Phoenix’s Best Restaurant and Bar Patios for Outdoor Dining | Eater Phoenix

"For more than three decades, a Different Pointe of View’s outdoor space has enticed diners with its stunning setting. A tiered patio allows patrons to breathe in the North Mountain air and watch the sunset while eating roasted chicken and lobster bisque from chef Anthony DeMuro’s kitchen. Meals here are a splurge, which is why this spot is a popular destination for special occasions." - McConnell Quinn

The Best Classic Restaurants in Phoenix | Eater Phoenix

"For breathtaking views of the mountains, desert, and twinkling lights of Phoenix, this lovely fine dining restaurant, perched on a hilltop overlooking the city, is hard to beat. DPOV, which opened in 1982, is the longest consecutively awarded AAA Four Diamond restaurant in the Valley, which means diners can expect elegant ambiance, deferential service, and a regional American menu that runs to classics such as lobster bisque; foie gras with honey-seared pineapple, Sauternes, and brioche pain perdu (think French toast); and roasted rack of lamb with heirloom polenta, oven-cured grapes, curried carrots, and fig gastrique." - Nikki Buchanan

Best restaurant in North phoenix with a view of city and mountains. They have a great outdoor area to sit/take photos. Good place for a special occasion. Food was standard. Service was great although since we were celebrating anniversary i thought they would acknowledge it with a small card or gesture.

All smiles Over Here Phenomenal

Google
This place was Heaven. I went here for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere was superb 👌🏾The food was amazing 👏🏾 kudos to the chef for opening up my taste buds to a whole new genre. Our waitress was outstanding. She made us feel so comfortable she even offered to take pictures for us. We were even allowed to go outside on the patio and take pictures while they were preparing our food. The view was phenomenal.... If you're having any kind of special occasion, wedding, birthday, or anniversary, this is definitely the place to bring your loved one. I'm so impressed with this place. If I could give 100 stars 🌟 this place would definitely get it.

Came here for dinner and had a great meal. I think we all had steaks and they were very good and cooked well. I ordered mine medium and it came out perfectly, just the way I like it. Unfortunately, it has been a few weeks since we ate here, so can't remember all the appetizers we had, but I do remember liking all of them. And the service was fantastic, the server was really attentive. And then the view - an obvious perk and reason people come here. The restaurant offers a great hilltop view of downtown Phoenix. Grabbed a couple pics of this, wish I would've taken pics of the food also.... Overall, a great experience, really good food and drink, and a unique location.

Google
This has got to be the most beautiful, elegant restaurant i have ever been to in all my 52 years of restaurants. The service was the best ever. The waiter explained the menu to the T and also answered our menu questions, very knowledgeable. The service scenery was amazing overlooking the city from atop of the mountain the restaurant sat on. Pics are posted here. The food was the best ever. My steak was like that I have never had before. The presentation of it was 5 star 🌟 in my professional opinion. This place is now off my bucket list as it should be your too. Dint waist another minute and make your reservations today

Google
Breathtaking views. Exquisite presentation. Decadent cuisine. For a first time stay in Phoenix, visiting this restaurant is essential. I made my husband and my reservation almost two months ago, and our experience met and exceeded our expectations! We started with drinks and an informal sunset photoshoot out on the balcony like many of the other guests. We shared THE best lobster bisque we have ever had (and that’d coming from someone who travels up and down the coast of New England regularly!). We then had the rich and fluffy Gnocci and chopped Caesar (please note while we loved our salad, it is traditionally made and garnished with fried sardines. So if you aren’t a fan of a fishier Caesar then this isn’t for you). Our main courses were the Duck Breast and the daily special, Beef Short Rib. The duck was light and delicate, and the beef robust and flavorful. As shared entrees between two, the best of both worlds! We can’t go without noting the highly skilled, polite and fast-responding wait staff. Many thanks to our server Ian, a 20-year employee and in-house sommelier, for the excellent service and delightful conversation throughout the night. An unforgettable evening that we recommend to any couple visiting Phoenix or playing tourist in their own city!

