The Philly Spots Da'Vine Joy Randolph Can’t Live Without

"Their lobster bisque is serious. For a typical lunch, I would have a glass of white, a whole basket of their biscuits, and lobster bisque. And if I was extra hungry, a side caesar salad or something like that. It's just so good. It's quiet. A lot of people, I think, walk past it. It's kind of unassuming. It's not in the corner, but it kind of feels tucked a little bit—even though it's a super central location right off of the park. But yeah, it's delicious." - candis mclean

Devon Seafood Grill Review - Rittenhouse - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"If an early 2000s steakhouse and a Cheesecake Factory had a baby, it would look like Devon Seafood Grill. At the massive Rittenhouse restaurant, you’ll find co-workers in golf shirts sipping Old Fashioneds and ladies of the local canasta league sharing well-seasoned crab and lobster rolls, over-fried bang bang shrimp, and a forgettable Greek salad. It serves solid, if unremarkable seafood—ranging from standard shrimp cocktails and pan-seared salmon to sushi—and rarely has a wait. So keep it in your back pocket when Parc is standing-room-only, or when you have a seafood itch that only lobster bisque can scratch." - Alison B. Kessler

Excellent food and service. I had a very nice juicy well seasoned Ribeye steak. (Perfect for mama) Hubby had king crab fried rice, crispy rice sushi and lobster bisque. The rest of the family also had what I was told amazing dishes and cocktails. This is a really great place and the staff are very nice. The bar seemed pretty busy. Lots of people celebrating birthdays. If you are looking for a nice date spot with good food and don't mind paying a little extra you can get a really amazing meal here.

As a Pescetarian, I always look for spots that I can make my "go-to" every time I get to visit Philadelphia. Devon may not be it for me. This restaurant is somewhat overrated. There are staff members who are more helpful than others and/or friendlier. Service is way too slow. We sat at the bar for almost 20 mins (with reservation) before our table was ready and another 30 mins before a staff member was able to help us with our orders. Food came pretty quickly, though. The shrimp dumplings were good - may be too spicy for others. The Rittenhouse rolls were also good, but not as fresh. The charbroil tuna that we ordered was horrible. It tasted like it was defrosted too fast and pan seared that it was still very cold in the middle. The king crab fried rice was also very salty. Would I try again? Maybe.

Wonderful time. Price fixed Rose pairings with four course meal. They have pairings different ones every month , the last Thursday of the month. They were just rated best seafood restaurant in PA. Great music and clean bathrooms. Excellent service!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here at Devon like we have many times! The food was perfect, the view was beautiful and our waitress Allara, couldn’t be more pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and provided excellent service. Thanks for the complimentary pineapple cheesecake! So delicious

This place left me with mixed feelings. The location is very nice. The food, to be honest, was mediocre at best, falling short of any memorable flavors or dishes. However, the saving grace of this dining experience was our waiter. He was exceptionally nice and friendly, making us feel welcome and cared for throughout the meal. Their excellent service truly elevated the overall experience. One downside to note was the uncomfortable warmth in the restaurant. It seemed like they were grappling with an air conditioning problem, which made the dining area less than ideal for a comfortable meal.

Two people for lunch on the patio. First time visitors from out of town. We're picky about our seafood and we're not disappointed with the scallops or with the pan fried salmon. Both were uniquely done in excellent. The street corn paired with the scallops was unique enjoyed it very much. The lobster bisque was one of the better ones I have had, and I've had quite a few! Lastly we very much enjoyed the biscuits with maple syrup butter. I'm not sure if it was an appetizer or dessert. As for the service, I couldn't expect anything better. Ken did a fantastic job taking care of us.

Been going for years. Always an excellent experience. Great food, good portions, amazing service. Steak frites is a fave as well as the crab cakes. Everything is always delicious and tasty. I love the apple croustade.

