19 of Montreal’s Best Bars for Live Music | Eater Montreal

"A jazz bar in the Plateau that’s been in operation since 2007, Diese Onze is often looked to because of its far-reaching programming that can feature anything from gypsy jazz and flamenco to more traditional stylings. With the exception of nights where they take a break, most evenings have a show to check out. They’ve also one of the more creative menus for food on their block with dishes like seared scallops with vanilla espuma, mahi mahi with leche de tigre, or linguine with braised lamb." - JP Karwacki

Dièse Onze is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve found something special. Tucked below street level, it has a warm, intimate atmosphere that’s perfect for live jazz—dim lighting, candlelit tables, and that close-up feeling where the music wraps around you. The live music is top-notch. The musicians are incredibly talented, and the lineup often features some of the best local jazz players. I went on a weeknight and was blown away by the quality—it felt like a private concert. The food is solid too. I had a main and a glass of wine, and everything was well prepared. It’s not overly fancy, but it’s good, comforting, and the kind of meal you want to enjoy slowly while soaking in the music.

I didn't order food but the music, the wine and the service was very good. I went a Friday and the program had 2 sets. $15 each. I pay for one, had 2 glasses of wine and enjoyed the music. I recomend to make a reservation if you want a table and be near of stage.

Google
We enjoyed the warm ambience and engaged audience for the Marianne Trudel trip (who were fantastic!!). The club is geared to the music with numerous tables facing the small corner stage. A reservation is a smart. The kitchen was closed so I can't comment on the food.

Diese Onze is a great jazz bar with amazing live performances and a cozy vibe! We had the burger and scallops—both pretty good. Definitely recommend calling ahead to make a reservation for the best seats (plus you get a small discount!). A must-visit for jazz lovers!

A splendid evening with great food/drinks, excellent music and atmosphere. Got what we came for! The band was awesome, the place was packed (Monday nightl but that didnt stop couples from twirling to the music. Drinks were spot on, service was very attentive and friendly. We relished the salmon tartere salad but found the cheese platter a but underwhelming with insufficient spreads for the bread. Overall a fab experience and I'll definitely return for the music and food.

Food and music were good, but the service was a little strange. Our bartender made us feel a little uncomfortable and not welcoming as one would like when going out.

I had so much fun listening to good jazz in a relaxed atmosphere as a single woman. People in the bar treat you like they already know you. Everyone is so friendly. You can try the beers before you order. I’ll definitely visit this place again. ✌🏿

Went to see Phil Masse Trio Record Launch: Phil Massé - bass, Sacha Desjardins - piano, Alexande Massé - drums . They were excellent. Loved the interaction between bass player and pianist. Food was surprisingly good. Service good overall. We did have a long wait.

Yelp
Ugh! You're terrible and you're decent. And Sadly you're the best in the local market that is close to city center. But YOU NEED TO DO BETTER! The lights you incorporate are terrible. Lighting matters! And it matters MORE in a "jazz club" Yo! On the stage they need to be enclosed so they don't shine into the eyes of your guests!! I wont come back because of this..... Let that sink in.... You have great musicians. Your ambience FAR from the stage is chill and relaxing. Up close it's horrific - for musician and audience. Is everyone around you so insensitive to their environment that nobody has understood that spending 1000 canadian dollars could fix this problem. 2000 could put it to rest for 20 years.... If you don't fix this you probably wont last 20. I'm trying to help...

Yelp
loved. wait staff were very considerate and always kept making sure we had anything. they got us in even though we didn't have a reservation (didn't know we should've) and the drinks were delicious

Yelp
We loved this place! The ambiance was cozy and cool, and staff was friendly and attentive, easy to converse in both French and English. We saw a great group- Doxas Brothers - playing some fantastic music. Absolutely would recommend, and suggest calling for reservations if it's during the busy season or a Friday or Saturday night in order to get a table.

Yelp
Sort of hidden jazz bar that's a lot of fun to go to. Can't speak for the food (it looked pricey, and we weren't that hungry), but the vibe was amazing. The lighting is very dim and the seats aren't super comfortable and the tables are small, but it's all part of the atmosphere! Drinks were reasonably priced. The place was so busy the night we went. The live music is great - the performers are so talented and you can really feel their passion as they sing and play. I'm personally not a jazz connaisseur, but I really enjoyed myself! Even if you aren't a very musical person you can admire the sheer talent of the performers. The music wasn't too loud, so no need to fear eardrum damage. this is jazz without all the pretentiousness - just go, have a drink or too, and vibe along!

