"This spot, named for chef and owner Scott Hoffner’s mom, is a neighborhood restaurant serving comfort food, from fish and chips to meatloaf and oh so many burgers. Give the spicy hot honey buttered fried chicken a whirl, and that blackened catfish earns raves from diners. This spot also regularly hosts live music, so check the website to see what’s coming up." - Eater Staff

Located in the older part of Frisco, just a mile or so from the soccer field, this place is a local gem. Great food, great atmosphere and good service at an unbeatable price. Yes, you can definitely find a better burger, a place with more charm etc., but definitely not at this price point, and hence the 5 star rating. The place offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Weather permitting, sit outside. It's boring inside. Food is fresh and tasty. Fries are crisp. Portions are generous. The house mimosas and margaritas starting at $4 is value for money. After we finished our meal our waitress proactively suggested we visit their new crepes and desert place nearby. Though we were really full, the offer was too tempting and we went there as well. That too was good, but not so high on the VFM scale.

Google
We always drive past this place so we were excited to finally give it a try. We ordered the short rib benedict and Nashville chicken and waffle sandwich. They have great hospitality but the food was over cooked. Short rib was dry, poached egg was basically hard boiled, fried chicken was over fried and very bland for Nashville style fried chicken. The potatoes were good though.

We visited for the first time & absolutely loved it. From the food to the service - we can’t wait to come back. Shrimp picante, buffalo chicken Caesar wrap and the Moscow mules were delicious. Our server Rebecca and the bartender Chelsie were super personable & made us feel so welcome! It was a nice touch to have the owner, Scott stop by at the end of our meal too. This is your sign to go check them out!

This place was unbelievable. We always drive past this place and we have never eaten here until today. The vibe in this place is key, it brings in daylight with a mix of warm lighting for the perfect mix. The 1st photo is the Philly cheesesteak with shaved short rib and a side salad. The 2nd photo is the chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The chicken was HUGE it was so cheap for what for what we got. 10/10 flavors also! Definitely coming again. Also the live music was amazing to hear. The outdoor seating is also heated so no worry to be cold.

This is one of my favorite spots in downtown frisco , the atmosphere is outstanding... food is the most delicious food in city, all homemade and Chief Scott is amazed us with different flavors and new dishes 😋

Google
I drove by this place a few times over the last month and it gave me a very chill, neighborhood not pretentious type of vibe. Yes, a non pretentious vibe in the heart of Frisco. Is that even possible? I'm here to tell you it is! Went for brunch on a Sunday and sat outside where they have a big outdoor patio area. It was a bit cold but they had outdoor mushroom heaters so it was all nice and toasty. What impressed me about this place was the quality of the food. When they brought out our plates, I could tell by the colors that everything was super fresh and well cooked. Secondly, Didi's has all sorts of eclectic music acts playing music at the patio area which is a major bonus. When we were there they had a reggae band jamming out to some Caribbean/Reggae rhythms (Yeaaaaaah my selecta). Overall the atmosphere was super chill and even got the chance to meet the owner/chef Scott who was making his rounds asking patrons if there was anything that they needed and getting people's general feedback. You can tell when someone is passionate about what they do and chef Scott is not playing around. What he serves there is an extension of who he is. Also appreciate someone who invests in bringing quality music to their establishment when technically they don't have to. One thing I told him was like he was funky like a monkey. I think he liked that..hehe. I will be back for sure. Support your local non franchise/corporate restaurant folks because they are few and far between these days. Restaurant groups are taking over America one city at a time and we are here to say NO! Power to the people ✊🏼 * They also have a rocking happy hours and they have weekly special dishes on the menu to keep the vibe flowing and interesting **Updating My Review: A 4-Star Experience. I've revisited this spot several times (have not been back in about a year), leading me to revise my rating to 4 stars. While still enjoyable, I've come to realize the menu is rather limited, especially regarding non-fried options. Furthermore, the bartender service, in my experience at the bar, could use some improvement.

