"Downtown’s Devon Seafood Grill location is closed. The Kansas-based company has operated the seafood spot at 39 E. Chicago Avenue for more than 13 years. The suburban Oakbrook restaurant remains unaffected." - Ashok Selvam

I'm quite disappointed because I had really high expectation after reading all the great reviews. To me, the food quality and service were just okay. We ordered the prixe fixe menu which was great value for the money. I got the 6oz fillet, it was beautifully cooked, slight red in the middle. However, it didnt taste as great as it looked. The meat wasn't juicy enough and steak flavor wasn't strong. My friend ordered the trout. The skin was really crispy which was great but I could not taste the fishy flavor. The appetizer and dessert were just okay too....So, overall nothing spectacular.

Checked out happy hour per the TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews. M-F 4-7pm, 9pm-close. Was able to walk in about 6:30pm Thursday and get seated right away. Good variety on HH menu, okay selections, pretty presentation, friendly enough staff, but overdressed food. Overall okay experience, glad we checked it out (nice ambiance) and $1 oysters can’t be beat! Onto next Chi-town experience!

First time eating here and I tried 5 items from the happy hour small plates menu and 2 drinks from the happy hour cocktails list. Great ambiance, whether its for casual after the work outing or a romantic dinner date. The lobster rolls with paprika fries are awesome, roll was warm toasted and buttery, the lobster mix was very flavorful. Firecracker shrimp was amazingly tasty i love spice so for me, this dish was not high on the heat meter but perhaps since i like it hot, i may not be the one to take that tip from, it comes on a bed of slaw which was tasty as well. The calamari, pickle, and carrot mix was okay. I have had better calamari elsewhere but i got this for free by checking in on YELP(thanks)! Also, had the crab cakes i loved all of the fresh lumped crab meat, I personally did not enjoy the accompanying slaw (too tart)! Lastly, for food was a goat cheese bruschetta dish with a salad and balsamic vinaigrette, I shockingly ended up enjoying it! I had the pacific punch and sparkling blackberry martini and LOVED them both! Valet is a friendly fast employee parking your car on the side of the restaurant on the street for $15 for first 2hrs. Which is cool. Or you can do street metered parking. Then I went back about 3 weeks later tried one new appetizer which were the crab and corn cakes from the happy hour menu, and they were just as delicious as the above items. I noticed that the change the happy hour menu food and drinks wise up, I'm not certain how frequently though. This time I opted for street parking which for 2hrs cost me about $6.

This is why we love Chicago Resturant week! It's the only way we could afford this place. So good! And exceptional service! We had the filet, the gumbo, the lobster bisque, caesar salad, seafood platter, oysters, chocolate cake and creme brulee. The food and drinks were excellent! We already plan to go back for their happy hour deals. Highly recommended this place!

Barely any street parking, so maybe do a garage parking, take a share ride or cta for hassle free parking. Reservations are recommended and call if running behind. I ordered the crab cake entree and it was good, but it's a bit pricy. I expected greatness. The prime beef was good but glad I didn't order it. The salmon has a sweet glaze that fit very well! The chicken was okay. The salads were salads nothing special and the biscuits were good, a bit on the sweet side but good. Some of the mixed drinks were better than others, so if you have a special recipe for drink inform them. Dessert was good. I must say, I don't really see myself coming back even though the food was good..not great because at those prices it should have been great. Plus I was disappointed to see no mussels on the menu. OUR WAITER DEVIN(with the colored locs) was AMAZINGLY GREAT. He was the highlight of the night when it should of been our food. His knowledge, experience and attention to detail really showed and I hope someone congratulates him on a superior job done!

Food was very delicious! Pricey but worth it for sure! Pair your seafood with one of the many wines available on the menu! My favorite part about my meal was the scallops! Staff was very helpful when it came to suggesting what they thought were the best items on the menu! Devon was our server and he was awesome!

Was in Chciago celebrate my husbands 50th birthday from Buffalo NY. We came here for his birthday dinner. Reservations were made via open table, which I mentioned it was a birthday dinner. Let me tell you before I even get into the amazong food, that the treatment here was memorable. They had the table decorated, they even printed on the menus, Happy 50th birthday. I just thought this was amazing. The food matched the service and treatment. Do not forget to get extra buscuits and butter! I would dine here everytime I was in town! Thanks for the remarkable, memorable dinner experience. We need a Devons in Buffalo!!

A nice oyster bar right around Chicago downtown area. They are offering a full bar with a good selection of drinks. Dinner menu from starter to the entree item have a nice items to choose from. Here is one of my favorite item: Grilled Octopus, Corn and Crab Fritters, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Tartare* ( this is the must, one of the most Wagu dish I have ever had) , Cornbread(ed) Shrimp, and fresh Oysters.