Yelp
One of the coolest places you can go to for live jazz music!! The food was nice and simple, the service was great and staff helpful! The band that comes by on Mondays are absolutely spectacular, playing what I believe was Samba or Latin jazz... absolutely amazing. The vibes were iconic, the best possible energy and so alive. So sad I've never been here before but will absolutely come back whenever possible. 10 out of 5 stars!!!!

Yelp
Be sure to make a reservation if there's something you'd like to see. We came to hear the Jean-Michel Pilc Quartet with Kevin Dean on trumpet. The music was excellent. We ordered burgers which were nicely prepared and delicious. They have a varied selection of wine with a very knowledgeable waiter. I thought the $15 cover charge was reasonable. We would return!

Yelp
Such a hidden gem in Montreal. Seriously - blink and you might miss it! While Diese Onze is on a bustling strip with lots of bars and restaurants it's easy to overlook this small hole in the wall jazz bar. On a frigid winter night this was the perfect date night activity for some post-dinner fun. And, it didn't hurt that we got to see some of the best live jazz that we've ever seen. The band played for hours which made this experience very worth the 8 dollar cover charge. If you are looking for more than just a post-dinner activity you can also dine here - they offer a full menu. Instead, we just opted for drinks. There are a bunch of interesting sounding cocktails and I ended up going with a rose mojito (YES, this exists!) which was refreshing and delicious. Cocktails are around 10-12 dollars. Next time I find myself in Montreal I definitely plan to hit Diese Onze again for some live jazz and fun vibes. I have a feeling that this is a memory that my fiance and I will look back on for years to come!

Yelp
1,000th review and it's a 5 star review for a special place! I was in Montréal on business and stayed for a few extra days to check out the city (and what a great city it is, but that's another review). The bartender in the hotel I was staying asked me if I liked jazz..."Uh, sure" was my reply not really knowing whether or not I really liked jazz. "You have to check out Diese Onze," was his response (I had to have him write it down as I couldn't figure out what he was saying with his real French accent - he was indeed from France.) After pondering my evening plans over a beer, I decided not to be lazy and just walk around the corner for dinner, so I hailed an Uber and headed across town to Diese Onze. As I arrived, I hopped out of the car and looked around...where is it? Ah, down the steps into a below grade, cozy and quaint haunt. I arrived early, so there were plenty of tables and room at the bar in front of the barely raised staged. As the music started, I became enchanted with the place. The music filled the low-ceiling space and was amazing. Sitting at the bar, I struck up a conversation with a mostly French-speaking older couple who lived a few hours outside of Montreal. They told me Diese Onze was one of their favorite places to visit while in town - I was quickly understanding why. Eventually, I decided to order dinner at the bar - in my terrible French and even worse comprehension, I awkwardly ordered mushroom risotto. Oh my, it was heavenly! Upon, finishing my meal, I was so in love with the place - the vibe, the music, the people and the food - I decided to walk back to my hotel in the light/moderate rain reflecting on what I had just experienced (it was about a :50 minute walk and it was lovely.) Diese Onze, you were the highlight of my trip to Montreal! And thank you Mr. Bartender for the recommendation - and yes, I like jazz. On a final note, please be generous when they pass around the tip hat for the musicians - they're worth it! I hope I can make it back to Diese Onze one of these days, it was spectacular - 5 stars!

Yelp
Came to this place to celebrate in mid-February. I got here early, around 18h00 and there was enough space. I ate at the bar, had some nice beers and a nice plate of their charcuterie. The thing here was that they were cooking fish, or they had some pan with fish oil that it was perfuming the restaurant. I hope their chef reads this because it was uncomfortable. However, their dishes are good. Then, the music started. It was a Quebecois string trio (a contrabass and two guitars) that had the soul and groove of some pf the finest artists. They cheered up the small crowd that was hanging in there. Suave conversations were muted by those guitar solos and crazy riffs. Those musicians know how to shut you up and make you smile. Thus, the ambience is amazing. As the evening continued, more people entered this hidden gem. Around 22h00, when the trio was no longer playing, I was asked by the staff if I wanted to pay $10.00 CAD to stay and enjoy their headliners. The vibe was amazing enough that I did not hesitate to pay. The next music band consisted of 7 to 9 musicians. They played a fusion of jazz and funk. Their groove was for dancing, and people were just swinging their booties, clapping, being themselves and smiling. James Brown's and the JB's covers were shaking this place. After many beers and great dancing, I left this place with a huge smile and with the objective of coming back. I don't know when this will happen, but I hope I can enjoy another magical evening here.