Google
Absolutely LOVED everything about the experience here. The NY strip steak was the best I’ve ever had. The views at sunset are heavenly. The crème brûlée recipe hasn’t been changed in 20+ years, and for good reason. The waiter was so sweet and helped me decide between options and gave me a side-swap recommendation on his own. Incredible!!!! Highly recommend.

Google
I was looking somewhere with a good view and this was definitely a good option, food was delicious, the portions were really good enough. Starting with bread and 3 different creamy dressing was really good, they have many options of salads and appetizer. Prices are a little higher in compare with other restaurants in the same category I believe is because of the location. Good fancy atmosphere, restaurant and toilets clean. For sure I will come back. Booking in advance especially if you want to take a dinner at night to see the view.

Google
Wow. This was the best dinner I’ve ever eaten. This place was phenomenal. To start, the atmosphere was incredible. The view was breathtaking. We got the gnocchi appetizer and it was to die for. The bread basket was literally the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I also got the arugula salad which just blew me away. The salmon. Just wow. Best salmon I have ever had. This place really did what it needed to do. Austin our waiter was equally as awesome. I will one million percent come here again next time I’m in Phoenix!!!

Yelp
Came to Different Pointe of View for the first to celebrate an anniversary and had an awesome experience. Starting off, the view is amazing! The restaurant is located at the top of a mountain and has amazing views from every side. They have balconies and patios to go out on to take pictures and just chill and sip on a drink while enjoying the view. It's very peaceful and beautiful to look at. And the restaurant has a pretty upscale vibe with huge windows that let you see the landscape and PHX downtown while you eat. It's definitely a really good spot to take a date. The waiters and staff are also excellent and very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu. Our waiter gave great recommendations and even though it seemed like he was running the whole floor, it never felt like we had to ask him for something. The food here was excellent as well! Both my girlfriend and I ended up getting their steak as our entree and "the mirage" as the drink. Steak was cooked very well and was really savory and the drink tasted great. They also provide really tasty bread as an appetizer and their dessert was delicious as well. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We stayed at the Hilton Tapatío Resort and decided to try this restaurant. We made a reservation for Sunday but only 830pm was available. We were greeted and seated right away by the friendly host. The service was fantastic, Richard was very helpful and attentive. The food was amazing !! We ordered a lobster bisque, it was one of the best I had and bone marrow which was very tasty. We also had the Prime fillet which was cooked to perfection and risotto was delicious End the night with the Tahitian Vanilla Bean cream brulee. It was heavenly Ambiance was beautiful, it was a perfect night and Richard offered to take a picture of us outside with the city view. Will definitely come back !!

Yelp
This restaurant is beautiful inside and out! There are amazing views and the service is top notch. The food was delicious. I would love to come back and enjoy more items on their menu!

Yelp
This restaurant is perfect for a date night or to celebrate something extra special! The views are spectacular! You get a full city and mountain landscape. Get there early to really take it all in because the moment you step out of your car you'll want to have your camera out! The food was delicious! We had the crispy potatoes, broccolini, & the New York strip (steak was off menu and they may not have it all the time) and I recommend it all! I had the Rickarita to drink which was great! The service was superb and everyone was attentive and kind! Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
My partner and I made reservations at Diff Point of View for our anniversary, but the experience was far from celebratory. Despite specifying the occasion when booking, we were asked again upon arrival why we were there--an early indication of the restaurant's lack of attention to detail. Things only got worse from there. Diners who arrived after us were served bread well before we were, which was frustrating. We overheard our waiter chastising a busboy to bring our salad, which he fetched immediately from the back--meaning it had been ready but neglected. From the time we sat down to when our entrees finally arrived, nearly two hours had passed. As for the food: Short Rib: 2/10. It tasted like reheated beef, burnt to a crisp on the outside and cold inside. Duck: 2/10. Also very disappointing. Tartare: 6/10. This was decent, but not outstanding. Carrot Ravioli: 7/10. The best of what we had, but still not enough to redeem the experience. Overall, Diff Point of View is more gimmick than genuine dining experience. Serious fine diners should look elsewhere. We left feeling very let down on what should have been a special night.

