"The home baker at Desert Bread specializes in meticulously laminated croissants. But the seasonal pies, which rotate weekly, are just as worthy of mention. Pre-orders open every week for pick-up on Saturday mornings with whole pies for sale in varieties like peach almond galette, chocolate caramel tarte, and apricot crumble — often incorporating locally grown produce." - Janna Karel

Google
I don't think this bakery exists anymore. The address leads to what seems to be rental kitchen space not a bakery and I can't find an actual location to browse or pick products up🫤 Update: I tried to reach out on their Instagram to find out where they are actually located and didn't hear back. There's an option to go to a website to preorder bread and I got all the way up to the point where they will accept payment still not knowing if this place actually exists to pick anything up. The map on that site just indicates an entire zip code.

Google
oh man these guys are excellent!... I'm a big fan of baked goods especially homemade, everything I tried was wonderful, and you can really taste the care and dedication taken, in every bite! that everything croissant stuffed with cream cheese was one of the best croissants I've ever had, the Ham And cheese croissant was beautiful and excellent tasting, I also thought The Cookie was excellent, and getting it from a pop-up bakery I almost feel like it is an exclusive item you just can't go into the store and buy.... worth the price ,worth the wait... you really need to go check this place out. open Wednesday and Saturday , get there early because there's always a line.

Maris Cockrell

Google
Amazing croissants. Every bit as good as getting them in Paris. It's worth getting up early to be there when they open. They will sell out of the more unique and coveted items quickly.

Beth Sundberg-leoni

Google
The pride in their baked goods is not misplaced. Brett and Brandon bring old fashioned hand made baked goods to modern Vegas. First bite, and setting the alarm to get to pop up site early is worth it.

Erika Woolbright

Google
Open two days a week: Wed 9-11am Sat 8-10 Bakery is in a home. Drive-up shopping. Beautiful pastries...sells out quick!

Brian Newman

Google
Pro tip is to pre order, there can definitely be a large line and items go super fast. It's rare that I can get home without eating it all in the car.

Michael Lee

Google
The bakery delivers high quality delicious baked goods from cookies ,cakes, breads and pastries and sometimes occasional jams and spreads. The bakery is meticulous when it comes to ingredients and it shows in the taste and quality of the food. They sell at a commissary so not much on atmosphere and only takeaway/ preorders. The goods are baked the same day as it is sold until everything is sold out so can't get fresher than that.

Jacob Elder

Google
They are the nicest people and their croissants are maybe the best I’ve ever had! Would recommend!

Yelp
Great pastries! Great owners! Love to get out on a Saturday morning, pick up some pastries and grab a coffee. It's become a fun morning adventure when we wake up craving some parties!

Yelp
Best bakery in Las Vegas! And top 5 best bakeries in the U.S. including by the Bay Area and New York. If you're a true foodie you'll love this place. I've tried their goods at least a few times. Some items are seasonal but so far I really like the Everything Croissant, Chocolate Chunk cookie is to die for, the Sugar Plum and cream cheese danish (when they have it, I think this is seasonal), their sour dough bread and morning bun is good and any of their veggie croissant/tarts are good. A few important things to note is that: 1) This business operates from a residence, not a store front and brick and mortar. Don't worry though everything is super professional and organized. 2 ) I recommend that you pre-order so that you get what you want before items run out. You can see items on their website weekly here https://www.desertbreadlv.com/menu 3) They're only open on weekends. Usually Saturdays.
google avatar

Yelp
Found this hidden gem while utilizing search button in Yelp for Artisan breads. I finally got a chance to try this weekend. All I can say is everything is excellent from the bread to the pastries. I will definitely be back. You do need to place order and pay a week ahead of time when the menu for the weekend comes out, which is no problem. Check them out on instagram! Sorry no photos I ate it all so fast and shared with my sister. The owners were nice and very kind

Yelp
Desert Bread's Christmas selection did not disappoint!! They had Cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, sourdough, bear claw, sticky buns, Oreo mint cookies, pomegranate crème brûlée, chocolate mousse cruffins, prosciutto fontina croissants, and regular croissants on top of multiple pies and cakes. We were lucky enough to try many of these offerings. All delicious but standouts were definitely the Cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, pomegranate crème brûlée, prosciutto fontina croissant and the sourdough. The sourdough needs an award for its chewy interior & perfectly crunchy outer crust. It's really on a whole other level and makes an EXCELLENT breakfast toast!