Yelp
Can't speak much to the food, as we only got drinks and crème brûlée (all great), but it is such an intimate and fun venue and the service was so friendly and wonderful. We got seated at the back which was a bit of a bummer but we came at 6:50 for a 7pm show and didn't have reservations so totally not complaining. During the set break some people left and they offered to move us to a table right up front. It was such a great evening.

Yelp
A very cool nightclub that produces live jazz! The space has seating so that you can hear the band from anywhere in the club (speakers are strategically placed around the room). And, the food and drinks are decent as well.

Yelp
Best jazz club for miles and miles. Food is excellent. Music is first rate. Atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. A perfect night out!

Yelp
I wasn't sure about this place but glad we went eventually. Great drinks and food (go for the cheese cake!!!) and wonderful vibe! We've been there on a jam night (after a short show by a band) and it was magical. It is recommended to make a reservation when there is a show and to contribute a "tip" to the band if it's not a weekend with an admission fee.

Yelp
We went to dinner a few doors down and the server recommended this place for jazz. It's insane hidden as you go down the stairs to lower level. The place was packed, they have a area that is tucked around the side that has no views of the performers BUT they have a tv for your to watch, of course you can hear them as this place is small. The live tv feed made it great as if you want to "chat" this is the spot you will want to sit. The seats and tables with view of small stage area is really for those jazz enthusiasts, no talking. The door charge is placed onto your bill, $8.00 per person. The drink menu had something g for everyone and they serve food too. This was by far my favorite part of our visit to Montreal. If you like jazz you cannot miss his place, make reservations!

Yelp
There aren't many old school jazz lounges in the area and we were pleasantly surprised when this one was recommended. It had good reviews and had artists playing the night we were available. There was a cover charge added to the bill and clearly posted at the entrance. It is also explained upon being seated. We had great seats in the booth. Drinks were nicely prepared and served very quickly. The crowd was older and really into the music. The musicians were very talented and we enjoyed their set. We felt like old friends hanging out for a jam session. Very mellow and low key place to sit back, relax, and enjoy late night entertainment.

Yelp
We checked out Diese Onze on a rainy Monday when all Montréal seemed asleep. It was an excellent choice! Though the signage was poor and the place seemed closed from the outside, inside was warm and inviting. The drinks were great and the servers helpful and kind. All of that said, the music was better than we could have ever hoped for. Monday was Cubano Jazz night, and the experience was one I will not soon forget. The bands--the first was so good we stayed for the second--had people dancing in the aisles. Both incredible salsa dancers and you're average Joe's we're loving to the music. The bar is intimate enough that you feel like the music is just for you, but ample enough that we didn't feel crowded. Overall, this was the best jazz club I've experienced.

Yelp
Jazz early, late show was Soul Therapy... both excellent.. Good quality food, excellent service, a fantastic evening - A very cool venue below ground - reminded on The West Village in NYC, great crowd -anyway you sit/stand you can hear the music and if you're not in the front music room you can watch it on monitors .... Highly recommended

Yelp
The staff and singers are fantastic. Had such a good time I wanted to go again but we ran out of time. Great singers. We went on open mic night and fell in love with ALL the singers. Karaoke it was NOT. A must for anyone in Montreal

Yelp
Went to catch a manouche style band while in Montreal. Intimate and rustic, classy and casual all at once. Service at the tables was timely; food was reasonably priced and tasty as well at tasteful in presentation. We had beef tartare and tuna tataki.

Yelp
Our last night in Montreal found us seeking some excitement and fun we definitely would not be able to find at home in Charleston. Lo and behold, Diese Onze!!! It was a rainy Monday evening and we caught one of the best latin jazz bands we've ever seen, performing to a packed house full of people grooving and dancing. It was so fun! The audience ranged in age from early 20s to mid 70s, a really great and diverse group of people. It was an $8/person cover...we got there around 9:30 and while the floor was not packed, there was no place to sit. The floor filled up within about 30 minutes though and it was hard to move around. If sitting is important, get there early or maybe make a reservation. We didn't eat there but our Airbnb host cautioned us strongly to "only go for the music, not the food"...so whatever that's worth. The food didn't look bad as it came out.

