The 18 Best Restaurants In Westwood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Believe it or not, the ice cream cookie sandwich was not created by a Santa Monica-based influencer in 2012. We don’t know the exact origin story, but Diddy Riese’s 30+ years of business proves our favorite dessert sandwiches existed long before everyone started taking selfies with them. Diddy Riese is a Westwood classic and the first stop for anyone in the area. The lines are treacherous, but stick with it. Because the reward is an ice cream/cookie mix-and-match showdown of your dreams. (Don’t miss the brownies either)." - nikko duren, brant cox

Google
This place is cool. They bake all of their cookies in house. The cookies are bomb, but the ice cream is nothing to write home about. It’s dryers ice cream. I think if this establishment charged a higher premium and sourced locally made ice cream more people would come. There is some bar style seating inside and one bench outside. Go here for cookies, not ice cream. The staff is very friendly

Google
They have cookies and a few ice cream flavours. It is nice overall.

Google
The cookies are so good, fresh, and price is reasonable. I run over there on a break time even if the line is long. They're gonna move it fast. The staff is extremely helpful, and the owner may be there as well working and greeting you, which I did like to see he very pleasant no complaints.

Google
Came across this place while taking a stroll around Westwood and wow!!! This place was great! I had a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich! Ice cream was tasty and the cookies were nice and fresh. Big sandwich and the prices were very reasonable!! Took some white chocolate chip macadamia cookies to go and they were equally delicious! Will definitely return one day!

Google
Iconic Westwood ice cream place that is packed with UCLA students and people from all over LA! We have been coming here multiple times, but tonight we were even greeted by a limousine bus full of high schoolers from Pennsylvania!!! The menu is extensive, but honestly you cannot go wrong with any of the ice cream or cookie choice. For cookies, We had peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin with walnuts (my favorite). For ice cream, we tried almond pistachios and mint chocolate. To be honest, the almond pistachios has a slightly too strong almond flavor and I cannot taste the pistachios. Probably will try another flavor next time. Overall, this place is delicious, extremely affordable (ask staff for the day old cookies) and always packed. They have 5 chairs at the door for seating but that’s it. It’s not a sit down restaurant.

Google
Absolutely love this place. Can you believe that you can get a dozen of tasty cookies for $5.30 nowadays? No wonder there is always a long line here. This place has been here since the 80’s. It’s not only popular with the students at UCLA but with the people all over LA who would drive more than an hour to get here for the cookies and ice cream. Although my daughter is a Trojan, she was still willing to come with us to get the cookies and ice cream with her mom to celebrate her birthday. We bought a few dozens of cookies for ourselves and to give to friends. Our favorites are the candy and white chocolate cookies. The cookies are very good to go with ice creams. we ended up with a few cups of ice creams with white chocolate chip cookies. They were so decadent and delicious. Besides the cookies, their brownies are very good too. For $1 each, it’s a steal for a good brown. I bought half a dozen to take home. Parking is easy for this place. There is a paid public parking lot right next to the shop.

Extremely delicious ice sandwiches with amazing cookies and brownies. Workers are fast and friendly, there is always line here but it goes fast. There are 5 chairs outside so you can sit and enjoy your lovely desert dessert By the way, here you can’t pay by a card if your order is less than $5 so be ready to pay by cash

Google
Diddy Riese is an absolute must if you’re anywhere near UCLA! Their cookies (especially the classic chocolate chip) are legendary. Warm, chewy, and perfectly sweet, they hit every nostalgic note you could ask for in a cookie. For UCLA students, grabbing a bag of Diddy Riese cookies is practically a rite of passage. Whether you’re a freshman or an alum coming back to visit, the tradition holds strong. And for everyone else, do yourself a favor and stop by. The prices are unbeatable, the cookies are unforgettable, and the whole experience is a little slice of Westwood magic.

Yelp
Been coming here for 24 years and have been brining my daughter for 15! Love coming here any time to feel really spoiled and nostalgic with a great cookie ice cream sandwich. You can customize your order so each time is like the first!

