Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse brings Texas flair to the San Diego waterfront with its luxurious vibe, prime steaks, and superb service.
"Sometimes you just want to pretend like you’re an important businessman and exchange business cards with people like you’re Patrick Bateman in American Psycho - except maybe without the whole serial killer situation. When that’s the case, you want to go to Del Frisco’s. It’s in the old Packard building, which is so big it’s basically like having a meal inside of 30th Street Station, and the crowd here is generally lots of people in suits one-upping each other over a few porterhouses. Along with the traditional options, there are some cheesesteak dumplings that are delicious, and you should end every meal with the butter cake." - Sydney McElwee
"Hailing from Texas, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse is coming to stake its claim on the San Diego waterfront with a 16,650-square-foot, two-story restaurant that’s a West Coast-first for Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, which runs multiple concepts including 13 locations of the high-end steakhouse. It drops into the base of the newly-established InterContinental Hotel and is slated to grand open on Saturday, November 3. Designed by Aria Group (Nordstrom, True Food Kitchen, Shake Shack) with a Texas-sized budget, the restaurant has seating for 480 guests across a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces including five private dining rooms. Heading up this kitchen for the fine dining chain is executive chef Brian Christman, who ran the flagship New York branch of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and has two decades of steakhouse experience, including time logged with Mastro’s and Smith & Wollensky’s. The restaurant’s premium meat options will range from 45-day dry-aged steaks to wagyu beef sourced from all over the word. The steakhouse is also known for its award-winning wine list, which will be overseen by wine director Faith Fulginiti, who spent the last decade running the $8 million wine program at its Manhattan outpost. Michael Manoocheri, an alum of luxury properties include the Four Seasons Hotels, Hotel Bel-Air, and Auberge du Soleil, is on board as general manager." - Candice Woo
