This is an intimate spa experience. Quaint but relaxing in the garden area. The positives are the massage ladies gave an amazing massage and were very nice(Azaria &Laura). Very sweet ladies.. The guy that help with food order was prompt and nice.Which is why I gave Four stars. Improvement could be the communication at front desk with a couple things. Example .. I pre filled (forms) out of what I was allergic to but when I arrived and started my appt. Apparently it was not on my notes and I almost put my feet into a tub of lavender. Yikes.. glad I mentioned it before she started. But , no apology for the confusion from the front desk. Overall cute place in Venice.

I originally had a pretty disappointing experience at Den Mother and left feeling disheartened—especially since I had bought a birthday gift card for my friend so we could enjoy a spa day together. From unclear front desk communication to only having a semi-working bathroom, and a rushed, lackluster massage, the visit left a lot to be desired. My friend also ran into an issue with redeeming the gift card I had purchased, which created more stress than relaxation, and I left that day certain I wouldn't return. To Den Mother's credit, the manager Trish reached out to me personally after seeing my review. She was thoughtful, apologetic, and offered my friend and me a chance to come back for a complimentary treatment of our choice. We took her up on that offer—and I’m so glad we did. This time, our experience was night and day. The staff was prompt, organized, and kind. We were offered robes and slippers upon arrival and invited to relax on the beautiful back terrace before our appointment. The bathroom was clean and functioning (a big improvement), and our therapists were exceptional—caring, attentive, and deeply skilled. The Garden Massage with Ritual Foot Bath left me feeling grounded, nurtured, and physically restored. I appreciated that my therapist asked what kind of pressure I liked and wasn’t afraid to really work through my knots. The herbal foot soak smelled amazing, and I felt fully welcomed and cared for throughout. I’m genuinely grateful that Trish took the time to make things right. My return visit completely shifted my view of the business. Thank you, Den Mother, for listening and taking the steps to improve. I now feel confident recommending this spot—and I look forward to returning again.

I had a wonderful experience at Den Mother and would have to highly recommend it if you are looking for your next go-to spa. The garden area where my friends and I had our massages has immaculate vibes. This spa is perfect for any occasion, or just to treat yourself! If you are able to request a specific person, Sarah does an amazing massage!

Google
Den Mother is incredible! The most relaxing /indoor/outdoor zen house. I came with my cousin for her birthday and we did contrast therapy (sauna + cold plunge tub) and we loved it. We relaxed afterwards in the outdoor garden & had a snack & some drinks. Cannot wait to come back! The perfect wellness spot.

Google
This place was awesome. Seems like it got some negative reviews for check in but the person I worked with this morning was great and super kind. However, the reason for the 5 stars was the set up. The private plunge/sauna/shower area was incredible. Great vibes, very private and overall just very cool. It’s a bit pricey for a 30 min experience but I would say worth it to try out. Plunge pool was 40 when I got the first appt this morning. One of the colder ones I’ve done

Google
I had a really great experience here. There is no parking anywhere so just pay the $12 valet on the corner. You’ll spend 30 minutes trying to find parking on the main street and the residential areas. While there, they provided robes, sandals and water. The shower had lotion, body wash and shampoo. We did the sauna/cold plunge for 30 and it felt rushed so I recommend doing it for more time to thoroughly enjoy your time here.

What a beeeeautiful place. A real gem in Venice. Beautiful setting, very clean, zen and warm. Staff are wonderful. Went with my sister for garden massage. I got Holly, who was amazing! Excellent chais. WE LOVED it & will be back frequently.

Google
I recently had the most amazing experience at Den Mother Spa in Los Angeles, and I can't stop raving about it. This spa truly offers a tranquil and beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I visited Den Mother Spa with my friends as part of our girls' weekend in LA, and it exceeded all our expectations. We decided to try the Reflexology massages in the garden area, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The garden setting added to the serenity of the experience, with lush greenery and a soothing ambiance that instantly put us at ease. My therapist, Devin, was an absolute gem. She provided one of the best massages I've ever had. Her expertise and attention to detail were truly impressive, and she made sure I felt completely relaxed throughout the entire session. One of the unique features of Den Mother Spa is that they offer little cocktails to enjoy during your massage, which added a delightful touch to our already fantastic experience. Sipping on a refreshing drink while receiving a top-notch massage was pure bliss. Whether you're looking for a solo escape or a memorable experience with friends, this spa delivers on all fronts. The tranquil atmosphere, skilled therapists like Devin, and the option to enjoy cocktails make it the best hideaway for relaxation and rejuvenation in Los Angeles.