Yelp
To take all aspects into consideration (location, food quality, ambiance, price, service), it's worth it for the entire experience. In comparison, you're going to probably spend around the same amount at other nicer restaurants (the ones with many branches and locations) but for the quality of food you're getting here makes it justifiably worth it. I had dinner with my friends on our weekend trip for total of 5 of us. The service we received was welcoming and kind; they reassured us when our food was coming. I got the pork chop and it was incredibly filling and delicious. When our server said it was the biggest entree on their menu, it's true. I would come again and try more things on their menu. Definitely a great place to go when you're visiting from out of town or you're going to be celebrating an occasion.

Yelp
Great dinner in Phoenix! We went for the view and the great food was a bonus. Bone marrow appetizer was delicious but I would skip the shrimp ceviche. It was overpowered by citrus. Filet was amazing as was the sea bass.

Yelp
This restaurant was incredible, food was divine, service was impeccable, and the view was stunning. Very romantic restaurant. Our Server Nick made us feel like royalty, genuinely so attentive, gave great selections and made our experience so fun and memorable.

Yelp
Another great meal with the best service in town! This place is a gem and very unique setting of restaurant in the Hilton resort. The view is amazing, very romantic dining experience for your special occasion. I would love to come back for the sunset dinner one day. Thank you for the great meals and amazing hospitality. Merci beaucoup.

Yelp
Amazing. Words cannot do justice to the food I had at this restaurant. At first I was nervous that this restaurant was going to be a place where I would be too nervous to even move a muscle while sitting. Thankfully our server Nash was so awesome. He answered all my specific dish questions and was sure to point my s/o and me in the right direction for our meals. We ordered the braised pork belly for an appetizer which was ‍ I ordered the Icelandic salmon for my entree and my s/o ordered the duck. The salmon I had was the best salmon I've ever had. Hands down. Don't forget to take pics of the view while you're there, I recommend having reservations for 6pm if you're eating around the fall.

Yelp
We've been wanting to try this place, so made reservations for Christmas Eve. Read the Yelp reviews, looked up the menu and "dress code". I don't like surprises! The 3 of us were seated at a table by the window with a spectacular view of the city. It was as great as expected. Our server Luis was a pro from start to finish. We started with the foie gras, and Sambuca mussels, with a nice Pinot grigio to pair with the richness. Mussels were...the best! Plump, fresh and delicious in a cream sauce. Warm bread served with the meal was excellent and served to mop up the last bits of sauce. We all ordered the days special, 12 oz. New York steak with an espresso and spiced rub crust. All 3 cooked perfectly, delicious and satisfying meat. Potato puree and haricot verts were fine. For dessert, creme brulee, lemon cheesecake and a chocolate coffee cake. All agreed the lemon cheesecake won. Service was well paced, and professional, though not friendly. No mistakes were made. Prices appropriately high for this venue. Almost all customers were dressed up for Xmas Eve, with the exception of the twenty something man boy in sweatshirt and camo baseball cap which did not come off during the meal. We had a great time, had some beautiful left over steak, and enjoyed the ambiance. Once it got dark, the view of city lights from up there made it all worthwhile. This is a special occasion place that you will remember!

Yelp
This was top three best dining experiences of my life. The service was top tier. Every need was anticipated. Our server was entertaining and knowledgeable. Everything was flavorful. The atmosphere was amazing . The views breathtaking. It literally feels like you are on top of the world.

Yelp
The views the views! Why can't more restaurants take advantage of the amazing Arizona views? This place was such an experience from the drive up to the drive out we enjoyed our visit. We wanted to get a table right near the window and requested it weeks ahead but maybe next time! It can be a little challenging finding your way up to the restaurant *hint get to the elevator to floor 4 lol. Anyway, our table still had a pretty good view. Nicholas was a nice server and recommended the Apple glazed pork chop which was delicious! Don't get full on all the bread & dip flavors like we did. Before you leave be sure to take some memorable pics on the patio with the epic view!!!!

