Where to Watch Beto O’Rourke and Ted Cruz Face Off in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"Denton denizens can gather around for a Beto-centric watch party alongside the brewery’s own concoctions. Snag the interesting sounding “Dank Jungle Fruit” IPA, “Cherry Hoppins” amber lager, or “Bikini Bottom Pineapple Milkshake” IPA with five different hops, lactose, and “copious amounts of pineapple.”" - Alaena Hostetter

I'm not a beer drinker, but my partner and roommate are, and they come here frequently and enjoy what is served. I join them sometimes because the area is relaxed most of the time, and the atmosphere is generally chill. They both say the beer selection is pretty decent, and they often have a few good choices. Since there are typically food trucks that are open nearby, I often enjoy items from one or 2 of them to pass the time. It's pet and kid friendly, so the crowds that show up vary. It's definitely a good place to stop by and check out if given the chance, there is lots to see and do in the vicinity of Denton County itself, so best thing is to make sure you have enough time to see it all.

Google
First time here, glad we came. Lots of good beers to try on tap. Server was nice and helpful.

Google
Took the family here during a Friday night to enjoy some brews and nice weather on their deck. Due to the college holiday break, it was a slow evening, but the service was excellent and brews were delicious. They allowed us to bring over some food from the trucks next door and we enjoyed playing the games and darts.

A must stop when in Denton. A great brewery. Sydney and Audrey are great bartenders

Google
We absolutely LOVE this bar! Thursday nights are karaoke nights and it never disappoints! Conner and Grayson are always here slinging the best drinks with a smile and Johnny is the greatest KJ in town. If you’re not here on a Thursday, you are missing OUT!

Chris Salinas

Google
The best bar for a delicious beer in Denton AND Thursday karaoke, for people who have their weekends occupied with family and chores! Caters to all (drinking) age groups and is friendly to families during the day, for the parents who want a nice beer while the kids play Giant Jenga with some delicious food truck food. Grayson and Connor are some of the best and most knowledgeable beer bartenders, ask them for tasters and learn to love the local beers more than you ever could!

Google
DCBC offers some really tasty Hazy IPAs, if that’s your flavor, just off the square in downtown Denton. Really liked the BIB Vol. 2, easy drinking on a warm afternoon. Matching Tank Tops also a very drinkable Session IPA. Servers were efficient and likable enough, just very engaged/distracted with the regulars at the bar, which is fine, there for the beer anyways, just not the usual vibe from most other craft breweries visited. Really cool decor inside and nice outside spaces as well. Definitely worth a stop and enjoy 🍻

Google
Love it! Great vibe with reclaimed furniture, secret nooks, and creative beers. This is a great atmosphere to try some great sours. Personal fave is the Tony Hop! I mean, how can you not love an IPA named after our fave pro skater! ❤️

Yelp
I am not sure how I haven't reviewed this brewery before. For 3 years now we have had a group of neighbors go here for our annual brewery event. The space is large enough to accommodate us. There are many food options, from the food trucks outside, the Mexican Restaurant next door, to the wings and fries at the brewery. Their beer is outstanding. My favorite is their Poppy's Brown Ale, but they have delicious stouts, my husband loves their selection of IPAs, and the Pineapple Buzz Sour is a great choice. Service is also fast and easy. You start a tab and they will fill you up with your choice of beverages. They also have some wine.

Yelp
Starting off I had a great time- I was able to sample beers and a moscato to get exactly what I wanted- but then when I got a drink that tasted like it went rotten/bad after just sitting out there for a less than 10 minutes, I asked the bartender if I could switch it for another drink or for a new batch and she said no which was pretty unfair and frustrating. Our group bought lots of drinks and it wasn't like I finished the entire drink I only drank a little and once I found it was bad I tried to return it and then the bartender said yes the drink will oxidize if you let it sit. I never knew that was a thing because had I known I would've drank it immediately. I will say it's cool that the place is dog friendly as not all places allow dogs indoors. But it's just unfortunate for being forced to waste a drink I didn't like because the flavor drastically changed from what it was when I sampled it.

Yelp
Denton County Brewing Company was founded by Denton serial entrepreneur and driving force of local son, Mike Barnett, who now has moved closer to north, as owner and manager Mike Barnett, who goes to Trinity Presbyterian Church, at Bell Avenue and Sherman Drive. It's a piece of local history, when the world of microbreweries first started in the 1980s. Keep Denton Beautiful. Slow down on the streets, and enjoy the sunshine when it comes. Cheers, Mark F.

