Ordered a lavender mocha, latte, and americano for the group on a rainy Sunday morning. Pastries looked great, good vibes and lots of outdoor seating too. Very close to beach.

Google
Fantastic, incredibly delicious coffee!! My oat milk latte was so beautiful and had the most amazing flavor, very nutty and roasted. There was lots of seating inside and outside, lots of places to sit down. The service was fast and the baristas were very nice. They have a bathroom inside as well. I highly recommend it!

Google
I got a too tier cortado here! The line moved fairly fast and we were able to snag a table. It's a small place for how busy they are, but i think it's just right for the vibe.

Google
A small café with carefully crafted coffee drinks. The Kyoto-style cold brew is excellent. The staff is passionate about coffee. It’s quiet enough to work, but seating is limited. A great spot for coffee enthusiasts.

Google
We found this place by searching for a coffee shop while visiting Santa Monica Pier. It had good ratings so we decided this was the place to visit. When you walk in, there is a Kyoto iced coffee contraption which is dripping ice water one drop at a time to make the iced coffee. I didn’t try it, but I’d like to. The Cappuccino was great and very strong which is exactly how I like it. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and we sat outside. We had no complaints at all about this place and recommend it.

Google
Love this place, super quality matcha and a great blend with orange syrup. Very cute outdoor sitting and cozy indoor

Google
A place where people care about their craft - and it shows in the attention to detail. The Kyoto cold brew is incredible, and they even serve it in a pitcher with an icecube inside a hollow to keep the coffee cold without watering it down. I asked about the coffee’s story, and found out that managers Bobby and Carlos taste-tested grind settings to find the perfect combination. It’s expensive, but you pay for quality. Plus - for a place run by coffee nerds, the vibe is remarkably warm, homey, and unpretentious. Feels more like a small European cafe than most places I’ve found in California. Definitely recommend!

Google
Their matcha latte is truly exceptional - creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced with a vibrant, earthy flavor that stands out. You can tell they use high-quality matcha, which makes all the difference. The cafe itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a modern vibe that's perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The staff is also very friendly. Demitasse is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a quality matcha latte or explore unique, expertly crafted drinks!

Yelp
found street parking close by, so that was a definite plus. waited around until they opened since i had gotten there too early. but it was definitely worth the wait! got the seasonal santas little helper and added a shot. OMG it was sooo good *drool* would definitely go back just for this. did taste a lot more like just a hot chocolate though than something that had coffee in it. next time i'd do a double lol workers were super nice. a few tables inside where its warmer, but i also saw some tables outside too

Yelp
Hit or miss. Mostly a miss. Lemon Thyme tea has been the unique tea for months now, it is no longer drinkable for me. Wish they would explore other flavors. Aside from the limited flavors, it's $5.50 for tea without tip. That means it's $5.50 for a green tea packet that literally costs 20 cents..i would understand if they had lemon and honey for you to make your own tea at the side bar but they don't..no honey or lemon..just overpriced nonsense.. People working are nice tho.

Yelp
Loooove loove love Demitasse. This review is way overdue as I have been coming here consistently over the past two years since they have some of the best coffee in the West LA/SM area. I always stick with the same drink order of an iced minty cubano (latte with mint syrup made in-house). It isn't overly sweet, their coffee is never bitter and it's just amazing, creamy goodness in a cup. They sell their own beans too~ They have a pretty large pastry selection as well; my favs are the ham&cheese croissant, choc croissant and the raspberry pistachio danish--which I think was seasonal and I really hope they bring it back ): The staff are incredibly sweet and welcoming, they make sure to show appreciation to their regulars and are always in a good mood~ They have indoor and outdoor seating options, both of which I have utilized to get some work/studying done. There are a few outlets inside but it tends to get quite cold in there. I appreciate they have a restroom for customers though! I recommend this place to everyone and have even brought visiting family and friends here. Only downside is that they don't warm up your pastries, which isn't a huge deal but I know most cafes at the top of my list do this. Oh well, it hasn't stopped me from frequenting this place(:

