I came here for a nice date night with the boo, and right off the bat we were awed by the beautiful flowers adorning the entrance. As you walk in, the interior is beautifully decorated, completed crowded with happy customers, and you're totally transported to a different world. We were seated immediately as we had a reservation, and it took a while for our waitress to come, but they did update us and say that she working triple time. Afterwards, it took us almost 45 minutes to get our drinks, in which we learned that the bar needed A LOT of work in terms of process improvement. Food-wise, on the other hand, was an absolute delight:
Hummus: This was wonderfully smooth and full of flavor. It goes so well with the flatbread they bring to every table.
Fresh veggies (for hummus): This was worth the extra money. Plenty of fresh little carrots, cauliflower, and all sorts of goodies that kept my inner rabbit happy and fed.
Heirloom tomato salad: Ok first of all, this is a cherry tomato and cucumber salad. Don't think of this as actual heirloom tomatoes (Google image it--they're giant misshapen tomatoes rather than these cute little things). It was still nice and refreshing, but just don't get confused when ordering this.
Yogurt marinated steak: I forgot the name, but this was VERY tender and delicious. Apparently, it's one of the most popular items on the menu, and I can see why.
Falafel: Very spiced and herbal (I think I taste cilantro), especially seeing how green it is on the inside. It came with dressed kale (also delicious) and pickled beets. The falafels were light and crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside. Easily one of the best falafels I've had in Georgia.
Lubia polo: This was recommended by the beverage manager, who said it tasted like his grandma's cooking back in Iran. How can you NOT order it after hearing something like that? This was hearty, rich, and flavorful. Better yet, it made for GREAT leftovers (even good cold!) It was full of steak tips and every bite was a delight. To be honest, this was probably my favorite dish of the night.
They also have persian tea (very fragrant--reminiscent of earl gray) and turkish coffee. Despite the hiccups in service (they're new and working on it), the managers AND chefs came by several times to take any feedback, so I'm certain that this place will only get better. I can't wait to be back, or even order something to go, though I will say that it is wonderful to sit inside though. Definitely give this place a try!