Peter M.

Yelp
Their sour dough bread rivals the best of the bay area. Other offerings are top notch all the time. Though they are somewhat expensive --- they are worth every bit.

Karina F.

Yelp
Love the concept, the baked goods and the friendly service! A gem in the desert! We are from north Jersey originally. It's so hard to find great bread in Vegas!

Yelp
If there's a place I want to gate keep, it would be this place. Tucked away in a neighborhood near the airport, is a wonderful couple creating delicious homemade delectables out of their kitchen on Saturdays. If you follow their Instagram you can see what's coming up on their menu and can pre-order items on Wednesday to make sure you get everything you want. Prices are a little high but it's the price you pay for quality ingredients, handmade breads, and of course, their time. I want you to come here but I also don't want you to sell it out before I get my hands on a croissant. Just save me a sourdough loaf and we can call it even. Highly recommend --you'd regret it if you miss out.

Robert F.

Yelp
If you need a croissant and can't get to Paris, go to Desert Bread. Brett and Brendon do a great job. Pastries are so good.
google avatar

Kristy L.

Yelp
I came across this business combing through yelp and I'm glad we made a pit stop here. It's just a couple selling pastries and bread out of their home but this place is legit! Unfortunately I didn't pre-order for pickup and by the time we arrived (around 8:30 am) they were sold out of most items. I did get my hands on a French onion croissant which was delicious! They also had a crème brûlée croissant (sold out as well) that I wanted to try. Super popular spot in the community but you really need to preorder or get there at 8 am when they open. There was a queue outside their home for pickup! Follow Desert Bread on instagram to get the latest menu offerings and for preordering! They accept credit card and there's plenty of street parking.

Yelp
Absolutely the best. Owners are amazing. Pastries are Devine. Order ahead for best selection

Yelp
I would never have known about this hidden gem bakery so thanks to a good friend and Yelp, I stopped in this morning to check out the goods. Easy to locate right off Macleod, this farm to table business was started by a couple Brent and Brendon. They started out in Oakland creating their products and found themselves moving to Las Vegas to expand their bakery. Every Wednesday and Saturday they are open for business serving up the best breads, tarts, bagels, cookies, pies and other assorted treats. Based off my first visit, I recommend you arrive early for the best selection of products, but be prepared to stand in line. I was hoping to score some bread today but all sold out by the time I arrived. Instead I picked up some chocolate snails, lemon tart and some chocolate chunk cookies. I could not wait to try the chocolate snail. So fresh, and filled with luscious chocolate. Definitely a nice way to start the morning. I am saving the rest of my purchase to share with my family. You can find them online with a full menu of their creations under their website, they are also on IG and of course right here on Yelp! Be sure to check this bakery out for the freshest goods around.

Yelp
Oh my god. These are the best baked goods I've ever had. Not best in Vegas. Best ever. We got one of each croissant, a donut-muffin, sourdough bagels, and a sourdough loaf. Every. Single. Thing. Is. Perfect. Thank you to the duo behind the bread! I will be back

Yelp
So i have been coming here many times now and needed to write a review for this place. Im surprised there isn't as many reviews on here though! every time i come to get some pastries theres always a LONG line of people. usually 50 people in line ahead of me. and 50 more after me when I'm done ordering. If they open up at 8am on certain days you might want to come at 7 am to 730am or preorder before coming. at least an hour or half hour ahead to avoid the lines with long wait time. waiting an hour is usually normal here. During the winter times its kinda brutal and you have to bundle up extra. Unless you get them on a slower day. They are open Wednesday 8 to 10am and Saturday 9-11am i believe. If you come late then expect for some items to run out quickly. You can follow them on instagram to see whats on the menu weekly and get updates on days when they aren't open. So lets talk about the people who runs this small bakery outside their garage. They really are 2 very friendly guys who are talkative with their customers. They don't rush you while you order so you can take a bit of time to decide without feeling rushed. So the pastries are quite yummy and you can taste the quality of the ingredients in their work. The croissants are the most flakiest and best I've ever had anywhere. their prices for all aren't cheap but i guess you pay for the quality? It is $3 for their medium size cookies to large. their pastries are usually $5 to $7 i think. their whole breads are $10 a loaf. They will have sheet cake there sometimes and a slice might be $7 i think. Bonus thing is they have a whole backyard with a full garden and you can also ask to come back there to check it out. I haven't personally done it yet but I've read it on their IG and others have posted about it. Hopefully 1 day i will get to check it out on a day that has good weather. Come by and get some delicious pastries! They are all quite delectable and super scrumptious. Meet the sweet friendly owners who run the shop. Meet some people while in line. Its a cute fun experience.

