Yelp
Summary:
Perfectly fine for breakfast after a run, it takes them a bit of time to refill your coffee, and you have to order at the counter and then wait at the table for your food. Word of advise: Always pick the Special of the day.
At nights it becomes the Sunset Tavern, where the drinks aren't bad, but the live music is sometimes more annoying than helpful. Still, this is a staple of South Miami, and for a good reason: it may not be the best, but it's never bad.
The Experience:
The thing about going every single Saturday to the same spot is that it loses part of its charm, but I already vetoed the previous breakfast spot of my running group, so I guess we're sticking to Deli Lane... which is actually fine: The regular menu items (and I've tried a few) are almost always good, but (at least every Saturday morning) they also have a Special of the day, which is usually really good. Their coffee could use some improvement, and it takes a while to get refilled, but in the end, we spend like 3 or 4 hours having our breakfast and talking, and just for the ambiance and the talking-time it's worth it.
The service is good, but you can tell the servers are overworked and could use a few more hands around.
Then in the night, Deli Lane's Bruce Wayne becomes the Sunset Tavern's Batman. The drinks are just fine, but I think I'll stick to the beers, and I've heard several of the bands that play often... and all I can say is that most are not... of my taste... or any of my friends' tastes for that matter...
However, it is still a good place to hang out, day or night, and it has a parking lot, which is small, but useful if you get there early.
and... yes, I have lots of pictures here, but none of them are of the food and drinks, and Yelp is not the place to post just us having fun and eating and/or drinking :-p