Yelp
They have a nice outdoor patio space to hangout in the front and a small interior. Most importantly they also have a public bathroom which I feel like is rare for the area. I think they mostly focus on coffee with a few food options. I got the croissant and it was good but I wish there was more of a variety (maybe pastries aren't popular?) a friend of mine go the breakfast burrito but I heard it may be made by another business but it looked good. Service was also quick even though there was a ton of people when I went

Yelp
Been here twice when visiting my friend Matt and usually try out a seasonal drink. Their iced noggy 'n nice latte was delightful. You can find eggnog, nutmeg and espresso and an extra non alcoholic ingredient in this seasonal drank. Not too heavy or creamy and I had my doubts bc of eggnog. Demitasse also serves a rich mocha if you're fond of rich and decent lattes. All in all, Bodhi approved!

Yelp
i've now been to Demitasse twice and been really happy with it both times. It is such a cute coffee shop with a few outdoor seats that have the nicest summertime vibes. I like this coffee shop because they have a good range of items drinkwise and foodwise, so there's truly something for everyone. tons of baked goods, even though they gave me the wrong item last time and I saw them give the wrong item to someone this time too lol but everything is pretty good so even if you get the wrong, you're probably still gonna be happy like I was! However, for me it's all about the Kyoto Slow Drip Iced coffee - if you don't get this, you're doing it wrong. It tastes so rich and delicious, unlike any coffee I've had before. It doesn't hurt how cute although merch is and funny slogans. My coffee cup sitting in front of me says a yarn is a silent screen for coffee, lol. #Truth. I've also had their cookies and variously stuffed croissants- all stellar. I'm eating the ham and cheese croissant while writing this review, looking at the beach, and this is quite instagrammable with a mini pickle on top! Parking has always hit easy for me but I may have gotten lucky with parallel street metered spots each time. Service works. Bonus, they have a rewards program so be sure to enter your phone number at check out.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday morning around 8:30 and there were seating available. Great place to work at, chat with friends, eat breakfast. Close to 3rd street promenade. Interior is cozy, outdoor patio is cute. Dog friendly so you'll see lots of dogs here. Got the chai latte and it wasn't too sweet. I did have to add sweetener ($0.35) because it's just a spiced chai. Good tea flavor. Parking available for free 1.5 hours at public lots.

Yelp
I was told today "OH we're out of water" The care a business has for it's neighbor's and they how the care for the entrance of their business is a representation of what's going on inside. Demitasse is filthy out front and their lack of care is apparent. I stopped in on my walk today and said to the 4 employees.... Hey guys, I've asked many time before at least 4 times..... Why don't you clean the front of your business it would look so beautiful. A little soap, water and a scrub would go a long way and it could look so nice and beautiful. The snarky response I got from a staff member was "Oh we're out of water" I have been a customer many times. I'm a neighbor, I live on 3rd street one block from Demitasse. No longer a customer. Just a neighbor.

Yelp
Glad I got here before the morning rush! Tried on a Saturday morning and the line was out the door. Got the iced minty cubano & the white miso kouign amann. I love the caramel bottom on the kouign amann. It provided a nice texture difference to the pastry and the filling. It was also the perfect size. The minty cubano was DELICIOUS. Super refreshing and I thought the way they made it had a nice ice to drink ratio. It wasn't overwhelmingly minty but you could definitely taste the mint. There's definitely seating here if you want to get your items to consume at the location. There's some tables that line the left side of the wall inside but there's also a really cute parklet with seating outside.

Yelp
Worth the walk to come here for their iced coffee . Staff is super nice. Great outside patio area Life is too short for starbucks

Yelp
I love this place so much I started ordering the coffee in the mail after I moved away from LA. The coffee is delicious whether you're in the shop or at home!

Yelp
Came here with some friends after running a 10k on a Saturday morning in Santa Monica. It's a little further west of 3rd street Promenade. Inside was pretty busy. Most of the tables were taken, so we just got coffee to-go. Like 5 other customers came in after us, so we just beat the rush! I bought a bag of beans and found out that it came with a free drink so I went with the cold brew, which hit the spot! I was feeling a bit of an energy slump, but the coffee picked it right back up. The cold brew was refreshing and not too watered down. The interior was nicely decorated, cute place to meet up with friends or for a casual date. Would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.
google avatar

Ari G.

