NYC New Restaurant Openings, September 2025 | Eater NY

"Billed as Manhattan’s first all-vegan French patisserie inside Délice & Sarrasin, this chandelier-adorned counter showcases chef Laurent Dupal’s delicate mille-feuille, eclairs, and Paris-Brest, plus a playful Petrossian croissant layered with crème fraîche, smoked “salmon,” dill, and Zeroe Caviar made from Mediterranean seaweed, with plans to expand into the dining room and garden." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Very friendly staff and incredible croissant sandwich with bacon egg and cheese! Great flavor in the egg and cheese and amazing texture in the croissant, and he warmed it up for us which was lovely. The opera cake was good but not amazing (light on coffee and almond flavor, a little on the dense side), ditto with the fruit Danish (you could tell it had been refrigerated vs made fresh). Cookies were ok but had an odd texture kind of like they were gluten free. We were very grateful they had decaf coffee with pistachio milk, and the guy working there was so sweet. I'd definitely come back for the breakfast sandwiches!

Nice decoration but that’s about it. I was super excited to try the first vegan French bakery in the city but what a disappointment - even the vegan Whole Foods pastries bit these (by a lot). We came in for brunch at 12 pm and the croissant and cakes were definitely a couple of days old. The croissant was tasty but it was extremely dry (it was a struggle to cut with fork and knife) and cold (the chocolate was solid). The lemon cake was overall not tasty and so sweet that we could not eat more than a couple of bites. The cheesecake had some potential but it was lukewarm and the strawberry jam was most likely store bought. All 3 desserts took over 20 minutes to be served, even though the place was not full and they were not fresh. We had also ordered tea which only arrived as we were wrapping up the pastries. A very expensive and unfortunate brunch. Their restaurant menu is tasty but still very overpriced (steak from steak frites is just pan seared Chunk Foods steak anyone can get at the supermarket for $5).

Google
This patisserie is just amazing! Went there on opening day and although super busy, the service was impeccable! Tried the Chocolatine and the Plain Danish and both were so delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try everything else from the menu! As a bonus, the space is very beautiful

Google
Really good pastries and a cozy atmosphere. I paired my pastry with the Third Espresso, which had a beautifully balanced dark chocolate profile and went amazingly well with my éclair croissant 🥐

Google
Impeccable vibe, top tier service, friendliest staff, and most decadent pastries - what more can I ask for?? The backyard patio is such a sanctuary. Highly recommend you try the Steak croissant and fruit danish!! I will be back :)

Some of the best vegan food I've had in a while! We just got desserts, which were all FANTASTIC and we're dying to go back for the savory options

Chocolate croissant with eclair cream… and all vegan… not too sweet, just perfect. Bravo Delice Team. Bravo.

Yelp
Utterly amazing dining experience. All the luxuries of French dining but vegan-style! Flavors were rich and complex. We didn't taste a thing we didn't rave over Started with the Brie with potatoes and bread. So creamy and good Cog au vin and Steak with foie gras in a yummy mushroom sauce.........and all vegan!!! I've been a veggie way too long to even remember meat but the Mr still can relate to his meaty days & said this all was to the point he would not have been able to tell the difference. All I can say is that it was over the top delicious & we're already planning to come back

Yelp
This was my second time dining at Delice & Sarrasin, and while the food was fantastic, the service was disappointing. The server wasn't attentive and seemed judgmental. We were only offered tap water with no option for bottled/sparkling, and when our bottle was empty, it wasn't refilled. The most disappointing part was when the server stood over us and asked how much we were going to tip before we even paid the bill. I thought tipping was a private matter, but this felt intrusive and uncomfortable, implying that we wouldn't tip at all. This was especially disappointing since my family was visiting from out of town, and I really wanted them to have a great experience.

Yelp
I feel like the apps are where they shine. The French onion soup was a great comfort meal. The escargot was buttery, garlicky goodness. The green salad was literally just greens with balsalmic. Hard to mess up. Entrees were less grand. I got the Mr. Petrossian crepe and I had mixed feelings. Recipe says the salmon is made with konjac, but I think it was just carrots. The avocado puree did not taste fresh. However, I enjoyed the base/crepe. My friend was not a fan of the Cassoulet Toulousain. The restaurant was empty Friday during lunch, so we ended up not requiring the reservation we made. The restaurant was extremely warm and humid, and about the same as being outside. Our server was helpful and efficient.

