We finally made our way to Dewey Beer for the first time last night to get some food and celebrate the holiday. Just about everything on our visit was excellent from the drinks, to the food, and the service.
On this visit we had:
Apple Peach Mango Marmalade
Secret Machine-Baked Alaska
Secret Machine-Blueberry, Blackberry, Raspberry
Pretzel Braids
Carmy Goat Burger-Caramelized onions, goat cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and horseradish aioli
Hot honey fried chicken sandwich-dill pickles, fermented garlic hot honey, lettuce, and red onion
After being able to try some of their beers, I knew I wanted to make a trip to try them in person. The sour marmalade was our favorite on this visit, and we snagged a 4 pack to go too. This was tart, sweet and sour. One of the better sours l've had. The fruit beers were good too and the baked Alaska tasted just like the desert. Delicious!
The sandwich and burger were great as well. I'm a sucker for caramelized onions and paired with goat cheese, this was a no brained for me to order. I'd easily order that again. The chicken sandwich paired with the hot honey is an easy win as well. The fries were cut fresh with the right amount of salt, none of that frozen stuff here. My only complaint was that they didn't have Heinz ketchup! Being from Pittsburgh, I think it's forbidden for me to use anything else.
Anyway, definitely a cool place to check out if you are in the area. Service was good, our waitress Lo was great and took care of us. The restaurant is a bit small and parking is limited, so plan accordingly. Worth it to give them a try though!