Yelp
I LOVE this place and can't wait to return for my Mother's Day foot soak and massage. It's located in adorable Abbot Kenney, and even though it's on a busy street, it's tucked away and feels like you're in a little tranquil slice of heaven. The staff is attentive and friendly. It's amazing.

Yelp
Decided to treat my BF out to a spa outing for a special occasion, and Den Mother definitely didn't disappoint! They offer a variety of bodywork services, as well as a private sauna + cold plunge room, all of which are priced very reasonably compared to other spots I looked at in the area. They're located on a super busy strip of Abbot Kinney, but we didn't have trouble finding free street parking, and once we entered, the surround sound system eliminated any noises from the street and transported us into a hidden oasis. The room we were placed into for our sauna and cold plunge felt really cramped, but we did see the other room and it felt more spacious and had a better cold plunge tub. Not sure how I'm able to pick the exact room I want on their website, since they're labeled "1" and "2" without any description or photos, so it might all be based on luck and availability. The employee also started our one hour timer while explaining the room to us (even though we came earlier than our appointment time) which didn't exactly sit right with me, since each minute is around $2.50. They also offer a limited Butcher's Daughter menu from next door, and we ordered some tea, margarita pizza as well as a cocktail. The margarita pizza was a bit dry without much sauce or toppings, but it definitely hit the spot. The cocktail was VERY strong and had a heavy essence of mezcal. We paid for our remaining sauna tab + our food on our way out, but we got chased by another employee into the street asking if we paid our toast tab. I wasn't exactly comfortable with the service and I definitely think the employees should communicate better or have a better way to track food purchases instead of treating customers like they're dining and dashing after such an expensive service.

Yelp
The receptionist was not friendly at all, felt unwelcome by her demeanor. Despite the unfriendly, unwelcoming receptionist, my massage with Michael was amazinggg and my boyfriend was also very happy with his foot massage.

Yelp
I've been to Den Mother a handful of times on dates and with friends. It's one of my FAV spots in ALL of Venice Beach. It's always a cozy, relaxing, wonderful outdoor experience. I walk up the street from my place and just settle on the patio and melt into comfort. There are multiple options you can swing for yr weekend/evenings here. A total spa treatment, a lil tea party, and or order select food items from the Butcher's Daughter adjacent. We were here over the weekend, yes even in the drizzling rain and at night. It's kinda romantic. The super sweet staff: lit the outdoor patio fire pit for us, and clothed the chairs whilst we ordered herbal teas made in-house. The fabric awning above kept the drizzle at bay while we sat by the Firepit stayed warm, dry and enjoyed good company. Next visit, I'll try a facial spa treatment. But I know to make reservations in advance. Thanks for the wonderful ambiance and service: Always, heart-warming.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had an anniversary date here today and it was AMAZING. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming and so attentive. We did hot/cold therapy which felt wonderful and totally invigorating, and then we followed it up with garden massages, which were also incredible. Love this place and can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Booked a spa day here with my girls. We got the Ritual Foot Bath with Garden Massage for 1 hour. They also have a 30 min option as well. The area felt like a little hidden space and we were greeted with the cutest decor. They provided us robes to change into and then we were seated in a communal room, next to each other. Luckily we had the 10am appt, so no one else was using that space at the time. We sat in the comfiest chairs for the massages. We had Laura, Kendall and Devin and they were amazing, always checking in on us to make sure we were comfortable. The massage is $170 not including gratuity, which is a little bit on the pricer side for what you get but it was definitely worth trying out.

Yelp
Got a massage w my boyfriend & we loved it. Everyone is super nice & the vibes were amazing. We love getting regular massages/ trying new spots and my boyfriend said this is the best massage he's ever had, which is saying a lot! Also love that they sell my favorite vitamin brands... definitely will be coming to restock

Yelp
I did a girls day for the garden foot massage. The setup and welcoming was great! But it is a little on the pricier side. There are fire pits, and sofas for you to wait, very cute. You can order drinks from next door, but that service wasn't really ideal. Takes them a while to go and come back. Quality of massage was good, you get to sit around and hangout after for a bit which is cute too.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place for a self care day. It's a beautiful and charming space with excellent service. I booked the hot/cold therapy and two massages. I originally booked garden massages but then changed it when I realized those are seated upright in a space shared with other guests. I ended up with the Keep Your Head Massage which was divine. You may want to ask for less oil if your hair is curly like mine. Would definitely go back

Yelp
Beautiful location! Fairly small & we went when there was an event going on so the parking situation was pretty bad however the location is cute. It was so relaxing the outdoor garden was great & so peaceful! I went with my two girlfriends for my birthday. We all got the Garden massage with the Ritual foot bath & it was such a nice experience! Fernando took care of me & was so kind & did an amazing job! I really enjoyed my experience and would absolutely return!