Yelp
Denton County Brewing Company (or DCBC) is such a great place! Clean, spacious interior with a nice patio as well! Extensive beer selection to choose from and super friendly staff. Very reasonable prices! It's a great place for a flight!

Yelp
Great vibe. Great beer selection. Love the ambiance. Highly recommend. (If you're hungry, there's a line of food trucks nearby) yasssssss girl.

Yelp
This place was a great find. Right downtown. Free parking. They brew their own beer. I tried a blonde and a pineapple sour. Plus pretzels and fries. And I think I had wings as well. Came back the next day and tried the mango sour beer. Delicious. Only issue was getting someone to take our order when we sat at a table. We moved from a table to the bar and someone took our order within 2 minutes. They had bingo that night but we got there a little too late to play.

Yelp
Love this place! Authentic Texas Brewery with cowboy hats and gorgeous bartenders. Welcoming and pleasant ambiance, its beer is smooth and delicious I say go have one and enjoy the views.

Yelp
You gotta stop in. The vide is awesome, the servers are always great, and they have an amazing selection of beer...also weird plug, but they have the nicest bathrooms of any brewery I've been in.

Yelp
Drinks: 5/5 Denton County Brewing Company has a large beer selection that covers any type of beer you could wish for. Service: 5/5 Quick and friendly service. Environment: 5/5 Such a treasure and the dartboard inside of the boxcar is soooo cool!

Yelp
Beautiful place with excellent ambiance. Brews are top notch too. Would definitely come back if I could. Friendly staff. Someone put some effort and money and it shows.

Yelp
Great variety and love the flights. Excellent location close to the food trucks. Definitely will be back.

Yelp

Yelp
Happened to be here during a very rowdy karaoke night for a friends birthday. It was a really nice place to take pictures and hang out. I was not super impressed with the frozen wine drink (or whatever I ordered), but all in all a really fun night. This place has a lot of great places to take pictures!

Stanley T.

Yelp
Samantha our server was terrific! We enjoyed the ribeye. Sam was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and we enjoyed our evening

Yelp
Third time here in a few years and it's just as good as the first time. Great brewery with comfortable seating just off the square. When we stopped by, it was mid day on a Friday, and was slow! Staff was super friendly so stop by and grab a drink.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
Extensive beer selection (not my favs but I always will drink it), offer flights and full beers and a few punches/ciders/wines as well for the non-beer drinkers, chill vibes both inside and out. Love their location right off the square. Parking can be tricky but it's better than Dallas
google avatar

Kiersten W.

Yelp
Awesome customer service! Great price and wonderful relaxing place to hang out. I loved the Gold Crash. I recommend for a relaxing place to spend time with friends.

Tia S.

Yelp
Great brewery! The tap list was long with something for every type of beer lover. The atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon was just the right amount of a chill vibe. Bar tender was friendly and helpful. There are lots of cool sitting areas and a nice outside area too. I highly recommend and will stop in the next Im in town!

Yelp
DCBC is Texas AF and I LOVE IT. Playfully decorated, it is a great place to plop down and cool off with a great beer. Feels like a hipster turned cowboy and decided to open a brewery...it has touches of down home, a Texas ranch but also feels hip - but def not pretentious. Unique spot! Service is great. Oh yeah, they have beer and it is great! Lots of creative styles, with something for about anyone who enjoys any kind of beer. Can't wait to come back. Drink local!
google avatar

Yelp
We came here to watch the Cowboys game and get our swag on! Seahawks vs the Cowboys. Cowboys being the winners! Woot woot!! Anyhoo. The employees are wonderful and really sell the product which is beer! Only problem is this place is dead! I mean DEAD!! It's in a great location. Not too far off the beaten path of the square? Food options? NONE! Maybe this awesome place should partner with a food truck or someone that has the ability to make food delivery's. Beer and food go hand in hand. Food might make this place go BOOM! Rustic with picnic tables as seating. Surprisingly comfortable. They offer board games for patrons to play. Noted the following games located at the end of tables. (Scrabble, puzzles, cards, chess, monopoly, sorry, Risk, Trouble. ... etc.) nice variety. I had the London Fog draft 7.3% ABV. Son had Blind Faith 7.2% ABV, and my DIL had the Apricot Edelweiss, a wheat beer, with an 5.8% ABV. All in all my beer was good and that's all that mattered! I'd go back without a doubt. Super great people, and only thing missing is food! 2/2019

Yelp
First time coming here and it was awesome. Stop by here to get a growler fill up by a beer that I saw they had on tap. There is a lot of beer on the menu and that was great to see especially seeing the artwork here.
google avatar

Nette M.