Yelp
I haven't been back to Diddy Riese since 2019, so when my friends and I were recently in the area craving dessert, we decided to swing by. I've been coming here for 10+ years, and would go out of my way for their ice cream sandwiches even before I moved to LA. Everything remains the same - in a good way - except their prices. Their cookies and brownies are still delicious, and service is quick and efficient. I usually opt for an ice cream sandwich, but decided to do a sundae instead - can't go wrong with either option. This place is definitely an LA staple and their long lines is a reflection of how great this establishment is, even after many years.

Yelp
Used to visit Diddy Riese long back and had not been here for nearly 4 yrs. Service was quick and lines moved fast. The ambiance was loud as can be with kids and adults alike. We experienced people forcing their way out of the ordering line when there was a clear 2nd exit line....without any consideration, so beware of a little chaos. Noticed that prices have increased a bit and the taste is just not what it used to be. My butter pecan ice cream felt grainy and old. The cookies were also not as flavorful either. Am i going nuts or are others also experiencing the same? Don't mind paying the price at all it the taste is consistent but something just doesn't add up. Giving it 3 stars only because my toddler's vanilla bean ice cream was pretty smooth, creamy and tasty so logically i found myself digging into his stash more than into my cookie......Bummer!

Yelp
Went to visit a buddy of mine in Los Angeles, and after a good dinner, we stopped off at Diddy Riese for some cookie ice cream sandwiches. We've been coming here over the years and it is always a great treat. I think sometime I just enjoy getting their day ol' cookies in a bag too. Always a great selection of cookies and ice cream. So if you are in the area try them out. Enjoy!!!

Yelp
It's been so long since my husband and I have come here! We didn't know they take cards now and not just cash only like before. We asked when they started to implement that and they said 3 years ago lol Love that the prices are still low, I remember when they were 50 cents a cookie! We love coming here for a nice sweet treat after eating dinner. The staff were friendly as well and the line moves fast.

Yelp
Admittedly I have a lot of nostalgia for Diddy Riese, but you really can't go wrong with $5 ice cream sandwiches. Brought a dozen to a party recently and was the MVP who spent less than $10. The servers are quick, the menu is straightforward, and no matter how long the line is you'll never regret it.

Yelp
4++ It's all about the cookies and ice cream here. If you're looking for a really reasonable priced dessert or treat this is the place. It's located in Westwood Village close to UCLA. I've been coming here since visiting my friends who went to school in the area. Personally, I think it's a great place with delicious ice cream and cookies, but I won't have that level nostalgia as say someone who went to UCLA does. There seems to always be a line due to its popularity and it's favorable pricing. The folks working here always efficient and friendly. I admire them because they're probably busy all day every day. The place almost has a small town vibe to it and that it kind of feels old-school when you walk through the doors. Parking could get tricky, but if you're already in the area, this is a great place to stop for dessert. Just like how I did on my last visit to the Westwood Village for an event that was held close by.

Yelp
Diddy Riese Cookies was established in 1983. They have been serving delicious cookies, brownies and ice cream. It wasn't until 1995 where they started being known throughout LA for their custom ice cream sandwiches made with their cookies. You can choose one of their 10 freshly bake cookies and 12 flavors of ice cream to make your ice cream sandwich. They are a popular among UCLA students, tourists and LA residents alike. What we ordered: -Hawaiian Shaved Ice (Watermelon, Strawberry and Watermelon) $4 -Chocolate Chip Cookies with Butter Pecan Ice Cream Sandwich $5 -Chocolate White Chocolate with Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Sandwich $5 The price of one cookie is $.75. Three for $2.25. Half Dozen for $4.50 and Diddy Dozen costs $8. Here are the prices for Ice Cream including the Ice Cream Sandwich Ice cream sandwich 5.001 scoop 4.002 scoops 5.003 scoops 6.00 Here's the options for cookies: Candy Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Walnut, Chocolate White Chocolate, Double Chocolate, Oatmeal Raisin Walnut, Peanut Butter, Sugar Cinnamon, White Chocolate, White Chocolate Macadamia. Here's the Ice Cream Flavors: Butter Pecan, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Cookies & Cream, Strawberry Cheesecake, Pistachio Almond, Mint Chocolate Chip, Rocky Road, Strawberry, Mocha Almond Fudge, Vanilla Bean Here's the flavors for Shaved Ice: Blue Raspberry, Bubble Gum, Cherry, Coconut, Grape, Lemon-Lime, Lime, Mango, Orange, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, Red Raspberry, Strawberry, Tamarindo, Watermelon I asked for the most popular cookie and was told by the staff that it was indeed chocolate chip. I ordered a chocolate chip butter pecan ice cream sandwich. It was very tasty. My wife ordered a chocolate white chocolate cookie with a strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It was also very good. I preferred my chocolate chip with butter pecan ice cream. Our son ordered a Hawaiian Shave Ice with strawberry, watermelon and orange flavors. The shaved ice was very good. Everything we ordered were delicious. We will definitely be back. They are closed on Mondays. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Yelp
Diddy Riese is a must-visit for any LA foodie! Their white chocolate chip cookies are simply the best. Soft and chewy, they're the perfect balance of sweetness. I love that they're still reasonably priced ($1.25 each), making it easy to indulge without breaking the bank. I also tried their ice cream sandwiches, which were equally delicious. The cookies are fresh and the ice cream is creamy. It's the perfect treat for a hot day.