Yelp
Different Point of View stands out as one of the best fine dining experiences in the valley. The city views are breathtaking, and the food is creatively crafted by a fantastic chef and team. We started with the melt-in-your-mouth pork belly, followed by fresh salads. The filet and chicken entrees were cooked flawlessly. And the desserts by the pastry chef were exceptional and beautifully prepared! I highly recommend this dining experience for any special occasion!
google avatar

Yelp
Get the filet. Ask for the potatoes that come with the chicken. The bread and dipping sauces are great! The view is spectacular! Service is alway 1st class.

Yelp
Recently my works Christmas party was hosted at this event. Needless to say the food and service here was phenomenal. Before I even get to the food, the view from this restaurant is insane to put it at the least. If you're looking for not just a meal but a breath taking view come here. You won't be disappointed. The bar is impeccable, my choice of drink was a bourbon and coke to drink for the night.. specifically Whistle Pig and coke. And for dinner I had the steak that was cooked to perfection. Dessert was amazing too. I chose the spiced pumpkin cheesecake. It goes without saying that this will not be my last time here :)
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic dinner experience. From the gorgeous views, the incredible service and delicious food, we could not have asked for a better dinner experience on Christmas Eve. The terrace is stunning with the best views in the valley and our server, Ian, could not have given us a better experience. He is a phenomenal server. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great overall experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down best service I've ever experienced. Food delish! Margaritas amazing, and came from the bar very quickly. And of course the view was absolutely stunning.

Yelp
The view is incredible. This is a good place for an intimate date night. The service was great, however the food didn't blow us away. It was good, but I expected more.

Yelp
My husband and I chose to celebrate our one year anniversary with a really nice dinner! Luckily a family friend recommended we make a reservation and we got blessed by an 8 pm time slot. We were staying at the Hilton Tapatio Cliffs down below and took the hotel transportation up to the restaurant around 7:15 to have drinks in the terrace bar below. Drinks were fab! I had the cactus mixed drink and my husband had the Good, Bad and the Old Fashioned which he loved. The restaurant itself is above the bar, and has an amazing view! The photos don't do it justice, especially at sunset when the city looks pink and soft in the twilight. Our server was Bob and he has worked there for 30+ years, he knew the menu and the ins and outs of everything about the restaurant. He helped us pick out good drinks with our entrees, me having a glass of Merlot and my husband had Scotch. Bob taught him the way to drink it since he's a first-timer for scotch. Food was great! Had a hiccup with my salmon being a bit undercooked and Bob addressed it immediately and brought it back nice and well cooked to my liking. For dessert we had the cheesecake which was small (not pictured). It was dense and delicious, the foam was a fun added touch. Overall, really loved the quiet and calm atmosphere, light music and slight chatter in the background. Seating was comfortable, service was great and food was amazing. Definitely a place to go to celebrate life and spend some time with the ones you love.

Yelp
I went there last month with my husband and my parents. We had a reservation, and we were seated right away. The restaurant has a glass wall so regardless of where you sit, you will get a nice view. We were there for the sunset and to have drinks and dessert. The service there was superb especially because Nash made our visit very enjoyable. He had a great sense of humor, his recommendations were spot on, and he was very attentive. We really enjoyed our visit and we would definitely come back again.

Yelp
Last night, my husband, parents, and I decided to dine out to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. The overall experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional. The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. Our server, Nicholas, provided impeccable service throughout the evening. He was attentive, efficient, and very courteous. The variety of dishes we ordered, including scallops, duck, pork tenderloin, and sea bass, were all simply outstanding. The view of the sunset was breathtaking, adding to the charm of the evening. Whether seated indoors or outdoors, every table offers a pleasant dining experience. Our entire party, including my in-laws, had a wonderful time. We are grateful for such a memorable and delightful dining experience.