Jason B.

Yelp
5/5 for the jazz. 3/5 for the food and wine. 1/5 for the service. If you're only interested in jazz, you will not be disappointed. The musicians are fantastic. The food, I could take or leave. It was a bit pricey for what it is. It's certainly not bad but considering what's available in Montreal it's middle of the road. The wine list is really lacking. Instead of bringing mass produced labels like Kim Crawford they're missing out on creating a list with some great local Québécois wines, supplemented with other Canadian and French wines to round out the list. I would definitely go back for the music but probably eat dinner beforehand.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of performing at Dièse Onze during Nuit Blanche. It`s a hidden treasure. Artists like Regimental Oneton blasted us awake with his slam drill - felt like a vibrator from King King and Susan Shulman spoke of love and sweet nothings and something about mermaids. Then there was The Apostle who ranted like a preacher on fire. I gave in by sharing my secret garden and took off the vines...not like covered up Adam & Eve. Frederic Alarie Trio performed and with it`s low ceilings, smokey mirrors and stucco and bricks...it brought me back to the speakeasy bars in lower Manhattan during my twenties. But from stories told by legendary Vic Vogel ( I toured with him in my younger years)...this basement surely has memories of the Montreal underground music scene. The tapas menu is comfort food with a twist of nouveau cuisine. While I performed as Host of the 10 HOURS FOR A SPOKEN WORLD Poetry-Slam-Spoken Word event ( the only one with the word PASTA) With the stamp of approval of multilingual Montréalaisers, I couldn`t help but dream of returning to this stage and spreading my secret garden all over the bar... A great place to snuggle close to your lover listening to live jazz and soul music. I`ll meet you there at 11:00PM.

Yelp
Just visited the bar starting from reserving over the phone that went smoothely to the food and ambience of the place that was really nice, starting with the calmars frits that was a bit oily and over fried but ok overall, then the contre- fillet de boeuf that was really good and finishing with the mille feulle that tasted really really good and for the cocktails i would recommend the pina colada it was really perfect but the mojito wasn't that good, last but not least the music jamming session avec kim was really nice and lovely but not the place for real jazz music if you're a real jazz fan but nevertheless with some local talents that's coming up the stage it ought to make u feel the coziness of the place and yeah the service was attentive and very good overall a bit to the pricey side but no surprises on the cheque
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful musicians and very accommodating staff. We came in not knowing reservations were needed, but they kindly asked us to wait less than 5 minutes and we were able to experience the fantastic jazz quartet arrangement. Didn't have any food, but the plates coming out smells amazing.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Great food! What a surprise! Small quaint place but amazing!! We will definitely be back if ever in the area. Came here by chance and it was so awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
I've only been here 3x but every time was 5 stars. The food was fab, drinks fab, servers fab, music fab. There's a retro feel in the place too, the low ceiling gives a speakeasy feel. Very cozy, great date place.

Yelp
I brought my daughter here last night to introduce her to the charm of a great little jazz joint. It was cold and rainy with occasional snow, i.e. seriously yucky, outside. We walked down the stairs into it's golden, low-beamed coziness and had ourselves a nice little time listening to a jazz trio. Go! It's a gem of a spot

Aram R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, music was amazing and if you can't sit close to the stage don't worry because there are screens that play the show. The drinks are ok and the food is really good. Very nice place to relax at night and listen great music.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
Intimate seating and sexy lighting... fantastic live music... a host who helps you find seating by artfully rearranging other patrons and a cover of only $6. So what if my scotch pour was a tad stingy - this place has it all!! This is the perfect locale for a nightcap post dinner at L'Express (easy walk, even in heels and in 5degree F weather!) or to round off a hot first date. I highly recommend checking it out - only don't tell anyone else, or next time I'm in Montreal there may be no room for me!

Ernie M.

Yelp
There greatest place! We found it by chance and couldn't be happier. Great wine, great service, even greater music! I will definitely come back

Yelp
Had a terrible time and the service was shocking. We had a table reserved for 3 people at 9.30pm. We got seated and were going to order drinks as we had been out for dinner prior. The person who seated us was so rude once he found out we weren't ordering food. We did order dessert and also drinks. I had to wait 45 mins for an espresso martini as they ran out of Martini glasses, they then served it to me in a regular glass after all that wait. We only stayed for one set of jazz as the service was terrible, I had to get up and ask for another drink. When our bills came we had a handwritten $20 charge per person on our bills. When asking what this was for - they said it was a cover charge as we each didn't order a meal. Absolutely disgusting behavior. Will not be back.
google avatar

Derek J.