Yelp
My sister and her family are huge Diddy Riese fans but they live in Arizona now. My sister came out for a quick visit and of course there we go, driving to Westwood, and it was meant to be because we found parking right in front of the store! These cookies are definitely worth the drive and worth the wait.

Yelp
Great little spot in Westwood Village and a staple for UCLA students! Inexpensive spot for dessert or a quick treat when out and about in Westwood. Lines can get long depending on the day, but they generally move pretty quickly. With a variety of flavors both for cookies and ice cream, you can mix and match to your heart's content. No matter what you choose, you can't go wrong!

Yelp
Came here the other night after dinner. I hehehe when this opened long ago and the lines were down the street. Well, at 10pm on a Sunday night, the line is still out the door and heading down the street. So not much changes with Diddy. DR is a super affordable ice cream spot that became known for their hand made ice cream cookie sandwiches. They have other ice cream and mom ice cream options, like ice cream sundaes, scoops of ice cream and cookies, but, if you've never been, the sandwich is the way to go. The cookies are baked in house (I believe) and the ice cream, which is not made in house (they use Dreyers ice cream) still pairs well. You can choose two of what cookies you want and whatever ice cream you want for a total of $4.50. And they put a generous amount of ice cream between those cookies, so expect a sugar rush when it is all said and done. Nice ice cream spot next to UCLA if you're in the area and are willing to stand in the line. Definitely give it a try!

Yelp
Diddy Riese is an absolute must-visit and a timeless location that everyone should experience at least once. Located in Westwood near UCLA, this spot always has a line, which just speaks to its enduring popularity and the delicious treats that await you. Over the years, prices have crept up a bit, with cookies now at 75 cents each and cookie sandwiches at $4.50. Despite this, it's still an incredible deal for the quality and nostalgia you get in every bite. They also offer day-old cookies by the dozen for just $3.50, which is an unbeatable bargain at half off. Just be sure to bring a little extra cash or plan to spend at least $5 if you're using a credit card, as that's their minimum. All in all, Diddy Riese remains a must-visit spot in LA, especially for those who want a taste of nostalgic, homemade goodness.
google avatar

Joy A.

Yelp
I can't believe I am old enough to remember the ice cream cookie sandwiches being $1.50. For $5, it is still a relatively inexpensive fun snack while stomping around Westwood. The joy of nostalgia may have contributed to the rating as the ice cream cookie is a few points above being okay but the service is top notch, efficient and they are friendly. It's definitely a landmark in many of our hearts. Line moves quickly. No room or space to eat inside. Grab a snack while strolling in Westwood village.
google avatar

Susie D.

Yelp
Fake, fake, and fake. That's what each element tasted like. The ice cream tasted nothing like pistachio, it was all almond with a goopy, artificial consistency. The cookies are old, pumped up with extra sugar, and again, artificial. Couldn't eat it. What a waste of money and now I have a bad taste in my mouth.
google avatar

Ana M.

