DeLille En Ville - Review - University District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"University Village just got an offshoot of thisWoodinville-based winery. Those shopping at the mall can stop in for a glass of wine, as well as lunch and dinner. The food menu lists a bunch of fancy snacks like oysters, caviar toasts, and grilled quail, but you can also find burgers and salads." - Gabe Guarente

Finally, a restaurant worth visiting in UVillage! I made reservations for a business dinner here on a weekday night and did not realize how busy it would be. The hostess sat is in the solarium with the most comfortable seats. The overall experience was phenomenal starting with our server, the food and the interior design. We ordered the Duck Liver Pate, Red Wine Poached Pear Salad, Steak Frites and Pasta. All were incredibly amazing and the portions were much larger than we anticipated. The steak Frites were orderes medium rare. The meat was tender, juicy and savory. The fries were generously loaded on the plate and shareable with two other people. Our server did a fantastic job taking care of us, considering the volume of people in the establishment.

Generic restaurant with subpar food. Went for brunch, left with a mouth stinging with salt. The hash wasn’t anything noteworthy, but the crab salad was absolutely awful! The bed of frisée and other micro greens was caked in salt and not edible. We asked for a remake of the greens and got wilted salad covered with salt and nothing else — NOT lemon, olive oil, NOTHING. Just take a look at the photos. (The music was obnoxious and random.) Pass on yet another poorly executed corporate idea.

I first wanted to commend this restaurant for phenomenal service, they were very accommodating when we learned of some new guests to a family dinner we had here. Along with that I found the menu to have a good mix of Seattle cuisine classics with kales and cabbages with salmon and the use of duck and other sea food spot on, while things such as steak frites easy for classic and less adventurous palletes though executed to perfection. The one thing I would change is how the pate is served, a whipped one is easier to spread and the glass jar was just not very conducive. The bread was also great and I am always a sucker for mushrooms and arugula. I personally had the duck and tried a mix of other plates seen below and I have to say the puffed wild rice was such a great textural add that I will now be adding to my home cooking

Mid food, decent wine, great service. I stopped in for lunch and they were offering a 3 course (app, main, dessert) “restaurant week” option for $35 Butternut squash soup was nicely spiced but tepid. The duck confit pasta was well cooked; duck was tender and juicy, but I thought the dish needed a touch of acid or heat to balance the high fat content. The flavors and textures were all one note . The dessert was the worst out of everything. The panna cotta was gummy and rubbery and not creamy. Maybe too much gelatin? And the cookie was so sad :’( For the wine I had: DeLille, Forget-Me-Not Blanc de Blancs, nv. DeLille, Rosé, 2024. DeLille, Red Blend, 2023 - En Ville Exclusive Métier, Red Blend, 2022. Métier, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2022. Forget me not was surprising my favorite. I didn’t love the reds I tried this time, but have enjoyed other DeLille served at their Woodinville tasting room. My server, Angel, was great and knowledgeable on the wines. Thank you, Angel.

Absolutely loved this spot and will definitely be back! It was very aesthetic inside. We went for the happy hour and ordered the pomme fries and the halibut dip - both were delicious and I’d highly recommend 🥂 love this addition to university village!

We went on opening night and loved it! The beet salad, tuna cucumber salad, and 7-hour lamb were all delicious, and the olive cake was a perfect finish. Great service and a welcoming atmosphere—we’ll definitely be back!

We dined at DeLille a few days ago. We found most of the food to be excellent. The fries that come with the steak frites were extraordinary, some of the best we've had. The dessert - clafouti - was out of this world. Our server told us it was the first time the chef had tried it. It is a keeper! The quail dish was not as successful - not an effective pairing of ingredients. But overall the meal was excellent and the service superb. (The restaurant is much too loud when it is close to full. Some rugs would help a lot.)

Google
We’ve loved The Restaurant at the DeLille Tasting Room in Woodinville for years. DeLille en Ville in u village has even more impressive food, if that is even possible. We had the Black Cod and Mafaldine pasta with lamb shank. Both were really so well done. The fish held its bite well and the sear on the skin was so tasty. The pasta was cooked to perfection, tasted fresh and homemade and flavor was so good. And while known for the wine, their cocktails are too notch! It was a little loud in the restaurant - maybe echoy - Cheers!