Yelp
A live jazz bar with a fantastic atmosphere and great music. The food is mediocre and not worth the trip alone, but the performance nights are fantastic and more than make up for it.
google avatar

Ramón C.

Yelp
A good selection of cocktails, wines and even four or five decent beers, great cozy atmosphere and better than average bar food. There is a little corner with tables that can't see the stage when bands play, but to fix that, the club installed a TV where everything happening on stage is shown. Also, the music is carried back to that corner with speakers that manage to carry quite a lot of nuance in their sound, and the microphone setup and mixing was just right on the evening when we visited. The tables directly next to the drums were far too noisy and of course the drums would dominate the whole sound, but the other corner by the side of the piano was surprisingly balanced. Any extra fee for the band that plays is clearly marked at the entrance and the barman mentioned it to us before we ordered as well, which is very fair. 10$ for more than 2 hours of music is hardly a lot. For food we tried the trio of tapas, which came with beef and salmon tartar and black olive paste, and the calamari. The salmon was nice, fresh and had a punchy note of lemon to it, the beef was smooth and nicely spiced. The batter the calamari came in was crunchy and salted just enough. Though they were a little on the oily side, the oil was fresh, so there wasn't any problem, and the sauce tartare they came with tasted light and didn't dominate everything. The barman was all alone serving around 30 thirsty guests during the first half hour of our stay, yet we received our food and drinks in record time.
google avatar

Ishi M.

Yelp
Great ambiance and great music! Food was also very good even if it was a bit overpriced. Customer service was ok, but then it was really crowded and the tables were really close to each other so there wasn't really enough space. Overall, we had a lot of fun and we were very entertained by the band, Les Crooks. Will be back here whenever we are in town!

Inna P.

Yelp
Best jazz house so far in montreal, the sound is well leveled, the mood is chilled, the musicians are awesome, Kim Richardson and the pianist definitely deserves to be recognized! Even the food wasn't bad! Cozy place for a Sunday night Every Sunday is jam night, you get to see Kim sing, and some other wonderful musicians.
google avatar

Yelp
Intimate, low-ceilinged jazz "dive" down a few steps -- but not smoky, with good food and drink -- and yes, good jazz.

Brian S.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food and the music here. I think maybe it's my age, but I found the tables somewhat cramped. I also haven't tried to eat a full meal right next to a stage speaker during a performance. I think I might like to return and just have drinks or an appetizer. Glad I went, as the show was good.

Yelp
We were in Montreal on a Wednesday evening, made a last minute decision to see some live music and this venue did not disappoint (5 stars to the band, Kalmunity Jazz Project). Very tight / intimate seating, we were basically on stage with the band. Great sound and energy. good food and service. Very laid back and welcoming.

Yelp
My fiancee stayed at an Air BnB just around the corner from this awesome basement jazz club during our short sojourn in Montreal in October. We didn't make a reservation and were extremely lucky to have shown up early enough to get two seats at the bar for the show that night - a tribute to John Coltrane's A Love Supreme. It was freaking incredible - really inspired performances from all the musicians in a cozy, intimate venue that just heightened the experience. The food was also delicious and the drinks tasty (perhaps a little stingy with the whisky pour). Overall just a fantastic evening out in the plateau and definitely a highlight of our trip.

Yelp
We were in Montreal on vacation and staying at the Westin. My son is a Jazz drummer but at age 16, many of the Jazz clubs in Montreal will not let him in, even for dinner. The concierge at the Westin called the owner in the afternoon (wednesday) and he told us to stop on by. We took the Metro to Mont Royale station (could have taken Sherbrooke) and walked the 10 minutes to the club. It's a cozy, down stairs venue with a small stage, a bar and a tables scattered around the joint. The food is good from the one man kitchen. The staff was attentive, i.e. when my drink was empty I wasn't waiting more than a minute or two to get a refill. The first group was a dixieland quartet (pass the hat) and the second group came on at 9:30 was a funk band ($* cover) that brought the house down. Very fun, the band was loud but in a good way, the food was good as well as the service. This was a great place to spend our last night of vacation. We can't thank the owner enough to let us in with our son for dinner and the bands.