Yelp
Somehow these cookies are different from what I remembered 17 years ago when I was a college student ordering an ice cream sandwich. They seem...smaller now? Maybe I shouldn't complain, because they were only 75 cents each and still soft; they tasted wonderful on a cold December night. Mad respect for how quick they were to get our order processed! The man who packaged the cookies plastered them hella tightly though. My dad had a lot of trouble getting out the cookie he wanted, so we had to break open the bag. I would recommend getting separate bags for separate people, if you're able to remember to ask in time.
google avatar

Kalani S.

Yelp
This is a place to visit if you are either attending UCLA or visiting LA. The store is located right outside of the campus. To me the cookies are a little to sweet. But it may satisfy others sugar cravings. Go try it and let me know if you love it. Go foodie
google avatar

Yelp
I studied at UCLA and never found time to try this place out. My gf and I happened to be in Santa Monica and finally had an opportunity. I got the ice cream sandwich with cinnamon sugar cookies and vanilla ice cream. This was my first non market made ice cream sandwich and it exceeded my expectations. The combination of the cinnamon cookies and ice cream was incredible. The ice cream made the cookies taste not as overly sweet. The hot cookie and cold ice cream combination was perfect for the 65ish degree weather. Overall, I'm sad that I didn't try this place earlier. My gf also really enjoyed her ice cream sandwich too. Side note: There is parking right next to the shop. There's no need to pay at night since its unmanaged.

Yelp
The Westwood Village area is seriously so lucky to have this gem around Diddy Riese has been serving some of the BEST cookies since 1983. Their cookies are baked fresh from scratch, all day, everyday! And when you visit, you have to get one of their famous ice cream sandwiches Fun fact: Diddy Riese is the name of the founder's grandmother Everything we ordered --Ice Cream Sandwich w/ White Chocolate Macadamia and Cookies & Cream --Ice Cream Sandwich w/ Candy Chocolate Chip and Mocha Almond Fudge
google avatar

Paulette C.

Yelp
I make this a must visit every time I am in the area. I often get at least 1 dozen to take home for my family and friends. I freeze the leftovers so I can enjoy an occasional treat until my next visit. Be sure to take cash unless you plan spending more than $5 to use a credit card.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 This seemed to be the most famous spot in the Westwood area and the place to take out-of-town guests back when I was a student, but apart from the impressively low prices, I was never quite sure why. I recall that the cookie ice cream sandwiches were the most popular, but they were just scoops of Dreyer's-like ice cream squeezed between two overly-sweet cookies. It's worth checking out once or twice, but I prefer Saffron & Rose, an insanely good Persian ice cream place in the area.
google avatar

Alma M.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over 10 years and it never fails to amaze me how delicious and flavorful the fresh cookies are and the ice cream. If you're a foodie, this is the place for sure! Staff is always friendly and willing to make recommendations. It can get a little tight inside the esta lishment but that's normal due to the location. There's a nearby parking lot that offers 2 hours free parking if you can't find street parking. Westwood is always among and this is such a nice little gem when it comes to indulging in a sweet ice cream sandwich or a sundae.

Renee R.

Yelp
Cookies are good service is not. I have traveled quite a distance to get these cookies which are favorites for my UCLA friends. The store hours vary without notice . A few ago the store was closed due to emergency. This morning , I checked the website to verify the hours and again when I arrive the guy says - we are closed! When I mentioned the website hours, he says " check the door! We open at noon!" Where is the courtesy and consistency? Are you going out of business ?!
google avatar

Dezmond B.

Yelp
Diddy Reese is a gem! Truly a sweet tooth person on a budget paradise. I got 3 cookies and this brownie sundae for $7. How can you beat that!? Ice cream is very rich and creamy while the brownie is moist and fudge filled. The cookies remain soft all day so you can buy and eat or buy and wait if you choose. The staff is friendly and fast with service. You have to eat on the go because there is no sitting but it's all good the main focus of this place is the treat.
google avatar

Gloria W.