Yelp
I received a gift certificate to this lovely spa for Christmas and it was one of the best experiences ever. The staff is so kind and from the minute you enter the premises you feel so relaxed and welcomed. I did an hour of the sauna and cold plunge... so worth it and refreshing! I hope to come back very soon. Thank you everyone at Den Mother

Yelp
Brendan did a phenomenal job today. He had a beautiful spirit & applied perfect pressure& excellent conversation. The facility was beautiful & I didn't have any issues. Book online, and enjoy.

Yelp
I was treated to a massage here for my birthday, and it was a great gift. I normally go to the spare, low-cost massage places around town, so this felt extravagant. It's an absolutely lovely space, and surprisingly peaceful in the back area. No trace of the bustle of Abbott Kinney back there. I also liked that there were very few people (it was a weekday afternoon), and everyone was quiet. Far more relaxing than Burke Williams. I had a deep tissue massage and it was great. My therapist warned me that she would be doing cupping on my back (I've never had it on my back before--only arms and legs) and I really liked it. My back looked INSANE for about a week afterwards, but totally worth it. I wish I had time to hang out after in the back waiting area and maybe order some snacks and a drink. Next time I'll plan better.

Yelp
Magical space. Welcoming people. Did not want to leave! Upon arrival, was given a robe and slides to wear while there, as well as a towel for the sauna and a basket for my things. And also got a tour of the facilities. The outdoor seating area in the back is a great space to hang out in before or after treatments. It's super chill with comfy seating and a little fire pit. I booked a 30-minute sauna and a 60-minute massage. Sauna was great. The massage was perfect. My practitioner took great care with some injuries I have and still gave me a great massage--I felt amazing for days afterward!!! [Special note: some of the treatments include a head massage with warm oil. You might want to bring something to cover your hair afterwards!] After my treatments, I ordered amazing tea and some food from the Butcher's Daughter and hung out and rehydrated. So grateful to everyone at Den Mother for a great day!

Yelp
Lovely, calm space. I loved the sauna and cold plunge part of the day. One of the best foot massages ever. Prices are a bit on the high end for some of the services but overall a nice experience.

Yelp
Courtney is hands down amazing and is definitely 5 stars! She had great energy magic hands and checked in just the right amount!! The vibe of this place even on a rainy day is super relaxing. But I would expect for the cost you pay for services they would make their front patio rain proof as well. My massage was phenomenal. I also did a bath- it was nice but probably not something I would splurge on twice. The actual tub looks like it could use a deep cleaning. The food and beverage menu is abbreviated and sent over from butchers daughter. The server was attentive but chill and he definitely adds to the relaxing environment. The aesthetic is essentially bohemian with lounge chairs fire pits andgreenery Cons- check in and check out not the greatest or friendliest customer service. Also I might add they throw in the gratuity automatically but it's only 18% - I think beauty service standard really is closer to 20 but the front desk service just says oh and we add 18%- I had to ask to increase the amount as I thought my therapist deserved more. No place to put your stuff - no keys or lockers. Only one bathroom and no where to rinse Would return for Courtney! Could see this being a bit more inclusive if they added facials to the bath experience or added the cold immersion / sauna with all services
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place. I been here twice and the staff are so nice. The cold plunge is colder than it looks! I took my friends here for their birthday and we all had a lot of fun getting massages, going into the sauna and cold plunging.

Yelp
*updated review* Den Mother completely redeemed themselves. After a terrible first experience, the owner, Kenneth reached out to my girlfriend to apologize and invite us back. We were moving soon, but Kenneth was able to accommodate a day and time that worked for us. When we walked in we were greeted by Trish, the GM, who was friendly and professional. She escorted us to the Hot/Cold Plunge and showed us where we could place our items, so they wouldn't get wet. The hot and cold plunge was great! The sauna will definitely have you sweating like crazy. My girlfriend did the cold plunge and enjoyed it. It was too cold for me, so I stuck to the sauna. I also loved that they have a shower, so you can rinse off after the sauna. We had an 1 hour and 40 minutes until our massages, so we ordered the mushroom pizza from the Butcher's Daughter. It was absolutely delicious. The staff from Den Mother brings it to you, so you don't even have to get up. While we waited I read, sat by the fire, and enjoyed complimentary tea. One of the staff members was pleasant and refilled the tea once it was empty. Once it was time for the massage, our masseuse's came to get us. I had Soraya, and she was amazing! I felt so relaxed after my massage. It was pretty cold that day so she had the heated bed on, which was amazing. 10/10 for my second experience. I would definitely go back!