Google
This is a regular in our rotation! We even bring family and friends when they come in from out of town. The quality is consistent and it's very clear the owner takes care in curating the weekly menu with in-season ingredients. We haven't had very many misses at Didi's. My husband loves their shrimp tacos, gyros, and Frito chili pie. I love their chicken Bianca and meatloaf. The atmosphere is also great! The outside patio is nice and spacious. They have local musicians playing pretty much every Thurs-Sun. On the weekend during the summer, it's best to call ahead for outdoor seating but indoor is just as good.

Google
The food is AMAZING! We happened to stumble upon this cute gem 💎. Compliments to the CHEF 🧑‍🍳👍🏼 the live music on point!!

Tammy M.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! I had the skillet chicken and it was delicious! The chips, salsa and queso was good. The salsa could have less garlic but was good. The hot fudge pie was delicious! This restaurant is a must visit restaurant. Our server Celeste was great!

Jake D.

Yelp
Whoa. This visit was my first time for DiDi's. My family visits more frequently, but I haven't had the opportunity to go, but I have to say I was so impressed that I went again tonight 3/7/24. Both times I had take out, tonight my family dinner in and got me something to go. I got the redfish and grits each time with a couple special requests like sauce on the side, etc. They nailed it both times. Fish was perfectly cooked, fresh, and packed exactly how I ordered it. Can't speak to the ambience but my wife tells me we'll dine in together sometime soon. She loves the homely, comfortable atmosphere. Not a typical restaurant so it's more comfortable. Looking forward to dinning in soon.

Hugo G.

Yelp
Really dig the down to earth vibes here and community neighborhood feel. The outdoor patio is nice to have when the weather is good. The inside bar has a cool rustic feel to it and love the window to the outside on a sunny day. Lots of ambient reflection with the bottles and glasses are a unique highlight. (Goes along with your very relaxing cocktails) My favorite meals are the tasty hamburgers. The mushroom Swiss and Portabela are my personal favorites. The service is very good and personableness of hospitality approach is quite wonderful to enjoy when having a nice brunch, lunch or dinner.

Richard J.

Yelp
Food and service was very good! Had the redfish and grits and highly highly highly suggest. Live music was a cherry on top!

L H.

Yelp
It was our first time in for brunch and everything was delicious. But what really stood out was the fantastic hostess! I will be back because of her. We had the short rib hash and shrimp and grits. I loved the cheese in the grits! The side of potatoes that were under the hash were a bit plain. The beignets were great but the regular sugar in addition to the powdered sugar made it too sweet for us. The strawberry sauce helped cut that sweetness.

Byron S.

Yelp
This definitely should be included on your restaurants to try list. We have eaten here several times and it's always a wonderful experience. The service and food are fantastic. I always enjoy the local flavor and home cooking style menu items. The potions are huge and we ended up taking some home. Stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

Chad W.

Yelp
Wonderul place with great food, incredible service and staff, and a comfortable casual atmosphere. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans. Incredible sauce! I asked for more. Honestly there wasn't anything left on my plate, which is really a compliment since I'm finding I rarely finish an entree as I get older. I moved out to the patio to have dessert. I ordered their wonderful fudge pie ala mode. I snarfed it while enjoying the music of Razzmatazz. Truly a great evening.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Cozy local spot with a little bit of everything. I got the grilled chicken club which was tasty. My son got the chicken tenders. I tried them and they were so fresh and crunchy. Our server was very nice and even happily swapped out a side when my husband wasn't happy with it (the elote).

Hunter B.

Yelp
First off, this restaurant is wonderful. Nice atmosphere, good food and great staff. Recently we lost an item at the restaurant (not their fault, it was ours). They went WELL out of their way to help us find it. Thank you so much for the over the top effort! We'll be back soon for sure!!

Kylee L.

Yelp
We came in today for brunch and it was really good!! The parking lot does fill quickly and it seems to be a pretty popular Sunday spot. I had the avocado toast... it is a lot of bread, two sunny side up eggs, pepper jelly, avocado and salad. It was delicious!!

Amy D.

Yelp
The food was great and Scott very accommodating. We were outside but I loved it. Bloody Mary's were great. Symone was wonderful and patient with our group

Michele S.

Yelp
The Chef and the food are wonderful. The staff have always been great! A fun place for all ages.