Yelp
I was really pleasantly surprised by Delice & Sarrasin. The service was quick and efficient. The restaurant definitely has a cozy and elegant vibe. As a vegetarian, it was a cool experience to be able to eat vegan versions of traditional French dishes, especially the escargot. The chocolate cake was rich and divine. The truffle fries could have had more truffle -- could barely taste it (my only feedback).

Yelp
Delice & Sarrasin is unforgettable, an exquisite experience that demands a special occasion even if that special occasion is simply a beautiful winter afternoon. Or an early summer evening with a dear friend that, like you, enjoys a spectacular cheese board! The new location is much larger and more posh than the original location. My most recent visits were at different times of day, that quiet time between lunch and dinner when I indulged and ordered their exquisite cheese plate all by myself! And enjoyed a glass of wine. Just because it was a Thursday afternoon in February. And I felt fancy. Most recently I came on a Thursday evening with a friend and we shared that aforementioned plateau à fromage and I was reminded that these are the little moments in life that are the best moments in life. I had a beautiful nicoise salad and now I'm looking back at the menu with some regrets. You really can't have it all unless you live close by and that, I do not. But I'll return. And one day, I'll go back and have dessert, too.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Delice & Sarassin, a French vegan restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. As someone who doesn't often explore French cuisine due to its heavy meat options, I was excited to try their vegan alternatives. I tried their escargot and crepes, both of which were outstanding. The escargot was garlicky and paired perfectly with the Parmesan cheese. The crepes were authentically French and delicious. The service was satisfactory as well. Overall, this place offers a unique and flavorful vegan twist on traditional French dishes that I highly recommend trying.

Yelp
I'm normally not vegan, nor do I love French food, so I was pretty skeptical coming into Delice & Sarrasin. However, it really exceeded my expectations, and would highly recommend anyone to give it a try! We started with the escargot, the foie gras, and the plate of cheeses. The escargot was really fantastic; it just truly tastes like great escargot, super rich and buttery and overall delicious. The foie gras was good, but a bit more muted in flavor than I would expect. Got pretty hidden if I spread it with the jam. The cheeses were also a standout; they really land the funkiness well, with excellent textures. The blue cheese was fantastic! For mains, we got the crab cakes, the beef bourguignon, and the chicken legs. The crab cakes were fantastic; somehow has the texture of a normal crab cake, with great flavor. The beef was probably the letdown of the meal; I feel like they went too heavy on the wine reduction, so it ended up actually quite bitter. The chicken legs were also great; pretty clearly tofu based, but the sauce was delicioius. Overall, a fantastic meal, would highly recommend!

Yelp
Just love finding great vegan restaurants that my wife can enjoy and that exceed my expectations as a meat eater. French is my favorite cuisine and my wife is vegan, so when she found this place in NYC, it was a must try. So we started with the cheese board because of course we did. Delicious. I want to know where they get their cheese and do they offer a subscription. For my entree, I got the Cassoulet Toulousain, which is a white bean casserole with seared "duck" patty, Toulouse "sausage", onions, carrots and tomatoes. Yea, I copied it from the menu but that's a lot to remember. Did it taste like duck? No. It frankly wasn't really close. But you know what? It also didn't matter. This dish was phenomenal. I wanted more but more did not magically reappear. In fact, it made me stop believing in magic because if magic was real, that dish would have been bottomless. I loved everything about this meal and if my wife and I ever repeated a restaurant in NYC, this would be a repeat. Oh, yeah, service was excellent and the restaurant is very pretty. But whatever, just go for the food.

Yelp
I need to preface that I am not a vegan or generally a fan of French cuisine. However, I was very surprised with how much I enjoyed this meal. I went to appease my sister who is vegan and found this place through an online vegan forum. We ordered 4 meals, the baked Brie, and the French onion soup. For four people it was more than enough food. There was even enough for one of us to have leftovers the following day. What was nice about this place was that all of the "protein" options were different in taste and texture. So often, alternative meats all feel the same way. This was all very distinctive to the meal they were representing. My favorite was the "steak patty." The place was hard to find and our Uber driver got lost. The address lists it on one street but it's not actually on that street. Very confusing. We also ordered the creme brûlée. Personally it was too much citrus and was overpowering, but the texture was so spot on. I would have never known it was vegan.

Yelp
Such a romantic ambiance. The food is small portions but is totally worth it . Their FULL menu is vegan. Friendly staff ...small tables but it creates for an intimate experience.