Yelp
We had been to the DeLille Winery in Woodinville and were excited when this opened in U Village. This is not exactly like the Woodinville one, but maintains the high standards and absolutely worth a visit. The interior is very nice and new. I love their wines and usually have the D2. They have a wine here that was unique to the restaurant and may be a little better, just outstanding. Service was good, if slow at times (particularly waiting for food). We started with the cheese plate. It was great, with four cheeses that were all delicious and some great crostini. The large plate was good for a group of four. For the main course, I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked perfectly and really wonderful. My wife had the salmon with cabbage of all things--but that was just perfect as well. Everyone loved their meals. Then for dessert we split something that I do not remember name, but had layers of pastry with a cream in the middle and a fantastic caramel sauce. Superb finish to a superb meal. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Review based on brunch service only. DeLille En Ville is a great addition to UVillage and it's nice to have restaurant option that has a more 'adult vibe'. The decor/feel is different from their Woodinville restaurant, it has a bright and warm feel and there was a private section I think for DeLille members. There was also a semi-private section which is great option if you have a lare party. On to the menu - overall I felt like there was good selection for shareables lunch/brunch and heavier plates - it wasn't too little or too much. Price wise, it seemed a bit high but comparable for similar style restaurants. It's nice that you can also just grab coffee and go without dining. Food: Mimosa with mango juice: this was delicious! The bubbly was great - I wish I ordered a bottle! Croque Monseiur: good size for the price, it was hearty, cheesy and good amount of ham with a good balance of mornay sauce - it was just enough to sop the bread. The salad was simple but tasty and was not overdressed. Egg came late, so the croque was not as warm anymore. Apple & Hazelnut Mille Feuille: good option if you're looking for something light. The apple butter and vanilla cream was a tasty combo, the cream had a nice dense but light texture - it'd be be great to add on top of ice cream! Service: front of house was friendly and welcoming and our server was nice and helpful. Not sure if they didn't hear about the egg for croque monseiur, so it didn't come with it when served. When asked about it, he said it was an extra fee and we informed them that we know about it and still wanted it. My friend and I were surprised that they didn't take our dishes back - instead they were left at our table and the eggs came out seperately. While I was observing the other tables, it seemed like it took some time for servers to get orders or even check up on them. All in all- it was a good experience. I would for sure go back for drinks and try other dishes - great place to meet with friends, but will wait until some of the service wrinkles are ironed out.

Yelp
I'm a member with Delille Winery and was super excited to see that they're opening another location in UW Village! My husband and I came on a Saturday afternoon after opening weekend. Around 1pm, there is plenty of spots to choose from and the decor/atmosphere is super on-trend and beautiful. I loved the arched doorways and the hidden wine members only area. We ordered a flight each (the essentials one) and both an amuse bouche to start; followed by the duck pate and then ordered 2 items off their Happy Hour (which starts at 3pm!). Everything was delicious! Wine is always great; but the food itself came in good sized portions and very tasty. I loved it! A bit on the expensive side but the portions made up for it and I didn't have to wait long. The service was where it left a lot to be desired. Our waiter is clearly new (it's a new restaurant) and didn't know the menu well or the discount offered to members. Speaking of member benefits, it's only 20% off the beverage list when you're in the Dining Room! I honestly was expecting more, but since we already sat down - we still ordered the wine flight. After our meal, we walked over to the member area and that's when THAT waiter told us that the benefits are 50% off wine in the Wine Room! What?! Why didn't anyone tell us that sooner?? The food options are also different (smaller plates) but I would've preferred it. Overall - experience was mixed. Food was great - and not a lot of people so no reservations required. Service was okay... but the lack of member benefits was a bit of a miss. Next time, I may just stay in Woodinville and go to their actual tasting room and restaurant.

Yelp
We had the best time today, trying out this new restaurant for lunch. We were seated in the back, side room, which was a lot less noisy than when you first walk in the door. We had a great table and an even better waiter. He attended to everything that we asked for. The cappuccinos were wonderful, the Quish, Lorraine, and freeze salad or spectacular, and the two complementary birthdate desserts were out of this world.