Yelp
Wasn't much of a fan of my iced chai latte. They don't put lids on the Togo cups- when I put a lid on it spilled so i had to clean up half my drink off the table and left to go sip my chai in shame.

Yelp
Ok coffee. Not bad but also not great especially since you're in Santa Monica and near great coffee options. One plus is that it is walking distance to the promenade so it's a great coffee option if you want to walk, sight see and caffeinate. Cappuccino - came out lukewarm, smooth well balanced and not bitter coffee beans, but very milky in taste. The cappuccino also lacked layers and the milk was more foam than a smooth creamy texture. Lavendar latte - came out lukewarm, good blend but you can tell the Lavendar syrup was more on the artificial confectionary sweet side that you can buy off of Amazon. Possibly if it was served warm/hot, it'd hide the flaws of the Lavendar syrup but unfortunately it was just an average cup. Con: * when I came, all their 'specialty lattes' were scratched off the board (eg. No pistachio, no rose...etc). They only had vanilla, mocha and lavender. They also had a s'mores latte but it looked really heavy as it was served with cream, mocha, chocolate, and an actual marshmallow and graham cracker. With the Lavendar latte already being overly sweet, this looked like a hard pass as I also noticed everyone in the shop didn't finish theirs. Ambiance: * lots of wooden benches and pillows on the inside. Small tables so better for lounging as opposed to working. A few tables outside. Parking: * expensive meter parking (had a good chuckle when I realized it was $7.50 for meter. Admittedly we did stay for 3 hrs). There's also a Parking garage parking around the corner in which the price is pretty reasonable for the first 2 hrs. TLDR, I'd only come again if I was in the area and wanted a coffee while walking up and down the promenade. Would not make it a point to come here.

Yelp
Quiet cozy corner of downtown Santa Monica. I always try to make a stop here when I'm around. They're a little pricey, but it's definitely worth it if you're in the area and want decent coffee in a sea of Starbucks. I usually go for the Kyoto slow drip cold brew, but they've got an assortment of interesting flavored lattes if that's more your jam, as well as a wide variety of tea.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Pretty bog-standard for a coffee shop, but as benefits their near-ocean-front location, they have a pretty typical contemporary vibe, just enough seating, fast service, and quality drinks. However, you're paying for both the location and the quality, and pricing here is best described as not cheap.
google avatar

Alonso C.

Yelp
Honestly nothing special. I've been here twice and both times the drinks were subpar. Although the staff was nice and the place was clean, the drinks are supposed to be better. I'm told that their seasonal drinks are better than their regular menu.
google avatar

Greg H.

Yelp
A staple in the Santa Monica community, I just had to stop by for a quick coffee before continuing my day. Always fast service and delicate care with their pastries and unique coffee creations, I'll always be sure to bring a book and enjoy a drink while in town.
google avatar

Armen G.

Yelp
It's cool coffee shop but as customer feel they use cheap, old chairs and tables, you making a lot of money spend little bit on you stuff don't be cheap and 8 oz coffee 5.50 cents!!!! Wow
google avatar

Sheila K.

Yelp
Excellent coffee. Excellent service. The only issue I have is with their loud harsh music. It's 10am and inside sounds like a club. Outside is lovely!
google avatar

Shelly S.

Yelp
I enjoy this spot because of their seasonal specials. Last Halloween, I enjoyed a rosemarys baby coffee, which had tons of fresh rosemary and something I've never tried before. I recently came in for the s'mores mocha, which is on the sweeter side. Outdoor and small indoor seating, but work and dog friendly which is great.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
This place gives off the best vibes and serves up seriously delicious drinks! They have a great variety of luxurious classics and inventive specials. I got the matcha latte because I'm addicted- it was beautiful, the perfect temperature, and matchalicious!! The service was peak! They were very patient & kind when placing our orders and spread smiles all around. And all the customers seemed so happy and chill. Overall, a really great spot for a pick me up!