Yelp
Breathtaking! Different Pointe of View definitely exceeded my expectations. The ambiance on the patio during "golden hour" gave DESERT LUXURY. The "desert oasis" cocktail enhanced our vibe while we gazed at the romantic rolling mountain views. Who doesn't love a little bourbon with a twist of lemon juice, Aperol, & Cardamaro? After enjoying the fire pit & sunset collab, it was time for us to check in for our reservation. Our waiter was knowledgeable & provided great wine suggestions to accompany our dinner selections. The garlic mussels paired with the house bread was SO WELL. I thoroughly enjoyed my spinach salad with the lemon vinaigrette. The star of the show was the sea bass & the lamb chops. The chef added small pieces of grapefruit to my dish to garnish the plate. My fiancés lamb chops were seasoned perfectly & the cornbread they paired it with was moist and flavorful. I definitely recommend this restaurant for date night, anniversary, or an engagement!

Yelp
Once in a while, you need to splurge. Enjoyed a happy birthday dinner with friend at a Different Pointe of View. It is at a Hilton Resort. Situated on top of a butte. Excellent views of the City. Shared a salad. Ordered the bacon wrapped tenderloin. The other entree served to friend was a duck dish. Food was tasty, service was excellent. You can park on top of the butte or they have a shuttle. Patio dining available. There is also a bar one floor below. A pleasant experience. Reservations are required.

Yelp
A Different Pointe of View: Where Views and Vibes Steal the Show! Dining at A Different Pointe of View was like stepping into a parallel universe where stunning views, lively conversations, and service staff with a knack for hospitality took center stage. Buckle up, folks, because this review is about to take you on a joyride! Let's start with the pros, shall we? The service staff was top-notch, treating us like the royalty we secretly believe we are. From the moment we walked in, their warm smiles and attentiveness made us feel like VIPs. Kudos to them for making our dining experience extra special! Now, let's talk about the view. Oh boy, was it breathtaking! Nestled atop a hill, this place offers panoramic vistas that could make even the staunchest city dweller appreciate nature's beauty. Trust me, you'll be reaching for your phone to snap that perfect Instagram-worthy shot! The lively buzz was another highlight. A full house packed with enthusiastic diners created an energetic atmosphere that was contagious. It's as if the entire room was buzzing with excitement, and we couldn't help but get caught up in the infectious vibe. Now, onto the not-so-great stuff. Brace yourselves, foodies, because the food didn't quite live up to the standards set by most fine dining establishments. While it wasn't terrible, it didn't leave us doing cartwheels either. Perhaps the chef could benefit from exploring new culinary horizons beyond their love for fennel. Variety is the spice of life, after all! Speaking of the chef, perhaps we don't divulge specific menu items that have been pulled, especially since there is no written list. We believe in second chances and letting them work their magic. However, it's worth mentioning that the food didn't steal the show here. But fear not, dear readers, because A Different Pointe of View has much more to offer! Unfortunately, the ambiance and decor were like an outdated outfit that didn't quite match the establishment's dress code requirements. It was a bit of a letdown, to be honest. We expected a more polished and modern setting to complement the upscale experience. Don't worry, though, because the fabulous view more than compensates for this minor shortcoming. In a nutshell, A Different Pointe of View is a restaurant where the service staff, view, and lively buzz shine brighter than the food itself. While the cuisine might not blow your taste buds away, the overall experience and breathtaking surroundings make it a memorable dining destination. So, gather your friends, bring your cameras, and get ready for a unique culinary adventure with a view that'll make your heart skip a beat. Bon appétit, my fellow food explorers!

Yelp
Let me tell you about this amazing experience! It started with the Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resorts providing transportation from our room to the restaurant, and snapping some great pictures before going in. The lounge on the 3rd floor was a perfect spot to grab a drink and play cards while waiting for our reservation. I'd highly recommend a reservation for DPoV, as walk-ins seem like a slim to none chance. Our server Nash was amazing, personable, efficient, and had great recommendations. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. Our favorites were the focaccia with the dips, our appetizers, and the dessert. The dinner entrees were still really good, but the above mentioned were unbelievable. The view is incomparable to anything, perfection.. Nash and Paul went out of their way to make sure our experience was perfect. As a travel nurse and food blogger who eats all over the United States, I am excited to rank this in the top of 3 restaurants in the U.S. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Amazing!

