be disappointed and you will probably make a new friend or two.

Yelp
This place is a must! My wife and I have been here numerous times now and every time we go we have an absolute blast. The staff and owner are amazing and so helpful. Our business now uses Deep Roots for events. Our guests rave about it every time we have an event. If you are looking for a wonderful evening of wine with great service, there is no better place than Deep Roots in Roswell!
google avatar

Steve E.

Yelp
I have been a frequent customer for well over a year now. Whether it's been to conduct business, meet friends, a quiet evening, watch a game, gather with larger groups - Deep Roots is second to none and my favorite destination. While the extensive selection of wines and accompaniments are simply "gold standard", what sets Deep Roots apart is Best in Class ownership and service. Dana and her team make you feel welcome and part of the Deep Roots Family.
google avatar

Andrea E.

Yelp
Really fun place with a great selection of California wines. The owner and staff are super friendly and it's a fun and laid back experience. You have the opportunity to try a wide selection of different wines in varying amounts (oz). Also if you visit and then go back in a week or 2 the whole selection will have changed so you'll have the opportunity to try new wines. Great spot.

Shannon V.

Yelp
I absolutely love Deep Roots! This is my go-to in Roswell! I love the setup, the knowledgable and friendly staff, and the whole concept. Not a wine drinker? They have beer, too! Thank you for settling in Roswell, Deep Roots! You are an asset to our community!

Gary H.

Yelp
This is a great place to stroll into and have a glass or two of wine. They have an excellent selection of wines. Dana studied wine in California before moving here and opening Deep Roots. She knows her stuff as does the rest of the staff. Good date night activity but also great place to stock up your cellar.

Becky D.

Yelp
This place is the best. They have some of the nicest and most fun staff you could imagine and the atmosphere is so unique. This is one of our favorite places to visit in downtown Roswell. The bottles wine selection is incredible and the wine on draft and small snacks around the store make your visit top notch. Highly recommend checking it out if you are on Canton Street!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so neat! I've never done a self guided wind tour before. The staff is friendly and the wine was amazing. I can't wait to bring my girls here!

Yelp
We have been loyal Deep Roots customers since they opened and I cannot say enough positive things about this business, the employees, and the owner. From the beginning, we have felt welcomed and valued as customers. The selection of wines is terrific, their special events are the best, and the vibe makes you think you are in a Napa Valley tasting room.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere! Very relaxing. We enjoyed tasting the various wines before we each landed on a fave. Great glass of wine some cheese and crackers and great conversation. Who could ask for more?

Amy G.

Yelp
Hosted my mom's 60th birthday party here for 70 guests. Dana and her team (Dana's husband and Christie especially!) were AMAZING. They set everything up perfectly and made the space so inviting and beautiful. They handled all the catering from local restaurants in the Roswell Square, and the food was great. The whole planning process was easy with Dana to guide us, and we could not have asked for a better experience. She chose all the wine for us, and we were able to have such a wide variety of wine that was all delicious. It was such a memorable night for our mom and everyone who attended, and we are so grateful to the Deep Roots team for making everything run so smoothly and allowing us to enjoy ourselves. We can't wait to come back and visit!

We stopped in to see this new addition to Canton St on a Friday night. Great buildout, very nice staff and owners, and great selection of wines you'll recognize from California. If you've visited California wineries, strolling through this shop will bring back memories of those vacations.. Also, the pricing on bottles of wine is excellent. If you've grown accustomed to Total Wine and Costco pricing, bottle up, because Deep Roots has better pricing on every bottle we checked. Plus, they have bottles you cannot find at retailers. Great place to stop before or after dinner on Canton St.

Yelp
My friend and I were having lunch at Plum Cafe and they recommended Deep Roots when we mentioned wanting a glass of wine. What a great find! If you've ever done wine tasting in Napa or Sonoma, this place will make you feel you are in CA. Really nice job making it comfortable and very easy to use system to do self serve samples. The wines are commensurate with other retailers. I would recommend it for gatherings to just try different wines and chat. The son, Eddie was very friendly and helpful. They have all kinds of merch for sale. I think they offer nuts/crackers if you want while tastings. We were stuffed so we declined. Great addition to Downtown Roswell scene! Can't wait until weather is warmer to sit on the patio!