Yelp
OMG!!! THEY CHANGED THE CARROT CAKE!! Went to Devon's last night for a great drinks, appetizers and main meal! Noticed the new menu and was curious to know if their famous carrot cake was still available. Our very helpful waiter told us they changed it! My husband's main reason to come here is because of the original carrot cake. He ordered the new version. It was not good at all! A very friendly waiter, Donte, heard about our dissatisfaction, and came over to us agreeing that he did not like the new version either. PLEASE PUT ORIGINAL CARROT CAKE BACK ON THE MENU!!!!!

Yelp
I've been craving seafood, so after some research I decided to splurge and treat myself to Devon Seafood + Steak. My son, and I decided that Devon's menu looked very enticing and there was a good variety to choose from, so we came for an early dinner. Our servers name was Donte, and he was very welcoming. After having a good chuckle about the music that the restaurant was playing, we quickly made our food selections. The menu is pretty large, so you have a lot of different options to choose from. My son and I started with the bang bang shrimp and the calamari. The portions are large, and you'll definitely want to share. The shrimp were crispy and the sauce had just enough heat, while the fresh squeezed lime took the dish up to a whole new level. The calamari was crispy and the fried peppers were a nice touch. The dish is your typical fried calamari but what makes it different is that it's topped with crumbled goat cheese(?) which I'm a fan of but, I didn't love it paired with the calamari. This dish was battling to see who would be the star, and the cheese won. We also ordered a side of parmesan fries and they were delicious. Envision large potato wedges that are arranged Jenga style resting in a parmesan cheese sauce and topped with freshly grated parmesan. I would definitely order this dish again. For our main dishes, my son ordered a caesar salad with grilled salmon, which he loved. (The salmon was perfectly cooked) And I ordered oysters bienville, which were decadent and really delicious. The only thing missing for me was a nice glass of wine, but maybe next time. Overall, our dining experience was really enjoyable. The interior is dark, and I can imagine that it's perfect for a romantic date night. And with the exception of the calamari, the meal was superb. There's a reason that Devon has been in the shadow of Rittenhouse Square for decades, simply put the service and food are top notch.

Yelp
Devon Seafood Grill is always a great experience when I need fresh seafood for dinner. Our server was very courteous and helped with the menu items suggestion items I asked about. For a Friday night the atmosphere was very relaxed ( around 8:30pm) and we sat with a great view of Rittenhouse square. Our drinks were amazing a mojito & Blackberry Martini, very good. As an appetizer Shucked Oysters & Lobster Bisque, delicious ! For entrees : My friend ordered a mixed grill option. She really enjoys the fresh non breaded crab cakes. I had the Pan Seared Salmon, perfection ...

Yelp
Recently went to devons when visiting a college in the area. When my mom and I cam across Devons we were really exicted to try it after seeing the wide range of seafood options on the menu. There is also other choices of food beside seafood. The service was great and very fast we got seated immediately. Devons is a very casual cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Devon's not being able to get into brunch at Parc. The service was great, and it was a good feel sitting near the front outside. Great for people watching and brunch on a Sunday. The food was really tasty and great. Our waiter was very friendly. We snacked on the rock shrimp, and crispy rice Tuna. We also ordered the kale salad with some grilled chicken which I was less impressed with as the portion was super small and had little to no kale. Overall though it was a great spot, good food and nice atmosphere.

Yelp
The worse seafood restaurant I have dealt with in a long time. I ordered tge lobster rolls for $28 and i got 3 small rolls with barely any filling. I got the Blackened seared scallops entre and I onky received 3 scallops in a large container with minced corn for $49. The bread pudding was super dry. To send food out like this is horrible. Treating customers this was is unacceptable. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour menu. Beautiful quiet restaurant in rittenhouse square. Great for lunch and after work. Whether solo or with company this is a great place to dine. Service is always great and welcoming!

Yelp
Devon's is still my absolute favorite place to dine. The food is always good, chicken was a bit salty but still delicious. Service is always the best, never had a complaint about the service here and it's the perfect place to sit, eat, solo, with friends, a date. Still pricey but always worth it.

Yelp
Our Server Mark and his team were very attentive, offered suggestions, welcoming and made the evening. The menu offerings were stellar and generous. The food served hot and we were never rushed. I recommend sitting in the rear of the dining area in a banquette where the seating is comfortable, away from the lively bar crowd and romantic. Great night!