Yelp
Overall enjoyed our meal here. Server Luis was excellent. Funny personality. Took great care of us. Octopus and pork belly appetizer were good. My wife liked her sea bass. My son's Alfredo pasta was excellent, great flavor. My filet mignon was pretty good. Overall not amazing but good food. Bread and butter/sauces were very tasty. Can't beat the city view.

Yelp
Beautiful food, beautiful wine, beautiful service, and a beautiful view. And a truly romantic, setting to enjoy beautifully prepared and presented food.

Yelp
That maple bourbon glazed smoked pork chop was delicious! I wish I was eating it again right now. Best views in Phoenix. Great service as always. The bread they give ahead of time is always on point. I will be back for sure. Expensive but well worth it.

Joye B.

Yelp
Delicious! They had short back ribs the night we went and that was the best dish at the table. The duck was excellent as well. And, definitely get the cream brûlée! Louis was out waiter and was wonderful as well! And the view / to die for!

Yelp
Tyler and Luis provided the most exceptional service we've ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, their attention to detail and genuine care made our anniversary unforgettable. Thank you for going above and beyond to make our celebration so special!

Yelp
Two Fridays ago, my husband and I went to the Different Pointe of View to watch the sunset on the patio, which we had done plenty of times before. The host greeted us at the door and asked if we wanted a glass of wine. I said to the host, "We are just here to watch the sunset, okay; and she said, "Of course." An employee approached us and asked if we were with a company hosting the party, we said no, we were there to watch the sunset. At that point, they publicly told us we must leave now and rudely escorted us out. Customer service should be a top priority, and it is disappointing that the manager did not even remotely apologize or talk to us; being escorted out was just wrong. Looking back at this, I see that it is clear there was a miscommunication between the host and us. Only because she did not listen and just okayed us. The handling of this was unprofessional and embarrassing.
google avatar

Hailey B.

Yelp
Stunning!!! From the atmosphere, to the dishes themselves. The server was very knowledgeable and gave wonderful recommendations. Personally, It's best to go during sunset, but you get a wonderful view of town and the stars during night.

Yelp
This is my third time here and everything is so perfect. Amazing and attentive service without being too intrusive. The view is better than you see in pictures with it never being too crowded or hectic. The food is phenomenal, everything. The breads are perfect from the preparation down to the use of salt before it's sent out. I would have taken more pictures but I couldn't stop from eating :) Christian is by far the best server I've had so far

Yelp
YUM YUM YUM!! My significant other and I were very pleased with our meal here! He made the reservation weeks in advance, and I can understand why! There were a lot of celebrations around us! When we arrived, we drove up the cliff side, which was very steep! Parking was relatively easy, but ladies in heels, beware. When we got into the restaurant, there is an elevator, or you can walk up two flights of stairs. Upon arrival, we were taken straightaway to our table, which had a fantastic view of Arizona! We went outside and took a few photos. When we came back to our table, we were greeted by our gracious waiter, Christian! He was a gem, truly funny, attentive, and offered great recommendations! Our meal started with focaccia bread, two other breads, and three types of spreads, a marinara, one, a cheese, and a garlic white dip. I asked for the special, which was the tomahawk, and came with grilled asparagus and fingerling potatoes, and we also ordered a side of gnocchi! The meal was fantastic. After, we also ordered two sugarless coffees, a crème brûlée dessert and the cheesecake, per Christian's recommendations ( did not disappoint)! We truly loved our time here!

Amanda C.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal, service was world class, and views were breathtaking. My husband and I did the five course option that wasn't on the menu ($120/person and the whole table needs to do it). The flavor combos were different and unique but not too crazy. I loved the way the cocktails were very reasonably priced! Austin and staff (including Alec, the chef) we're all so attentive, friendly, personable, and with that, elevated our experience. Overall, this is a must to go and experience with family, a date, friends, etc.
google avatar

Luis H.

Yelp
The views alone were worth the price of admission. We got seated 15 minutes before our reservation which was appreciated. Service was top notch. Started out with the pork belly which was literally the best chicharrón I've ever had lol Never tried duck in my life and to me it was a game changer. Everything paired really well with each other. Just a marriage of flavors all around. If you're looking a romantic date, a nice dinner, or just beautiful views with great food this is a perfect place.