Yelp
This place has a shabby chic Venice style to it. I would describe this as a massage studio/cafe as there is only one bathroom in the facility and no spa-like amenities such as a steam room, sauna, hot tub, or even a locker room with showers. I received a Swedish massage which was very relaxing and the therapist did a good job, but I don't believe it was worth the $285 price tag. If I were to go again I would do one of the less common treatments such as the ritual foot soak but would do it with a friend because it's in the common area which is more conducive for conversing as opposed to tranquil silence.

Yelp
My friends booked me a girls spa day with them as a pre-bach activity before my actual bachelorette events. One of my friends booked the 60 minute Garden Massage with Ritual Foot Soak online for each of us at $170. Keep in mind that there's 18% atuomatic gratuity added at the end of service, which is standard. We really didn't know what to expect with our first time experience. I, honestly, prefer a woman masseuse. However, I don't think they gave my friend an option to choose online like that. So during the booking process, it said we had Brendan (M), Devin (F), and Priscilla (F). However, when we arrived in the garden area, we had gotten assigned two male masseuses and one female masseuse. I ended up with Brendan, while my other friend ended up with another male masseuse named Michael, I think. My other friend ended up with Priscilla. Both my friends ended up switching, since the other one didn't care whether or not she got a female or male. I wished I had also gotten a female masseuse .. When we checked-in, the process was seamless. We were greeted by friendly faces. We were given a bag, a robe, and sandals to use during our treatment. I thought that was really cute. We changed out of our clothes and into our robes. We headed towards the garden area where we were met with our names personalized with the items that would be added into our foot soak. The foot soak was definitely relaxing. It smelled wonderful with all the herbs and fried fruits. The beginning part of our massage was pretty awkward. Based on our outdoor garden experience, we probably would've opted for a more private type of session. Since we were all naked under our robes, we just felt like we were up on display in the shared garden space area. I feel like it would've made more sense to have people wait in the front patio areas before their service because we just hand a good amount of people (male and female) just staring at us while we were getting our service done. So that was a little weird for us. However, it was stated upon booking that the garden massage will be in a shared area, so it's not like we weren't aware. But I think my friends assumed that the foot soak service would be in the shared area, but the massage would be in a private room. I would probably recommend just booking the foot soak and a massage separate to enjoy the full-on relaxing experience. In the beginning, we all felt uncomfortable sitting on the chairs provided - it could be because we're all short. We felt like we had to hold ourselves up during the scalp and neck section of our massages, which made the process not relaxing at all. I felt like I was going to strain my neck. I think we all did.. It wasn't until all the masseuses got to our arms that we were able to move the pillow behind us vertical, so that it can properly hold our heads and necks. It was at this point where we actually felt finally relaxed. Although Brendan was such a sweetheart with a kind spirit who had the perfect applied pressures, I just honestly, overall, would've preferred a female masseusse. During the massage, I could just feel the arm hairs grazing against my neck, which made me feel very uncomfortable. There was also a point where I had also felt the knuckle hairs too. Moving on, the music in the shared area is also more upbeat, so instead of like a full-on relaxing experience, it definitely kept us up instead. But again, we do understand that it is in the shared garden area. The service from everyone at Den Mother was definitely nothing short of amazing. Everyone made sure we were great from beginning to end. We decided to hang out a little bit after our service in the front area, and we were offered water. We were also offered to have our fire pit lit up so we can relax during our post-massage. Overall, I would come back, but I would definitely do another type of private or exclusive service with a preferred female masseuse.

Yelp
Beautiful spot hidden gem in Abbot Kinney - Venice. It's basically a hotel/spa resort but without the hassle of driving far and committing to a dedicated hotel. This is right next to the beach and you can even have tea, coffee, snacks, alcohol here. They have spa services like massages, tea ceremony and of course the private sauna + outdoor shower + cold plunge combo all in one private outdoor room for you to use. The place is absolutely gorgeous looks like straight out of a Boho themed magazine, every inch of it feels like an urban outdoor oasis.

Yelp
Update... management reached out to inform me of the positive changes they've made since my review. They have provided insulation to the massage room and graciously offered to accommodate if I wished to come back to try the cold plunge and steam rooms as well as a drink on the house! I love to support small businesses and definitely believe they deserve a second chance!