Yelp
Devon seafood is normally a 10/10, but we went back for restaurant week and had a little less of the experience than we were expecting. To start the clam chowder was fantastic! This was probably my favorite part of the meal. We also got the Seafood Mixed Grill and the French Creole Orecchiette. The mixed grill was alright, I personally found the crab cake very fishy and not something I enjoyed. Everything else in the mixed grill was delicious. The Orecchiette was far superior in terms of flavor. This dish was delicious and was also a massive portion. Lastly we had crème brûlée and the chocolate velvet cake. The crème brûlée was very good, a little over cooked and firmer then I usually like but still very good. The cake on the other hand was not it, the mousse layer in the cake was not good and had a very heavy sponge texture. The chocolate covering the cake tasted very artificial and overall was not something I would ever want to eat again. Our server was Zach and this man was hustling! We walked in and were able to grab bar seating, and our server made sure we were very well taken care of and he was very attentive given the busyness of his section. The atmosphere was nice, very busy but it was a Friday night, and overall not too loud or chaotic.

Yelp
Devon's never disappoints. Whether I'm dining for happy hour or a formal meal I'm always pleased with my food. Service is always top notch. One thing that's a must order is the lobster bisque. It's one of my favorite places to get it from.

Yelp
For my wife's Birthday last week, I decided to go in town for lunch and chose Devon. Since she loves lobster rolls along with a cocktail or wine this was the only option. We had not been to Devon in years. It was our monthly hangout when I worked in town. Compared to the crowd at Parc, it was a ghost-town. Depending on the menu you view, it lists "Crab & Lobster Rolls" or "Lobster & Crab Rolls". Only after what was delivered to our table did I go on -line and see a listing for "Mini New England Lobster Rolls". It's not just the rolls that are mini, it's the lobster. Justin was a great server but neither he nor the manager could explain the absence of lobster or the missing "mini" on the menu. Would have been nice to get a cookie for the birthday girl. Luke's Lobster with a BYOB in the park would have been a better choice.

Yelp
Great place, great service! I came here to celebrate my great aunts 95th birthday, she is a pretty picky eater but I enjoyed myself. I started off with a lobster bisque and a seafood sampler with shrimp scampi, calamari, crab cakes and a trio of sauces Then for my main course I wasn't very hungry but I got the seafood tower which had shrimp cocktail, shucked oysters, king crab legs and lobster. The staff was very attentive and anything we asked for they accommodated us. I live in Kansas City and although we don't have a Devon's it was very similar to Bristol so I was familiar with the menu and am a fan of this version back home so they continued their great service and food.

Yelp
Popped into Devon Seafood for a quick lunch and it exceeded all expectations! The warm cheddar biscuit was heavenly and the crab cake sandwich was delicious. It was such a pleasant mid day meal!

Yelp
So my sister in law and husband treated my mother-in-law to Devon's during restaurant week as a part of her 65th birthday festivities. They booked a reservation for 8 (including one child and one toddler) for Saturday evening and though the establishment was busy, they were ready for us and quite accommodating. The host greeted us with a warm welcome, and though our party was not all present, they not only seated us but offered to refrigerate the cake until we were ready for it. We were served by a wonderful young woman named Darrian. She was warm, pleasant, and worked tirelessly to make sure that each one of us felt comfortable. Her demeanor and familiar personality were great, and she even engaged actively with the children. She also inquired about food allergies when helping the guest of honor make a decision on her cocktail order. The food was good. Most of our party ordered from the restaurant week menu. My husband had the Seafood Gumbo as an appetizer, which was delightful and spicy. I had a simple caesar salad. For dinner, a majority of our party (myself included) enjoyed the Seafood Mixed Grill, which included cajun seasoned shrimp and scallop, salmon, jumbo lump crab cake, whipped yukon gold potatoes and citrus garlic broccolini. We all unanimously agreed that it was a great choice. I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled shrimp and scallops, which were cooked to perfection. For dessert, I had the bread pudding, which was okay (I'm not a sweet person), others enjoyed the Apple Croustad with ice cream and the Creme Brulee, which received nothing but compliments. Then, Darrian kindly went to the kitchen between serving other tables, dressed our cake, lit the candles, and presented it to my mother. And she even joined in singing with us (see, I told you all that she was great). The ambiance was welcoming and excellent for dinner. Lighting was dim enough to set a mood, but not dark enough to be a distraction. The dinner rooms were crowded as it was dinner hour but not very loud. Overall, we would return to Devon. Thank you, Darrian, for being you and making our night so special.

