Beautifully quaint and eccentric bar, probably best for very small groups and intimate parties. The bartender is awesome, quirky and personable. Music matched the vibe of the location to a theme.

Came here for a quick drink with a friend before dinner. Vibes are really cool inside with red lamps/lighting that give a Bladerunner type feel. Had two drinks which were excellent and sat outside as well which is an option!

Have really enjoyed this place in the past, vibe is still cute, but yesterday all the cocktails were truly the worst drinks I've been served in a very long time. What happened !

Nice little neighborhood spot. “Divey” for a Fort Greene spot, and by that I just mean it’s a little dirtier and less polished than most spots - a welcome difference tbh. Reliable and consistently good service and drinks. Bartenders are nice and there is ample space here.

It was an incredible experience yesterday when my wife and I finally got to go out after having our baby. We were looking for a place with great ambiance, good music, and refreshing drinks, and we got all that and more. The atmosphere was just perfect, with a warm and inviting vibe that made us feel right at home. The music was spot on, and we couldn't help but sway to the beat. The drinks were crafted to perfection, and we savored every sip. Overall, it was an unforgettable evening that we will cherish for a long time to come.

Headed in this spot for a shot. Nice and cozy, although I was in and out I would return on a later day. Customer service was cool, service was fast, didnt have to wait, was greeted once entered. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I always walk past the spot and never went in, to finally head in was satisfying.

One of the best bars in this area. I love the entire low lit sexy dive bar vibe? Drinks are delicious and a step up from your typical cocktails. Service is super warm, friendly and fun. You can tell the people that work their really like the bar and their regulars. 4.8/5

Hmmm I really wanted to love this place but things were not running efficiently and we left a little disappointed. The ambiance is fantastic and it's definitely a place that would be great to visit with a group of friends for a chill night, so I'm more than willing to give it another shot. We had a late dinner reservation nearby so I looked up some bars in the area we could visit for a drink beforehand. Dick and Jane's had great reviews and there surprisingly aren't many other bars around. Walking up, this place just exudes laid back neighborhood hangout, which I could tell it was for some people. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and on nice days the window to the indoor bar space open up so it's an open-air situation. Outdoors, we saw groups of folks playing cards, reading tarot, plenty of other things. Indoors felt a little more intimate, dim lighting, good music. The issues came with a staffing peculiarity. It seemed there was maybe one server to assist folks sitting outside, but only one bartender. He seemed perfectly at ease which means he is either a mutant or very good at hiding his stress. There was a line to order drinks and he was trying his best to work methodically but the sheer number of drinks ordered backed things up considerably. There was a couple sitting next to us and one of them remarked that the business was leaving a lot of money on the table because of their current setup and it was a fair point. When we finally got to order our drinks, the bartender said he was out of both drinks we asked for -- it was probably only 8 or 8:30 so that was surprising and disappointing. The two drinks we did end up getting were just okay -- I got the freezer martini which was so-so, mainly because there were a bunch of ice chips floating on top of the drink which is not something I'd ever like to see in my martini. My partner got more of a highball situation which was serviceable but nothing special. Again, I feel it might've been an off night while we were here, but I need to review my experience honestly.

Came here after spending the day in Fort Greene park. The bar had great music playing and the the environment felt extremely welcoming. We ordered a couple margaritas to start and were very disappointed. The balance of sweet to sour was not right. And the drinks were very bitter.

Nice cocktail bar with a ton of outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered. The menu is only cocktails at typical NYC prices ($15).

This is just a good bar. The crowd, and the staff are all friendly. The music is good. It's small, and comfortable. The cocktail list is also small, and the two I've tried off it are excellent, but the bartenders will also make you a perfect negroni, or old fashioned, or any classic you're interested in. They can also pour a very strong vodka soda, and I watched them make a gorgeous espresso martini, if you're into that sort of thing. This is the bar I wish I had a little closer to my apartment. However, I'm glad it's here, because it's the perfect spot for a pre or post dinner drink at any one of the excellent restaurants within spitting distance (Miss Ada, Evelina, Walter's, Olea, Colonia Verde, etc.). I'll be back to do just that.