Yelp
This review is based on two different visits. Tea and coffee and massage treatments The herbal teas and butterfly pea milk teas are incredible!!!!! The space is gorgeous and feels like you're in tulum. But the foot bath massage... where do I begin!? We were escorted to the back garden (for guests receiving treatments) after we checked in. The space is heavenly and so relaxing with a fire pit and lunge chairs. Jeremy, the man running the show in the back arranged a beautiful cheese plate mixed with smoked cashew cheese and a salty cows milk cheese and fresh caraway crisps! Highly recommend! We sipped sake and mellowed out to the good tunes before we were seated for our herbal foot baths. Katie, my therapist, gave the most incredible neck, shoulder, head massage while my feet soaked in a blissful bath of herbs, citrus & coconut milk. After an incredible upper body massage, she gave the best pressure point foot massage ever! I felt like I floated to another planet. It was INSANE! HIGHLY recommend! Andrew, the manager in the front where the shop is awesome!!! So helpful, smart, friendly and radiates good vibes! We ended up walking out with goodies for our friends! The shop has so much amazing stuff to give as gifts! This place is a sanctuary! We can't wait to return!

Yelp
Our group had an awesome time at the Den Mother Sauna and Cold Plunge. We booked with Stephanie who was super friendly and helpful in getting us set up ahead of time. The back yard spa is so great for a group or couple, or just two friends wanting to get some relaxing time in together. The staff was on top of everything including robes and slippers and Bryan was really gracious with helping our group have a special evening. I am totally planning to go again. The spa is on Abbot Kinney but people kept saying they thought we were somewhere tropical!

Yelp
***UPDATED REVIEW*** After a terrible first experience, I was pleasantly surprised to find an email in my inbox from Kenny P., the founder & owner of Den Mother. He sent an email to apologize about our experience & invited us back. We were offered any 60 minute massage each and 60 minutes in the sauna/cold plunge for no charge. After a few emails to figure out scheduling (we're moving cross country next week & will be without a car for a few days) we were booked to return. Upon arrival we were greeted and offered complimentary tea by Trish, the GM. We checked in & were taken to the sauna. I'm so glad we got a chance to experience this. The sauna was everything you'd expect & the cold plunge was colder than you could imagine. The area is private and they provided towels, slippers, robes, water, & body wash / facial cleansers for before the cold plunge & after to rinse off. The products smelled amazing. We had about an hour and a half between the sauna & massage, so we sat by the fire pit & ordered a mushroom pizza from The Butcher's Daughter. It was delicious. We were also given more complimentary tea & water. The staff refilled the tea kettle twice for us while we waited and ate. The atmosphere was really nice & peaceful. When the time came, we were taken to separate rooms. We opted for the Signature Swedish Massage. I had Courtney (I think that was her name), and she was awesome. The massage bed was heated, which was perfect since I was still somewhat cold from sitting outside after the cold plunge. Courtney did a great job with the massage & it was everything I needed & more! After, when it was time to checkout, we actually spoke to Kenny P. in person & thanked him for the opportunity for a new experience at his establishment. He didn't have to reach out, but I'm really glad he did. We would definitely come back after the service & experience we received this time. This evening spa session was perfect from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.

Yelp
This is an amazing oasis of calm in a bustling area. Once you pass through the beautiful wood and natural entrance you are enveloped in serenity. You are welcomed with a robe, footwear and a tote for your personal belongings. You can await your service in the lush garden area with fire pit out back. Once you are called into the treatment rooms the real magic begins. Their team of massage therapists is amazing, I've had a few and they were all amazing. The Keep Your Head is HIGHLY recommended if you don't want a full body massage (like me), but their new facials are the BEST!! Most relaxing facial I've ever had and my skin looked amazing right off the table. Devin, the esthetician, was very attentive, making sure I was comfortable and explaining the products as she used them (thanks to my nonstop inquiries). I had an incredible glow and my normally dry skin was so hydrated! AND it looked just as good the next morning. I will book every time I'm out in LA!!!

Yelp
I was really happy to book a last minute opening for their 30 minute cold plunge while I was visiting the area. The space is extremely inviting and cozy, but the employees do not pass the vibe check. The session wasn't explained to me, but I was able to figure it out and I enjoyed the experience. The tea sauna is interesting (smells great) and the cold plunge really helped with some pain I was having. 30 minutes was more than enough IMO. After any session, you are invited to stay in their lounge area (for those who booked services only), but it is fairly small and only accommodates 5-6 people max. I enjoyed tea and a few snacks after my session and then went home. Overall I would recommend and would come back. Just wish they provided was more guidance/explanation for the session and afterwards.

