UPDATE: Visited and the beer is amazing, got really tempted and tried some beers with gluten too. Amazing service. Wish they had more snacks 😭 I haven't been here yet, but I just bought some cans from this brewery and I'm so ready to go for some gluten free beer. I've been taking a very long break away from my love for craft beer due to a recent diagnosis of celiac disease. Thank you so much for accommodating!!!

My wife surprised me with a trip to Departed Soles on our wedding anniversary. The place is awesome! Grab a seat at one of their high tops, or some really cool custom made furniture. Tons to look at, great music playing and cards and board games if you and you friends are hanging around for a few. Staff were on point, all were very nice and professional. We had some beer… I mean, we had to try all the gluten free beers which are by far the best gluten free brews around. Had a couple flights, which come in mini skateboards and my wife tried a few of their non-gluten free beers, all were excellent. Had to buy one of their awesome shirts and a couple growlers on the way out, can wait to crack them open. Great job Departed soles. Lastly, ample parking in the parking garage across the street.

NJ has a lot of strong breweries throughout the state. However, very few of them can say they offer a single, gluten-free beer. Departed Soles, on the other hand, offers a massive lineup gluten-free beers as well as full gluten beers. We've had several gluten-free beers over the years that hardly measure up to their counterparts, but that is just not the case at Departed Soles. They are the premier gluten-free beer maker of the state. The two beers you should watch out for are their Doughnut Soles collab with Montclair Bread Company (contains gluten) and the Four My Homie gluten-free IPA. Their recently redesigned taproom now offers even more seating, so you can play with the only (that we know of) skateboard flights at your table!

Just visited from CO and spent my Monday afternoon here! The vibe of Departed Soles was perfect - the music wasn’t too loud, the place was chill, the lighting was not too bright, and there was plenty of seating! And bonus - a sweet brewery dog! Exactly the setting I was hoping for after a week of over-stimulation! I said I was looking for a flight, told the bartender my likes and dislikes, and asked him to pick the beers for me. I was not disappointed! All four beers were exactly to my tastes as described and I enjoyed each! He also recommended a fifth beer as a to-go that also did not disappoint! Will definitely return when I am here again!

If you want something fun and cool to do in JC you go here. It’s in such a great location and the staff is wonderful! Bring your friends- it’s awesome and lively. Been to some birthday parties here too! The beer is unique and delicious. They have so many options and they rotate so you can always find something new too Support small, support local and support breweries!

They are now available and featured in many Bars. Always try the flight. Flights are great way to figure out brews and eventually find your favs. Great place in the hub of Jersey City (2 mins from PATH station Grove Street). Dog friendly and local games.

Best GF beer I have ever tried. We gladly drive over 90 minutes to visit here in person, but are fortunate enough to have a liquor store and restaurant close to home that offer their canned beers. The regular beer is very good too, but my boyfriend is GF so it is really amazing that he can enjoy craft beers still without having to compromise taste and quality.