This is for Dick & Jane's Bar Room, not the bar in Fort Greene. The vibe was really cool in here. It's the old Casablanca after hours spot. They did a great job with the place. Ambiance for sure. Great date spot or a place to chill out with a few friends. Drinks were great too. The only wish I had was for a wider selection of Japanese Whiskey but that's a preference of mine. Definitely going to return. I'll take pics next time too.

Dick and Jane's is one of my favorite spots. I always loved them, but they really thrived during COVID and keep putting good energy out into the Fort Greene neighborhood. While not too much room on the inside they now have a huge area devoted to patrons who are willing to be outside. While we endured the Cuomo bites they had P&J sandwiches which rocked. Now the outside is here to last and I can't wait for summer. Their cocktails are as good as anyone else's, and the beer selection is definitely above average. You can find some gems here. Then decide if you want to drink inside or outside. If having dinner on DeKalb, this is the top spot to hit up.

Had a drink at Dick And Jane's on Wednesday night. A cool atmosphere and solid cocktail list make it a great choice for drink. Quality: Stopped into Dick And Jane's for a drink at the end of the night. They have a short, but solid cocktail list, as well as a full bar. I ordered the S'what I'm Talkin Bout and the Rosey Perez. The S'what I'm Talkin Bout had tequila, grapefruit, chipotle, simple syrup, and nutmeg. A little too citrusy with the grapefruit, but still an enjoyable drink. The Rosey Perez had white rum, rose syrup, egg white, lime, and bitters. It was fantastic and I was close to ordering a second. Quantity: Excellent drinks and they had a kick. Value: $14-$17 for the different Cocktail options. Ambiance: Dick And Jane's is a cool little cocktail bar in the Fort Greene area of Brooklyn. They have a covered outdoor area that was built during COVID, but inside is where you want to be. The cozy, dimly lit bar has an awesome and friendly vibe. There are seats along the bar and window, and a few tables towards the back wall. The music was all Justin Timberlake until it switched over to all Usher. Guests were dancing and singing along, everyone in a great mood. Crowd: It is a relatively small space, so even a little crowd made it feel lively. Service: The bartender was fantastic and having a great time. I love it when the staff seems to be having as much fun as the guests. Parking: Limited street parking in the nearby area.

Stopped by Dick & Janes on a warm Sunday evening to round out the celebratory weekend following the end of the election. Dick & Janes has an exceptionally welcoming atmosphere -- they have several outdoor tables, both hugging the facade of the bar and in the enclosed street seating area. Most of the tables were full, and unfortunately we got seated next to the speaker which was playing music almost too loudly to hear our conversation. The bartenders were all dancing to the music, and overall looked like they were enjoying themselves, which made the experience that much more pleasant.  I started with the Banankakin Skywalker, which was lime, banana, cinnamon, white rum, and gold rum. I don't typically love rum drinks, and this definitely was a more summer-y choice, but given the weather I decided to go for it, and I'm glad I did. It was not overly sweet, and was well balanced with the acidic presence of the lime. It certainly was more tropical in taste, but the cinnamon notes added enough of an autumnal vibe to make it a truly perfect drink.  My second drink was the Divine Daisy, which was campari, grapes, lemon, simple syrup, gin, and soda. This was a lighter drink, and surprisingly a bit sweeter, but also had an incredible balance between the tart grapes, the acidic lemon, and the sweeter simple syrup.  Both drinks were some of the best I've had in recent history -- this is definitely an under-the-radar phenomenal cocktail spot in Fort Greene. I can't wait to come back for more drinks soon.

I've been in the industry for 20 years. Managed. Served. Bartended. Still serving in a Michelin starred restaurant. Everyone was wonderful there except for one bartender who was an absolute and complete ass. As I left. I heard him say, I couldn't fucking take it anymore. What a jerk. The appropriate response, I'm so sorry, we're closing for the evening. Thank you for coming in tonight. Fire him, ruined my night. Seriously. Jerk. Embarrassing.