Yelp
Somebody get Demitasse a plaque for 'World's best coffee'. My coworkers and I were in desperate need of a caffeine kick and Demitasse came to our rescue. This small coffee shop sits in Downtown Santa Monica. It has a limited number of seats both inside and outside. If you're lucky enough to snag one, it would be the perfect spot to get some work done. They have a number of fancy drip coffees and seasonal bevies. I ended up grabbing the Latte in Bloom iced with oat milk. This was served with pear and ginger syrup, cardamom, black walnut powder, and a spritz of orange blossom. It was the perfect balance of creamy, fruity and floral. I'll absolutely be back to explore more of their menu and their baked goods. They had a vegan matcha donut that is definitely calling my name.
google avatar

Lily P.

Yelp
Cute cafe for a quick stop for coffee or matcha. However, the juice is VERY overpriced - I don't remember the exact amount anymore, but it was in the ballpark of $12-16 for a small bottle of juice. I would stop by again for a coffee, matcha, or perhaps a specialty beverage, but I will not make the mistake of adding on a juice again.
google avatar

Lily D.

Yelp
Great location and not super busy, good vibes and great large menu. Love the front patio and side tables. I like that they have specials that are ever changing.

Yelp
We walked in on Sunday afternoon at 2:30. The place was a mess, the counter was soiled with spilled coffee and crumbs. We ordered a (hot) cappuccino and (hot) chai latte and found a table. All the tables were littered with crumbs and dried-up coffee drips; the floors were a mess littered with crumbs, napkins and assorted mess, the display-cooler holding water and juice had towels on the floor, since it must have been leaking. We were disgusted, figured we already ordered, so try not to let it bother us. The drinks came and my coffee-addict BF said his cappuccino had a subtle smell of vinegar. My chai latte was a total fail. The top of the drink had such a sizable dowsing of cinnamon on top I got a mouthful of dry cinnamon on top of the bitter chai tea with no sweetener. I did not request a less-sweet drink. It was so disappointing, it seemed useless to complain, with so many terrific nearby coffee shops we'll simply go elsewhere. NOTE: I really HATE to write negative reviews as it's hard to run a business and I don't want to harm people trying to make a living. But we work hard and don't want to waste money on sub-par food.
google avatar

Jenny E.

Yelp
I have a love hate relationship with Demitasse. Some of my pros/cons: Their coffee is good, however, they do not have just a plain vanilla latte. Their chai is bad, it tastes very watery with little flavor. I cannot speak for the matcha, but at the price point of their drinks, I'm not sure if it's worth coming back to try. The pastries are good, but nothing mind blowing imo. The restaurant is very cute and the staff is super friendly! Decent amount of seating indoor/outside and I believe they have free WiFi. Prices are average for a coffee shop in Los Angeles.
google avatar

Eriko P.

Yelp
Very cozy artisan coffee and tea shop with delicious pastries. Today I just wanted to try something from their Seasonal Menu. I ordered the Hot Apple Cider, $6. It was so tasty, I want to go home and make my own. My friend ordered a latte and we sat inside to sip our drinks before leaving to do our errands. The staff here are all very friendly with a smile. In the past, I have had some of their pastries. The ham and cheese croissant with a gerkin ( pickle) on top is my favorite. This is a meal! Do come in, pause, soak in the atmosphere. I felt like I was in Europe!

Yelp
Friday afternoon - lavender liquid hot chocolate Service: no comment Ambiance: casual Price: no comment Food quality: the lavender liquid hot chocolate is quite interesting, love the texture and presentation, however.... Remarks: In terms of indoor decor, all the furnitures and fixtures are aging and worn out, stains all over the bench, very unpleasant. A neutral experience, period
google avatar

John Michael S.

Yelp
Needed a quick pick me up before a team dinner. The honey lavender honey was perfect in the iced coffee. Great vibes & outdoor seating.
google avatar

Shradha A.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff - refuse to answer any basic questions because "the menu is in front of you". I just wanted to know if their "special" is on the sweeter side or spicier and they repeated "the menu is in front of you" and not even because I was holding up any type of line or anything, simply because they were unhelpful. Moldy product that they refuse to accept is moldy. Photo attached.
google avatar

Keely N.