Christa M.

Yelp
Cute place with a great patio. Went for brunch on Sunday. They had a live band playing. Ordered the shrimp and grits w/eggs. Like most places, my eggs were undercooked. Asked for over medium, got over easy - almost sunny. The shrimp and grits were good however. My girlfriend ordered country potatoes for the table to share. I didn't care for them. They were barely seasoned and undercooked. My girlfriends liked their meals, big daddy burrito and a short stack. The server was good, as we kept sending him for more syrup, more water, more sugar...more. I do want to go back and try other things.

Bella B.

Yelp
Food is okay. Burgers are a bit dry and massive for a child. Fries were not good. Almost burnt. Drinks were prob the best overall. I did like the steak I had here and the pattymelt wasn't bad. Those fries just are way too overdone. Service is always good here. I can't complain at all on that. They typically go above and beyond. Ambiance is a bit divey. Not dirty but just dark and dusty. Overall I could see myself coming back but the best thing I have had here was their deviled eggs and drinks so perhaps limited with a YMMV situation. I don't really think their kids menu is appropriate for younger than 5yo.

Nisha I.

Yelp
Right in the backyard and we just found this gem!! The food was soooo fresh and amazing! Can't wait to go back and try some more items! Sit in their huge patio when it's not too hot out - it's a vibe!! The service was wonderful. 10/10

Leo R.

Yelp
The food, service and variety of appetizers and dishes were amazing! Our Family of 4 had a great time listening to the live music on Thur evening, and we'll be back. Highly recommend!

Rick H.

Yelp
Tried getting in here a couple times, always on a Friday/Saturday but so busy that I couldn't find a parking space anywhere. Finally managed to try Didi's and glad I made it in. Had the meatloaf it was awesome. Had the chocolate cake afterwards and it was OUTSTANDING. I will be back, a great spot.

Deborah T.

Yelp
Great food outside patio and laid back atmosphere. We like it it's in our neighborhood and the people working there are friendly. Food never disappoints!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I give it 3 stars because the first time my boyfriend and I went there, we recieved great service and the food was yummy. But the second time we came, everything was flipped. We got seated right away-- sure. But when we came it was for brunch on the weekend. Sounds easy, right? Well, on the website, it doesn't mention that brunch is only served on SUNDAYS. So, if you're in the mood for brunch, ONLY come on a Sunday. We told this to the waitress and she seem unbothered. She just said, "Oh, sorry. I'll give you a minute." and didn't even bother to make an apology for the confusion. The dining room was NOT packed and yet, she came up to us and was seemingly trying to rush us along to make a descision (3 times or so), and when we told her that we weren't quite sure what to get (as we were set on the brunch menu) she didn't even make a suggestion. It all felt very rushed and kind of rude, honestly) We weren't there for maybe 15 minutes total and we took maybe 6 minutes deliberating and since we truned away our waitress 3 times, it was like she purposfully decided to take a spin around the dining room and we were waving at her and saying, "HELLO?" a couple of times, even tried to catch her by sayin,"Miss?" a couple of times when she sat down two tables next to us. Frustrated, we left for another place because we felt ignored. When we left,, the hostess and the owner were at the host stand and they gave us a very loud and chipper,"Thank you!" It made my boyfriend reply scarcastically and me roll my eyes so hard. The other place we went to immediately after was well worth it,though.

Beryl D.

Yelp
Good food and awesome service. Came here with my family Sunday before last after church. We all enjoyed our meals. Definitely will come back.

Lynn R.

Yelp
Didi's is always my go to place for great food and a casual atmosphere. The owner, Scott, is always there and greets each table. He is a funny guy and you see his personal touch throughout the restaurant. This past Wednesday I had the gumbo special. It was to die for with chunks of shrimp and a huge piece of jalapeño corn bread to sop the base up with. The staff always great'. They treat you like you are one of their friends. My waitress took extra time explaining how the gumbo was made and that it was a little spicy. Believe me, when I say it wasn't too spicy for me. I ate every bit. Thank you Scott and Staff for never failing to make Didi's my special place! Lynn Radford

Rene S.