Cocktails are not of the quality that I would expect for this price point. I also didn't find the bar staff that friendly or willing to engage. Ordered 2 cocktails and something caused both me and my partners stomach to be really upset about 30 minutes after leaving. We may have been unlucky but based on my experience I can't recommend. Also "the worlds best martini" is served from a flask pre-made.

Great spot with excellent service! The ONLY reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is because I've only had one drink there so far and I don't feel it's enough experience here yet to write a definitive 5 - but, I look forward to coming back here and trying more drinks so I can update that review. I forget the name of the drink I got but it was a strawberry like situation - tasty but I should have gotten a drink that was less sweet and would next time. It was refreshing though and again, great taste, but sweet for a big drink. The bartender was fabulous - a guy from Queensland, Australia who was just so so friendly. I'll definitely be back!

I've been here and this bar has survived and thrived through quarantine! Honestly very impressed. Small menu but very impressive and expensive. Something for everyone. Offer a $1 bun with cheddar, pesto or blueberry for the food item with alcohol. Cocktails are very nice and smooth but also do not short you on the alcohol. Great spot and will definitely patronize post Covid!

Cozy little cocktail bar. Romantic, even. Went on a bro-date, and was lucky enough to snag seats at the bar (the place is tiny and seating is in high demand). Had a couple of cocktails - the Russian in Kingston was a nice spicy vodka concoction. The El Camino was nice, but I just had a taste because I hate grapefruit. And the Roman King was delicious if you're into absinthe. Didn't get to try the Ginnamon, but it seemed to be a favorite. Next time! Bartenders were excellent and hilarious. Definitely stop on in if you're in the neighborhood!

Was in Brooklyn for the first time of my life with my BFF, and one thing I had never done before, that was go to a bar. Why not go to a bar in a famous city with your very best friend. Therefore I was coming back from a nail appointment emergency (spontaneously, a girls gotta have pretty nails lol, IDC if I am on vacation) my best friend picked this place, he was dying to go to a bar. We met here, and it was small, and incredibly dark. But when we got in, I loved the music, it was very laid back. We didn't sit we just stood. We shared four drinks together, each one got better than the last. I do not remember any of the names, I just remember one of them tasted like "PURE CUCUMBER" and I loved it. Next trip back to NYC I would surely stop here to get another drink, it's like you have to. And a plus out sightseeing all day, the bartender took my phone for me and charged it at the bar for over an hour so I was able to go back out and have fun. That was awesome for me.

Love this bar! Anytime I am in the neighborhood I make sure I swing by all the cocktails never disappoint! The bartender was really sweet and answered any questions we had. The Sunday happy hour is also awesome; $10 Cocktail $7 Wine $5 Beer Awesome! The Patiently Waiting Cocktail : If you like mezcal and tamarind get ready for a ride , this drink isn't extremely smoky but the combination of bitters and the sour of the tamarind with the hint of smoky flavor is hard to explain other than saying it's awesome! Be warned you can fly through them pretty quick ! The Steve McQueen Cocktail : I am a huge fan of elder flower but I do not drink gin and anyone who lets that stop them from ordering this cocktail would be a fool as I was! The pineapple, elderflower and herb syrup all come together so well that you don't taste the dryer side of the juniper from the gin, with the sprinkle of cayenne pepper it truly serves the drink so well! The smell when you tip your glass for a sip opens another gateway of flavor that gives this drink a 6 out of 5 stars! Will be back for this one! The Tijuana Twist : This was probably the least enjoyable drink for me personally but I am happy I tried it. I'm not usually a salt rim person but the seasoned salt is awesome. The chili syrup was a little too masking of the mezcal and tequila for me personally so I couldn't really wrap my head around the full flavor palette, maybe that's what it's meant to do but I would leave yourself open to trying it, the color is beautiful and it's def a step up from a margarita so cheers to trying something new but for me this cocktail was a 3 out of 5. The Castara Bay Cocktail: *Whips out sun hat and sun screen* . This cocktail was extremely extremely fun and screamed "GO ON VACATION !" I am not sure if the coconut rum is house infused or not the it smelled and tasted so fresh and light! I will say I didn't get much of the sorrel flavor but I think that is an amazing touch to have in a Brooklyn cocktail bar, the bitters also weren't recognized but overall the flavor was good. I'm not a rum drinker personally but I would so come back on a spring/summer day to have this and the garnish is beautiful!! 4 out of 5 stars for this cocktail. Again this is one of my favorite cocktail bars, I also love that they don't give you straws unless you ask #SaveTheTurtles However I do wish some of the cocktails in the coupe glasses had garnishes but 5 out of 5!! I came here to round out a bachelorette party with a handful of girlfriends. We somehow snagged the seat in the corner, which was thankfully near a huge fan. Boy, was it hot and sticky inside. And loud. This is a tiny spot. It's dark, and the bartenders seem a bit disinterested. There are two beers available, but the cocktail menu is a bit more robust. Not my scene but is definitely a happening place. Great for people watching. (Who wears leather jackets in the dead of summer?)