Yelp
Amazing food and beautiful ambiance! The dishes are very unique and such a treat to try a cuisine that's traditionally very meat oriented. The only thing I didnt love was the mushroom caviar, it was a very very small portion. The other dishes however were great!! Service was a little slow and we were nervous they were going to rush us because we were nearing their close time but it didn't feel that way.

Yelp
It's difficult to find options to enjoy in French food when you have vegetarian/vegan dietary restrictions, which makes Delice & Sarrasin such a great way to try cuisine that many may never have the option to. The flavors are authentic and so aromatic, the staff is great with suggesting items to try based on your palette. I highly recommend the cheese plate that comes with toasted bread, nuts and dried fruit to start, the spreads are so savory and flavorful and better than cheese imo. The staff also recommended the escargot, which are chopped oyster mushrooms, each serving is about a small spoonful and it is rich with vegan butter and herbs--it's very nice on bread and a good appetizer for two people to share. For mains, I was very impressed by the Steak Frites, which the staff also recommended because of the steak they use--it's soy and wheat based, holds flavor well and the texture resembles kind of peels like meat and the crispy truffle steak fries are so delicious. They are known for their galettes (buckwheat stuffed crepes), and they are so filling and delicious! The coq au vin is also a favorite, which comes with lots of red wine sauce drenched mushrooms and two veg chicken drumsticks. For dessert, the crème brûlée is a must! I've been coming here for almost 10 years and love coming here for celebrations and whenever I want to break off the beaten path of vegetarian food. I also love the friendly staff and that the restaurant was started by a mother and son endeavor!

Yelp
Sunday lunch at Delice & Sarrasin. Really quaint cozy restaurant with a chic vibe. The staff members were friendly, attentive and professional, definitely added to the whole experience. For food we ordered: Appetizer: Escargots Beurre Maitre D'hotel - Absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned, accompanied bread was perfectly toasted Entree 1: Coq au Vin - a very interesting flavor profile with a hearty gravy and filling chicken imitation, was an innovative dish. Entree 2: Crabe Pané aux Choux de Bruxelles - this was my first time trying a crab imitation, I really enjoyed it, the tartar sauce was delicious, Brussel sprouts were nicely cooked, elevated the dish! Overall really enjoyed the meal and ambiance. Will definitely be going again to try the crepes!

Yelp
I visited in the past, and came back my first night in NUC after 6 years of daydreaming about veganized bleu cheese. All 4 cheeses were to die for (or rather, not die for). That was only the start. Great vegan wine. Delicious GF crepes. Each entree was delicious, flavorful, and scarily convincing! My only regret was not saving room for dessert. We had a kind server who seemed a bit roped into a conversation at another table, but still was attentive to our needs and gave us enough privacy for a beautiful dinner date in close quarters. Additionally, it was JUST as impressive as I'd found it half a decade ago. They truly give you 5 star treatment and the food deserves a 6 star rating. Grateful to have an option like this -- I have been recommending it to fellow travelers for years!

Yelp
I really was hoping to love this restaurant. It was not a very good dining experience. The restaurant was cozy and looks like someone's apartment. It was cute for a restaurant. The host was also our server. She had absolutely no personality. She barely talked and checked on us only once. There was another Ken doll looking tall waiter. Not bad on the eyes if that's your type. The food, not very good. Someone could have made a better home meal than what was served to us, especially for the price. We started with about 2 small dry slices of bread with jam and cheese. The cheese made me want to vomit. It looked like sliced tofu but I think it was made with cashews. We also had the froi gras, we liked that the most. It was basically made of mushrooms and garlic cooked on a hot plate. Although this was the tastiest it was definitely what gave me food poising. I was super sick for 5 days and kept burping the garlic smell. It gave me the runs from that night a few days. My meal was Brussels sprouts with crab cakes on top. I was starving and ate my meal leaving 3 Brussels sprouts. The crab cake was good but the Brussels sprouts looked like they were boiled and old. My daughter didn't eat her chicken cutlet she put it on another plate that the waitress took away. The drinks were great. But unfortunately for $120, it wasn't worth it. Save you money and make a home cooked meal.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and was amazing to have a true French dining experience that was fully vegan. Everything from the ambience to the attentive service made for a special brunch. I tried the French onion soup which was filling and delicious. We split the chocolate and banana crepe which was also amazing. Wish the bathroom window was closed with how chilly it was, but other than that, a perfect experience and cannot wait to try more on the menu!

Laury H.

