"The ceviche and crudo specialists at Desnuda also serve dollar oysters (and clams) at both the Williamsburg and East Village outposts as part of happy hour offerings. However, the deal runs for longer hours at the Brooklyn offshoot, available all night long on Sundays and Mondays and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday. The Manhattan location also has $1 oysters available all night on Sundays and Mondays, and from 6 to 7 p.m. the other five nights." - Stefanie Tuder, Patty Diez, Alexandra Ilyashov

Amazing Food! I come here often and on Sunday they have great $1 oysters and clams. Quality is very good and also the rest of the food is great. I am always impressed how the staff is able to manage so many people considering they have just 2 people in the kitchen. Perfect place for a date or again, if you are looking for oysters this is the place to go!

Google
What an amazing treat! Everything we ordered was so flavorful, complex and fun - one of the most fun meals I've ever had. And considering the freshness, the quality and the creativity they delivered, the price was very reasonable. Sorry, but we ate all our entrees before we could shoot them.

This is my wife's favortapot. Great drinks. All well balanced and true to the ingredients. The small plates are a joy. Each one highlights the ingredients and is not muddled by saltiness or any other flavor. They managed to put a new spin on shisito peppers (hint: the sardines are amazing). Sitting at the bar is a treat as you hey to see a fair amount of the preparation. Which is also great because the staff is super cool and attentive. Never disappoints.

Google
Good service and good food. The happy hour oyster and clams are good deal.

Google
Food is amazing small restaurant but 5 star food be papered to order a lot as food comes in small bites every dish that came out the flavors and food was amazing props to the chef

Google
Beautiful fish dishes made with thought, care, and passion. The yellow tail is incredible and unforgettable! We went on a Monday night for the all day happy hour- the $1 oysters were excellent. They have great cocktails and they offer solid pairing advice. This is probably not a casual stop in, though. It is fairly pricey but a great date spot.

Google
Great place, delicious food (specially the mango Ceviche) nice staff and the best oysters and clams in Brooklyn!

Olena Ponomarenko

Google
Absolutely a five star place by any criteria! Food - delicious! Drinks extraordinary, pairing great with the food! Atmosphere super romantic and fun, great for a date with a loved one and/or a catchup with friends! Definitely recommending! Sit at the bar for a better experience (they cook in front of you)

Yelp
Great service and good! Branzino to die for and rib-eye melted in my mouth, and oh yes, seasoned to perfection!!!

Yelp
Great vibes all around. Good, flavorful cocktails. The octopus casserole was not bad, but it was mainly packed with potatoes and not enough octopus. The flavor was interesting; it was mainly creamy and could have used a bit more salt or umami. We also ordered the trademark sandwich, which came with an egg, steak, and ham, and fries. Fries were delectable, sandwich messy, meat well-cooked. Quality ingredients all around, but flavor was just a tad lackluster; could have used a bit of heat or citrus or just even salt. Overall, would want to come back and try other items on the menu. Take note that they only take cash or AmEx lol (new level of wealth?)

Victoria K.

Yelp
The best part about Tabare is definitely the vibe-- so warm and welcoming. They don't rush you at all (we took FOREVER to order, and they were super accommodating). We ate for a long time, sat for a long time, and there was truly no rush. It was giving Europe with how generous they were with time. Food wise, my favorite thing I ate was the beef empanada. Super fresh and flavorful; give me 10 more. I was also a fan of the brussels salad, which was both savory and sweet. Where I went wrong was definitely the ravioli-- while it wasn't bad, I just don't think ravioli is where their strong suit is. The plate was lackluster compared to the burgers my friends got, and the flavor was a bit bland. I'd definitely recommend going with a meat dish (as the menu says they're known for), and absolutely that beef empanada!

Tigui D.

Yelp
Everything was really good!! We order empanadas, steak and the pasta dish everything tasted delicious. The drinks were so good and the service was excellent! Our waitress was great! The vibes were romantic and sexy!! Make sure you have cash or AMEX because that's the only thing they accept as payment and they have an ATM too.

Steph D.