Yelp
Fun time. Nice indoor setup- had tables in the main foyer and also individual rooms with couches for more intimate conversations. They have games and darts to pass the time as well. Not only do they serve beer- they also have wine available. Knowledgeable staff and relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Benita T.

Yelp
When I go visit my cousin's beauty shop I always stop over here. I'm a fan of their beers and I always like getting a flight. They put them in a Texas shaped platter. Now if you ask me which beers I had I'm sorry I am unable to remember currently but make sure you stop by and give them a try. They have an outdoor patio and two private rooms in addition to main area. They do allow you to bring outside food in as well.
google avatar

Yelp
We LOVE THIS PLACE!!! It has evolved into a true gem in Denton. We are currently attending Oktoberfest and it is organized and fun with lots of cool adult activities! Even a brat eating contest later!! The choices and service here are second to none!
google avatar

Wayne W.

Yelp
What's not to love about this place. The environment itself is conducive to relaxation and conversation. The fact that they have Beer for me and Wine for the Wife even better. The selection of Beers is outstanding and constantly rotating! If I were ever to open a Brewery this is exactly how I would picture it!
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful Brewery in Denton- if you're in the area Denton County Brewing is a Must-Go. We had swung by after lunch and tried a cider as well as a house brew- both of which were wonderful to drink on a hot day. There were various places to sit, which was also great. Whether you were looking to play darts, sit amongst a crowd, or have a more personal conversation, DCBC is more than accommodating. The staff was very kind- we took a second to order but they were patient and we did not feel rushed at all. While I am new to the DFW- Denton area, I absolutely love DCBC and will definitely be back. I know they just celebrated their one year anniversary- DCBC Is build to last and I hope to see them thrive in the coming years!!

Yelp
Great place, great beer, great people! A fun place to kickback and visit with friends, very relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Ally D.

Yelp
They have definitely updated their draft selection to include stuff like Franconia Blonde, which makes me want to come to DCBC all the time. We actually walked over after our wedding on Saturday, and the staff treated us so, so well!! We had a large group and they were very friendly and accommodating! I was so happy to be there, and to have great beers with my family and friends. It was an awesome night!

Chris E.

Yelp
Came in at 8pm and tried to order a flight. Was told they already cleaned the boards because it was almost closing time (still had 1 hour?) and we couldn't order one. That was disappointing, but we ordered 1 drink instead. Tried to sit in a certain area and as soon as I sat down, I was told I couldn't sit there because the couch was closed up for the night also. What? Rude rude service and will never come back here. I'm glad I did come though because I was so put off by the servers rudeness that I left and went next door and the atmosphere and drinks were way better and I'm happy I stumbled upon it. Don't waste your time with this place.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Excellent brewery, every beer I had was excellent. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They actually have Netflix on the TVs and will let you pick what you want to watch. Also had the meat and cheese board which was very good. A must visit while in the Denton area. Highly recommend the London Fog NEIPA
google avatar

Kaitlyn K.

Yelp
DCBC has such a great variety of beer! They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I love coming here and always recommend it. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I will definitely keep coming back!
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Best brewery I've ever been to! Friendly staff, but the variety of craft brews are amazing! Not only do you get to try amazing beers but you feel like family here! Definitely coming back for karaoke on Thursday!
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. Beertender was friendly and knowledgeable despite his young age. I tried 3 beers and all were good. But the winter beer was outstanding. Rich Christmas taste. My favorite part was the celtic band playing. No where but Denton.

Mauro S.

Yelp
Good beer selection, cool decor and atmosphere. Bathrooms are clean, didn't try their only food offering (a charcuterie platter). Bonus points for having a few sours available.
google avatar

T B.

Yelp
Good beer, pizza fest was going on while we were there. Cool to see brining in events for the brewery. Good vibe and building. Plenty of space to sit, watch and drink...

Nick W.

Yelp
Perfect beer spot. Indoor outdoor excellence. Comfy space big space u name it the have it. Darts too. Beer is wide variety and all very good. Well done.
google avatar

Giuseppe A.

Yelp
OMG! What a great surprise it was to experience DCBC! Great beer, great people, good food, and great beer. Did I mention the beer? If not, it was great too! They have beer, and lots of it! We went there for the beer, drank the beer, and left with T-shirts, and beer! Yup, it was that good!
google avatar

Courtney H.