Yelp
Checked in and shown to my table by Millie. Very cordial and friendly. She offered to seat me wherever I wanted, so I chose a table. Now I remember sitting at the bar a few years ago and loving it. Michelle was my waitress and so accommodating. I ordered the lump crab sandwich w cheese and a remoulade sauce on toasted bread, w shoestring fries. I could not stop eating the crispy fries. Sooooo good. Honestly and sadly, I was not impressed w the sandwich. The ambiance is great here and that sandwich will not stop me from returning at all!

Yelp
Food and drinks were amazing! We went during restaurant week, and it was definitely the best food for the price! Great selection for restaurant week, and they didn't skimp on the seafood or desserts!

Yelp
Devon Seafood Grill is really a treat in Philadelphia. I ate here for a work outing. The seafood food was so fresh and well prepared. The restaurant is very lovely and service was very nice. I wish I got picture of my food, but it was just so good that I missed my opportunity to show how great the food was. I honestly think it's worth going if you're in the area. This was my first trip, but if I come back I would hands down add this to my list of places to eat again.

Yelp
Great spot for a quick bite. Enjoyed a few appetizers with a bottle of wine. The weather was perfect so we sat outside and took it all in.

Yelp
Came here for lunch today with a big group of coworkers and we were all extremely satisfied and stuffed. I can't wait to come back here again! 3 course lunch for $25 during restaurant week and the portions are huge. I ordered the baby greens salad, which was refreshing and light. My entree was the maple glazed salmon, which deserves a 10/10. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The glaze had a nice touch of sweetness to it. Mixed with the mashed potatoes and green beans topped it off. For dessert, I ordered the mixed fresh berries which had the perfect cream and sweetness to it. Great way to end the meal! Each person received 2 house biscuits and I could not stop eating it. So addicting and that butter with it *chefs kiss. I also ordered the eastsider, which was very fresh and a nice play on a mule without all that sugar. Highly recommend this place! Great ambiance, beautiful decor and the friendliest service!

Yelp
Overall, 4.5 rating. I went during restaurant week for a girls night. Our server was attentive and friendly. She answered all of our questions and even laughed with us when we were cracking jokes. We started off with the Cesar salad, which was good but didn't really have a super fresh taste to it. The croutons were way too hard. For an entrée, we had the Seafood Mixed Grill, which I thought was very flavorful. It came with a crab cake, two pieces of shrimp, a scallop, salmon, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The salmon and crab cake were my absolute favorite. Just cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had crème brûlée and though it was tasty, it was cold. It was so disappointing because the flavor was rich. I just don't understand why it was being served cold. I would go again. The ambiance was nice and I think the mishaps we encountered were probably due to it being restaurant week. Most restaurants tend to do some pre-cooking to get through major rushes of crowds.