Yelp
Cute ambiance, rustic / industrial feels, dim lighting and an option to see "out" back, which is fully covered as well. The service was friendly and accommodating, great recommendations provided. We really enjoyed our drinks, they were pretty strong, from the margarita, mojitos & their bourbon cocktails. The food is delicious! Very flavorful, in all the right ways! Their Churrasco & Rib Eye were so juicy and cooked to perfection paired with a really tasty chimichurri sauce! Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Short review: Just solid food. Would probably recommend the Chivito Completo the most but everything was solid. I went to this Uruguayan restaurant a while back with a group. The service was friendly and the place has a laid back bar atmosphere without much lighting which means my photos of the food aren't exactly that good. To drink I had the El Cabo which is normally $11 but I think it was $8 or so during happy hour which is normally with tequila, lime, grapefruit, and a smoked paprika rim but I got it with mezcal instead which they were fine with substituting. It was a smoky tasty drink with some citrus. We got a few appetizers to split first. The Empanadas came with either grass-fed beef and green olives; free-range chicken, onion, and peppers,; or Spanish tuna with black olives; or a kale based vegetarian option that we didn't order. I tried a bit of each with my preference being the beef, then the tuna, and then the chicken but they were all pretty tasty. They're probably the only thing I found here that was a bit overpriced. Also very tasty was the Pâté Casero with organic chicken liver pâté and onion marmalade which was served with some toast. The pate had a good texture with some richness and paired nicely with the sweet onions and pickles. The quality would have been good in a French spot and was more than good here. I don't remember much but we also had the Chorizo Adobado with Uruguayan sausage, roasted onions, red peppers, and adobo sauce. This was fine. We otherwise got a couple mains to split amongst the group. My favorite of the bunch was the Chivito Completo which is their take on a classic Uruguayan sandwich. This consists of grass-fed filet mignon fried organic egg, bacon, provolone, black forest ham, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, bibb lettuce, beefsteak tomato, Spanish olives, and aioli served with fries. All those ingredients came together for a messy delicious sandwich with a good mix of flavors from rich to salty. The steak was very tender in particular. The fries were fine but nothing notable. There was also the very good Churrasco consisting of a 10 oz skirt steak with chimichurri, duck fat potatoes, and a green salad. This steak again was tender with a bit of herbal sourness from the chimichurri though not as much as some other spots. The potatoes were rich with a good texture (I didn't have much of the salad.) The Homemade Pappardelle with said pasta with a portobello-truffle cream was my least favorite of the mains but still fine. There was plenty of pasta which was cooked nice and al-dente and the sauce had plenty of mushrooms and had good umami. They also grated some cheese at the table which was a nice touch. For dessert, I went with the Alfajor Rustico with layers of crisp homemade cookies, dulce de leche, chocolate ganache, and sea salt caramelized walnuts. This was a fun spin on the dulce de leche cookie found all over that region and wasn't as overly sweet as I expected with a good mix of textures. I tried a bit of the Manjar Del Cielo or dulce de leche flan which was more standard and perfectly fine. The food here overall was very solid. The prices were reasonable outside of perhaps the empanadas being a bit overpriced and the flavors were solid. There wasn't really a bad dish among everything we ordered and the meat in particular was cooked perfectly. It's hard to make many complaints. Mid 4 for general quality and reasonable prices.

Yelp
Charming and Intimate Latin restraint tucked away in Williamsburg. Have been here twice and enjoyed both times. Came on a Monday without a reservation and was seated promptly in the covered back patio. It is a lovely restaurant with good service. For drinks we got the sangria and the Hibiscus Mezcalita, both drinks were good. Only wish was the sangria was larger. For appetizers we got the empanadas, 1) chicken 2) Gruyère cheese, both were flavorful. For entree we tried the Ravioli which was very rich and hearty. Wanted to try the lamb lasagna but unfortunately they were sold out for the night. Overall a great experience, will certainly be back!

Cathy L.

Yelp
Came here for date a night and it was just the perfect warm vibe for a cold winter night. Very cozy cabin feels. We shared the mussels, grilled octopus and churrasco. The mussels and steak were fantastic, definitely will be ordering again. The grilled octopus was mostly potatoes sadly so that dish might be a miss for us moving forward. The drinks were fantastic! For what we ordered, the check was not bad at all. This might be a new favorite dinner spot for us!

Lina F.