Yelp
Service was horrible and the food was microscopic for the price. One dish was alright, one was terrible, and one was quite good. For $40-50 per person we left hungry, and didn't enjoy the meal. Far better vegan options in the neighborhood. Go to JaJaJa.

Yelp
Right off the bat, ambiance was great. So cozy and I felt like I was actually in Europe. I absolutely love the fact that there's a vegan French restaurant because as a vegetarian, quite frankly there is usually nothing to eat at a regular French restaurant, so I've never been until now! The escargot is yummy but kind of small. We also got the Rossini and the crab cakes. Crab cakes were delicious but the Brussel sprouts along with it were not cooked very well. The Rossini left much to be desired, especially given the fact that it was their in-house made steak but tasted pretty much like an Impossible burger. Service was quick and polite. Will be back to try more!

Yelp
Had lunch here with a vegetarian friend (I am not) and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Each plate was a work of art, and the textures and tastes completely satisfying. French onion soup and beef bourguignon were particularly good. The blue cheese on the cheese plate was incredible. Lavender rice pudding was profoundly comforting. Wines by the glass (not many) were perfect. Service was charming and helpful. I'd go back.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite was the Brie with the potatoes. It was bold and creamy with a little bite to it. Pairing it with the potatoes was lovely. 9/10 I felt like the French Onion soup was lacking in depth and onions, it was also quite clear compared to the dark robust color French Onion soup traditionally is. I did enjoy the cheese on top. 6/10 The "beef" which is made of pea protein was an interesting chewy and soft texture. The sauce reminded me of a dish my mom used to make-- you can definitely taste the wine. My favorite were the carrots and potatoes that accompanied it. 7.5/10

Yelp
I've been really curious about this place for a while, and was excited to check it out as our veggie girl's night pick! We each ordered the French Onion Soup as a starter and the La Paysanne Galette to share. The French onion soup was a little disappointing as it didn't have the rich flavor of true French onion soup, and sadly the coconut cheese didn't properly mimic the taste of real cheese. The galette was much better - the cheese had a more realistic flavor, and I liked the taste/crunch of the bean bacon. The crepe itself is made of buckwheat and was a tad dry, but I still enjoyed it. The menu is pretty extensive, and it's so nice to be able to order anything as a vegan or vegetarian. I would definitely go back to try some more of their dishes as I feel we barely scratched the surface. Also, the interior is tastefully decorated to feel like an actual cafe in France, and, as a bonus, they have a really nice outdoor seating area in the back for warm weather days!
google avatar

Yelp
We went during Christmas time, the place was packed! The tables are close to each other so conversation was difficult because we would hear conversation from the table next to us and versa. We ordered delivery initially and liked the food so we decided to dine in. Would love to visit again when the place is not too crowded.

Yelp
This place has definitely become one of my new favorite sure bets for hanging out with friends when I'm looking for an enjoyable dinner with a chic vibe and romantic ambience, that also accommodates to dietary restrictions quite well and serves some really great food. I've always loved their food - but after their recent move - i enjoy their new location even more with the beautiful back patio space and the intimate indoor space. Absolutely love their desserts, love how most dishes are gluten-free and everything is vegetarian, and almost everything I've tried here is delicious. I would detail what I ordered, but most of my visits has been with a friend who will order almost everything on the menu with us and we all share so... aside from the "beef" dish being too salty, everything else is simply amazing. And no... nothing is ever wasted - we always order too much but still have no leftovers. That is how good the food is. The service is always wonderful. On a sidenote, the host working at the front is ridiculously charming and handsome. Look forward to our next visit, for sure!

Yelp
This restaurant is incredible. One of the best fine dining spots in NYC, all the more special because it's vegan. The food, wine, and atmosphere are all first class. Delicious and dreamy!

Yelp
My true rating is 100/100. My wife, our friend and myself visited this fantastic restaurant without a reservation but that did not stop the gentleman from finding a way to seat us. The restaurant is cute and intimate. Fabulous decor and style. Feel like royalty. Small yet spacious. The food is DELICIOUS. I ordered a La Lolotte Crêpe and a Cappuccino. Definitely will return to try more from the extensive menu. Was greeted, seated, and served by the wonderful owner himself. Absolutely recommend this place- no other vegan place like it.