Yelp
THE BESTTTTTTT. I am typically not a huge sweets person or baked goods fan BUT let me tell you, these are like nothing I've had before. So light and flaky, not too sweet. I always feel good after. I've tried quite a few even though I usually devour before I get a chance to take pics. I'm not sure what is is about the goods here but they are honestly the best desserts/ breakfast treats I've ever had. I'm currently munching on an almond bear claw and finished the meyer lemon croissant yesterday. The croissants aren't overly buttery and artificial like some. They're light and airy and the dough is perfect. I've had the cookies, the pretzel bread, brûlée quince jelly croissant....the more savory like the broccoli- cauliflower mornay, sourdough bread. Wednesday and Saturday mornings have definitely become my favorite.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Small space with BIG flavor. Get there early as it appears to go very quick. The peanut butter cookies are delicious. The scone was really good. I don't remember what the cinnamon roll thing was called but I got the last one and will be going back next week for more. May be a good idea to order ahead and pick up so you don't miss out on anything.

Yelp
Normally I don't eat grains (I'm paleoesque) but you know, if you're going to eat bread, eat great quality bread! These two talented bakers will NOT disappoint!!! They use high quality organic ingredients and I'm not joking, everything was amazing!!! We ordered a couple gigantic sourdough rounds, a couple croissants, a lemon curd pastry (omg, I died), a couple sticky bun pastries (again, almost orgasmic, can I say that here?), a huge pad/package of cultured butter (mmmmmm) and to round it out and be healthy, a big jar of fermented veggies for probiotic gut health! Will buy from them again REAL soon!!!!!
google avatar

Shari S.

Yelp
The pastries, pies, tarts and breads they make are going to be your weekly craving! You can't go wrong with anything! The croissants are flaky and perfect, the bread is dense and flavorful. The focaccia, when they make it, is creamy and fluffy and full of flavor. Cookies, tarts, pies. They use fresh in season fruits and vegetables, amazing combinations and very creative. I Highly recommend. This is a hidden gem in Las Vegas! Don't miss out!

Yelp
Woaaaah I am SO excited about Desert Bread. I found out about it on Instagram when they were doing an "open studio" and their house/business is a couple blocks from my parents' house. Here's what I know so far thanks to my husband going and getting the scoop cuz I was at work: 1) Follow @desertbreadlv on Instagram or sign up for their newsletter on their website so you can get updates on where they're gonna be selling 2) I think they're going to do open studios on Thursdays where they open their home/garage to sell their breads and baked goods out of which is all solar powered which is super cool! 3) You can message them if you need anything in particular, they mentioned making pies or baked goods for Thanksgiving if you get an order in. K but most importantly EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS ESPECIALLY THE SOURDOUGH. I think I ate half of the loaf by myself. So chewy and tangy I need one every week. We also had persimmon pudding cake, pear and walnut coffee cake (YUM), flourless nut cake, and a chocolate chunk cookie. Everything was awesome and I dream of driving through the neighborhood and picking up some fresh local sustainable baked goods on weekends or for special occasions or just cuz I need some sourdough bread. Yes it's a sort of random neighborhood but I actually love this part of town and I get why they chose it because central location, decent traffic and giant properties! I can't wait to sample more of their menu and hopefully interact more with Desert Bread because it's everything we need in midtown/downtown Vegas.

Yelp
It's a place I only want to know. It's the best croissant I've ever had in Vegas. And I highly recommend orange cake too.

Yelp
Stopped by today on the advice of my daughter. Was not disappointed! I've been looking for a decent loaf of bread here in Las Vegas which is not taken out of a box frozen, then baked like they have in all the grocery stores. These guys have a pretty special niche that fills lovers of a good artisan bread! They had a good choice of yummy things including brownies, Blondie's, cookie, scones, and muffins. Add some tarts, gallettes, and pies to the mix and you get the picture. They bake and sell out if their home on a limited basis. Go early!!!
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Ever purchased some of the best pastries you've ever eaten from the garage of someone's home? I have!!!! Desert Bread is a micro bakery off McLeod and Russell(sounds awkward, it's Russell and McLeod, right?) any who! Follow your map and if you show up too late with a line formed you're running behind! Best advice is get there early, as always early bird catches the best pick ;) I have enjoyed every bite I have taken. My absolute favorite being their french onion soup croissant. Angel food with rhubarb Flourless walnut cake with apricot jam and chocolate butter cream! Lemon Cruffin Bottom line you're incapable of choosing wrong!
google avatar

