An absolutely beautiful bar - just breathtaking decor - with well-made cocktails. Incredible soundtrack and vibes. The two male bartenders were weirdly unfriendly but the rest of the experience more than made up for them.

Found this cocktail place by accident, drinks were good, space was very attractive, didn't think the service was all that warm but the rest of the experience made up for it. Nice bar.

Came here for oysters and a martini (a favorite combination which also serves as a litmus test) and they nailed it! We stayed for a second on-menu drink, too. Stunning interior and a really kind bartender sealed the deal. I'll definitely be returning!

Diamond Lil kind of reminds me of an Elvish set in Lord of the Rings. Everything is green, earthy, wooden, and ornate. Impeccably designed. The drinks are quite good, and the oyster happy hour is nice, but let’s be honest: I’m in there to soak in the good energy and people watch Greenpointers and make up stories about their lives. 🤷‍♂️

My absolute favorite neighborhood bar! Gorgeous design (check out the loo) cool stained glass all over the bar by Friends of All (another local business). Great bartenders, drinks, and delicious oysters!

Great drinks. Great backyard. Try the espresso martini. Not listed on the menu but it’s delicious. Mother’s Milk was great. The smoked Paloma is great too. Great green wallpaper too. Very comfortable bar.

THIS is my kind of spot. This spot hits on all the notes you expect when hitting up a bar in this part of Brooklyn. Great mix of good prices, delicious bites and a rock'n wine, cocktail and beer list. A friend brought us here and I am ashamed that I wasn't the first to find this lil gem.. (athank you for that pun)! This place hits on all levels with a very welcoming vibe, a corner location with a nice outdoor space and a pretty long bar. There's a great selection of small bites on the menu that are a great compliment to the vibe. I hate when you go to one of these types of bars and they try to put too much on the menu and take forever to bring food to your table, this place is quite the opposite. Efficient and effective is how I would describe the service!

Decent happy hour here. Had the oysters which were fresh. The place itself is dark and intimate at night. The bartenders were efficient. Great place for having a drink or two and moving to the next bar.

Chill neighborhood bar that's not pretentious and has a good happy hour. Bartenders are generally pretty friendly. I liked the old fashioned but honestly all the cocktails are pretty good. Prices are reasonable for the Greenpoint area. Definitely enjoyed one or two more drinks than I originally planned!

This place makes awesome cocktails in a space that promises an intimate night out. It's decorated in a charm I can only describe as "Victorian library meets garden party". There's warm wood accents and dangling vines illuminated in soft, low light. I shared a booth with my date as we sipped on our drinks and enjoyed the evening. Space is limited so you may have to be patient before snagging a seat but in my opinion, it's worth the wait. I'm excited to return!

Such a beautiful bar. Impeccable Parisian forest fairy vibes. Good happy hour drink specials. All of that was stomped and killed by the bartender blasting an entire Killers album at full freaking blast at 4:30 pm on a Thursday afternoon so loud we had to shout to hear each other. Seriously, it chased us out of the bar. You gotta have a playlist with vibes and volume to match the decor, my man.

Decent drinks, but the bartender couldnt be bothered to take our order until my boyfriend came back from the bathroom even though I kept making eye contact and trying to communicate --felt very misogynist. Then when I asked for the check I gave him $40 for $32 in drinks and he gave me no change--I would have let him keep the change as a tip but the presumption felt icky.

Vaya con dios is one of the best drinks ever made. They also make a wicked old fashioned

I would rate Diamond Lil four and a half stars. Super neighborhood bar. They got outdoor seating out front, plenty of indoor seating, plus a handful of tables in their courtyard. Most of the seating is quite intimate as a majority of the tables seats two to four patrons. They have great restrooms which are spacious, have nice soap, and pleasant smelling candles. The have a small but varied selection of beers, wines, and spirits. I had a glass of cotes du Rhone and then high west American prairie bourbon. The bartender was very quick.

Love love looooove this bar. Good prices, in a fun part of Greenpoint, vibes are great, design of the space is beautiful, music is on point (and not too loud - you can converse with others here). Great amount of seating, indoor and out too. I just love coming here. Has a very very cool vibe. All food and drinks are great. Will be coming here more regularly.

On a dark and stormy night, I stepped into Diamond Oil's for a cocktail. Upon arrival I found plenty of cozy booths, small tables, and seats at the bar. I planted myself in a little two person booth right next to the bar, and ordered nearly everything off of the menu because I couldn't bear to choose! Everything was in the realm of bitters, and everything was delightful. Great atmosphere, kind bartenders, and solid drinks. Definitely a good date spot if you're looking for one!