Yelp
Such a cool brewery! The space is beautiful, with lots of comfortable and unique seating. There are quite a few books available if you want quiet and privacy. I sampled a couple paler beers, and went with the bartenders recommendation. My beer was refreshing and easy to drink, and I enjoyed sampling the different beers on tap. This is a must-stop for craft beer lovers- it comes off a little hipster, but there are all kinds of people here. I look forward to coming back!
google avatar

Dara S.

Yelp
Fun place! We came with our toddler to check it out thinking it was more food and beers but it was mostly beer. Still, great seating and outdoor space. The guy working there recommended us a great beer to try based on what we said we liked. Didn't feel weird having our kid with us and there was even another lady with her baby. We will definitely be returning and bringing friends.
google avatar

Randall W.

Yelp
Stopped in while out of town from Houston. Great bar staff, guy walked me through a few tastings to hone in on a low hop brew (my pref). The pick: a blonde on passion fruit called the "passionate mustache slap" brew. Slightly sweet, thick, goes down great!
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
This new brewery is a great addition to this part of Denton. They have a really great beer selection and I'm happy to see Pinot Grigio among the wine offerings instead of the perfunctory Chardonnay-only option. My only issue is that some of the beers are offered in smaller quantities for the same price as what you get elsewhere (e.g., Oak Street pours a 16 oz Velvet Hammer for $5 and here it's 8 oz). But that's one beer, and there are plenty of other tasty beers to choose from--and some you can't get anywhere else (hello, Clown Shoes Crasher in the Rye). The space is open but cozy--there's a reading corner, a couple intimate spaces including a small private room that would still be good for small groups. Every single person who works there is positively delightful to talk to, eager to help, and knowledgeable to boot. Everyone seems like they want to be there and enjoys working there. The owners are frequently present and chatting up the customers to see what people enjoy and how they can improve. They are not offering up their own brews just yet, but I understand within the next couple weeks they will be. I'm very much looking forward to trying them. And for what it's worth, I've never found the music to be anything but palatable for all tastes--I think every once in a while on a slow weeknight, a little diversity might be on the table, and that's exactly what one should expect from a bad ass Denton bar.
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Such a cool brewery. Hip, fun, and comfy are how I would describe it. I was stoked that they had some milkshake IPAs on tap.
google avatar

David Q.

Yelp
UNBELIEVABLE beer and the dough on the pizza is ahhmazing! Do yourself a favor and start or end any night here. The music is great the vibe is awesome and the wait staff is attentive! This is the best new beer place in the state!
google avatar

Josy C.

Yelp
First time here to try since it's in my area, really nice and comfortable setup, clean restrooms is a plus! Great atmosphere and they also sell pizza :) Only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars it's cause I'm a dark beer/stout lover and the selection is veryyyy scarce...they only have 2:(
google avatar

Chelsea C.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to get drinks. Great beer selection, great atmosphere and great employees. Everyone is incredibly nice and helpful. Not to mention the fantastic pizza. If you want a fun place to hang out and drink some beers, go here.
google avatar

Justin G.

Yelp
Great beer, great staff and the pizza is damn good too. Definitely my favorite drinking spot in Denton. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Natalie M.

Yelp
Sipping Yellow Rose IPA as the sun goes down... Friendly staff, inventive spaces indoors and a patio with just the right amount of space. Conversations are lively, yet casual- filled with Denton charm. Balanced beer selection: mix of local and other gems. If you're like me and were initially drawn here to try their beer, give it some time. Word is they'll be serving their own craft beer in a month or two. Until then, Cheers!
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
Great service from the bartender. The beer was also great, not what I'd expect an IPA to be, but still a flavorful beer. I've been to more than 90 breweries, so I've seen my fair share, and this one has all the things I love - Cool patio, games, dog friendly, varied and ample seating, food nearby, nice variety of beers, good service, and clean bathrooms. Looking forward to making this a regular pit stop on my travels up and down the I-35 corridor. Wish I could recall the bartender's name to give him extra props, hope he makes it to visit Bend, OR someday. Cheers!

Victoria R.

Yelp
Love their beers! Large selection made in-house, plus other brands, as well. Favorites at last week's visit: Poppy's Brown Ale & a blueberry IPA. Glad they could re-open after covid shut down. Lots of seating options inside and on several patios. Like that they offer flights to try multiple beers. They also offer non-alcohol options.