Yelp
BEST bakery in Las Vegas!! After a foodie trip back to San Francisco I had a case of amazing foods/ sourdough withdrawals and stumbled upon these fantastic gentlemen. This Sat. They are open on Sats only. We purchased chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter thumb print cookies with apricot, chewy gingersnap, carrot cake and two kinds of croissants (classic and artichoke dip) an assorted mix to taste see but OMG. EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING was out of this world! I think bread making is becoming a lost art. Many are so use to eating mediocre bread and may not know the difference but there is a finely crafted skill to making phenomenal bread. Sourdough with a rustic brown crisp crust, soft fluffy insides with hole from the yeast air pockets and that smell sour, earthy, slightly nutty reminding you of days gone by.... These PROS nail it!!! Thank you for keeping the craft of bread making not only alive but thriving!

Namita K.

Yelp
If you want to see the God(s) of your choice, know the truth, and be affirmed that goodness exists, head to Desert Bread! The pastries are unparalleled, customer service is always kind, and in spite of the early opening time, this place sets me up for an enjoyable Saturday, every Saturday. I especially love that they use a wee bit more salt than other bakeries, so the pastries are well-balanced in flavor and pleasant to the taste buds. Laminated pastries are their specialty IMHO, with the sheet cakes a close second. I especially enjoy savory pastries when they have them. Yeah, just go, and go early. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
About frickin' time Vegas has a bakery that's just beyond words in deliciousness! I'll admit, I'm from SoCal, so naturally I'm a tad bougie when it comes to food. Where I come from, fermented sourdoughs, organic grains, and in-house goodies from ethically-sourced ingredients are normal life. Moving here over 6 years ago, I quickly realized that wasn't the case in Vegas (without going to Whole Foods and purchasing that bulk made, processed stuff). I was beyond excited to find two Cali natives with a like-minded philosophy on clean ingredients! I pre-ordered banana cake, chocolate chunk cookies and a loaf of sourdough bread. You can imagine how crazy the 25 minute car ride home was as we had to suffer through the smell of the sexiness from our order! We totally skipped gassing up to hurry home to experience epicurean bliss. Oh. My. Goodness. First off, I'm a fool for ordering only two cookies: they lasted 5 minutes. The banana cake is just...yeeesssss! The moist banana flavor paired with a cream cheese frosting is genius. That kind of yummy flavor should be illegal, for real. I cannot explain what happens to your mouth with each bite...My husband said it tastes just like his mom's baking, and that woman is like Julia Childs on steroids! We are having the sourdough tonight to make paninis with homemade tomato bisque and I'm staring at the clock for dinner time. These guys are super talented. Period. I'm thankful they're sharing the love by way of our tummies! P.S. I got there around 10:30a, and they open at 8am. They sell out like ASAP so either camp out (joking, but not really), set your alarm to arrive at least a half hour before opening, or pre-order the nanosecond you get the email of the Saturday menu. Bon appetit!

Mila A.

Yelp
We came from Sandiego, first time for us and stopped by before we left LV today! I ate those breads after we got back to SD, hmm... YUMMY Good stuff!

Yelp
Excellent sourdough bread, bagels, croissants and other treats like obatzda. We've ordered from them a couple of times and will continue to do so. Order online from their website and either pick up or get free delivery with orders over $50. Delivery is no contact, fast and friendly. Everything comes fresh and fragrant. The bagels are huge, crusted with ET seeds and spices and so awesome. These are not your NY style bagels. These are in a category unto themselves. Nom nom! Go get some and you will be so happy you did.

Alex D.

Yelp
I wake up at 8am on Saturday morning and drive an hour round trip for these pastries. Easily the best bakery in Las Vegas, and I don't think there is a close second.

Yelp
Great pop-up! The guys who run this place are so nice and will give you good recommendations if you're a first time customer. However you can't go wrong with anything really. It is all good. My favorite is the everything croissant--its filled with a garlic herb cream cheese. This is perfect.