Yelp
I was excited to try a new place in the city, and it had good reviews, so I figured I'd give it a shot. It was, in a word, ok. Not great, not bad, just okay. So, positives: waitress was very friendly, appetizers were delicious, the mixed drinks were excellent, and the desserts were quite good. The blackberry martini was excellent! Also, goat cheese bruschetta. I don't need to describe it further, just some damn good goat cheese and bruschetta. I honestly would've liked a bit more balsamic vinegar, but it was great without. The mussels were also great - fresh, Maine mussels. Maine mussels are unique in that they're huge, not those tiny PEI mussels. Negatives: Host arguing with waitresses at the front door, entrees were only okay, bathrooms were meh. Count the first: usually not a good sign when you're welcomed by the staff arguing with each other. But whatever, count the second: the food was meh. I will say, the scallops were perfectly cooked, but they were small for bay scallops. The lobster risotto didn't seem to have any lobster and tasted like tomatoes. Fresh tomatoes, but still tomatoes. The faro was okay, as were the carrots. The pasta was good, but not very lemony. Very disappointing. For dessert, the creme brulee was on point, very good! The chocolate PB torte was also good, but can we all stop putting flaked sea salt in places it doesn't belong? This is a trend I am not here for and very much look forward to the day where we all agree desserts don't need to taste like the ocean. Overall, apps, drinks, dessert, all good. Honestly, if we ever go back, we'd just get apps because those were great. Entrees tho, only meh.

Yelp
This has been a place I've always anticipated trying, and was finally able to make it on the last night of restaurant week. For that reason and due to it being a Saturday, it was quite busy and wait times were longer than anticipated but my server Luke was amazing! He helped us with all dietary restrictions and was not only very kind but reassuring as well, making the experience not only delicious but fun as well. When you arrive you're immediately greeted by romantic lighting and great music, it felt like something in a movie. Started with the Cesar salad so good alittle peppery to add some spice but overall super tasty, next My lemon drop came and it was absolutely phenomenal, one of my favorites so far! Next we received the main course the Miso glazed Sea Bass and it was so tender and juicy, the greens and rice enhanced the entire meal! We finished with vanilla bean crème brûlée and it was okay, was not my favorite but it did have a good flavor and was quite interesting too! I would recommend and go back!! Great experience!

Yelp
Last day of restaurant week. Appreciate that the restaurant is not packed like previous restaurant week events, where every table was filled and food came out slow. This time it's just a perfect day out. Spicy gumbo. It is spicy but love it! Shrimp, sausage, long grain rice and the spice level are great. Honey glazed salmon. Salmon is cooked to a perfect temperature. Green beans can be a bit more cooked and mashed potatoes could use a bit more salt. Honey sauce is a bit too sweet for me. Not bad though. Jumbo crab melt. Lots of crab meat!!! Yummmm Crème brûlée - my favorite! Chocolate mousse cake is also good. Not too sweet. Biscuits are sooo good with the sweet butter. Chicken tenders with fries for the kiddo. Big portions. Service is just right. Will return!

Yelp
For this price point, I really think the food and service could be better. I was with a group, and most of us were not satisfied. Waiter wasn't informative and attentive. We've asked question about the menu, price of the catch, he couldn't answer us. The table I sat on was wobbling, I ask for a table stopper, there were no response/ no solution. I ended up fixing myself. If I were at a restaurant cost $20 pp averagely, I get it but not when we spent over $70 pp. Food wise, I do enjoy the fried calamari and that's it. I had the scallop and risotto, scallop was alright, risotto was sooooooo bad. Worst risotto I've ever had.... I think it's overcooked or not the right rice? like the rice were mushy. Do not order the steak as well, it's dry, chewy with no flavour.

Yelp
it's my favorite restaurant in the city. I love the service, and if you know anything about me I am a stickler for parking. I go -OUT OF MY WAY - to find parking at RIttenhouse Square just to dine here. I have not a single complaint. they have always been helpful, clean and the food is very consistent. I want to say more but i have about a half dozen checks so you can always catch me there with tips. Happy dining!

Yelp
Wonderful food. The ahi tuna salad was one of the best I've ever had. And very conveniently located adjacent to Rittenhouse Square.

Yelp
Very nice. I enjoyed the dinner. Served by Dante he is have amazing service. Sat by the window very nice interior.

Yelp
Devon's used to be great. I ate there whenever I was in town. I'm not sure what happened but the place has gone to crap! The bread was hard. The main course, Sea Food Medley, was mediocre at best. I hope this place recovers.
google avatar

Maya L.