Yelp
There is live music provided by a guy singing varied music selections with his electric guitar and another fellow providing support with his electric guitar as well. The food is delicious. American, Italian, Greek dishes on the menu. Beer, Wine and usual drinks as well. Service is outstanding. Parking is free.

Remy H.

Yelp
We love Didi's, a restaurant in old town Frisco that provides indoor and outdoor seating. Bar area is too small... 12 max ? for seating capacity. Food is great, Owner Scott is also great as he always makes sure his customers are happy with their food by introducing himself.

Nancy C.

Yelp
The restaurant looks like a mom and pop spot with both inside and outside sitting. Very casual. Our server was quick and attentive. I inhaled the food. Didn't even take a moment to photograph anything. The food is HEAVY! As you'd expect. So be prepared to take a nap after. I ordered the : 1) Philly Cheesesteak app - 9/10 2) Loaded fries - 6/10 3) Gyro- 8/0 With I had room for dessert. I'll be back. They have a happy hr !!!!

Charlie T.

Yelp
I just had a horrible dish of fish and chips. The fish was saturated in oil and was almost a 50/50 split of fried oily breading to fish. The fries were over salted and were also greasy though less so than the fish. I threw away all of the fish and picked through the fries. I would try other dishes here but would advise staying away from this one.

Melia D.

Yelp
Food is top notch. It is run by a chef. Also very cool vibe. Brunch had a saxophone player. Reasonably priced.

Jamaica O.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service, and music! I had the fried shrimp tacos and they were good. My sister had the fish and chips. She said that the tartar sauce left much to be desired. I want to also add that Myron Oliver is a great performer and musician. My sister and I really enjoyed the music.

Geri H.

Yelp
I have idea what the hype is about at this place and I'd minus 5 could be given, I would. Probably can safely this was the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant!I've had far better burgers at Sonic, and that's not saying much. We'd come with a group celebrating a birthday. I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger medium well done, stressing I didn't like it raw looking. My one friend ordered the meatloaf. Food came out all at the same time which was nice. The first thing I tried were the fries. They were absolutely disgusting, limp with grease and zero taste. Waitress disappeared instantly - never saw her again until everyone had finished their meal. After the disastrous fries it was time for the burger. It had a good deal of meat but looked like canned mushrooms of which there were very few. Cut it in half and found what I would call medium rare - and of course waited for our server to come back so I could send it back. She never did. I took one bite and was amazed that there was absolutely no seasoning. And of course none on the table! No server to ask for some even tho I waited for several minutes. I'd been given a half cup of catsup (probably for the fries) and tried that. Helped some but I'm not a catsup lover so just left it all on the plate. When she did come back to collect everyone's plates I asked for a take home box thinking I might be able to doctor the burger at home. Left the disgusting fries on the plate. No way to fix that soggy limp mess! What a waste of $$$! The gal next to me that ordered the meatloaf couldn't eat it. It arrived at room temperature and hard as a rock (she'd ordered the sauce on the side). The lukewarm mashed potatoes were like glue. She took the meatloaf home but ended up throwing it in the garbage as it was as hard as a rock she said. Needless to say a few of us will definitely never be going back to this place. Worst food I think I have eaten!

Shelby T.

Yelp
The food was amazing! I love the idea of changing specials each week-- just one of the many perks of Didi's. There was also live music and the outdoor patio was a complete vibe that made our experience worth it! The best part of this experience was our server-- CELESTE. You NEED to request CELESTE as your server. She made this experience absolutely magical. She explained the menu perfectly, recommended personal favorites, came exactly when we needed her, but never bothered us or made us overwhelmed, she was just PERFECT. The way she conversed with me and my husband-- it was almost like I already knew her!!! She and the rest of the staff were so kind and welcoming. 10/10 would recommend Didi's. 100/10 would recommend if Celeste is your server!!!

Jason W.

Yelp
I really like this place. The atmosphere is hard to beat and the staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, the food has been leaving me hoping for more. Brunch food was awesome, but lunch and dinner weren't great. The last time I had food here, I had the General Tsos Chicken Sandwich, it was difficult to find the meat through all the breading and sauce, and I couldn't even pick up the sandwich. My vote is to just go for drinks past brunch time.