I love everything there is to love about this place. Its small and unassuming but the drinks pack a punch...the atmosphere is perfection and the staff are killing it. Great spot for a date. The night I was in there, not on a date, I was the only one that wasnt. Its dark and chill so I suppose it sets itself up perfectly for that. I tried 2 drinks. The spicy cucumber vodka number was the one I would go back for. It was refreshing and tasty. Check the drink board on the wall and give it a whirl. Really tasty.

So I've been here pre-COVID in the winter and it's super cozy and small inside. I recall the drinks being a bit better then, too. This time around, fun outdoor sitting. The cocktails (sorta pricey) in the plastic cups are obviously less charming. The drinks were good but not great, and for the price point and plastic cups, I was a bit underwhelmed. But a very solid neighborhood jaunt.

I'm primarily a wine and cocktail person so I'm a little picky about my bars. I want a real, nicely crafted cocktail (not a mixed drink, a cocktail) in a place that doesn't smell like stale beer, despair, and sweat. I also like a small place that encourages intimate conversation as I'm usually catching up with a friend or two and would like to actually hear them. Some interested and well-curated background tunes are nice, too. Basically Dick and Jane's checks off all the boxes. Tasty cocktails made by nice bartenders, good vibes, eclectic crowd and it's just hidden enough that the bro/d-bag contingent tends to stay away.

Overall, I enjoyed my time here but didn't love the drinks. The space itself is small with a good crowd (we were there on a Sunday night of a 3 day weekend). Music was great and it's a fun atmosphere. My husband ordered the martino, which was tasty, but not enough to want a second. I ordered the golden owl - which was really mediocre. I love most bourbon/rye/whiskey drinks, but this one tasted diluted with soda water. It was better after squeezing lemon into it, but not what I was expecting or hoping for... would recommend this place, just not this drink in particular.

I'm not sure of the vibes before COVID, but currently it is an "order at the bar, sit anywhere". It was nice to be able to have a drink with a friend and hang out outside. I ordered their Gingerbread cocktail. It was pretty good and reminded me of Christmas.It wasn't super strong, but it was tasty. I'll definitely will be back.

Seriously love this spot! They have fantastic seasonal/daily cocktails and make all the classics. I love to come on Tuesdays and Fridays when Tara is working-fantastic mixologist and person : ) Serious neighborhood gem I probably shouldn't be telling people about but whatever-you guys seem cool.

Discovered this bar during covid and it's been a great find. A large selection of outdoor seating and the drinks are always consistent. I'm a big fan of the Honey I do- it's super light and refreshing.