Yelp
A MUST GO!!!! The views are STUNNING- we sat inside at a corner table that had views of everything! Sunset is UNREAL here and such a romantic experience. Our server Christopher was phenomenal, had great tips on what he recommended and additionally on what to check out in the area! Started with a wine ($53 for the bottle which was perfect for dinner! Also more bang for your buck compared to the cocktails in my opn). We also got the steak which was cooked PERFECTLY- a sweet mushroom based sauce on the side with PERFECTLY COOKED ASPARAGUS (not usually a huge asparagus fan but WOW!). Watching the Sun go down and eating such a splendid meal was just an absolute perfect night. Great for dates, anniversaries, business meals, etc. WOULD GO BACK IN A HEART BEAT!!!

I would love to be writing a review of my dinner from this restaurant. Sadly, I'm writing it from the pub downstairs. This is the place they suggested we wait when we came in at 5:00 looking for a table for dinner. They assured us we could get our salads and our starters and a drink and enjoy the sunset. They took our phone number and said they would call us when our table was ready ---maybe 645 maybe seven. Good enough, we thought. We didn't actually order salads or appetizers, because we wanted to save her appetite for the scrumptious menu awaiting us upstairs. At seven - no word so we went up to check - we figured maybe they were a little backed up. Actually, it turns out they were so backed up that they couldn't seat us at all tonight. It does seem like that would've been information worthy of sharing - I was extremely surprised to learn that had we not checked, we would've been sitting here for a few more hours waiting patiently!! Now we are mad and hungry. Nice sunset though- even on an empty stomach

Yelp
Food was top notch! The salmon was the best I've ever had and their other main courses (pork chop, steak, halibut, risotto) did not disappoint either. Service was slow but we did not mind as we were busy talking. The views were fantastic!

Yelp
I recently dined at Different Pointe of View with a group of friends. It was a very special occasion, as we were celebrating one of our friend's 90th birthday! Our group made a reservation about a month in advance. I'm deducting a star because the person my friend dealt with on the phone when making the reservation was not terribly friendly or helpful. But...we all really wanted to check this restaurant out, so the reservation was eventually sorted out. The process of driving up to Different Pointe of View is part of the experience. It's a little tough to find but luckily it wasn't dark and we were all able to find it. You park at the bottom of the building and then either take the elevator or stairs to the top floor. Our table was ready when we arrived at our appointed time and we were able to sit down immediately. Luis was our waiter and he did a super job of making us feel welcome, answering questions about the food and drink menus, and making recommendations. He even got one of the serving assistants to go outside on the patio and take photos of our group. The view is outstanding! We were all very impressed with the gorgeous views from the patio. It's definitely worth a visit just to take in the view. The food was outstanding. The bread and the dipping sauces were out of this world. I thoroughly enjoyed the Faroe Island Salmon, which was beautifully presented and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, as well as the decadent chocolate torte. I would definitely return to Different Pointe of View in the future. It is a great place to go for a special occasion.

Yelp
Hands down the best dining experience I've had in Phoenix. To start the views are absolutely incredible, I highly recommend getting a table at sunset. The service was top notch, from the hostess at the front, to our attentive waiter, to the busboys who filled up our water glasses every couple of minutes; the entire team was amazing. The food though, every dish was 10/10. For starters we had the charred octopus which was so flavorful and tender. For the main I had the pork tenderloin which was perfectly cooked and the spaetzle that came with it was delicious. Truly can not recommend this place enough!

Yelp
This restaurant was such a disappointment and I would not return. My husband and I were on a double date while visiting Scottsdale and this restaurant was suggested for the views and fine dining experience. I should have been wary when the restaurant was practically empty at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. The server was an older man who was incredibly rude and chastised us for asking him questions about the specials and for ordering what he considered to be too much food--which it turned out, was not the case for 4 grown adults. The food itself was bland, underseasoned, and nothing to write home about. When we went out to the patio at the end of the evening to take some pictures, we were told that the restaurant needed to close and we could not take any pictures. There are plenty of much better dining options in the area and I don't understand the positive reviews of this place.