Yelp
Service was impeccable and the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. Case in point, I couldn't decide on the recs made for my entree and the bartender let me taste both before deciding on a pairing. The atmosphere is very intimate and cozy. I really love places like this. I took the bartender's rec on the wine for my skirt steak and also tried the beet salad. Both delicious and very filling.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
I fell in love with Tabare Bushwick and was pleasantly surprised there was also a location in williamsburg which is way closer to me. I was able to schedule a same day reservation for valentine's night dinner so that's a plus. This might be my new favorite restaurant in NYC. The flavors and pricing is out of this world. Highly recommend the cheese empanada and ribeye steak!

James W.

Yelp
Serving traditional Uruguayan food, their churrasco (steak) is unbelievable ~ full of flavor and sauce. I would also recommend their empanadas. The beef & onion was my favorite, but the kale one was also good. The staff are incredibly kind and were able to make space for us at the bar when all the tables were reserved, which, as a protip, is a kind reminder to make a reservation.

Beatriz M.

Yelp
Beautiful romantic cozy spot! Food is delicious and filling! I got the chivito and a fondu like appetizer! I didn't love the dessert but the food was so warming and flavorful! We went to celebrate a friends' birthday and the staff was so accommodating! (Cash only) but there is an atm in the back of the restaurant!!

Ana G.

Yelp
This spot is so nice! I wandered in here after walking around the neighborhood. The vibe is very cozy and the food was outstanding. I ordered their signature sandwich and it exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! I enjoy Argentinian food, and this spot the owner is from Uruguay The traditional sandwich was succulent and delicious, and the fries were to die for!! I will definitely come back !

Yelp
On the first frigid evening of this winter, Tabare had a warm welcoming atmosphere. My friends and I loved absolutely everything we ordered. The verde drink was so good, we all ordered it. It sounded like it would be sweet, but it wasn't. The kale salad was delightful, loved the salty cheese kick with anchovies, felt like a Caesar salad, but better! We ordered both the cheese and beef empanadas, I preferred the cheese, and one of my friends preferred the beef. Needless to say, they were both phenomenal! The octopus appetizer was surprisingly large, tasty, and cooked to perfection. I've been turned off by octopus (and duck) recently, probably because of a few bad restaurants but Tabaré is motivating me to keep ordering octopus since it's so good! We split the crowd favorite Churasco and It didn't disappoint. Cooked to perfection, sizable portion and good sides. My other friend couldn't resist flan... and even though I typically don't love the jiggly thing, I'm glad she made us get it. It helped that it was dulce de leche flavored, but boy did it hit. It was perfectly rich, just the right portion and satisfying. Definitely will be back to Tabaré to try the other dishes and cocktails. Great date spot or to catch up with a small group of friends. Quarters are tight, so don't come with a big group!

Yelp
Wow! Such a fun little restaurant with great ambience and super kind staff! Stumbled across this place on a Thursday night and it was packed! The place just exudes good vibes and great company. The food came out so fast and everything is very reasonably priced! Everything on the menu looked great and was super fresh. Definitely give this place a try if you're looking for a new restaurant to try out!

Anjolika B.

Yelp
Really great food and service. It's cash only or Amex (which is interesting!) and it's a really great value. If you have the appetite for it they have a special for a coffee, a drink, and a food item for a great price. The enclosed back patio was really cute.

Kelly Z.

Yelp
We were really excited to try this place but it did not meet expectations. We ordered the chicken and beef empanadas, these were okay. The grilled octopus was mostly lima beans and maybe 5 pieces of octopus. For entrées, we order the ribeye, the Churrasco, burrata ravioli and the Lamb Bolognese. The ribeye quality was really poor, tasted more like a flank steak and we asked for medium rare, it came out to be more on the medium side. The Churrasco was also really tough and the chimichurri sauce was not that great. The Lamb Bolognese pasta was very gamey and not enough sauce when they first brought over the pasta, my first reaction was it's not saucy enough. The pappardelle pasta used in the dish was good and silky though. The best of the 4 dishes we ordered was the burrata ravioli, but it's also the hardest dish to mess up on, it's simply cheese and pasta. Overall, the food lacked salt and taste. The service was also really poor, it took us a while to flag someone down to order food, drinks and the check.