Great cocktails at great prices in a very cute setting. I came here on a date that didn't go as planned but I enjoyed my cocktails none the less. The decor is very minimal and romantic. The space is extremely intimate with maybe 20 seats total including the bar and some surrounding standing room. I ordered something similar to a mint julep and it was very tasty! They do not serve food but there is a lot of great food around so if you get hungry feel free to explore the area. The bartender working last night was so friendly and so nice I really enjoyed his presents and he made everything better :)

As I do know it is a tough time for the food and beverage industry during covid. I feel like it is only appropriate for me to voice my concern for the bar staff as well as the patrons. I was at the bar yesterday having a drink but I did notice that the bartender and the counter person was not correctly wearing a mask or face covering throughout the night. The counter person who took customers didn't properly cover his face ( mouth and nose) with the bandana. Which concerned me as it is a health hazard to the customers and himself. I would hope that the business owner would be more strict about proper precautions due to covid and hopefully manage the staff to be more careful. As I do enjoy coming to dick and Jane's for drinks I just hope next time it'll be under more safe conditions

Best cocktail bar in the neighborhood and the outdoor seating situation is large. One of the places benefiting from the outdoor COVID times for sure.

Oh, the good ol' days. Per my previous review (the first!), this place used to be awesome. I never had a bad experience here in my year and a half living in Fort Greene. I am in town for the weekend and I'm hitting up my very favorite spots. When I arrived it was quite crowded as one would expect at 9pm on a Saturday. I took a look at the menu and it's much shorter than it used to be. It used to be 4+ pages divided up by different types of liquor. Now it's just one. Nothing really stood out to be so I decided to ask the bartender for something off menu. I was acknowledged quickly and began to explain that 5 years ago I used to get a cocktail with bourbon, lemon, and a cherry liquor... and it was clear that the bartender was not interested in hearing any more. With a smile on his face, he asked if there was anything on the menu that I wanted. I told him there was not. And so I left. I guess nothing good lasts forever. Pour one out for the good ol days at Dick and Jane's!

Atmosphere: tiny and intimate! Very narrow walkway with some seats along the windows and a few couch seating areas towards the back of the bar. Bartenders very attentive despite it being busy on a Sunday evening. However- LOUD MUSIC. Couldn't hear anything my friend was saying so we had to leave after our first round. Drinks: crafty. We went off the menu and had Old Fashioneds based on a Yelp review reco and they crushed it. Cocktails will set you back $13 of you don't get the happy hour which they offer both weekdays and weekends. $8 happy hour cocktails if you make it in time. Weekends is 5-7PM.

RE:Adelphi St. D & J - July 6, 2021 - I like and appreciate Adelpho D & J and I'm a neighborhood, every evening regular customer. I've gotten my sunset drink while walking my dog every night D & J were open...that's almost every night since March 2020 at $10/.drink and I always tip. Tonight I forgot my wallet and went to pay for my drink with my phone, which I thougtht D & J accepted from me in the past. I offered to bring the $10.00 cash by tomorrow, instead I was told, "Ok for tonight, but now you know." I am offended by the lecture, and you should worry about your "face" in the neighborhood, as you have 2 businesses here. I may come back to D & J Adelphi again, but strictly as a last resort. Our neighbors do not act like thils. Please bring your gratitude every day.

This a nice small little local bar. It was cozy and warm. The bartender was friendly. The environment was very chill. I was walking by the place and didn't see any signs. Yet, the outside lighting is what attracted me.

Intimate ambiance and well made drinks. The happy hour is until 7pm on weekdays and drinks are prices at $8 from $13. The bartender was very personable and skilled. The bar was pretty easy to miss and a little smaller than I'm used to but the cocktail menu made it worth the trip.

Excellent spot. Was there on a Sunday afternoon, the windows were open, the wind was blowing, and the music was pumping. Loved having a DJ there curating the excellent music. We were able to snag a great table in the corner. The vibe was very chill and the cocktails were excellent. My tiki for nikki was one of those lethal drinks that doesn't taste like alcohol, but gets you where you need to be, before you even realized you left the station. Excellent time. Inventive cocktails.

