Yesterday I had dinner with my family visiting from Saarbrücken. A friend of mine told me a while ago about Denassus, a small Tapas, Vine Bar and Restaurant located in one of the famous Tapas Streets of Barcelona. Denassus is fun to go alone and sit on the Bar getting spoiled or even like yesterday, with a group of 7 people. To get the most out of it, we were asking one of the waiters, to put together a free style menu to share. It turned out genius, we had a variety of small plates, croquetas, 2 different types of Jamon, pan con tomate was not missing, Gambas, carpacio, an amazing Tomato Salad, finishing with two main courses of sirloin and sea bass. We tried three different deserts, and got chupitos de hierbas offered from the house! We were blown away by the flavours of each dish, their freshness and little details and twists which made them even more delicious! A tiny open kitchen behind the bar, where magic is obviously happening! The place was packed, but not loud or hectic, the staff is adorable and absolutely laid back and really friendly. Great service, well trained and professional, a lovely welcome atmosphere.
The menu was perfectly chosen and proposed for all of us and we had an amazing unforgettable dinner and time at Denassus!
A must go for locals and visitors.