Yelp
I have eaten at this location a couple of times and at the other location as well . I feel like I have to give a review because this place never lets me down . It's a cozy spot to eat weather with a group or with a loved one, The music isn't too loud and it's always just chill music . The service whenever I have gone always feels Welcoming and warm , the waiter/waitress always come over to ask how my food is and if I would like something else . I also attended Tabaré while pregnant and they were able to cater to my eating needs and restrictions without a problem . The food is always superb the steak is cooked how I asked and the fries are always hand cut and never have that fake taste like some places have. The drinks are also unique and taste so amazing . I definitely recommend Tabaré for a cozy night out or for brunch .

Tyler S.

Yelp
Cozy vibe, low lighting, fantastic food. I started off with a mix of empanadas. They were beyond great. I had the chicken with peppers and onions along with the beef and olives. Highly recommend. My main course was lobster ravioli, it didn't disappoint. The service was incredibly fast. Would be a great date night spot or early solo dinner. Highly recommend trying.

Elianny S.

Yelp
Be aware that this place only accepts CASH OR AMEX! This is a very cute place with lots of odd little artifacts that showcase Uruguayan culture. The first thing I noticed was how dim the light is here. It's great if you're looking for a romantic date spot but might have issues reading the menu if your eyesight is not great. We decided to order a few dishes to share, including the empanadas, churrasco, rib eye, ravioli, and chorizo adobado. Overall, the food here was very good, I really loved the beef empanadas and the rib eye steak. The meat was cooked perfectly, medium rare, and very tender and juicy, I only wish that they would have added a bit more salt and pepper to really enhance the flavor of the meat. We ended up asking for salt and pepper, and this really took the meat to another level. The meat came with salad and potatoes, the potatoes were a bit hard and just not that great. I tried the ravioli, and it was just beyond bland and tasted so healthy in not a good way. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and the staff was extremely nice and gave us free champagne which was very thoughtful. For dessert, we ordered the flourless chocolate cake and dulce de leche flan. This has to be the best flan I've had besides the one that my mother makes. I grew up eating homemade flan and will never order it out since I'm usually disappointed, but this flan was simply amazing.

Nadia C.

Yelp
excellent Uruguayan spot. the quality of meat and ingredients were very noticeable. Meat is a must for a Uruguayan meal... we got the Chivito and Churrasco. we also had the provoleta and empanadas as an appetizer. we did not have the wine, but saw a huge selection of Uruguayan and Argentinian bottles. great atmosphere, food, and customer service. will be coming again!

Noor S.

Yelp
came here for a birthday dinner, and had the most pleasant time. we went to the williamsburg location- beautiful interior, cozy as well. genuinely a romantic dinner. food was so flavorful - drinks, apps, and main course came out in a timed fashion. i am very content:) Order: Empanadas: -Caramelized Onions, Gruyère, & Fontina -Chicken Onion Peppers -Hand-Cut Grass-Fed Beef, Green Olives x2 Appetizer: Chorizo Adobado This is an uruguayan sausage with roasted onions, red peppers, and coated with adobo sauce Main: Churrasco 10 lbs skirt steak topped with chimichurri, lard confit potatoes, and a green salad mix.

Clari B.

Yelp
Came in for a celebration and everything went well. The servers were very attentive and the bartender was on their game. The cocktails, I had, were on point. I had La Sombra and Pituco. The Sombra was very smooth with no overwhelming scents/flavors pulling you one way, the Rosemary was the star of the show though. The Pituco; I could have had many many more of that delicious and refreshing drank. Others got mojitos (they were traditional and delicious) and a special, I forget the name, but not the flavor. It was one that was straight up pisco and lemon, nothing else. If you love pisco and can enjoy straight alcohol cocktails like martinis, then maybe try it. The entraña was cooked to the requested temperatures perfectly per those who ate it. I thought the steak and the potatoes had minimal flavors. The empanadas were very yummy and the chimi was perfectly spicy. The raw kale salad was... just that, a raw kale salad. It definitely could have used more of the ingredients listed. We had a slice of lemon on the table and that helped greatly. The morcilla was delicious but super hard to eat. I'd love that as a sausage separate from the bread as it definitely isn't spreadable meat like pâté. Overall still a quaint place to pop in for a couple of hours to chill, drink and indulge.