Came here for a birthday in 2016 and met Yo, who was awesome that night. Since then I've moved down the street, gotten married, and covid happened yet Diamond Lil's remains the same. Drinks are fantastic from the Mother's Milk to the Paloma to the Painkiller. The decor is something out of a 1960's Mad Men cocktail bar only without the smoke and womanizing. This place also played a small part in my marriage proposal.

What a lovely spot! Diamond Lil is a charming, classy cocktail bar with well crafted drinks. I was pleased with the decor (dim lighting, tea lights, gold accents etc). The bartenders definitely take pride in their work here and it shows. Ordered: Georgetown lassi- a very tasty grown-up version of the mango lassi I love to order at Indian restaurants. This one has a touch of cardamom, coconut milk for creaminess, fresh mango purée (you can taste the difference!) along with spiced rum. At $13 I felt this was priced appropriately considering the top-tier ingredients and vibe of the bar. If I am back in the area, I will return!

The simplistic, yet detailed oriented and curated space is a handsome backdrop for a quick date night. It's non descriptive from the outside which makes stepping inside feel even more like the Narnia of bars. The wallpaper is textured and sponge painted a deep green, while the lighting dances on the treated ceiling. The bar is long and backed by a helpful bartender with a patient smile. Rather than stacks of liquor bottles behind the bartender hangs a long beautiful painting that made me reconsider my own art collection. We brought Lucas, our dog for brunch and sat in the back patio. Lucas walked around making friends as I buried my face into the delicious egg sandwich.

Really cute bar focused on specialty cocktails. It has a musky old world cigar club but updated for 2019 feel to it. Three single seater booths are the perfect place to post up for a date.

Great atmosphere and excellent cocktails. The oysters were well priced, albeit a little small. The outdoor garden in the back was cozy and romantic!

Horrible , snarky and disrespectful bartenders . Would never go back . Regret wasting time and money here when there are so many better options in Brooklyn .

Diamond Lil is an embarrassment to well adjusted, self-respecting Greenpointers. The stereotypical, contrived apathy of hypervigilant, self-conscious Brooklyn hipsterism is on such full display here it almost feels like satire. The physical space itself is charming, but for many people it will feel as if they've accidentally walked into the wrong apartment. Bring smelling salts to rouse the bartenders; I was blanked by 3 out of 3. Not even a hello. One guy eventually took our drink order bc we sat at the bar and since it was decidedly uncrowded, he couldn't possibly ignore the two of us for too long. Devoid of any affect whatsoever he glumly made our drinks. Then we were completely ignored for about an hour. Upon requesting the check, a different bartender chose to make his very first snarky words a provocation. His first acknowledgment of our presence, sitting just feet from him for an hour, was intended to challenge and belittle. It was so shocking I can't help but to think we (or one of us anyway) were being mistaken for someone he actually hated. I pretended like I didn't understand and even tipped this jerk. I'll never forgive myself for it. I love living here. I have for a long time. And I can even appreciate the expediency of an artificially aloof, too cool to show interest in anything, Greenpoint 30 something hipster. But this guy took it too far to the point of deliberate abuse. Never again Diamond Lil.

AS someone who is rarely in Greenpoint, I was very happy to stumble upon this little gem of a bar. I was out with a group of friends on a Friday night, and we anted to end the night with one more drink. We were all very happy when we arrived at Diamond Li. I would describe Diamond Li as a lush but laid back cocktail bar. Royal green wall paper, velvet booths and stools, a long bar, and gold accents, this bar is classy without being pretentious. Even though we were a group of five, we were able to snag a booth in the back. There are about 17 cocktails to choose from, along with a wine and beer list. All of there cocktails are $13 and they designed the menu so that the cocktails are categorized for easy picking. I decided to get the Captain's Grog, with three different rums, Orgeat, Curaco, Maple, Falernum, Grapefruit and Lime. It was delicious and refreshing. It helped that it was served in a tiki glass with crushed ice. I also got to try to Georgetown Lassi, with Mango puree (fresh and muddles at the bar), coconut mil, spices tum, port and cardamom. This drink was delicious and I would say dangerous since you will want to drink this one fast and have another before it even hits you.