Ramon S.

Yelp
TEXICAN CHICKEN and the BEIGNETS! What a gem we found, really. We were in town for a baseball game and stumbled upon this place and am I glad we did. Service and food were amazing. Chef was kind enough to come to our table to check on us. Seriously though, if you enjoy a little spicy food do yourself a favor and get the TEXICAN Chicken. It is really good. And the beignets, oh my god so good. My daughter still talks about them a couple months later. Our waitress was great, very knowledgeable with the menu and recommendations. Will definitely be back when in the Frisco area! I've been to a lot of restaurants including some high end ones, but this food was up there for sure! Thank you so much for putting out outstanding food to your customers.

Stephen C.

Yelp
Fantastic wait staff, top notch cocktails and incredibly delicious meatloaf! If you love Rum - try the D'yer Mak'er! Get double mashed potatoes with the meatloaf- who needs veggies! And enjoy the patio, bar area or inside seating.

Rance W.

Yelp
Awesome food amazing entertainment love this place I can't wait to go back again. The outdoor patio area is perfect for summer time.

Jessica R.

Yelp
I came here to say, ORDER THE RED FISH & GRITS came with my parents for the first time, sat on the patio and enjoyed live music. We really enjoyed our evening and the service!

Jamie S.

Yelp
I am new to the area and had visited eight 11 & when I called to make a reservation with them, sadly they were booked BUT I did ask the hostess for reccomendations & she said to check out Didi's & I'm so glad we did. Didn't disappoint & was the perfect atmosphere.

Regina S.

Yelp
I am lactose intolerant and have celiac. I called a day ahead to make a reservation at 6pm for date night with my boyfriend. I HIGHLY recommend leaving a couple minutes earlier, specially if you are going on a weekend. It took us 45 minutes to find parking! Their parking lot was completely full. I called within 10 mins to let the hostess know we were just outside finding parking. Once 20 minutes pasted I went inside to tell them that we were still looking for parking. Thank goodness the hostess's were so kind and understanding. They said yes parking can get crazy and assured me that the table will be held. Finally when we walked in they sat us down right away. It was nice to see some gluten free options. The Didis house burger with gluten free bun was tasty. I liked the pepperiness taste of the coleslaw I had as a side. The waiter was also very kind and friendly. My boyfriend was not a fan of the chili on the Texas chili burger. Just the chili the rest looked great it's just the fact it's chili which covers the rest of the burger. It was a personal preference of his. The waiter noticed he was not a fan of the Texas chili burger that he gave us a discount on the burger. The restaurant has a nice casual atmosphere. We saw tables being filled up right after the previous family/group was finished. It's definitely a popular place. They have friendly staff. Also I really enjoyed seeing the owner/chef Scott Hoffner going around greeting people and making sure everyone was enjoying. Looking forward to coming back again.

Jared T.

Yelp
We love this place! Best food, live music, patio, and friendliest chef/owner. We will be back again and again.

lazy s.

Yelp
The girl at the front needs training. When we asked to move tables she said we can't when clearly no one came and sat there the whole time we were there. The waiter was really nice and food is decent.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant right in downtown Frisco. We were seated right away. There was a wait for the patio so expect that on the weekend. Our server, Emily, was super pleasant and sweet. The food came out hot and fresh. I got the chicken sandwich and my husband got the patty melt. My daughter got the kids hotdog and it was very good! (I tried it!). We took a walk through the patio and they had live music so I can see why there was a wait. The owner came out and greeted all the tables as well which was very nice. We'd definitely come back to try some other menu items and sit outside for the live music.

DeDe W.

Yelp
Great service and great food! Love the atmosphere and will definitely be back to enjoy the patio. Owner/head Chef came to our table to make sure everything was perfect! A+ all the way!

Joe N.