Yelp
Wow!! I'm not a seafood fan but would certainly return to Devon Seafood Grill. First, the location is in prime real estate across from Rittenhouse Square park and the front dining room has huge doors so you can still sit inside and enjoy the lovely view. Second, the service is SUPERB!!! I felt at home! They are attentive, kind, and warm. Next, the FOOD!! YUMMM. I started with the Rittenhouse Roll which is essentially a shrimp tempura roll and it was great. Then, I got the seafood combo that came with scallops, salmon, crab cake, shrimp, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. My mind was blown. This was the LEAST fishy seafood I've ever had. Super fresh and delicious. I also has it with the house salad which was great. 10000000/10 experience even for those who are hesitant to eat seafood :)

Yelp
THEE BEST Bacon Wrapped Shrimp I have Ever had, which my Wonderful bartender Aaron J suggested. The oyster were also good, especially the cocktail mixture that accompanied them. Aaron J also made me two fantastic Spicy Blackberry Margaritas. I sat at the bar, nice music choices played softly and televisions are also nicely positioned. Great for solo visit or date night. I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Came for dinner tonight with five friends. We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu. So glad we did! I had the caesar salad to start. The filet combo for dinner (included a 4 ounce filet, your choice of shrimp or salmon, mashed potatoes and asparagus) and the crème brûlée for dessert. I also enjoyed a pineapple martini and a sidecart (I think that was the name of it). The sidecart was my fav! I am so pleased we picked this restaurant-everything was so so good: food and service!
google avatar

Yvette J.

Yelp
This place was just okay. Nothing terrible but nothing really good either. The service and food were meh, both could use improving especially for the menu prices. I'm never opposed to paying for quality but this experience left me feeling like I lost money. Drinks were cute but not great pours. We had at least 3 cocktails a piece and we might as well had juice. For starters I did really enjoy the oysters super fresh and shucked well. The Rittenhouse Roll was a nice appetizer I would order again maybe just during HH or at the bar. The entrees (and drinks) are where everything fell short. My sea scallops where cooked well but lacked flavor and the risotto tasted like a boxed cheesy rice. My friend got the Sea Bass and also felt her dish was underwhelming. Overall I would not return here for dinner. Maybe stop for HH where things are half priced or significantly discounted but not worth the $250 we dropped.

Yelp
Came here last night with a friend. The restaurant itself is very aesthetically pleasing. The food wasn't as good as it was last year, everything (gumbo, filet, mashed potatoes) was bland. I could've made it better myself for way less. Initially I took it as we both had fun but I probably won't come back. Before I went to bed I was a bit nauseous (I figured I ate a little too much). NOPE. Since 5 am I've been dealing with AWFUL food poisoning. I checked with my friend and she also has it. We both had the gumbo so that must've been what did it. I'd steer away, it's not worth the money / pain.

Janet A.

Yelp
A friend and I had dinner at Devon last night, one of our favorite downtown restaurants. We were very disappointed and do not plan on returning in the near future. When we entered the hostess was not welcoming, a first in our experience, and was not pleased when we (an older couple!) did not want to sit in the bar area. She silently redirected us to another area. Service throughout dinner was slow despite the early hour of 5:30. Our server was pleasant and frequently recommended her favorite menu selections. The menu has been changed and many of our favorite dishes are no longer available. My companion ordered the Shanghai Tuna and said it was delicious. The crab cake and scallops in the Seafood Mixed Grill were also delicious, both entrees were served hot. We really enjoyed our dessert, Blueberry Cheesecake. Please bring back the crab cake dinner, the scallop dinner and the Seafood Cioppino!!

Yelp
As the French Parc Rittenhouse was far too busy even for an outside table, I decided to get a light bite at Devon Seafood Grill next door. It was a solid choice! While enjoying the fall festival viewacross the way at Rittenhouse Park, I enjoyed some oysters. Trying to keep costs down and eat light, I nixed the lobster roll in favor of a mouth-watering, fresh Baby Greens Salad with goat cheese, pine nuts and dried cranberries and a buttery with a hint of citrus Lobster Bisque--rich and delicious. Plus an iced tea. Excellent and efficient server and buser. A fine place to dine!