Yelp
The new DeLille En Ville is a delight! The space is beautifully decorated and bright -- think marble tiles, wood and brass details, jewel tones. We were seated in the solarium, which is a really lovely bright and airy space too. They just opened two weeks ago. We walked in around 4:30pm without a reservation and were seated but I think they do get a lot of reservations, so consider making one. The service was kind and attentive. The focus is very much restaurant complemented by the wine and even some cocktails; this is by DeLille but it's really not a tasting room. We went for happy hour and were happy with the selection of bites, cocktails and wines by the glass. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was good, the fries were especially good. This is a lovely spot for a quick drink and snack or to settle in for a meal and drinks. I will happily come back here.

Yelp
We made reservations for Friday during their grand opening. I have mixed feelings about this place for now. There's nothing glaringly wrong but I felt that the experience and food was not worth the price point. You can easily spend $100 - $150 per person with drinks, an app or dessert, and main course. With that price point, I'd expect to be wowed by something, but this experience left me pretty ambivalent. Nothing about the experience left me feeling like "you have to try this!" or like they had a competitive advantage over other restaurants of the same price point when it came to taste of food, drinks, or apps/dessert. This place has a different vibe than the Woodinville restaurant. The front area is a lounge where you could have coffee during the day. On a sunny day, this would be a nice place to sit but it felt drab for dinner after dark. As you move back into the restaurant, there is a back room with blue walls that feels much more like a dinner spot. There's lots of nooks and crannies throughout the place that could make it interesting for private groups. I would like to eat dinner in the blue room if I return, saving the front room for lunch, happy hour, or coffee. I love duck dishes and carrots and neither left me feeling like I would come back for them. The duck lacked richness of flavor despite the accouterments and the carrots were too soft. Don't get me wrong, they were both decent but not memorable. The best food we had was the apple mille-feuille for dessert. I'd never had mille-feuille before, so it was fun to try! Crispy and tasty! The drink menu is extensive, as you'd expect from a place associated with a winery, so I would like to explore more of that! If you want to check this place out, I'd recommend coming for happy hour drinks before committing to a full dinner. I'd be willing to come back but would wait a while until they find their groove on the food menu.

Yelp
Pretty good! Jason our server was fantastic during the soft-opening. Good ambiance and lighting. Seafood was great and steak frites were delicious. The meat was too chewy for my taste but overall delicious. Panzanella was ok but worth a try. Great wines as always. Thank you, Jason!

Yelp
Such a beautifully decorated restaurant in U Village! Came for the wine tasting but also tried some of their French dishes. The seafood risotto was very uniquely tangy and not overly creamy and the assorted bread slices were large and moist. Did the 3 reds tasting and ended up taking a bottle of Pinot noir home. Also loved the 2024 rose and took that home as well (although they ran out of wine bags). Our waiter was funny and even found a coffee shop inside as well.

Yelp
So excited that DeLille en Ville is finally open! I'm a big fan of their tasting room in Woodinville and thrilled they opened a location in Seattle. I went with a few friends for happy hour. We ordered a few apps to share - cheese board, bread, charcuterie, and fries and each did a custom flight. I was quite surprised that it was only $30/person including tax and tip. The interior of the restaurant is stunning and conveniently located in University Village. Stop in for a glass and some bites before a husky game or shopping! Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
Really appreciated that De Lille has brought a sweet piece of their Woodinville pie to U-Village! First off you can't go wrong with their extensive list of wines and if you're unsure of what to pair with your food the servers are sure to get you onto the right choice. We started off with the Grilled & Chilled blue prawns that had a nice slight char with cocktail sauce under a bed of crunchy pickled cukes. The Washington Salad came loaded with bing cherries and a nice cherry vinaigrette dressing and is large enough with some added protein for a meal itself. For mains we all had the steak frittes that was a nice NY strip steak with a matrie'd butter, au jus and aioli. The bottle of 2023 DeLille Chleur Blanc was the perfect pairing for our entire dinner. Our server was very helpful and making sure we had a wonderful experience. The dining area is quite large and there's a bar set in the middle of the dining area. It is lively and can get busy at peak dinner hours but you can book a table on their website to save any grief in waiting or not being able to be seated at your preferred time. Definitely will come back and would like to try their brunch!