Yelp
Outside of the 3rd street promenade, there is a cute cafe that quietly listens to the bubbling noise of Santa Monica. When you step inside, you immediately feel grounded and calm. The hustle from the streets paused. A coffee drip was placed in front of eyes across from the aesthetic menu and pastries. I ordered an oat milk latte and it was very delicious. The fragrance of espresso filled my soul.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
Got the seasonal raspberry almond latte and absolutely loved it. It was done really well with the perfect amount of espresso and foam. I loved the subtle hints of raspberry and the freeze dried raspberry flakes on top. I didn't taste the almond as much but it was still really good. They also had a lot of pastry options and a variety of drip coffee's. They had inside seating and nice outdoor patio tables. As for syrups, they had honey and honey lavender. Would definitely come back again to try more coffee flavors.

Lily L.

Yelp
The coffee here was absolutely delicious. I ordered an oat milk latte and it was one of the best tasting and creamy lattes I've ever tasted. Would absolutely recommend.
google avatar

Desiree J.

Yelp
Demitasse is delicious coffee heaven. They have so many unique offerings like the Kyoto cold brew, that I'm pretty sure takes 48 hours to make. Their espresso is delicious and the staff is friendly. They usually have some unique small items for sale such as succulents. There's both outdoor and indoor seating available, it gets very busy on weekends. Just make sure you grab any premade cold brew at the front when you pay so you don't wait an extra 15 minutes near the coffee pickup area with no idea that your drink isn't coming.
google avatar

Franky S.

Yelp
Ordered the iced minty cubano and it was a bit of a let down. I tasted no mint in my latte whatsoever. So essentially what I ended up getting was a regular oatmilk latte. It was nice inside. Tons of people sitting and working. My wife got the same thing and she really enjoyed it. So maybe just mine wasn't all that great Meter parking right outside
google avatar

Chris Y.

Yelp
I've never seen such beautiful outdoor and indoor seating in my life this place is a little treasure I'll bring everything from Suites two delicious sugar-free specials artwork from local artisans and fresh honey they have a really cool display of an old coffee maker that is going to be one of the best I've ever seen her I thought I was walking into a museum they introduced me to something called a Kyoto slow drip which is a Japanese process for making super strong coffee it's one of the neatest things I've ever seen other for some reason expected to come to life and become a robot and pour my coffee Because it's one of the most unique combinations of glass and metal I've ever seen in my life it has a very precise feeling to it. the staff was incredibly friendly they also had several other little contraptions making coffee that I had never seen before but they were very kind and educated me the bathroom is a gender they except most cashless forms of payment the menu greasy right when you walk in I don't think I've ever seen such a neat place before. I highly recommend enjoying hunter ceiling is covered features a lot of fresh plants and flowers to enjoy it has an tranquilizing Brisa comes right off the ocean.
google avatar

Kitty K.

Yelp
I randomly grabbed an iced coffee from Demitasse yesterday. The drink was just ok, which didn't meet my taste expectations - tastes very sour, barely flat and flavourless. But service is so quick, nice and friendly staff.
google avatar

Tanya A.

Yelp
I come here for the Kyoto Cold Brew. At $7.00+ including tip for a 16 oz. cup, this is definitely a treat for myself on long work days rather than the norm. You can find cheaper drinks elsewhere, but the Kyoto Cold Brew is one of their more unique menu items that's rarer to find elsewhere. This is an EXTRA strong coffee slow-dripped for 12+ hours. The staff even warn you how strong this is when you order it, and they're not kidding! Even when I have a lot of work to power through, I'll only finish half or 3/4 of my Kyoto Cold Brew after 6+ hours of work. That's enough to keep me WIRED. At the end of the work day, I'll just toss the 1/4 or so left otherwise I'd get jittery or have a hard time sleeping. The staff are friendly and efficient. The interior is cozy, but they have outdoor tables as well if you prefer fresh air or want to relax with your pets. There's a bathroom and free Wi-Fi, so this spot is well-equipped for studying or working.

S B.