Koriey H.

Yelp
Thoroughly impressed with this place!!!!! First impressions are everything and I was hooked from when the door opened. Upon arriving Emilio greeted me with an open door and smile. I had to wait for friends at the bar and Emilio made me the perfect starter drink and even gave recommendations (he was a delight). The place is small yet quaint and comfortable. The dim lights and amazing playlist definitely adds to the vibes. After moving to a table we got more drinks and order hella food. Drinks- The Zorro , this mezcal drink with the slight tang from the Tabasco was perfection. Food- MUST HAVES -Blue Cheese Brussels sprouts, any of the empanadas, and the homemade pasta. All bursting with flavor and love. Unfortunately the Churrasco, and Branzino were slightly under seasoned lacking appeal and the dessert Alfajor Rustico was a complete miss. The homemade cookies were nice but the dessert was completely dry (texturally it was a fail). Overall the experience was nice. Many things I enjoyed especially the hospitality and I'll be back to try more :)

Taylor K.

Yelp
This place is so cozy, serving up authentic food that we rarely see in the city. They have an amazing $20 prixe fixe brunch deal where you get an entree, coffee and 1 drink (mimosa, sangria) for $20, with an up charge for certain items. I had the Churrasco which was delicious. The steak was a bit overcooked but overall I enjoyed my food. The service is a bit slow but overall I definitely recommend for a brunch!

Theresa L.

Yelp
Great food and drinks! Definitely check out their happy hour (nice selection of beer, wine or cocktails). FYI: Cash or Amex only (great if you have the Amex Gold). For the apps, we got the mussels ($15), olives ($8) and empanadas ($9) - all delicious. The sauce for the mussels was so good we definitely needed more bread. For the entrée, we each got the churrasco ($28). Skirt steak with potatoes and salad. We were stuffed by the end. Cocktails during happy hour were $8 so we tried a few. I'd recommend El Cabo or La Sombra. Overall great place to treat yourself to some good food and drinks.

L B.

Yelp
Always excellent and superior to so many other restaurants. I love the staff in the bushwick location ! It is a beautiful restaurant and it has been a go to for so many years .

Fernanda U.

Yelp
Love it!! First time here and the food was amazing.... Love the vibe of the restaurant and the service was really good!! Super recommended!!!! Facundo was really nice and very attentive!! Thank you

Tori T.

Yelp
I really enjoy this restaurant, I have been twice. They have great happy hour deals. I got the empanadas this time and the burger last time. Both were very good. My friend has celiac and she got a soup and enjoyed it. A little annoying that they only accept cash and AMEX but there is an ATM inside.

Likitha M.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat in the area and stumbled upon this restaurant! We went around 10pm and it pretty packed when we arrived. It was really dark inside but overall a great place for a nice candlelit dinner. I've never personally tried Uruguayan food so I was super excited to look into the menu. We ended up seeing the people next to us with the churrascos and it looked so good so we both ordered the same. The steak was perfectly paired with their chimnichurri and plated with duck fat potatoes and a salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and it was a perfect portion size for me. We also tried their dulce de leche flan and it was so good!! Overall, they had great service and made our experience here pleasant. Like the other reviews mentioned, they do only take cash or AmEx -- neither of which we had lol -- but they let us pay with Visa since they said that the ATM was closed so they didn't mind. Highly recommend!

Christine H.

Yelp
Cute place in Williamsburg Date night worthy Good ambiance Nice decor Friendly service Indoor and outdoor seating Affordable Tasty drinks and food Resy's are recommended The churrasco is seasoned well and cooked to your liking Will be coming back for more

Jeff K.

Yelp
Great restaurant with awesome music and interior design. Food is very creative and diverse. I was obsessed with my main courses, but the apps were fantastic as well! App: Empanadas chicken onion & peppers Empanadas grass-fed beef & olives Split Meals - squid ink seafood ravioli: shrimp, lobster, scallop, lemon sage, brown butter (great!) uruguayan ribeye (special of day?)

100% recomendad

Brandon H.

Yelp
Very cool, chill vibe and has been around for a while! Enjoying this lovely El Capo and Chivito Completo before I go see Bebel Gilberto at the The Opera House a couple blocks down the road on Berry St. Incredibly delicious!