Awesome new neighborhood cocktail bar in Greenpoint (Nassau and Diamond), my old stomping grounds! The interior has a consistent vintage green all over feel. Green wallpaper, ceiling tiles, and plush booths lining the long wall. They have a long row of bar seating as well- enough seating to accommodate the crowd, at least for now! A cool, lively crowd had formed by 7/7:30 and just continued to pick up! They have happy hour 5-8 M-F which is the next big draw. $5 rose on tap, beer and a selection of $8 cocktails- including an Old Fashion and a delicious Daiquiri which seemed the obvious choice for a hot summer evening- Served in a chilled glass and totally refreshing! Great spot for a date or drinks with friends- a standout in the immediate surrounding area so definitely check out if your in the hood

5/5 for drinks, but about a 2/5 for service. It's always awkward when you're just standing there and can't even get the bartender to make eye contact with you. Doubly awkward when the other bartender asks you to leave your credit card when your friend already paid cash covering your drink. I'd like to give the place a second chance since the cocktails are very, very good and the intimate, low-lit "throwback" atmosphere is perfect for a date or just catching up with a friend. Hopefully they were just having an off night.

First time here on a first date and it was so cute! Loved my cocktails and the bartender Brian, he was so great and fun. Will definitely be back again!

Lovely spot right in Nassau street. Bartenders were so kind and were happy to make me something funky off the menu based on my preferences, and were checking in that I was happy with the cocktail. They play 70s/80s jams, super cute vibe for a date night or small group. Looking forward to coming back!

Justin is the greatest bartender a brother can ever have. He's like brother from another mother. Truth, bar is cool, drinks are strong and bartenders have a encyclopedia knowledge of the painting behind the bar.

I've only been here early on a couple Wednesdays to kill some time, but they have a happy hour that includes a very well made $8 old fashioned. Decor is gorgeous, and the bartender is friendly. I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, but still plan on frequenting this great new addition on Nassau! Would definitely recommend as a great option for post-work drinks or a casual date night meeting spot.

The weekend brunch at this place is amazing and far better than a bar brunch deserves to be. Has blown us away three times in a row. Highly recommend the lentil and cauliflower dish.

As a father of five I have to say that I love Diamond Lil! Its' beautiful Art Deco interior and smartly crafted cocktails transport me to a time when a man could go to a bar after a long day at the office and unwind with a few drinks without having to worry about angry texts piling up from their surly wife and unruly children. A time when not remembering one of your son's middle names wasn't seen as complete lapse of parental responsibility. It's a middle name, Elijah! Middle names don't matter! No one is going to use it unless you become a serial killer, Elijah! So maybe we should focus more on curtailing your hobby of hurling rocks at squirrels in McGolrick Park and less on your Dad's memory lapses! The Espresso martinis at Diamond Lil are a delicious way to wash away the day's stresses and give you energy for the problems awaiting you at home.

I love this place. It's been our go to cocktail place in Greenpoint to start or end the night. They have an excellent happy hour menu and the decor and service is on point.

Amazing date spot cocktail bar, I highly suggest the Phoenix Down cocktail if you like bourbon and ginger. Staff is pretty good, very clean.

This is my favorite bar in New York and is one of the most beautiful bars I've ever been to. The ambiance is perfect and the drinks are probably the best I've had, rivaled only by Angel's Share in the East Village. The drinks may take some time to prepare but be patient - good things come to those who wait and they are definitely worth the wait. I forgot to mention that the drinks are *strong* so you get your money's worth.

i love dlil so much. it's the best, most gorgeous neighborhood bar a person could ask for. drinks are top notch, service is friendly but not overbearing, and they're really doing the most during covid to adjust to these strange times and make their bar accessible in any way possible to their patrons. protect dlil from covid closures at all costs!

Diamond Lil is a beautiful little cocktail bar with the yummiest cocktails on Nassau Avenue. The bar itself is lovely and the Sunday night bartender is friendly and makes a great drink. We like to go when it isn't super busy, which it sometimes is. Oh, and they play good tunes. Definitely a five star spot!

Great bar, especially for drinks in winter. I went in December when there were holiday parties which would explain why there were few patrons during the week, and I believe it was already 10-11 on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Look forward to going back to add to this review with more specifics about the cocktail menu.

Excellent cocktail bar in a part of Greenpoint that's lacking in craft cocktails. Old Fashioned at Happy Hour is great, but my personal summer favorite is the Mother's Milk, a mix of mezcal, coconut, vanilla, salt and cucumber.

Best brunch spot in Greenpoint. Everything is consistently fresh and delicious. Great cocktails. (Especially the Bloody Mary.) Family friendly. Can't recommend enough.