Yelp
Line is always out the door, but they're very quick to move it! The ice cream is so so good and very well priced. The cookies aren't as sweet (which I personally prefer), and again are incredibly cheap. Worth the hype!
google avatar

Royal P.

Yelp
Fresh baked cookies! Probably the only cookies that can make Dreyer's ice cream taste good (if you get the ice cream sandwich). Every cookie flavor is a hit and perfectly baked - not too soft or hard, perfectly uniform. They also sell day old cookies at a discount, and to be honest, sometimes I preferred them. There's always a line out the door. Prices have been inching up every year since we first went here.
google avatar

Jasmine A.

Yelp
Stopped by on 11/30/23. It's been a really long time since I stopped by this place - a huge staple piece located in the heart of Westwood Village. While I was an undergrad student at UCLA (2014-2018), prices were way lower and affordable; I remembered the ice cream sandwiches being $1.50 and now it's $4.50. It's still affordable in my opinion. We got 1 ice cream sandwich and added the espresso chip ice cream + white chocolate chip + regular chocolate chip. We also purchased 2 dozen, 1-day old cookies ($3.50 each, so cheap!) Overall if you are around the area then this is a MUST, GO-TO place!
google avatar

Yelp
Every now and then it's important to pay homage to the grandpappy of all the fresh cookie and ice cream sandwich places, Diddy Riese! This place has been relatively famous for just about as long as I can remember. After all, who can resist delicious ice cream nestled between two freshly baked cookies? Prices have gone up in recent years, so it's not the amazing bargain it once was, but it is still great for a tasty treat, pretty much any time. It is in the heart of Westwood near UCLA, so parking can be difficult to find unless you're willing to pay in the public lot next door. And don't try to park on the sly, they've got active patrols and tow trucks waiting! Service is efficient and the line will move quickly even if it's busy. They have no frills glass cases with cookies on display as well as the ice cream. There's also a menu board that shows everything they have so you can make your decision well before it's your turn.
google avatar

Gracela B.

Yelp
Best stop for dessert in Westwood! Ice cream sandwiches for $4.50 your choice of two cookies and scoop of ice cream. $7.50 for a dozen cookies or $3.50 for a dozen day old cookies. I ordered fresh cookies for the ice cream sandwiches and ordered day old (was curious how they would taste). Verdict: no difference only downside is you get what they have pre-packed. Bottom line, you can't beat these prices in 2024. It is so nice to see this iconic spot 41 years and counting when other places are closing. Our favorite stop and now we have introduced it to our kids.

Yelp
I've been coming to this sweet shop years! Perhaps from the start of this establishment in the 80s. At that time cookies were only 25 cents not 85 cents a piece! And ice cream sandwiches were gigantic and had to be shared by two people! The price was not 4.50 for a sandwich but I can't recall what the price was...maybe like a 1.50. Like every place, prices have gone up! With that said, food needs to be just as good or better! As for a seating. Only a bar to stand and eat. Three seats on each side of the door to sit on. Not ideal for eating cookie sandwiches, but shop too small to accommodate more. So how were my cookies? Well, I got there when open! 6 in line at noon! The cases were filled with cookies and the employees were busy making more! I would say my cookies were only ok. They use to be softer.... Today's cookies were dry and crumbled. Almost like day old cookies, although I believe they were made today. Day old cookies are sold half off. Based on my experience today with price and quality, I would visit again if in the are, but would not go out of my way!

Yelp
What can I say about one of my favorite places to get a sweet treat since my college days. The cookies taste as great as always with can't beat prices! My favorite is their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and their ice cream sandwiches. A must go place when you're near UCLA!

Linda R.

Yelp
I've been buying excellent cookies since Diddy Riese opened in 1983! I'd run over after work, grab a dozen, and head home. If traffic was terrible (which it usually was) I'd have a cookie or 2 on my way home to the Valley - I didn't want to starve! Diddy was my go-to spot to buy cookies for my kids' teams, parties at work, and for "just because". A true touchstone!
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
Very populat cookie place near UCLA. The cookies are really good and honestly, where esle csn you get a cookie for .75 cents? The service was super friendly and the line moved really fast. As for the cookies themselves, they are very good. Think Mrs. Fields, but better. Also, the brownies are great! Well worth visiting and highly recommended.
google avatar

Zan L.

