DESEO mexican grill

Got two burritos and a burger platter… soon as I open the burger platter there was hair all wrapped up in the fries, immediately lost my appetite. I did call & they did say they will make new fresh fries if it was brought back so I did tbag, anyways never ate the fresh fries even though they looked better, the burger was really good however. Just please wear a hair net and serve fresh fries the first time around !

Wow amazing experience the food is so fresh and brings a lot . Birria tacos are so tasty and packed with meat and cheese. the broth is a little spicy but it was still so good . Great and flavorful Lengua Tacos! Comes with cucumber and radish . Very authentic! I’m so happy that they opened near me , and i would deff recommend to anyone!

The absolute best Mexican food. We ordered the chicken tinga burrito, steak tacos and guacamole and all were generous portions. The meat is seasoned perfectly especially if you enjoy spice and the guacamole was very fresh. Lovely customer service and great options of drinks and desserts too. Highly recommend to everyone!

The rudest manger I have ever meet. They didn’t start to make my food until I showed up after ordering ahead over 40 minutes prior. Then the manager proceeded to reprimand me for leaning on the counter as I waited for them to make my food. I told him I was unhappy my food wasn’t made when I ordered it and he proceeded to yell at me more “everyone makes mistakes” ok then correct it DH. Now u lost my business and I come here once a month or more

Great addition to the neighborhood. They offer a variety of Mexican fare in addition to pizza and appetizers. I had the chicken burrito and it didn’t disappoint. Looking forward to trying other dishes.

Amazing Mexican food with lots of fresh ingredients! I love their tacos and the house made tortilla chips with pico de gallo. The family that owns Deseo is attentive and kind. This is a hidden gem in Grays Ferry!

Came across this place tonight, got the carnitas burrito. It was great, the hours are a huge plus as well, will definitely keep it in mind.

If you're thinking of ordering from here, do not hesitate!!!!! Besides the food being top tier every time, it's run by a wonderful group of people / family. Their warmth and friendliness is worth picking up food, but delivery is fine too. I've been going here essentially every other week for 2 years. We've ordered most of the menu, and they have SUCH variety and nail it every time. Whether you're in the mood for tacos, pizza, a burger, salad, nachos, stromboli, pasta, calamari, fries, they have it all. And it's ALL fantastic. I see some reviews saying it's expensive, but it's not more than anywhere else, especially for the portions and quality of ingredients. Highly recommend the El Sabor burger or white pizza. The burgers can easily serve two people, they're massive and cooked perfect to your desired temp, every, single, time. Medium rare / medium isn't easy to get right every time, but they do. Their fries are deliciously seasoned. The lobster bisque is also perfection. Support your local family owned business and these kind and hospitable people. Your taste buds will be very happy, whether it's authentic Mexican or something like a cheesesteak or pizza. I also appreciate that they have a cooler with SO many different drink options and sweet desserts. There's always parking in the area which is unheard of in South Philly. You can easily find parking on 26th street. There's minimal indoor seating, only a booth, more of a takeout place, but that's never been an issue. It's very clean, I've never had a single issue with the food, 50+ orders prob and never gotten any type of sick. They always follow order instructions / food alterations as well. They are closed on Sundays & Mondays, but any place that's open until 2am deserves some days off. Especially family run.

The food is okay. It all depends on what you order. The one thing they can not make is a medium rare steak. It's covered in oil, it's not seasoned or nothing and it's tough as well

My wife and I were DoorDashing tonight and we had a picked up from Deseo. I entered talked to Vicente and looked behind him at the grill. There was a beautiful BIG burrito that happened to be my pick up. It was calling me. I told him that I'd be back. After our drop off, we ended our dash and called in our order. When we picked up, I told Vicente that I was excited to try the Campechano burrito. He told me that I would not be disappointed. Now, I'm a fan of BIG burritos and I was not disappointed. This Campechano burrito was as big as it's name and even more delicious. It was meaty, cheesy, beany, ricey, and YUMMY! So were the chips, broccoli bites. and the amazing chocolate cake we added to our dinner. Check this place out! They have a huge menu and if it's like our burritos, you will NOT be disappointed. So this place appears to be a "pizza + junk food"/Mexican hybrid. I say "appears" because I tried them only once via Grubhub delivery and I will probably have to try more of the menu to evaluate if they are deliver in every department, pizza, junk food, and Mexican, equally. My daughter's pizza was fine (she loved it). My caprese salad and wings were not "special" BUT all the orders had little thoughtful touches missing from other pizza joints. For example, I had no trouble getting a topping on my daughter's pizza even though I had to write it in (there was no checkoff option). The packing was exceptionally secure and careful, again, little touches, I won't go into details but this was not carelessly packed or delivered for that matter, everything was tightly sealed. My caprese salad had the "wrong" kind of mozzarella for this dish BUT the portion was exceptionally generous and dressing was carefully packaged on the side, as were toppings, so they would remain separate and fresh. And the chicken wings, which easily could have been a junky afterthought, had just the right amount of sauce and were quite large and meaty. Little touches. I am not saying Craig Lebain needs to rush out here, but I will be trying this place again perhaps for its Mexican specialties. Just to be clear I don't award more than four stars to these kind of junk food places, I don't think it would have useful meaning.

Mexican pizza is so delicious. Ordered the pizza over the phone and it was ready in no time.

The food was amazing. Pretty fast service, especially for a Friday night when we went. I had the fried fish tacos and a friend had the al pastor pizza, both were amazing! This place is so underrated. Can't wait to go back to try more.

Excellent fish tacos, rice & beans, cheesesteaks, and quesadillas! They are always friendly and the food is really good, especially for the price point. This is a go-to spot.
