I Didn’t Choose To Come Here, I Was Treated. After Trying Some Of The Items On The Menu I Know I Will Not Be Returning. The Baby Back Ribs Were Tender, But They Weren’t Seasoned. I Don’t Eat Ribs With A Bunch Of BBQ Sauce. The Sides Need A Lot Of Work. I Didn’t Like Any Of Them. Oh Yea The Cornbread Was Edible.

During my visit to Philly my friend said she wanted to prove to me that Philly had a spot with good Barbecue. She ordered the shareable platter that had several items … brisket, ribs, chicken and we selected potato salad, beans and white coleslaw. We weren’t asked if we wanted barbecue sauce on the side or on the meat. Well the meats arrived drenched in barbecue sauce … a no for me. A for sure tale tell sign the meat isn’t seasoned. You can’t get the true taste of meat like that. I asked them to take the ribs back and to bring some without sauce. Sure enough, the meat was bland and tasteless. The sides well let’s just say … a no for me! I couldn’t figure out what the heck they did with the potato salad but it is horrible! The coleslaw and beans, not good either. This was an expensive epic fail … I was not impressed the food was not good at all and showed me nothing. They have to come much better than this to prove they have good barbecue. The waiter was pleasant and service good, that’s it! Fail on the food! 🙄😱 $81 wasted!!!!🤷🏾‍♀️ I “do not” recommend. July 18, 2024 Just read the response to my review. Reviews are written so people have a true unbiased view of the food and service-of a restaurant to make decisions about dining and to help the restaurant make improvements. If you expect all reviews to be favorable you are mistaken. I call it like I see it. The food wasn’t good and a waste of money.

If you’re looking for the ultimate BBQ experience, Deke’s BBQ is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the passion and authenticity behind everything they do. The flavors are simply outstanding—perfectly smoked meats with just the right balance of tenderness and smokiness. The potato wedges and the Mac and Cheese are a must. Every bite feels like a labor of love!

Ordered barbecue chicken and it was totally bloody to the bone! Bone looked like the chicken was just killed. Spoke to the manager showed her the chicken and she told me it was cooked to spec!!! Didn’t even offer to replace the food!! Instead she said that’s what chicken cooked on wood looks like!!

5 friends went for lunch, the wings were amazing, the spicy BBQ sauce, a delight. The potato salad was seasoned perfectly. Only critique was the chopped chicken and pork sandwichs were a touch dry, adding more sauce was needed but we enjoyed the flavors greatly. Can't wait to go back

Everyone at Deke’s was so nice. I had the Sloppy Doc fries, made vegetarian by using the vegan sloppy Joe. Every element of it was so good. Pickles were fresh, coleslaw well balanced, cheese sauce creamy and homemade. Not a food you can reheat, so I said Oh well. Went ahead and indulged and just put the hurt on myself with it. Worth it. My dad also enjoyed his brisket nachos.

I have no idea what some of these people are talking about. Got take out. Couldn’t be happier with the meal. Got the pulled pork- this was so delicious; with the sauce. I’m not a rib person but they were tender with a lot of meat. I tried variety of the sides; potato salad, red slaw, Mac and cheese and greens. Loved all of them except the greens ( a little sweet for me). All in all, very impressed and will be returning! Thank you for a great meal!

I’ve enjoyed Deke’s in the past, especially when the Ridge Ave location was open, and even the food truck has been solid. But this recent delivery was a letdown. The ribs were overcooked and lacked flavor, and the sauce wasn’t enough to help. The mac and cheese isn’t what it used to be, and the cornbread was dry and forgettable. The in-person experience at this location has a nice vibe and friendly service, but overall the food quality just isn’t where it used to be.