Yelp
I had the opportunity to njoy wonderful company and lunch yesterday at Devon Seafood Grille in Rittenhouse Square. It was a gorgeous day to sit inside at the window people watching and viewing the beautiful fine art showcased across the street in the park. We were unaware it was Restaurant Week but was pleased to learn they offered a nice prix fixe menu. My friend ordered the salad, petite filet w/asparagus and creme brulee from that menu, everything she ordered was very good. She initially wanted to try my dessert then changed her mind because she didn't want to compromise the wonderful taste of the creme brulee lol. The Sparkling Blackberry Martini was her drink of choice to lift her taste buds. I chose the Oysters Rockefeller, which unfortunately was too salty and appeared to be lacking some of the items listed in the description. It was definitely underwhelming. I had the Crab Melt w/asparagus, both were very good. Our waiter presented me with a complimentary dessert... The chocolate cake, which was delicious. My afternoon cocktail choices were Lemon Drop to start and an Espresso Martini finale. Cheers

Yelp
Ended up here for happy hour after we weren't able to find any open seats for SIPS happy hour around Rittenhouse. So glad that their happy hour ends at 6:30. I came here before for restaurant week and their food was subpar. However their happy hour menu is better and has a wide variety. They have house rolls and their butter (mixed with maple syrup) was delicious! Dog friendly (outside seating) Happy hour: Mon-Thurs 4-6:30p

Yelp
Lovely evening out with the ladies for restaurant week. The establishment was kind enough to seat us although some of our guest ran late due to difficulty with finding parking--Please keep in mind that the restaurant will not seat you until your entire party has arrived so plan accordingly and keep the parking situation in mind especially durning rush hour on a Friday. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, both are a complete vibe in my opinion. Our server was Alexis and she gave us the BEST service I've had in a minute--Super attentive, great recommendations and conversation; highly suggest requesting her as your server when booking your reservation because she's going to give you the best experience possible. I ordered the lavender drop which was sweet and very well balanced--Loved this drink! I always order the crab cakes which were perfect as always, but Lex recommended I give the green beans a try and they were delicious I'm glad I took her suggestion on that. Overall, I've been coming here for almost 10 years now and I see Devon's Seafood has still got it. Thanks Devon's for doing your thing, we will be back soon!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious seafood from Devon's seafood grill! We went there for Mother's Day to enjoy a night out on town in Philadelphia and from the venue to the food to the quick service it was a great experience! We tried fried calamari, the house bread, both salads they offer, crab cakes, surf and turf stake and lobster, mashed potatoes and red potatoes, asparagus & green beans and of course their carrot cake & crème brûlée! It was all absolutely wonderful and our server was great with quick service. All the food was fresh and full of flavor. I highly recommend going to this place for a date night or just visiting Philly! Rittenhouse Square is absolutely gorgeous at night! Right across the street from there to go take a walk around the park!

Yelp
Visited Devon seafood grill due to the best of both worlds surf & turf special. The bread and butter that was served for the table was delicious! The entree was the perfect amount - not too little & not too much! The waiter mixed up our steaks and I did not receive the medium but it was still good! The server was awesome and I did not take him through the process of sending back my order. It was a bit rainy tonight and the restaurant was not busy. I wore jeans and sneakers and felt comfortable because the atmosphere felt very casual. I would definitely recommend Devon seafood grill as a restaurant to try when in the Philadelphia area!

Yelp
I had a nice dinner here with my family for a special occasion tonight. Parking would definitely be a problem that you would have to deal with. It wasn't easy to find a street parking around Rittenhouse square. You would have to test your luck sometimes. We usually park at the parking lot near Barnes and Nobles. I came here with my husband, my 4yo, and a 6mos old baby in her baby stroller. We were directed to a booth seat. There were 5 steps leading down to the dining room, which wasn't too convenient for family with strollers or people with wheelchairs. Although there was an elevator on the side of the stairs, but it was not offered. Not sure if it was out of order or not. But it wasn't a big issue with us. The hostess did offer to give a hand. It was when we leaving the restaurant that we carry the stroller up the short flight of stairs. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. The food was alright. This is our 3rd time dining in here. I feel like this time the food wasn't as good as the last two visits. I'm not sure if they had switched chefs. We ordered fried calamari, shrimp cocktail, 18oz prime angus bone in ribeye with lobster mac n cheese and lobster risotto, and creme brûlée as dessert. Overall, it was a nice dinner.