Yelp
I was given a generous gift card to Den Mother and made an appointment today for a 60-minute Going Deep massage. My appointment time was 3:20 and the email I received instructed me to arrive early so I wouldn't be rushed or stressed. The recommendation to be sure I had breakfast and drink plenty of water had me very excited for my massage. I arrived at 2:50 with plenty of time to be prepared for my massage. The email I was sent said "Following your service, relax in your robe and enjoy a tea in our garden den if you wish." Imagine my surprise when I wasn't even offered a robe and slippers. The kind staff did offer me tea and walk me back to the beautiful garden. I then sat there waiting in the clothes I arrived in and drank tea. At 3:20, no one had come to get me for my massage. I went to the front desk to inquire and no one seemed to know what was going on. At 3:27, my masseuse finally came to the front to get me to escort me to my massage room. I wear a watch and am someone that pays very close attention to time. After we arrived in the room, she said to take off my clothes and put them in a chair, yes just put them in a chair, and get under the sheets for my massage. Based on my experience to this point, I knew I better quickly get undressed and under the covers or I sensed I would not get my full 60 minutes and I was right. I rushed and climbed in by 3:30 according to the clock in the room and she came in a few minutes later to start my massage. After all of the waiting and the rush to get onto the table, the massage itself was underwhelming. While I realize the massage is supposed to be designed to work on stagnant areas of the body, address pain and promote regeneration, it seemed random and not balanced. I've also never had a massage that didn't touch my feet at all which is a key area to address regeneration. When she said we were done, I immediately looked at the clock in the room and it was 4:26 and not a full 60 minutes as advertised. Also, there was still time to spend about 2-3 minutes on each of my feet if she had done the full hour. She said to get dressed and she would meet me at the door. Still no robe to relax in the garden after my massage. At that point, I was just ready to go. I did ask at the front desk if 60 minutes didn't really mean 60 minutes and was told it should have been the full time. In my experience in all of my years getting massages, the time starts when they start the massage. My masseuse must've decided the time started when she went to pick me up from the front desk. The nice man at the front desk did offer to give me a discount which is why I'm giving two stars and not just one. He did try to offer good customer service to remedy the situation. I declined because there is no need for me to have a balance at Den Mother as I will never be returning for any service. The purpose of me taking the time to write this review is to make sure people going in the future make it clear what they are expecting based on the correspondence received prior to visiting and that everyone is given their fair time. Thank you or taking the time to read this review.

Yelp
The entire experience from the moment we walked in (our first time) to the moment we left was absolutely delightful, chill and even joyful! We ordered the homemade chips, and the edamame/tofu dip and crackers. SO delicious and I am not usually a tofu person. I used it for the chips too. Yum! They were out of red wine so we tried this new wine from Mendocino that is 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. What?! Loved it! It was the best of both somehow. Our server cared about his job and the work he does. We complimented him and he told the owner who happened to be on the premises. Just a wonderful time. Just super cool, chill, professional and kind folks. We have a bunch of family coming in Nov and Dec. Can't wait to bring them here! The tea was yummy as well!

Yelp
A quality of service matched by a amazing space. We booked something early in the day and had excellent service and the back area almost entirely to ourselves. We didn't enjoy the food that is sourced from The Butchers daughter next door but didn't enjoy the hot tea along with our treatment.

Yelp
Den Mother is truly a little slice of heaven. I discovered this gem as I was leaving a nearby restaurant. As I poked my head inside, the woman at the front desk offered to give my friend and I a quick tour. The inside area was clean and serene, but the garden was the true star. It's giving all the zen vibes. Whether you book an indoor or outdoor service, customer service is top tier. All the employees were attentive, skilled, and kind. On numerous occasions, I've booked a massage or ritual foot bath with garden massage with Mezzo. Mezzo is the truth! She uses the perfect amount of pressure and slows down her strokes. With each stroke, it feels as if you're being transported to another universe. After your service, you can hang out and relax. If you're hungry or thirsty, food from Butcher's Daughter can be ordered.

Yelp
Today was my first experience at Den Mother, I book this as a early birthday gift to my self. And had the best experience of my life I left feeling so relaxed and fresh. Everyone was very sweet and friendly I had a appointment with Alize and her energy is absolutely beautiful I can't wait to book with her again.

