"The Denver Bicycle Cafe and its neighboring Tandem Bar have been serving coffee, bike repairs, and beer for eight years on 17th Avenue. They are closing due to construction disruptions in the neighborhood and a restrictive lease that made it impossible to sustain the business. The cafe, which includes a bike shop, will remain open through October before hosting a goodbye party on November 1. The increasing property value and lease terms have raised their shared space cost by $1,000 per month. Construction of the Park 17 apartment complex has blocked sidewalks and traffic lanes, making it challenging for the business." - Paul Albani-Burgio

"Uptown's Denver Bicycle Cafe has good coffee from rotating local roasters, plenty of power outlets, a variety of seating options including the patio, a bustling street to gaze upon for inspiration, and bicycle shop attached to boot. This is a great place to work- up until 5 p.m. where the outgoing barista staff announces that work time is over and community beer-drinking time has begun. (The cafe has an outstanding beer selection if coffee just isn't cutting it.)" - Jessie Levine, Paul Albani-Burgio

Trendy coffee shop on a busy street that offers coffee based drinks and more. The coffee is variety is nice and offers plenty of options. Craft beer in cans is also offered. Very spacious seating inside and out on the patio. The parking in the area can be tough depending on the time of day, parking a bike isn't a problem. As the name states it's a bicycle cafe, so one side of the shop is a bike shop.

One of my favorite coffee shops on Denver that also offers beer and wine if you want to mix it up! Happy hour from 3-7pm. They’ve got outdoor seating, along with bar, bench and table seating available. Good WiFi available, friendly staff, local craft beer, and you can have your bike worked on while you hang out!

If you’re on two wheels probably the best place to get a quick bite or drink. And if you’re not it’s still one of our better cafes. Spacious, plenary of space to get work done, tons of accessible power. Their spiced Chai is one of my favourites.

Really enjoyed my mocha, pumpkin bread, and bagel. The quiche was alright but just not my cup of tea. Lovely environment though and cheery staff.

I would give 6 stars if I could. This place is excellent, top of the line, I will not go anywhere else. If you'd like a lengthy review on why I'm a life long customer and supporter of the Denver Bicycle Cafe, read on... About a year ago I was hit by a car while cycling home from work. In a bike lane and had a green light, but for some crazy reason, the driver's insurance wouldn't cover the cost of the expenses, which totaled over 600 bucks (carbon frame fork). Peter at the bike cafe was so gracious and let me work out a deal to make monthly payments on that bike. My job and finances were not in the best place after the accident and there were months that I would end up paying little or nothing. Still, the guys at the Bike Cafe held on to my bike safe and sound until I got it completely paid off. I've been around other bike shops where they would just sell it if they weren't getting the bill paid off. But these guys kept it and gave me the benefit of the doubt when many others would have done something differently. I have since paid the bike in full and left the shop owner with a big sincere thank you (plus a tip). On the months I was able to make payments I'd take my girlfriend to the shop and we'd grab a beer/coffee/chai and a muffin and grab a game and hang out in the cafe. It's a great place to be. The food is great. It's my favorite chai tea that I've found in Denver. It's become a regular spot, and one of, if not my favorite spots in Denver. Additionally, I used to go with the guys on group rides from the shop. All the guys there are seriously cool and down to earth. I had my bike fixed up with them exclusively since I've been to Denver, even before the accident. Great work, great attitudes, good prices, good beer, lovely atmosphere. I can't say enough good about this place. I even had a mix up when I had my bike tuned where I asked for specific gear, which it turns out they didn't have. They offered to help compensate me, but I didn't take it. They do good work and are honest. They pay it forward. Just.. so seriously... SO awesome. LOVE the Denver Bicycle Cafe. Love it, love it, love it! Do yourself a favor, and hit up this bike cafe. You won't regret it!!!

it's hard for me to give this place 2 stars right now. i have been an avid fan of the vibe here for the past 3 years. recently I've come on the weekends and am extremely disappointed with the guy in glasses who makes my lattes. no care at all. I watch him throw the espresso in, splash the milk all down the side of the to go cup. honestly, I don't need latte art, just please fill it to the top and pour with some pride. why should I come back to only find it's the same dude? truly disappointed. **the dude pictured below is the "barista" who made my coffees 15 minutes ago.

The atmosphere of this cafe is super hipster and urban. Not only their coffee is so good, but also their tap beers are super good and have great selections of them.

I discovered this place shortly after moving into my place 6 years ago. It's my favorite Saturday/Sunday morning (afternoon if it was a late night) place to get coffee and a light bite. The staff is very nice and accommodating to everyone. The staff in the bike shop is amazing too. I love riding my bike but I have very little knowledge of bike mechanics. Whenever I bring it in to have it looked at, they have never made me feel stupid for an issue that ended up being a super easy thing to repair that I could have easily done myself. Suggestion\Question: Do you guys ever hold classes on basic bike mechanics?