Yelp
Decent but expensive brunch spot at a newly remodeled space at U-Village. There are quality ingredients in their dishes, like their grilled chicken sandwich which was tender and nicely seasoned, came with a delicious aioli sauce, and a ton of fries. My wife ordered their veggie hash that also was generously portioned, but we felt like it didn't have enough seasoning to bring out the flavors, or could use a char to add texture. We asked for hot sauce to add on but even that was rather bland. Mango mimoso was delicious, but at $16 a glass it's not cheap. Overall service was a little slow, like we got seated quickly but at least ten minutes passed before someone stopped by to bring us water and take our order. I think the bartender was doing double duty at the bar and our table so that might be why. She checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we wanted so I appreciate that as the meal went on.

Yelp
I love Quiche. I had the quiche Lorraine and it was yummy. The side salad was delicious. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
First time & it looked interesting.. no reservations, sat at the bar & service was decent. Risotto was exceptional! The menu was so-so, nothing really exceptional. Have dined in better restaurants with specialty menu, price equating to a delicious outstanding dish. Again, it was so-so. THEN! The turn off .... All Gender Restroom. Not a fan & felt very unsafe Restrooms are a personal space don't need a man in the same room, don't even do that at home. What's up with that!

Yelp
This was my third time at DeLille En Ville and much better than my first visits. This time it was 5 star. The hostess welcomed us as wine club members, and we were treated with an amazing little starter of figs and cheese. Service was warm, prompt and personable. Our main courses mouthwatering and delightful! I had the pasta and lamb with a salad, my friend had the steak. Both were flavorful and beautifully presented. We finished with the olive cake and a special treat of macaroons and a puff pastry. We will be back.

Yelp
Food: * blanc de blancs (glass)// $16 score 6/10 * pomme frites// $14 score 8/10 *needs more sauce. Sauce to fries ratio is unbalanced. * carnaroli risotto// $28 score 7/10 * espresso martini// $16 score 3/10 *abysmal. As soon as it was dropped at my table, I knew the taste would be off due to the color. Hardly any foam to top, it was a v light brown, no depth or dark, rich brown. Alcohol heavy. * olive oil cake// $12 score 9/10 I was also charged $2 for the sauce to-go w the fries I had not finished. I felt this was a bit overindulgent to charge for, given the plethora of fries does not come with an adequate amount of sauce in the original plating. Service: Izzy M.// Izzy was pleasant, always asked if I had what I needed, and promptly packed my to-gos, as well as walked me to the restroom area. She did seem busy upon being seated, and it did take 10 minutes+ for me to receive my glass of Chardonnay; however, it was their first day open, and the final half of my experience she was more relaxed and promptly. Ambiance: Assuming their audience is the "Housewives of Bellevue" that drop by for lunch and discuss LuLu Lemon's latest drop, they've hit the nail on the head. It's beige and giving CB2 and Pottery Barn had a baby, and that baby grew up to be a nepotism hire with their deepest quality being their wallet.

Yelp
So excited to catch DeLille En Ville on their first day of Brunch service! The menu is awesome. The service is awesome. The location is awesome! Run, don't walk to this one!

Frances C.

Yelp
Revisited recently. Really liked additions to the menu. Everyone in my group of five loved their choice. Comfortable seating and a popular spot! Attentive service.

Leslie T.

Yelp
Made reservations online for a friend's bday. When we checked in they said they were having trouble with their online booking syncing and didn't actually reserve the tables--like they double booked. They said they'd seat us in the wine member room instead. We were the only 2 people in the room the entire time and honestly it felt like we were hidden away. Disappointed we didn't get to experience the dining room like we booked. Food and wine were good but ambiance was truly lacking.

Shami M.

Yelp
We were excited to try the new DeLille and for opening night they tried. Service was excellent but you could def see they are still ironing out. I can only speak for my food which I would say was the best. So go for the steak, go for the nicoie salad and go for chicken liver pate.

Yelp
Great spot in UVillage that is designed to feel like a cozy restaurant while still offering lots of dining spaces. We went for the soft opening and were greeted by friendly staff. The cheese plate was excellent, as was the fried chicken sandwich with side salad. The beet salad was a miss, but luckily the chicken sandwich was big enough to share. We will definitely return!

Julie B.