Yelp
Really cute, aesthetic/vibe-y coffee shop/wellness spa that we visited twice while in LA, but the customer service could be slightly tweaked. The first time we first walked in, someone asked us if we had any questions, and we asked about the coffee menu. Without responding to that, he took us on an unprompted a tour of the facilities, lol, and showed us all the services they provided. The people that were getting massaged in their chairs must have felt weird about a bunch of onlookers observing them while they were being massaged (!). To be nice, we asked our "tour guide" how far in advance you had to book a service, and he just dropped us off at the front desk where someone was having a long conversation on the phone. It all felt a little salesy and awkward so we left. The second time, we were greeted by a lovely barista who made us a cappuccino and Pachamama drink, both of which were excellent. She was super sweet, laidback, and professional. The couches and fire pits are also a nice refuge from the foot traffic of Abbot Kinney.

Yelp
Right next to Butcher's Daughter you will find this little blue house. Little do you know inside is spacious, all natural wood, with plushy cushions. It is Den Mother Wellness spa! In the front yard, you can enjoy tea, sake iced or hot. Their service includes massage, soaking, reflexology and my favorite cold plunge! You have your own suite in their backyard. It has a jungle shower, sauna that included green tea infused water for you to pour onto the hot stone. Wow, that scents I will never forget. Then when heated up, time to get into the 44 degree tub. You won't have brain freeze, you feel your neck and the rest of your body untied, relaxed. Repeat again. I choose an hour to relax to take my time. Afterwards, you can try their foot massage while sipping teas. They have great selections and love how they serve your tea. The plating is so cute. I will back to do cold plunge and full body massage next. Come during the week for easier street parking. You may eat something light next door and Butcher's daughter before the treatments.

Yelp
My massage was amazing. I had been having some very intense back pain before the massage and she took the time to work the area out. I have not had the same pain since. The garden afterwards with tea / food from the butchers daughter is a must.

Yelp
DONT BOOK A MASSAGE HERE. Their Instagram or website has nothing to do with reality. The front and backyards are small and feel crowded. My massage therapist was great (giving 3 stars because the masseuse was young and sweet) but the room was not relaxing as there was club music blasting next door so I made the relaxing day experience not relaxing. For this price, I was expecting top service, experience and ambiance. Also I did the 30-mins bath soak and 5 mins into it the water drained mid-way. The experience was not worth the price. The tub was slippery. A hazard really. I was expecting a 5 star experience and service and got a $55 massage not a $300 massage experience. Also, i was with a friend who asked for their complimentary tea twice but was pretty much ignored. She finally got a tea for which she was charged. My friend's massage was pretty much a hurried neck rub. Not the experience is sold on their website, nor Instagram. Never coming back here. PS: check the sheets on the massage table. I found they were dirty after I got up from the table. Pics below

Yelp
Honestly, I was disappointed with my experience here. I had the ritual foot bath with the garden massage. Having never been before, I didn't know this service was done in a common area. So there was no privacy and that made it difficult to relax when others were hanging out in the lounge area. It feels like you're on display, and it's quite uncomfortable. Also, the service is terribly overpriced for what it is, and they don't clarify gratuity is automatically added at the end. Don't get me wrong, I always tip either way. But this just felt sneaky. This place gets one star for the ambiance, another star for the kindness of my massage therapist, and one pity star because giving only two stars feels too mean.

Yelp
Beautiful location - a total oasis on Abbott Kinney. I had the garden foot soak/massage which is kind of like a Chinese massage if you've ever been to one - where you're in a common area, (it is outdoors which is lovely on the back patio, but I did wish it was a little more private as that wasn't clear to me when I booked) and remain clothed while they soak your feet and massage your shoulders, neck, arms, lower legs and feet. I took off one star for the price being pretty high for not being a private setting. They do offer traditional private room massages as well though. All that being said the foot treatment was amazing and the massage by Zahra was absolutely incredible! Thank you, thank you!! You can also just come here for a drink btw - wine, sake, kombucha, coffee or tea! And some snacks too. Will be back!

Yelp
Highly recommend for health and wellness! I love the outdoor space very good vibes! I've been coming to hot cold therapy and it's helped with my spinal issues. The front desk is very helpful and attentive. And I will definitely be trying more of the treatments offered. Thank you

Yelp
Den Mother was a beautiful experience from the time we walked in until we left. The staff are some of the nicest, most warming people and I loved them all. My sister and I came to LA from NY for a girls weekend and Den Mother was by far one of the best experiences of the trip. The ambiance and decor is so relaxing and peaceful. The sauna and cold plunge circuit was amazing! The room itself was divine with the outdoor shower and amenities (robe, towel, body and wash, + more!). And an extra kudos for having larger robes for the curvy girlsssss! Beautiful touch! And omg where do I begin with the ritual foot bath and garden massage, absolutely divine! I will never come to California and not visit Den Mother. 1000/10 recommend!