Yelp
Found Diese Onze while out walking in the afternoon and made a mental note of where is was. When we asked the concierge at the W hotel for a recommendation on a hip Jazz club he recommended "House" (lol 2 mins inside the door before we even got to the bar we knew House wasn't our kind of place and jumped into a cab to hunt down where we saw Diese Onze earlier in the afternoon). Diese Onze is everything you want from a jazz club. It's downstairs in the basement, it has comfy tables and chairs that you dont mind hanging out in for more than a few hours, and has super friendly staff. I reccomend grazing on the tapas menu; between the two of us we had 3 dishes and saved room for 2 deserts. Although they only made straight up instead of creamy chocolate martinis the music more than made up for it. (I've uploaded a short video clip here - http://deancollinsblog.blogspot.com/2009/10/diese-onze.html ) Met some super friendly Canadians who we got talking to about Australia and living in NY etc - all in all the night couldn't have been better.

Margot L.

Yelp
First off, I ADORE this place for their fantastic bands, cozy and cool atmosphere, and good food; however, the downfall lies in the service. I was there this Friday, and I was disappointed by how slow it was; it was a one-man show. I think it might've been the owner who was taking care of every table. I understand that it's a small venue, but one more waiter would've been perfect. Then again, maybe somebody called in sick? Who knows... The jazz joint is not as lavishly decorated as, let's say, the House of Jazz; however, it's got an authentic jazz feel to it and the food is much, much better. All in all, I'll be back again for sure.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by a friend who lived in montreal for the past 5 years. He recommended it as 'a good place to take a pretty girl'. A friend, my girlfriend and I went here last night and absolutely loved it. We showed up around 1230, happy to see that the quartet was still going strong despite apparently going on at 8:30(judging by the person belows review, sounds like most acts start pretty late) but it was perfect for us since we were looking for something to end the night with anyways. The space was fantastic, the acustics awesome. Great service and drinks(we didn't eat, so I can't comment here). Overall, I would highly recommend for a mellow jazz experience in a great part of montreal. It would probably be hard to get a big group of people(6+) a space in here, so its probably best for smaller groups. Its about a $10 cab from old montreal.

Yelp
What else can you ask for in a jazz club? It's in a basement, there is a good selection of wine and scotch, and excellent tapas served all night! Also, there is an outdoor patio in the back if the music gets too loud and you want to step outdoors for a bit. You can't go wrong!

Yelp
Heard Benjamin DesChampes and his big band here. Amazing music; outstanding food, excellent service, good sound.

Yelp
What a great cozy jazz club. Not a whole lot for vegetarians but I made do with side dishes of sauteed potatoes, sauteed veg and green salad. It was delicious and prepared/cooked perfectly. Very friendly and cheerful service.

Yelp
This was a great experience! We went on a Sunday night and the vibe was very chill--no cover. Vocal Jazz was the theme. They had a pro come out and do a set and then had a bit of an open mic. Food and prices very reasonable! Would highly recommend

Yelp
This place has jazz and you don't have those awful salads they serve at House of Jazz for a billion dollars. Okay fine I exaggerated but seriously. This is one of the best places to go, especially strange, considering the sizeable Jazz Festival we have, Montreal does actually lack jazz bars. That being said, tonight's cover was $8, they have food and drinks, a sangria that is to die for, and quality musicians! My only complaint for the evening, were a rude group of people. Coming in, the host said talkers in the back, listening fans in the front, we chose the front. There was a group on the other side of us, there for a birthday, and they were chatting through out the first set, as the group kept getting bigger and bigger, they got louder and louder. They actually had the nerve to sing Happy Birthday during the group's first ballad to the shock of everyone sitting there. They continued after singing with whistling and clapping throwing off the entire mood. Suggestions for people that just want ambient music while they are out don't go to a pretty intimate jazz bar, and sit right next to the band and distract them. Luckily for us 2nd set, the host moved their entire table and let them know that they disrupted the band.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere except the layout is strange. If you are in the back you are watching the show on a low res screen (boo). We were also told to keep it down when they were playing. Respect that there is live music but we are not at a concert, we are at a bar. Also, could have sold 3x as manu drinks to us had the service not been torturously slow.

Yelp
Good food in an intimate, casual environment. Music was great, especially the pianist. I don't recommend going on a night when they have a jam session; there are people of varying degrees of talent who come to the mic and may not be to your liking. All in all, it's a great place to go for a fun evening out.