Yelp
What a disappointment. Went with a group of 8 wine lovers. Have been to DeLille in Woodinville many and enjoyed the wine and environment. Was so excited that DeLille was coming to my neighborhood. We had a reservation and were seated in the middle of their jam packed back room. It was obnoxiously loud. So loud that our watches gave a loud environment warning. There was an open table in the corner separated by curtains and I asked the server if we could move there. She said she didn't know. I mentioned that it was hard to have a conversation while wine tasting and she made a point to correct me that they don't do wine tasting there. They do wine flights (apparently you don't taste when you have a flight?!). The server returned to say that the table I requested would "cost extra". A few minutes later the (very nice) manager came to the table to tell us they discovered the room noise was a big problem when they opened and were working to make it better. But moving to the requested table would not be quieter (even though it was open, in the corner, and separated by a curtain??). She would try to move us elsewhere in the restaurant, but couldn't do it anytime soon. We split a couple of bottles of wine and a cheese plate while shouting at our friends directly next to us. Then left to get dinner elsewhere. C'mon DeLille, don't pack a room when you know you have a noise problem. For $40 for a cheese plate that serves one, you're going to have to do better in the customer service department.

Yelp
Very pretty place . Great service . Hope they can improve the food little . Will love to go back again .

Cali H.

Yelp
This place is so perfect! we came for happy hour and the selection was amazing as well as the prices. The service was outstanding and they were big on keeping your area clean and tidy, only what you need in front of you which I love. The ambiance is gorgeous which is a plus too. The bartenders were very friendly and personable, they checked in the perfect amount. Will definitely come back for dinner. Shoutout Mario and Donny!

Pepper D.

Yelp
Such a beautiful new spot in U Village. We were greeted warmly and welcomed immediately when we arrived. Our server was a lot of fun and friendly without being pushy. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered two small plates, both truly delicious. We had the steak for dinner, which was perfectly cooked at medium rare. And the wine - well, the restaurant is fabulous - but their wine is absolutely the best. We had a really lovely date and night and can't wait to go back and share the experience with friends. Highly recommend!

Michael S.

Yelp
Even tho they just opened, the food, vibes, and service were like they had been doing this for years. All of the food we ordered was too tier, especially the smoked halibut. Even though they are known for their wines, I was surprised by how good they cocktails were as well. Great spot to hang out whether you are out shopping or for the sole reason to go to U Village.

Joyce V.

Yelp
Beautiful new space! Bright, cozy and elegant. Lovely cocktails. The food is nicely curated and simply delicious. The quail was perfectly cooked and a nice portion. Of course all the wines go without saying, but we did have a som come by and recommend a wine to go with our varied entrees. Definitely going back!

Yelp
We live in the east side so we've been to the Woodinville location many times and almost always have a great meal. We went for the soft opening since we have a friend that works in Woodinville. So I'll just caveat this as feedback for which I'm sure they will adjust because it's early days. First the space is awesome. People will love it. Very French bistro feeling. Only weird thing was the unisex bathrooms but it's more like individual bathrooms with common handwashing area. Different but ok. Service was very slow. They've adopted another French technique of team waiting and they haven't nailed it down yet. I think we had five or six people cone to the table. It was disorganized. But like I said I'm sure they will fix it. They have drinks and beer and of course Delille wine. No problems there. Salads and appetizers were excellent. We had a round of oysters and they were excellent too. Noise level is acceptable not too loud. One other thing is we tried a variety of wines and they kept bring new glasses but were slow to pick up the old ones. Just keep the glasses no need for new ones. Now for the low point. Entrees. I had steak frites and it was excellent. But my companions entrees were almost inedible. First they were cold. Cardinal sin. The mixed seafood dish looked unappealing. My other friend got risotto and it was cold and bland. I would hold off for a few weeks while they work out the kinks.

Lara B.

Yelp
Great new spot. The fries are super good and a good staple but the sauce is not enough which I think they should know. They charged extra for more sauce which I saw another commenter mention here too. DeLille please give us more sauce or no charge for extra sauce.

Carl C.

Yelp
New, beautifully designed space makes dining a very pleasant experience. our waiter, Izzy, was very attentive, as were the others who assisted. I wish more small plates were offered because we wanted to try a variety of dishes. Our favorites were the carrots and the NW salad. The wine, as expected, was great. We will be back!

Mona A.

Yelp
Excellent all around! Great food and service! I highly recommend! DeLille En Ville is such a fantastic addition to U Village!

Yelp
Amazing cocktails, ambience, service and cuisine. The expo was magnificent. I'm going back soon.

Yelp
Great food, great wine! Cocktails are well crafted. Service was excellent, love the new space. I recommend!