Yelp
It's really relaxing.. I got the Ritual Foot Bath with massage. The massage is while you soak, don't expect the robe unless you booked another service. I know to book the hour long massage next time because the 30 mins flew by!

Yelp
I will start with the positive it was a vibe hidden with greenery, and welcoming therapeutic aromas. The place is very quaint. The negative is parking is so bad you need to add 15-20 minutes to look for parking or use the paid structure. I was late due to parking they offered no accommodation I will take that loss. The part that made it so bad my masseuse was sooo bad. It felt like a 6 year old child was giving the massage. The masseuse name was Renee she had no presence and seemed like she was just there. She was unable to rub my scalp due to my hairstyle. Renee stated that she would focus on another area which she did not. It was brief and terrible for 15 mins and $85 dollars plus mandatory 18% gratuity was robbery. The service I received was a Garden Massage with Ritual Foot Bath. I would say read the reviews about your masseuse and be on time. The place is a vibe and the other staff were great. I can't say I would return for 30 minutes and $100 sub par massage.

Yelp
Best experience I have ever had! We were greeted so kindly - shout out to Andrew . The hot cold plunge experience is EVERYTHING. So rejuvenating and our skin was glowing. We had massages after and it was the best massage we have ever had. Ask for Jules and Eileen! After the experience we had delicious tea, sat by a fire under a nice warm blanket. Such a beautiful experience and amazing hospitality. 10/10!!!

Yelp
This place is almost perfect. My husband and I booked a garden massage for my birthday and our therapists were amazing but for at least half the time, there were two employees chatting away, giggling, and whispering. It was so distracting and hard to be relaxed in that environment. You would think that employees are more considerate than that, especially considering that we later learned that one of them was an actual masseuse. I tried to subtly give them a glance, but they could not take the hint. My masseuse even seemed to be bothered by it. For the steep cost of the massages and other services, you would expect the staff to be more professional.

Yelp
Disappointed. We notified the management .. even more disappointment as nothing was done. My friend's massage was not enjoyable, she explained to the masseuse she needed more pressure but she didn't get it. The masseuse turned the clock so that she couldn't see it and then did not give her a full hour massage. :/ She then gave me a massage .. her hands were really cold! I mean the environment is beautiful .. but we went for massages and the massage was sub par. Never heard back from management.

Yelp
Spiritual Hood Healer shows off this place on Instagram and I'm suddenly booking online. I'm inspired. I love the treatment of a massage and a custom bath. The rooms are really luxurious but also down the earth.

Yelp
Disappointed. I was told there was a parking area directly behind the Den, that was not the case so we ended up running behind circling to find parking. Finally find parking, my sister & I walk in & I think Tish was her name & the GM was very condescending, not welcoming letting us know our service was going to be cut short. How about a hello, nope she made sure to point out our service if we stayed was going to be little to none, I would have rather taken none. We asked could you move us later, there was no availability until 5pm, we were there @ 10am. She then tells us we could stay until the staff that was working on us their next appointment arrived then they were going to get up and move to the next person. We wanted to cancel but you pay half the price of your service so I said to my sister we will just stay. Had I known they take it upon themselves to add an 18% tip which I was not told when I booked & we were getting half ass service I should had taken my sisters advice to take the loss & exit to the left immediately. I like to make the decision on what I want to tip. My sister told her therapist to mainly work on her feet , she barely touched them. We will not recommend this place & we should have left. Over $100 dollars later for what ? Bad service, we should have went to Burke Williams for the full massage experience.

Yelp
If I could live here, I would. The customer service is outstanding from the moment you walk in. I've had both the meditative and Swedish massages--both of which were heavenly. After my first meditative massage, I didn't noticed some abdominal sculpting which I was not expecting and was a great bonus. The Swedish massages never miss. The oils smell amazing and the scalp massages almost always put me to sleep. The decor and energy of the entire space from the massage rooms to the back patio create the perfect place to zen out. It is definitely worth the price!

Yelp
My friend booked an appointment for us to go for my birthday, in which we called an hour in advance to move our time for later. She spoke with Kelley & Jeremy who, unfortunately, only rescheduled one person instead of two in which the reservation was intended for. They even made it seem like it was my friend's fault when clearly it was the systems fault. She ended up speaking to the manager who didn't accommodate to her concerns. It was frustrating, customer service is definitely horrible, and now my birthday is ruined.
