Desert Bread is life! I've been a fan of Brett and Brendon's pastries for a while now. I first discovered them last year when they were doing local farmers markets, then a short stint at PublicUs, and now they're selling their wares right in front of their home twice a week. On Thursdays and Saturdays you can choose from a plethora of carbs: croissants, scones, epi pretzels, vegan sourdough, chocolate chunk cookies, quiches, sticky buns, muffins, even fresh lemon curd if it's in season. Using locally-sourced ingredients and 100% solar-powered, Desert Bread is a local gem of a business and the guys are so friendly, too. Follow them on Instagram to see what's on the ever-changing menu; some items are always available, but again, others change based on what's seasonal. I went today on my lunch break and got a couple of beignets that were offered this week in honor of Mardi Gras, a couple of chocolate chunk cookies, a sticky bun, and the epi pretzels. No, I'm not eating it all, but am sharing with the family. I can attest that the croissants, cookies, and epi pretzels are delectable because that's what I've tasted so far. The epi pretzels come with obatzda, a cheese mixture of Camembert, goat cheese, cream cheese, and chives--yum! Hours are Thursdays from 11am-4pm and Saturdays are 9am-1pm, but consult their Instagram for the most up-to-date info @desertbreadlv.