Yelp
Mind-blowing vegan French food! Lived up to all my expectations. We started with the baked brie appetizer that was widely recommended, and it was so gooey and delicious. I had the cassoulet as my entree, which was so hearty and flavorful and satisfying without being too rich. Friends tried the crab cake and coq au vin and enjoyed them. Dessert-wise, the orange creme brûlée was excellent (amazing texture!) although very heavy on the orange. The chocolate mousse was good and also very orangey. The almond milk chocolate cake was good although the least memorable of the desserts. I definitely want to try a crepe on my next visit. The hot dark chocolate was rich and delicious. The French alcoholic cider was also really good. Basically everything we tried was great; the atmosphere is equally lovely (really feels/looks like a cozy French restaurant). The perfect spot for a special occasion or just for treating yourself!

Yenderson S.

Yelp
It's an interesting take on French cuisine but vegan; it's really cool to see some traditional dishes turned into something vegan. In general, the food was very rich and heavy; it's worth trying, but keep that in mind. The restaurant entrance is kinda hidden but inside is beautiful, the service was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
An absolute gem! Kind owners and scrumptious, comforting French food, devoid of animal products but brimming with flavor and passion. Fair prices. Try the escargot. Insanely delicious!

Yelp
A French vegan restaurant. It was so intriguing to me I had to try it. And overwhelmingly glad I did. Small indoor dining space with approximately 10-12 tables or so as well as covered outdoor seating off the sidewalk area. My dining experience was from being seated outside. The menu had an array of items with names similar to those long thought of French named or inspired dishes. The escargot beurre maître d'hôtel, vegan snails was made of oyster mushrooms seasoned with vegan butter and spices. Although very appetizing, I would recommend a few more mushrooms to get a full bodied taste. ESCARGOT BUERRE MAÎTRE D'HOTEL Well flavored and tasty oyster mushrooms giving a slight semblance of true escargot. Only recommendation is for more or larger portion. Taste definitely a 5/5. CASSOULET TOULOUSAIN - 25 Slow cooked casserole with white beans, vegan sausage (vegetables based), soy duck, onions, carrots and tomatoes. I look forward to dining at the restaurant again and to bring a few friends to share the experience.

Yelp
The restaurant has a great romantic atmosphere with the instrumental music (playing in the background), dim lighting and quaint outdoor seating area. The host was very attentive and wore a jacket and since we were already dressed from an earlier event, felt the dress code was more on the formal end but there were some tourists that did come in with shorts. I was very happy with the scallops and my husband really enjoyed the vegan escargot. I definitely recommend this for first dates, return dates, etc.

Yelp
The restaurant is tiny: doesn't sit more than 20 people. Not good for large groups. Outdoor seating available. Make reservations--Saturday night, you won't be able to get a table without reservations. Ambiance: cozy, French provance, French themed music playing softly in the background. Pleasant and casual. Service: non existent. Our waiter hasn't checked in with us once during the entire evening. Our water bottle was constantly empty. We felt dismissed even before we were halfway through our meal. AC wasn't working in 100degree heat. Dining indoors felt like a special type of torture. All patrons were complaining, but sadly there was nothing that could've been done. Food: not worth money, time, or calories. $19 Scallops looked pretty, but tasted like bland, old, chewy tofu. Why imitate scallops, if the outcome couldn't taste farther from the real deal? The sautéed spinach was tasty, though. $21 Steak frites were disappointing. The steak part was tough, dry, chewy, and bland. Zero enjoyment out of it. Fries were bland--no seasoning, just a tiny bit of truffle oil drizzle, which didn't help the dish at all. $35 tournedos Rossini was the only enjoyable dish (outside of dessert) of our evening. Good texture of meat and "foie grass". The tiny portion for $35 was definitely not the best bang for your buck, considering you'll leave the table hungry. $8 almond milk chocolate cake was the highlight of our meal. Very delicate and tasty. Not too sweet. However, our slice was TINY. The table next to ours had a normal looking slice, yet ours was 1/10 of it. Felt very disappointed by that. Merlot tasted of cheap alcohol. Coffee was tasty--probably the only thing worth its price in this restaurant. Overall, definitely not a place I can recommend.