Yelp
Went here several months ago. They wouldn't take us for dinner without a reservation but we could order appetizers. They sent us upstairs (a different restaurant, I think) if we wanted food. When we went upstairs, one of the women attending us treated us very poorly due to not having a reservation. It was a very "you're not good enough to be here" attitude. We asked if there was a bar we could sit at and she acted disgusted that we would even think there were a bar in that establishment. The lady working with her seemed embarrassed for her behavior. We returned downstairs and it sounded like as long as we sat at a table and not outside, we could order off the regular menu. Wrong again. Not sure who can or can't order off the regular menu if you need a reservation or not. We ordered several appetizers. All I remember is that they were not very flavorful and the taco meat was kinda burnt. It's a nice view outside but maybe make sure you can get a reservation. Food may or may not be good. Ours wasn't.

Yelp
For grandma's birthday, we schlepped up the mountain for a family dinner at Different Pointe of View. We got an array of dishes, and each one was great. Seafood, duck, pasta. Perhaps the highlight was the Tomahawk steak, cooked on the bone and brought out for photos and "inspection" before they take it back to the kitchen for slicing - we got to take the bone home. Obviously, the view is the highlight of the meal, so I recommend making a reservation for sunset time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the views were spectacular. The only thing to consider is that everyone else is also there for the views, so taking a photo at just the right time can get tricky with all the people crowding on the patio. But still, everyone made it work and the photos were fantastic. If you have a birthday or other fancy event and you want to treat your group to a one-of-a-kind meal, Different Pointe of View is well worth it!

Yelp
Wow! What a fabulous place. I have been hearing how great the views were at night. Explaining and seeing are two different things! It was a last-minute decision to have drinks and dessert. So, hoping I didn't get shut down we made our way up to the restaurant. Yes! I was in luck. One of the young ladies up front was upbeat and polite. She was totally understanding and was happy to let us in 40 minutes to close. Also, with a wedding going on downstairs- it was not looking good. I was so happy to have been accommodated! Thank you to the young happy women working Saturday night 6/11/22 you made our night and the experience much better. As far as the views at night well they'll speak for themselves! Breathtaking. Great job to our server he was fast and attentive considering. I shall return for dinner or even breakfast!

Yelp
This is a difficult review because this is a favorite restaurant of mine. We have dined here many times for dinner and holiday buffets. Mother's Day Brunch buffet was a huge disappointment. We made reservations for 3 to dine on Mother's Day at 12:45. The dining room was busy but not full at the time we arrived. It became busier while we were there. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual. The food was a huge letdown. The salads were soggy and unimaginative. The cold roasted vegetables were tasty with a nice selection. The shrimp cocktail was the star of the whole buffet. It was obvious because every time we went back, there would be 2 or 3 pieces. The staff was bringing fresh bowls often. The breakfast selections were lacking. There was sausage and bacon and a plate of cold pre-made Belgian waffles. Why weren't the waffles an action station? The action station was frittatas (open faces omelets). The entrees were: tissue paper thin deli ham in a chasing dish. Roasted garlic asparagus (also served in the cold vegetables). Roasted potatoes were cold and dry and hard to eat. Airline chicken breast with orzo was dry, and nothing had any flavor. Roasted steelhead with black rice was forgettable, nothing special. The short ribs with polenta were tender and had great flavor, and the polenta was nice and creamy. The carving station had prime rib. They missed the mark by not carving the ham there as well or even doing turkey breast. The breads and pastries were all delicious (kudos on the cinnamon chip scones), except for the passion fruit macarons. They were dried out and crispy all the way through. The price was $89 p/p and with 3 cocktails, tax and tip we racked up a bill of $400. This meal was not worth it. $49 p/p more like it. I'm not sure what has happened to this restaurant and the quality that I have become accustomed to. I am always recommending this place, but I won't be doing that anymore. I would be embarrassed if I recommended this experience to someone. I hope that management sees this review and takes it seriously.

Yelp
The food and service were on point. The view was amazing, and we look forward to returning back soon.