Jason L.

Yelp
Nice little spot with good drinks and bites. I came during happy hour and got some mojitos and empanadas. The drinks are pretty strong and during happy hour are 7$. What I think steals the show for me though are the empanadas. You have to try the fontina cheese & onion combo. Amazing flavor and has a great cheese pull. I also got the beef and green olives empanada which was also tasty. A good intimate spot for catching up with friends or going on a date.

Kristen M.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with a friend and got the $20 brunch special (includes one drink, one coffee, and one course)--very good deal! Patio was really nice though a bit cramped. FYI cash or AmEx only. Definitely would come back.

Kinjal P.

Yelp
Happy hour specials are great deals! Any wine is $7 and any beer is $5! Yes it's only cash or Amex but they let you know that and it's written everywhere so you shouldn't be surprised. We got the chicken and beef empanadas and both were so delicious! I thought the chicken one wouldn't be but I was surprised how flavorful and juicy it was! I don't know which one I liked more. And the sauce it comes with I wish I could pack it up and take it home! It's so good! The empanada shell on the outside was perfectly crispy and not too hard and nice and soft the inside. They were the perfect size and good quantity of meat. Next we shared the churasco- skirt steak...omg it was the best skirt steak we've had! It was perfectly cooked the way we wanted it and the chimichurri sauce on top was so flavorful and complimented the steak so well. I still think about this dish all the time. It comes with duck fat potatoes that are also so delicious! Would come back just to eat this again. We also got olives on the side and it came with a lemon. I never had lemon with olives but I tried it and it goes well together. Definitely new for me.

Dara R.

Yelp
CASH AND AMEX ONLY!!! Boooooo!!! This place needs to stop their financial discrimination of payment options. The food is great and the service is attentive. I had a burger and my friend had steak. Really good portions and amazing drinks. They could make the ambiance a little lighter/brighter and the place gets super packed. Note-- I was told to get cash for payment from the ATM across the street from the place at a bodega. However, the bodega ATM ran out of cash and when I told this to the restaurant management- handing them what cash was left from the bodega machine (less than half of our bill) they FINALLY took my Visa as payment. This is a big hassle and looks bad for the establishment when all you want to do is go out to enjoy dinner conveniently. Would NOT recommend only due to payment limitations!!!!!

Lita L.

Yelp
Ambiance intimate and lowlit Service homely Brooklym feeling Food and drinks delicious Went on a week day

Jolie S.

Yelp
From the moment you walk through the door, you'll know you're in for a treat. The thoughtfully designed interior creates such a warm space, instantly transporting you from the rat-infested streets of NYC, to a carnivore's haven in Uruguay. All of the dishes we tried were simplistic, yet tasty. The cheese and beef empanadas had a great ratio of pastry to filling, and weren't greasy at all. My skirt steak was perfectly cooked and tender, although I do wish it had a more flavorful Chimi to accompany it. Our group also enjoyed the Roasted Beet Salad, Chivito Completo, Tabare Burger, and creamy Flan. An added bonus is their Happy Hour, during which they offer a wide selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. Go now, and thank me later!

Maggie T.

Yelp
Tabaré is a super cute Uruguayan restaurant tucked away off the beaten path in Williamsburg. I was really impressed by this place -- both the food and drinks were really good and I thought the prices were reasonable. I ordered the Verde to drink as well as the burger, which was well seasoned (and the fries were really good!) We walked in on a Saturday night around 7 and were seated outside right away. However, our waiter was rather short with us and wasn't very friendly, although the food made up for it. FYI, they only accept cash or Amex!!

dena m.

Yelp
Tabaré was :Cozy, nice, good service, food was great! We lost reservation came in late but found sitting and it was full. The appetizer came quickly and the rest of food came in pretty quickly as well. Forgot to take pictures of dessert Alfahor Rustico and Flourless chocolate cake with berries delicious

Colleen K.