Yelp
One of my absolute New York favorites and one of the most unique vegan restaurants around. My family has been frequenting this place since 2017 and it never disappoints. The new location is great and the added space didn't ruin the intimate ambiance at all. I really appreciate how meticulously they replicate French classics plant-based which is not something you get from other vegan places, even fine dining ones. My favorite item on the menu is boeuf bourguignon--absolutely divine. My only very very minor criticism is that while I really appreciate all the carefully crafted faux-meat dishes, I'd love just a tiny bit more of the menu to be true plant-native options. I realize French cooking is very meat heavy and as such it makes sense for the protein options they lay out, but I've had a few vegan friends join me here be a bit turned off by the amount the menu revolves around artificial meat. That said, this is a super minor criticism as the quality of their food is beyond reproach. I will keep coming here and dragging all my out-of-town vegetarian / vegan friends in with me. EDIT: totally forgot to note that we originally found this place as our daughter had a bunch of funky food sensitivities when she was born in 2017 and we had to be soy free vegan for 6 months. Vegan is obviously super easy in this day and age, but soy free was a real challenge as 1) everything has soy in the US 2) restaurants do a horrible job marking where soy is used. I somehow discovered D&S was not only vegan but meticulously marked the soy free items on their menu. It was this that brought us there, but it was their delicious food that kept us coming back long after we were able to bring soy back into our diets.

Liwen H.

Yelp
Great delicious food and attentive services. Best plant-based dining experiences among the five restaurants in NYC so far. The other three were okay and would only recommend this one. The Original Bodai Kosher vegan dim sum were great. I had the sticky rice shu mei, Pan Friend Turnip Cake, and the Tofu Skin Roll (yuba skin). All three have the essences of traditional () dim sum. I love the turnip cake the best. Nice ambiance but it's too crowded. If you don't mind the cramped dining area, this is a must. I recommended!

Yelp
I came here on a weekend for lunch. I feel like the real rating is 4.5 stars, but this was overall a very good experience. The food is genuinely excellent. We had a lot of different dishes, and they were all tasty. The decor is beautiful. But they only had one waiter for the whole back dining room, about seven full tables while I was there. He himself was working very hard, but it was understaffed. We waited well over ten minutes to just get water, for example. That said, I love finding a new vegan spot, and I would return here.

Yelp
I visited New York city recently and had a chance to visit this all vegan French restaurant. The foods are great, tasty, and the service is excellent too. If I ever come back to NYC, I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Yelp
My friend made a reservation for us ahead of time. We were given an indoor table but the outside looked nice so we opted to sit outdoors. Once we sat though, it wasnt as nice as it looked. The table was slanted and there were fans blowing around warm air. We were given menus and a few people came to check on us to order, asking if we were ready. When we said no they turned to leave. After the third time i asked for recommendations and we ordered escargot, boeuf bourguignon. I don't remember what my friend got, i think it was steak tartare. The escargot was fine. Seasoned chopped mushrooms placed into little round spaces. Nothing held them together, i used a fork to scoop it onto the bread. There was also too much bread for the amount of mushrooms. Boeuf Bourguignon was also fine. It was flavorful but I didn't enjoy it that much after the first few bites. The imitation meat was okay, it has a distinct taste to it and I got tired of eating it throughout the meal. I finished about half of it and packed the rest. They gave me one of those small cardboard take out tubs to pack this stew in.... the server said it wouldn't leak but i know that if you leave liquids in it long enough it will be a problem. On the way home a man on the train was asking for leftovers so I gave the rest of the stew to him. I wasn't too interested in finishing the rest at home and he needed food, win-win. I can't recall what my friend ordered (it's in the photo though). She said the patty didn't have that much flavor and would probably be better if it was dipped into the Boeuf Bourguignon sauce. I agree. Our servers didn't really check on us throughout the meal. I had to flag them down twice even though we were sitting right at the opening of the outdoor seating area. In summary: food was mediocre, service was basic, ambiance was alright.

Yelp
Amazing service! A wonderful surprise if you love French cuisine and prefer plant based dining. Lovely setting. Amazing appetizers. And delicious mains. The crème brûlée is to die for!!

Yelp
I believe this is the first French vegan restaurant in the U.S. so props to the restaurant! Additionally it's a family affair. I see in the reviews that true vegans tend to love this restaurant. I mention that because if you're like me, someone who has dined for years on real cheese and meats and who personally loves real chicken liver mousse (apologies to the chicken but I cannot quit), then the flavors of the vegan dishes unfortunately just do not live up. That being said they do put up a pretty impressive fight! All dishes rely heavily on cashews and mushrooms, so if you like neither then do not visit. The escargots does taste very similar but was quite difficult to get out of the spots because it's essentially minced mushroom. The tournedos Rossini was flavorful and filling. We tried the Escalope de Poulet aux Epinards a La crème, and it's both spinach and cashew creamy. Those are not my preferred flavors so I left it to my dinner companion to eat. They also have a nice outdoor area out back but we were getting bitten up by mosquitoes, such is the end of summer.