Yelp
Devon's Seafood Grill had me a "table side cheddar biscuit". Like WOW! The open layout with tall ceilings gives a unique flavor to the fast-paced business casual vibe. Devon did a great job of showing their Restaurant Week customers a good showcase of what they had to offer! Half of us started with the spicy gumbo and half started with the Caesar salad. The gumbo was tasty and more flavorful than spicy in our opinion. The Caesar salad was just as good as expected. Most of my table ordered the mixed seafood option- their plates were perfectly portioned and they didn't feel that one particular dish overpowered the other. I had the chicken campanelle and it was fantastic! The chicken had great flavor and was paired nicely with a fresh white wine sauce. The bar was pretty impressive and their curated cocktails were fun and worth it. I had a bacon and bourbon drink and someone else at my table had the featured martini with a prosecco float. The martini was tasty but the float was a tad underwhelming. Overall, Devon's Seafood Grill was outstanding and is on my list to try again!

Yelp
Went for my birthday and was seated by the bar which I didn't mind at first but there were a group of people sitting at the bar drinking and just being obnoxiously loud so we asked if we can be moved - waitress seemed a bit bothered but I didn't want this dinner to feel like I am at a pub watching a game. We were seated outside which was nice under the tent - ordered pineapple martinis that were delish, food was really good too.

Yelp
Friday night date night at Devon's. I like the look and feel of the restaurant. It gives me the feel of dining in an underground subway (I loved it). The food was fantastic but it definitely took a long time to receive our appetizer and our entree. We had a 7PM reservation for dinner and a 9PM restaurant for live jazz but because it took so long for our food to come out, as soon as our entrees hit the table, we asked for our desserts to come out. To avoid any delays, we received the bill with our dessert so as soon as we finished, we could pay and be out the door. My first course consisted of the spicy creole gumbo. The rice stuck together but the taste was on point; I enjoyed it. My second course was the petite filet mignon (I ordered it medium well), grilled shrimp, Yukon potatoes, and grilled asparagus. Delicious. I enjoyed my meal tremendously. I loved that the steak was so tender that I simply used my butter knife to separate the meat on my fork. I had no use for the steak knife. For dessert I enjoyed the chocolate mousse.

Yelp
The service was horrible and the manager was even worse. We saw a rat twice and it even brushed our feet underneath our table in the establishment and when we inform the manager he stated "it's just the change in season" the rat ran under our table TWICE. The food was delicious, minus my filet mignon ( surf and turf). I asked for it to be cooked medium well, internal temperature of 145 degrees please. The waiter did not come back to our table after delivering our meal to us. When she did return and I told her my steak was uncooked and completely red, she took it back to the cook. He simply burnt the outside and the internal look was the exact same color that I complained about. The manager comes over and says he will not recook or replace my steak and that he was a chef for years so he knows what my steak should be. Nothing is worse than spending over $400 in a restaurant to be treated poorly. I will not return or recommend this restaurant. It's not worth the price. It would be different if there were slammed packed m, but the restaurant was empty. This is unacceptable. Additional information: the managers name was Thomas and the chef on duty was Christopher F.

Yelp
Very disappointed that the new menu has left out our favorite things: 1) Fabulous biscuits 2) Bacon wrapped shrimp 3) Steamed little necks Server Greg was great! Setting outside across from the park was lovely, as always

Yelp
Old fashioned seafood house, food was solid, service was good- it was rather loud when we went, it was a full restaurant..I would go again for happy hour.

Yelp
Took My Mom there for Mother's Day. She really enjoyed her meal I wasn't that hungry so I had something light It was delicious also. Been to the Restaurant like 8 times over the years. Menu has changed since the last time since I've eaten there. It was before the Pandemic 2020. But all n all food was great