Yelp
After driving past this place for years, we were encouraged by family members to give it a try. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the menu variety and diversity and the quality of the food. The menu is varied to fit any craving and leaves you wanting to go back to try each offering. The only thing that topped the food was the service. Ryan was our server and she was amazing, super friendly and informative. Later, the chef and owner Scott came out to make sure we enjoyed our dinner and stayed around to answer questions and walk us through a part of the menu we missed. Supper friendly and appreciative. While we sat inside, you'll want to plan on an incredible outdoor experience on their patio with live music. Overall, couldn't be more excited by the new/old find and will be back many times in the future. Go try it, you'll love it!

Ken M.

Yelp
This is Frisco's prize money....Chef Scott is amazing and a great host. The food is fantastic. The vibe is fantastic. The live music is fantastic. Didi's is fantastic. Voted best burger in Frisco. The Sticky Chicken is a legend and so is the Philly can Cheesesteak Egg Rolll _ everything on the menu is A+!

Michael T.

Yelp
Wow! Wish we had tried this place sooner. We are definitely adding it as our top place to eat out now. The atmosphere is great, casual but nice with live music. Our waitstaff was extremely friendly and incredibly efficient. The food was amazing, and the owner/chef checked in with us. After some really good chips and queso, I had the Blackened Catfish Pontchartrain, my wife had the Texican Chicken, and son had the House Burger. We all loved them! Finished off with the delicious Hot Fudge Pie (yum!!!). As we left, we all commented to each other that it was the best outing we'd had in a long while. A great experience!

Jim D.

Yelp
I tried this place a few times. Food is way too salty and menu is uninspiring. Drinks are fine. Atmosphere is a bit rough. Owner is a real piece of work and doesn't take feedback well. In fact, he's really aggressive.

Mike G.

Yelp
Brought a work friend here who had never been here before for lunch. We ate inside because it was still a bit steamy outside. We came for the tuna melt sammie of the week. It was quite good. I wouldn't say it was the best melt ever, but it held its own. We both got a side salad instead of fries and were happy with that. The salad was a good size, and the wasabi vinaigrette was tasty. Food took longer than usual to come out. Service was attentive, perhaps a little too much, but it's hard to fault anyplace these days for service being too attentive.

Suzy D.

Yelp
Absolutely awesome. My husband and I went for lunch on Friday. So many good items on the menu, had trouble deciding on what to select. I went with Fish and Chips, my husband had the Turkey burger. Both we excellent, service great, have no negatives except I wish we took pics of the food. My husband already wants to go again. Love finding a great, locally owned option.

Mikhael W.

Yelp
I read most of the awesome reviews! This place has been bookmarked for over 2 years! I must say, it was all pretty disappointing. Ambiance 5/5: beautiful, sunny day, on a patio, a couple of drinks, live music, what's not to like? Food 2/5: the philly egg rolls were "ok". You get 4 to an order (2 whole egg rolls).... So for what you pay, (over $10). Just not worth it, IMO. Philly cheesesteak was bland, nothing special, almost tasted a little "made-waaaaay-aheadish" if you catch my drift. The queso on the side was so cold it was a block of cheese and no longer queso. The drinks were weak; my 4 year old wouldn't get a buzz..... Service 3/5: Nothing mind blowing! I get it! everyone's understaffed right now! Refills stayed coming..... I really don't know what happened here. It was a Sunday afternoon, so they didn't seem overly busy. Folks love this place! Look at the reviews. Maybe it's just me....

Jenny D.

Yelp
This was a really fun place for brunch/lunch on the weekend. Great covered outdoor patio with plenty of fans and shade to keep you cool. They also had a singer who was really good the day we went. The staff is very friendly and the food was fantastic! OK I know what you're thinking I got a veggie burger which is a frozen patty. Here's how I know the rest of what they cook up is also delicious. My very first clue was how well the patty was seasoned and cooked, second clue was all the other food including my husband's looked just as delicious, and three when you have a veggie burger on your menu and don't cook it right I can tell and that was one of the best I've had so thank you!

Ferdinand P.

Yelp
Great little place. It feels very "homey" unlike much of the sterile atmosphere from many chain restaurants in the Frisco area that make you feel like you are in a restaurant inside the airport. The owner makes you feel welcomed -like you exist. The burgers are outstanding.

Bethany H.

Yelp
Wonderful food and kind service - just wish that they were open later on Sunday nights!!!