Yelp
This is my new holy grail restaurant. I am not vegan but I am lactose and garlic intolerant and my date is vegan. This is the first time in years I've been able to enjoy French cuisine without problems from either of my food intolerances. The "cheese" plate was hands down the best vegan cheese I've had, especially the blue cheese. French Onion Soup was gooey and yummy and flavorful. Boeuf Bourginon was delicious and filling and umami. Crème Brûlée was so satisfying to crack, fluffy, and not overly sweet. Our red wine was excellent. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant, and made for a superb date night. My only regrets about this place is that it's in NYC, far from where I live, and the fact that I don't have a huge appetite so I was unable to try every single thing on their menu. I will always make a point to come back here when I visit NYC and I wish they'd publish a cookbook and become a chain.

Yelp
I haven't been here in years but really enjoyed coming back. It's hard to find good vegan crepes and they know how to make them savory and sweet! Amazing crepes (La Lolotte and La Paysanne) - flavorful, good size (big!), and absolutely delicious. Then the pea-protein egg with avocado purée, fresh bread, and spinach - such an egg-like texture and very good. All of this is ideal for sharing. The coffee is also excellent (oat milk cappuccinos pictured) - I've been here before just for coffee and it's worth it, though I would definitely prefer to order food as well!

Yelp
We had seen this venue on instagram and wanted to give it a try. The ambiance right as you walk in is French elegance in a boutique sized restaurant, very fitting for the vibe, and the music is cool instrumental jazz music, which sets the tone. I loved it and I see this to be a fitting place for a romantic date or a fancy night out. They sat us more in the front of the restaurant, near the bar since the "main area" was full. They asked us (in case we'd rather dine in the "action") and we gladly accepted the open table they had. The service was great, from the attentive host to the servers constantly checking up on us, we had to no issues at all and they took our order promptly. They brought out the food at a nice pace, and we started with the "escargot" which was delicious! A very flavorful appetizer that gets you excited for the main course. The Steak frites was an absolute smash hit, and what leaves you floored is the texture. They did a great job simulating the meat along with the flavoring, and the side of fries were on the money. The Tournedos Rossini was also a solid plate, but it may have fell a tad short in comparison to the frites, they definitely stole the show! We didn't get to order any dessert since we were pretty full but we are anxious to come back to try them as well as the other main course meals. A true vegan gem in NY, don't sleep on this establishment , it truly delivers the full experience of French fine dining!

Yelp
The minute you walk in, you feel transported to a cute authentic Parisian cafe with the stone table top and Victorian chairs. Our server was the chefs son who guided us on what to order. Everything vegan, and made in the premises, even the mock meats. We had snails and onion soup for appetizers and then steak fritte for an entree that has the same texture as a steak while the French fries were drizzled in truffle oil. So delicious and so French. Next was the chicken bolognese made from chickpea and oat flour with a cream spinach. Everything was so flavorful and mimicked the meat version . Our dessert was a chocolate crepe with coconut cream. We were stuffed but promised to come back to try more of this very unique vegan French restaurant that will surely asking you for more.

Yelp
Never have I ever been in an environment this hostile. Food was mediocre. Miserable man named Christoph was attending. Slamming dishes and moving in silence. Awful

Yelp
Always a magical treat eating vegan French food. You can't find this anywhere else in the City!