Yelp
They are always out of the Special Tokyo iced coffee. They also changed the way they serve it. Also multiple times the person at the counter had no idea about their own menu and also don't have right estimates on how long the wait would be. It's sad to see the deterioration of what was once a great place and go-to for me!
google avatar

Steven Z.

Yelp
Happened to stay nearby at the Palihouse, which is a couple blocks away from this gem of a coffee shop. Their interior is small, but they have a great selection of drinks. I was drawn in by their Kyoto style slow drip contraption. The drip coffee is solid -- concentrated, chocolatey, and on the bitter side as expected. As an espresso enthusiast, I came back to try their cappuccino and espresso. I have to say, the Trufala blend blew me away so much so that I bought a bag of beans to take home on the flight! Even though TSA took it out of my luggage to inspect, it was worth it. There's something for everyone as well. They have seasonal specialty drinks (iced or hot) -- remember to ask for half sweet if that's up your alley.
google avatar

Aiden L.

Yelp
Really lovely looking cafe. Love that they offer a syphon; the coffee is outstanding. Unfortunately the breakfast burrito is not; the flavors are great, but our burrito was ice cold on the ends.

Yelp
If you're looking for a coffee shop where hipsters are so hip they might just start breakdancing in the corner, Demitasse in Santa Monica is your jam. I swear, you'll walk in and suddenly feel like you're in the coolest episode of a sitcom about caffeinated trendsetters. Let's talk about the "Too Hip" zone - it's like a magnet for people who are so hip, they practically defy gravity. Vintage clothes that probably traveled through time to be here, double-check. I half-expected someone to pull out a typewriter and start crafting a screenplay between sips of their soy latte. But that's not all, folks. If you're tired of actual conversations and just want to stare at your phone while pretending to listen to your friends, Demitasse has your back. I witnessed a whole squad of "phone planners" plotting their next shopping spree with the intensity of a military operation. And boy, did they have their noses pointed higher than a giraffe's neck, judging every soul who dared to enter. Walking into Demitasse is like entering an alternate reality where fashion magazines come to life and give you side-eye. I half-expected the barista to pull a double shot of irony along with my espresso. It's a place where being too mainstream is practically a crime, and blending in is as likely as spotting a unicorn with a handlebar mustache. So, if you're ready to dive into a world of hipness that's SO extra.. it should have its own reality show, Demitasse is your front-row ticket. Just remember to bring your quirkiest hat and practice your eye roll - you're going to need it to keep up with the caffeinated circus of Santa Monica's coolest crowd.
google avatar

Jesse L.

Yelp
The coffee was fine, but the breakfast burrito is not made there, takes a long time to heat on their small griddle, and after cooking for about 10 minutes, it was still cold and gross.
google avatar

Olivia P.

Yelp
Very cute coffee shop in Santa Monica! The espresso is very tasty and they have a good lavender syrup. The staff is also very friendly and there are clearly regulars who they know by name, which I find really sweet.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop with a makeshift patio for outdoor seating. Some street metered parking and around the corner. They sell coffee beans and even some potted plants. Ordered the weekly special pretty pink drink which mostly tasted like grapefruit iced tea. Very refreshing and not too sweet. They have extra sugar and syrups on the side though. Overall, an okay place to study and they have some fancy cold brew coffee.
google avatar

Savannah L.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in the area! I liked the iced mint cubano and they make a stellar flat white here. I haven't had a chance to try the pastry items yet but they all look delicious.
google avatar

Amica J.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop outside downtown Santa Monica. Known for their Kyoto style cold brew you can see is brewed in the pictures, slowly over a long period of time (forgot the exact number barista explained to me). There are a couple of tables inside and outside to talk with a friend or work. They also have gender neutral bathrooms for customers. Location wise since it is a little outside from the shops it is quiet and driving walking around won't be as hectic. They have a couple of seasonal drinks I believe that rotate. The girl in front of me tried to order a special drink that was on Yelp but it wasn't on their menu anymore. The Kyoto cold brew which I ordered was light and not over powering. I added bit of oat milk and made my way to the beach !

Yelp
Great place to study or have a date. Good amount of seating inside and out. Delicious coffee and pastries!