Yelp
The cookies and the shaved ice are very good. However, I am not a fan of Dreyers ice cream and since they don't make their own in-house, I had to knock off a point for that being it's one of their main items. With places like Salt & Straw around making their own ice cream those large frozen brands just don't taste nearly as good. The cookies are small but very tasty. They have a lot of classic options and more traditional flavors. I really enjoyed the Shaved Ice and I like how they have a lot of flavors to choose from, Cherry is my favorite. It's located right in Westwood Village so parking isn't too bad depending on the time of day. Pricing is fair and service is quick. I definitely would recommend and I plan to be back in the future for more cookies.

Yelp
Diddy Riese is my boyfriend's favorite cookie shop and he brought me here after dinner while we were already in the area one evening. I'm low key jealous of their cookies. I better work on my baking game or I'm going to have to drive all the way out to this area to get him these cookies. We shared an Ice Cream Sandwich ($4.50) which comes with any 2 cookies and any 1 ice cream. For the cookies we had a white chocolate macadamia nut and a chocolate chip and for the ice cream we opted for the pistachio almonds. The cookies here are fantasticccccccc. They are baked fresh with the perfect texture. Toasty on the outside but soft on the inside. The cookies are definitely where this business specializes in. The ice cream is just a nice touch to have. Most of the flavors were labelled as dryers ice cream, so no frills, nothing too special. I found pricing for the products to be incredibly reasonable despite inflation and compared to other similar businesses. Definitely a quality product and very "present" worthy. Will definitely come back when we're in the area!

The cookies and ice cream sandwiches are the best! i try to stop by whenever i am in the area. however, i moved overseas a few years ago so have only been back once a year or so. i went this past Sunday night and a slightly older woman took my order for a dozen cookies, a dozen day old cookies, ice cream sandwich, and a shave ice. total was $18.50. when she handed me the paper slip there was a tip line. perhaps I've been out of the country for too long but i didn't tip people at my local mrs. fields, krispy kreme, etc. when i lived in the US and just didn't tip people who put things into a container for me so i just put a line in the tip line and didn't tip. the woman who took my order glared at me and said in an angry voice "i am never serving you again"... if it were just the cookies, it would be 5 stars but i don't think I'll be back if i need to tip the person who puts cookies in a box for me. sorry...

Yelp
An institution. DR has been in business for years and the cookies have been consistent. There's a minimum to use card. But bring cash it's better for small businesses. * if you want more than ONE DOZEN OF THE SAME FLAVOR, call in your order, the day beforehand* I wanted 6 dozen of the same flavor and that didn't happen lol. Day old assortment dozen: $3.50 White chocolate macadamia dozen: $9 Any other dozen: $7 Parking? I've come over the years and have never lucked out on getting parking anywhere on the street or nearby. I lack patient so I always park in the lot next door. It's $5 for an hour and I think that's lame but I always will pay to pick up cookies. The go to flavors for my family and I: white chocolate macadamia nut & chocolate chip walnut. I'm Asian so when my parents said "hmm not too sweet" to the white chocolate macadamia cookies, I knew it was good. I wish it was SLIGHTLY less sweet but I digress. They have to cater to the American palate after all.

Yelp
Diddy Riese has been a solid stop for me whenever I am in Westwood. I was first introduced to it over 15 years ago by my cousin. I immediately fell in love with how fresh and affordable the cookies are. With current day inflation, the prices have certainly gone up but it is honestly still affordable. Parking is all street. We had a doctor's appointment at UCLA Stein Eye, so we ended up just taking the 6 minute walk from there. Upon arrival, there was already a short line. The shop is super tiny, so don't expect any seating. It's just the cookie display and ice cream display along with the cash register. They limit the dozens you can buy. You can't buy more than one dozen of the SAME flavor, but you can mix and match. Cookies are made fresh daily, so we ordered ourselves a two assorted dozens of the fresh cookies. As we checked out, we noticed the day old dozens sitting on the counter for about $3.50 a bag, so we bought one bag to add to our collection. We left Diddy Riese that day with 3 dozen cookies. We ended up eating a few of the cookies on our drive home. The white chocolate chip macadamia cookie was our favorite. That one cost a little bit more but it was SO good. The macadamia nut added a nice saltiness to the cookie which balances the sweetness of the white chocolate. It was the perfect pairing. Our other favorite is the plain white chocolate, the snickerdoodle, and the M&M's! It took us about 1.5 weeks to eat almost all of our cookies. We shared some with our family too. The cookies were genuinely good, but they were really sweet. I think we could only handle one to two cookies per day. It definitely curbed our sugar craving. We didn't eat sweets again for about a month after finishing our cookies! Lol.