Yelp
Desert Bread is life! I've been a fan of Brett and Brendon's pastries for a while now. I first discovered them last year when they were doing local farmers markets, then a short stint at PublicUs, and now they're selling their wares right in front of their home twice a week. On Thursdays and Saturdays you can choose from a plethora of carbs: croissants, scones, epi pretzels, vegan sourdough, chocolate chunk cookies, quiches, sticky buns, muffins, even fresh lemon curd if it's in season. Using locally-sourced ingredients and 100% solar-powered, Desert Bread is a local gem of a business and the guys are so friendly, too. Follow them on Instagram to see what's on the ever-changing menu; some items are always available, but again, others change based on what's seasonal. I went today on my lunch break and got a couple of beignets that were offered this week in honor of Mardi Gras, a couple of chocolate chunk cookies, a sticky bun, and the epi pretzels. No, I'm not eating it all, but am sharing with the family. I can attest that the croissants, cookies, and epi pretzels are delectable because that's what I've tasted so far. The epi pretzels come with obatzda, a cheese mixture of Camembert, goat cheese, cream cheese, and chives--yum! Hours are Thursdays from 11am-4pm and Saturdays are 9am-1pm, but consult their Instagram for the most up-to-date info @desertbreadlv.

Yelp
OMG!!!! We have been HUGE FANS ever since we tried their pastries at one of our regular spots-- Ramen Shop in Oakland. I have been DROOLING over their IG posts for the LONGEST time. We FINALLY had the opportunity to come by. We tried as much as we could: Breadzel Epis w/ Obatzda. Sticky Buns. Sour Cherry-Orange Scones. Herb Jam, Broccoli, Parmesan Croissant Tarts. Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Doughnut Muffins. Banana Bread. Lemon Croissant Twists. Chocolate Caramel Tartlette. Persimmon Pudding. Everything was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed EVERY SINGLE BITE!! They also use the BEST ingredients & 100% Solar Powered too?! You can't beat that!!!!! Thank you Brett & Brendon!! :)

Yelp
Bread and goodies handmade by some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. From my first experience of a farmers market purchase, I was hesitant about a $10 loaf of bread - even though it does weigh about two pounds - but once I went home and tore into it I've never turned back. I'm from the nice humid south, where - unlike here - baked goods don't go stale in the time it takes to cut a piece and get the bite to your mouth. I've never been satisfied by most bread and baked goods in the Vegas Valley, even from the bakeries with the best reputations. These products are different. Desert Bread bread has magnificent flavor - tangy sourdough, yesss... And, it's soft and chewy on the inside, with a crisp crust that is somehow but not hard enough to cut the roof of your month like many I find. It toasts up perfectly, and freezes well (the loaves are so large there's no way I could make it through an entire loaf in a week on my own, so just toss half in a plastic bag, remove air, and throw in the freezer - thaw on counter). Today I tried their pretzels and obatzda (mixed soft cheese dip). Amazing. The pretzel (breadzel) was fantastic fresh or toasted, perfect texture, and I could die happy drowning in the cheese dip. It's going to be hard returning to my healthy vegetable soup after this... So good it prompted me to write a Yelp review for the first time in years.

Yelp
Great, amazing pastries!! We tried 5 or so different pastries this morning and every single one was 10/10. The French onion pastry was fantastic. We will have to stop by again for sure! Thanks guys!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved meeting with the owners! The pastries are excellent, especially loved the crème brûlée danish. My family loves the everything croissants. Can't wait to try more!

Yelp
I just tried a few of their items. All were very good. Their biscuits are great. I come from the south and grew up with home made biscuits. These are buttery, flaky, moist and huge, great taste as I grew up with. Their donut muffin was so good, glad I only got one. Great tomato sauce and great pretzels too. I'll try more soon.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not going to write a super detailed review, but what I will say is that they do have the best pastries I've had here in Las Vegas. My wife found this place somehow, and they always impress.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome pastries, bagels, bread. Drive from NW part of town. Not disappointed. Worth the drive.
google avatar

Yelp
EVERYTHING is delicious! I get something different every time! Bread, pretzels, pastries, quiche, cookies - AND MORE!! This is a MUST stop for everyone!!

Yelp
This place was a hidden gem. After reading an article about them, I had to give them a try. I was not disappointed. The sourdough is amazing! The pizza dough, sauce, butter, potato turnovers, gingerbread, and brownies were all fantastic! I can't say a bad thing about their food, or service. Our order was over $50, so we got free delivery to our home. I will definitely order again.