Yelp
In a nutshell: EXCELLENT French Vegan food with MEDIOCRE service. THE GOOD Because it is Christmas and I wanted to make sure I have a special night I made the reservation on Open Table. Everything went smoothly reservation's wise and for other than being dropped off at the wrong side of the street, no hiccups no wait, destination has been confirmed and safe landing. The best is the food period, if you go on a large party or super engaged with your date perhaps you don't perceive or care about other details other than strictly food and in that regard the texture and flavors always meet expectations. THE BAD Perhaps they are expecting patrons to be very methodical and know from beginning to end all they want to eat BOOM, and I'm like, can I breath with the menu for a bit? Like, how much time in advance you need to fire up "complicated" dishes? So I ordered the Brie Roti e Fondant Vegetal with Sauvignon Blanc, not a second passed and even before having a chance to taste the appetizer or getting acquainted with the wine I was already asked what I wanted for the main course, I asked for more time and it might be my perception but it wasn't long for the other waiter to ask again what I wanted for my main... Oh great, rushed into making decisions!!! Happy Christmas to MEEEE!!! THE WORST The transactional and pressured manner to quickly order, ruined what it should had been a beautiful Christmas dining experience. Because of the freezing temperatures, understandably the outdoor dining was out commission yet this restaurant always manage to have a table available. I believe people that order take-out from the restaurant are the smartest of the bunch because my dining experience didn't improved with time, it only worsen. I'm unsure if the tall waiter speaking French was co-owner (logically speaking?) but if he was, either he has no idea what a 5 stars restaurant experience should be like (they're always wearing jeans and t-shirts) so I suppose this is one of those lazy restaurants with lazy underwhelming decor (not even bulbs on the chandelier, do you see?). I mean... dressing like Walmart, treating you like the DMV and charge you Saks 5th Avenue prices, hmmm... NO!!! It is obviously less about the tired casual attire of the waiters, and more about their "We couldn't care less about you, if you leave, another client will take your place" attitude that's really really upsetting. The tagliatelle was lukewarm and compared to other dishes I've had, quite bland in taste. Perhaps adding salt would had saved it but if the Rosé was not able to bring this flavors together... doubt that bothering the waiter for salt wouldn't have been worth it, anyway. The music was depressing at best, if they would had sprinkled some French holiday songs it may have been preferable to the borderline cut-your-wrists music. By the time I ordered dessert, and this time I was the one who had to wait around, I focused more on the joy the ring (thanks Edwin's Jewellers) I got, than the lousy dessert. The Parissiene crepe paired with Sparkling wine its better on paper than reality. Perhaps I was expecting a Nutella-like chocolate explosion and just got another lukewarm treat with store-bought-cocoa-powder-flavor topped with whipped cream it wasn't worth taking a picture of. Perhaps, if you go with friends, perhaps the experience will be more personable than if you're dining by yourself, read - Your value is based on potential spending - Either if one or both waiters believe than treating or other engaging more large groups will result in better tips, more often than not you (they) will get the minimum standard (15-20% in NYC). Meanwhile, solo patrons like us can be and are far more generous. I actually doubted on how to tip because I was sooooo disappointed and yet I tipped if I would had received a good service because the food is what merits the credit. I certainly won't return to this restaurant ever again, the music, the ambiance and definitely the service are just NOT right!

Yelp
Vegan French cuisine...Delice & Sarrasin is definitely the first and only to do this in the City, yet they still remain a hidden gem. Their new location is quaint and beautiful and we enjoyed sitting in the quiet back room. The menu features all of the French classics, the only thing I miss are cocktails-you will only find wine here so take note of that. They do, however, have a delicious Rose! To eat, the Beef Bourguignon is fabulous and a must-order: so rich and salty in the best way possible. I also love their Mr. Sanguin crepe, which is a nice mix of sweet and savory wrapped in a tasty buckwheat crepe. The Escargot app is a classic. The Steak Frites was decent, but not my favorite. The truffle fries it was served with could have used a tad more salt and flavor, but were nonetheless tasty. I also really appreciate the portion sizes: the plates are more on the small side, which I think is perfect because that means you get to order and try more.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! I'm French and vegetarian, and it's difficult if not impossible to find a French restaurant that offers traditional French food suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Often we only have just 2 or 3 options at best. This restaurant is the first I go to that offers authentic, traditional French cuisine that is 100% vegan and 100% delicious. My friends and I got the escargots, brie, coq au vin, poulet basquaise, ratatouille, and a buckwheat galette, and some desserts. Everything was tasty and very close to the original meat/dairy recipes. Excellent "veganisation" of the all recipes. I wish they would open another restaurant in the San Francisco area where I live, so I could eat there all the time.

Yelp
Outstanding! Definitely among my top 10 dining experiences of all time, and my dining partner agrees! I'm not vegan anymore, but I was for 6 years, so I have plenty of previous experiences to compare this to. The steak was so realistic, my dining partner and I were nervous for a moment that maybe it was meat! The truffle fries were absolutely perfect in texture and flavor. And the lavender rice pudding was out of this world. I'm a big fan of florals in cuisine, which is hard enough to find, and even harder to perfect -- but this dessert was truly PERFECT. And finally, the space was simply gorgeous and elegant, and a huge upgrade from their original space which felt too cramped and uncomfortable. Between the great food, beautiful space, and excellent service, we will definitely be back ASAP.