Yelp
Such a cute restaurant on a side street of Williamsburg. They have options to sit outside, inside and in their backyard. We came here for brunch on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded, which was perfect for us. How can you beat a $20 prefix brunch menu! It includes one drink, one main dish and coffee. We started with the melted aged provolone cheese with oregano toast. It was absolutely delicious and made with cheese and a butter. It was served on a cast iron skillet to ensure the cheese stayed hot and melted. It can definitely serve as great hangover food lol! For our main course, we had the Milanese De Pollo A Caballo and my fiancé had the Churrasco A Caballo. They were both made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. I loved how they were served on cute wooden serving boards. We were too full for dessert. I guess our diet starts tomorrow. Highly recommend for a low key brunch spot or date night.

Katelynn C.

Yelp
Adorable and rustic environment with a fantastic staff and two fantastic areas outside. The food is fantastic - I had the blood sausage - so good! One of the best kept brunch spots with a 20 dollar prefix. Includes a main, wine, and coffee. The wine list focuses on Uruguay- as it should!! So it's a good place to try something new! Only con (which tbh isn't a real con for me) is they only take cash and Amex.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for lunch on a Saturday and spent nearly three hours here! I would definitely recommend sitting outside at the front of the restaurant or outside in the back. The inside is very dark and when it's beautiful out, I think outdoors is a great option. The service was awesome. We had a few amazing people helping us throughout our meal, and I am so glad they let us stay for so long without rushing us out. Onto the food! They have a $20 brunch pre-fixe that comes with coffee, an alcoholic drink (wine, mimosa, sangria), and an entrée. It's a great deal. You can sub the coffee with tea if you want (which I did). I got the empanadas--one beef and one chicken--and I'm so glad I did. They were some of the best empanadas I've ever had because they weren't too dry. I also tried my friend's blood sausage sandwich which was delicious as well. So without the pre-fixe, my meal would have been $9 for the empanadas and $15 for the glass of wine, bringing the total to $24 (not even including the tea). Like others have warned, they only take Amex and cash, but they can accept Apple Pay if you don't have your physical Amex card.

Yelp
First time trying Uruguayan food! We came here on a Friday night. We were able to get a reservation for 6 people the day of so that was pretty lucky of us. I'd recommend making advance reservations as the restaurant does get pretty busy. Since being my first time here, I don't have any expectations on what this type of cuisine has to offer. The drinks here were great! I usually get sangria when available, but I'd probably pass on it next time. Wasn't terrible but also wasn't anything special. Their specialty cocktails are definitely more refined in taste, and I do recommend opting for those instead. For food we got the Blood sausage toast, Churrasco, Grilled octopus casserole, chicken paté, kale salad, fish of the day, and mussels. My personal favorites were the churrasco (skirt steak) and the grilled octopus casserole. The flavors in both these two dishes were so rich, they definitely stood out the most. The fish of the day was served with kale and what seems to be a pumpkin purée spread. I also enjoyed this dish as well! The chicken pate and blood sausage were okay too, not my usual choice of dish, but it was good trying them out. The mussels were your standard mussels cooked in a white wine broth, and that was prepared well! Overall would recommend trying this restaurant for anyone seeking to try something new!

Yelp
Delicious but I prefer the Bushwick location! I live closer to the Bushwick location so my boyfriend and I typically go to that spot instead of this one. We decided to venture a bit outside of our immediate neighborhood and we landed here. To mark the occasion of "trying a new spot" lol, I tried a new meal. I usually go for the Churrasco but I went with the Milanesa de Pollo this time and I wasn't a huge fan of the dish overall. To start, the sweet potato chips don't do it for me and the chicken was a bit dry/over-fried. My boyfriend went with the Branzino special as usual and it did not disappoint. For appetizers, we got the Provoleta which is our go-to but the cheese hardened up this time so we couldn't enjoy much of it. We also tried the empanadas this time and they were quite delicious. While the service was good, the experience wasn't what we're accustomed to so we'll stick with the other location!

Yelp
This was my first time trying Uruguayan food, and I LOVED it! I came with a friend, and I made a reservation for 2 at 7pm a week before - you could probably walk-in but it did get busier later at night. We sat in the back section of the restaurant, and it was well-lit and really cute! We ordered the Uruguayan ribeye (came with salad and duck fat potatoes, everything was so good especially with the chimichurri sauce, we almost bought a jar to take home!), beef and chicken empanadas (can't go wrong with either), and Uruguayan sausage (great flavor and the sauce topped it off). One thing to note is they ONLY take cash and Amex!