Umm... Dick and Jane's... I had to come back and update/review/praise again. First, last night I had something from your menu (forget the name?) made with Tequila, Mezcal, Vanilla liqueur, Hibiscus Chili syrup, Smoked salt, and an Orange twist. It was fucking amazing!!! One of my favorite cocktails I'VE EVER had the pleasure to partake. Smokey and salty and spicy and... just everything. Second, Christine (sp?) is a fucking rockstar. She continually executes, delivers and makes those of us on the other side feel so welcomed and invited... like home. Anyway, thank you Dick and Jane's for your perfect little everything. It's always a pleasure.

This is my Fort Greene secret (not anymore). This is a tiny bar in a carriage house with no sign, no food, and amazing cocktails. They change the cocktail menu seasonally with homemade syrups and infusions. My favorite is the Pepino el Camino. Smoky, spicey, delicious! I love everything mescal. It is a little loud if you are meeting someone new -- but you cannot beat the happy hour! 5-8M-Thurs, 5-7 Fri-Sat

I ended up here on a hot night in August and ordered two drinks -- one for myself and one for the boy who I sucked face with in a dimly lit corner for a good hour or so. Kudos to this place for serving (fairly pricey) cocktails that allowed us to make out in pure, alcohol-soaked bliss. This place will always be a special memory for me. I would love to come back here one day, and revisit the cocktail menu, in all seriousness. I appreciate a well-made drink like the ones here.

Cozy bar, its tiny. So most likely will get full, few times I have been there only one bartender working expect a short wait but if you are in with no rush worth its great service! Would recommend going only early or late weekday evenings.

Cute little place. We got here after dinner next to it, and we were happy to find a cute place with a cute bartender that makes great cocktails. The place is not big, and you can seat by the bar, by the window that face the street (Which is actually kind of cool) and have cocktails where the music is not too loud, and the feeling is what a great place place to have drinks on one of the last summer nights in Brooklyn. I love discovering new places by accident, and this one is a very nice surprise.

5 stars for the perfectly hand crafted drinks; 10 stars for the bartenders (especially Tara!). We popped in here after dinner nearby on a Saturday night and will absolutely be back. The prices weren't extreme, especially considering that the bartenders put a little love in each cocktail they masterfully shake/stir/concoct. I had the tequila/mescal drink on the menu first then had the bartender surprise me with another mezcal drink. Both were delish!! Beau had bourbon (Bulleit then Larceny) and we got a round of mezcal shots. And the bill was around....$60. Not bad at all. Music was great and so was the vibe. Def worth stopping in!

I saw positive reviews on Yelp and Google when looking for a speakeasy while traveling for business in Brooklyn. Although the speakeasy technicality is gone (due to the open advertisement of "Bar" on the street) the feeling remains and is a very joyous experience for those not looking for a night out at the club. Cedric guided me through some on and off menu drinks, and showed great hospitality in local recommendations for dinner and general friendliness where I felt welcome as a solo drinker. The drinks were well crafted and appeared well balanced based on what the menu reflected. Cedric was accommodating and took some time for thought before offering a beverage he thought would suit my desires (and he was right). Fantastic bar and fantastic staff.

dick and janes is a great local spot. It has a fun ambiance, a real neighborhood feel and the drinks are great. Sometimes they have live music and dancing. Highly recommend!

This place serves some of the best cocktails I've ever tasted, and this is coming from a total drink-snob. The owner and staff are super friendly as well. I met them once during the day as they were prepping all their mixers from scratch using fresh ingredients. The space is a bit tight, but so far, the ratio of customers to square footage has been just right. I hope these guys stay around, because they really bring something special to the neighborhood. P.s. I noticed someone else mentioned this as well, but the music was just a bit too loud. A space so cozy and intimate doesn't need to crank the volume so hard. Still, they get 5 stars

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Cozy bar with a cool vibe. More important, the bartender took the time to show us how she was making our drinks (it was a slower Tuesday evening). Truly an art form. Drinks are phenomenal and service is just as good.