Yelp
I will first start off by saying. The people are friendly and the chocolate chip cookie is really good. By their name that is what they specialize in. But icecream...nope. Maybe I got a bad batch but it didnt taste fresh nor was it good. I got the coffee ice cream. I will say they did have a few cookies on display.

Yelp
Last night, I visited this place based on a friend's recommendation. We waited in line for about 20 minutes before finally being served. I ordered a brownie, a macadamia cookie, and two chocolate chips. Overall, I would rate them a 5 out of 10. Personally, I found these cookies to be overhyped; they didn't live up to the hype, and their taste fell short of my expectations. It's possible that I prefer softer cookies because the cookies were hard. I thought the cookies were going to be served warm but they weren't. However, they do offer great prices; a brownie costs $1.50, and six cookies are priced at around $4. Additionally, there's no indoor seating; customers simply go in, order their cookies, and leave. Plus, if you pay with a credit card, you have to spend at least $5. Overall, they were okay. I don't think I would go out of my way to come here.

Yelp
Went onto yelp craving cookies, and stumbled upon Diddy Riese. I saw pictures of cookies so I just assumed it was a cookie store...little did I realize it was a popular ice cream shop once I saw the line haha. We ended up getting cookies (snickerdoodle and chocolate chip w/ walnuts) and a shave ice. The cookies were good and satisfied my craving. Shave ice was standard. I do think their ordering is a bit inefficient. They should have a different line for folks who either want just cookies or shave ice. They would be able to go through lines a lot more efficiently. Cash only that day with the credit card machine randomly going down, which was a bit annoying. Street parking only.

Yelp
There is a line usually but it goes down fast. Best $4 single ice cream scoop!! So affordable and enjoyable. :)

Yelp
Cheap cookies and average ice cream. Even better eating as cookie sandwiche in cold weather. Quick to go service. Nothing to elaborate. No restroom though. So that's the downsize of ambiance.

Yelp
Great post dinner/late night hang out spot. Their ice cream is alright but their cookies are so fresh and chewy. Super fast service so just grab and go walk around Westwood!

Yelp
You can only purchases a dozen in the same flavor per customer. You have to order ahead for lager order in the same cookie. Service is fast. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Always busy. Closed on Mondays. Limited room from eating inside. Grab n go kind of place. Located in the heart of Westwood/UCLA.

Yelp
You'll find higher quality cookies and ice cream elsewhere, but you'll get the most bang for your buck here! There's lots of different options for cookies and ice cream to create your own custom dessert. Brownies are an option, too! I enjoyed how the cookies in the ice cream sandwich stayed soft and chewy, unlike pre-made ice cream sandwiches where the cookies are harder to bite. There's a $5 minimum for card. Considering how cheap everything is, come prepared with cash unless you plan on buying multiple items!

Yelp
I grew up on Diddy! Ever since I was a teen, I would frequent Diddy Riese. Their yummy fresh baked cookies are like no other. Not to mention their ice cream cookie sandwiches, which are to die for! I even remember a time when they used to offer hotdogs but they gave that up a while ago! Mark Perry is the owner and such a sweet guy! And some of the same guys have been working there for years as well. Fast forward many many years later, I've been taking my kids to Diddy since they were barely able to walk... and now they're both young adults and still find it a treat to go there! And you can't beat the price... Still affordable as ever! Diddy Riese is a landmark not just in Westwood but in all of LA.!
