AVOID THE KALE CAESAR AT ALL COSTS Disappointing Experience at This Location I recently visited this Dig location and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. I ordered the kale Caesar salad, but it was inedibly salty. It tasted like I was eating a whole container of salt! I was shocked and disappointed by the excessive saltiness. The female Spanish employee who made my food at 10:50 AM was friendly, but the guy who rang me up was extremely friendly. There were a couple of other issues that made my experience even more frustrating. The music was extremely loud, making it difficult for me to hear the employee. I would suggest lowering the music volume so that customers can communicate effectively with the staff. Additionally, there were no labels on any of the food, which made it impossible for me to know what I was getting. I would strongly recommend considering labels on all food items to avoid confusion and ensure a better customer experience. I've been to several other Dig locations, but this one fell far short of my expectations. The excessively salty kale Caesar, loud music, and lack of labels have ensured that I won't be returning to this location again.

Very nice and clean place. Costumer service was great and friendly. They clearly tell you what you can get for your bowl and tell you in advice that an extra side is extra. Food is amazing fresh, clean, and healthy options. A little pricey ($15) for bowl with no side drinks. But it’s worth it.

If you are looking to eat fresh and healthy food, you should definitely check this place out! The carrots are just too good, I would visit just for them. I highly recommend trying charred chicken, Jasper Hill mac, and cheese as well. Might get a little crowded during peak hours, but it is easy to find a table otherwise. Staff here are really friendly and polite.

Pro: flavorful healthy foods. They have many choices of sides and main protein. The sauce is delightful. The restroom is clean and well maintained. Con: My only complaint is that the tofu was not hot or crispy. It would have been better taste. The atmosphere is dope and very comfortable.

Dig restaurant in NYC is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon recently, and I'm so glad I did! Out of all the cafeteria style bowl places around Columbia, this is the best I've had so far. Everything warm, seasoned well, and tasted great! Only knock is that the portion sized are smaller then some others, but thats certainly a fair trade for the better quality.

Half-satisfied, half-very-disappointed. We got a tofu sandwich which tastes good, but the side of brussel sprouts and the kale salad (not very large sadly) with salmon were very disappointing: very salty overall, the salmon was actually difficult to eat. The small brioche that comes with the salad was dry and hard, so probably not that fresh...

If eating simple is your goal, then this is your place. I think I was expecting a bit more for the price. Not many options to choose from. If you want "farm greens" to start with as your base, expect just basic salad with mint added, not worth the price you are paying. Instead, try the grains, they will fill you up more and aremore nutritious. Seating was awkward. They probably didn't have enough space to fit that many seats, yet, they do have that many seats. The distance between you and other customers seating there will be close. It is very clean and well-maintained though. The staff wasn't super helpful (and I would say even rude). When I was shocked that the farm greens was just some generic salad, I expressed my surprise to the employee, "The farm greens is just salad?!", and he just kept repeating, "You can choose other things to add later." But the other employee who was the next to help me got distracted for a good 30 seconds when it was my turn because she wanted to say hi to her friend in the back of the line, while holding my bowl in her hand.

Always my go to on busy week days! You get fast and healthy food. Love the ambiance! Came here with my friend for dinner and we had a great chat over some delicious fresh food

Isn't this beautiful? Healthy, delicious food you could happily eat every day, provided your pockets are deep enough. I like that they offer fish as a protein option for the pescas of the world, and folks tired of eating chicken and steak all the time. I always get the farro, and when I want to indulge I get the Mac and cheese--theirs is sooo good. The paper takeaway bags the food comes in are so pretty, I'd grab 2 more of them for myself before I leave the place

Out of all 4 locations I've been to this is def the worst. Came in on a Saturday at around 4pm, food looked off. Sheet tray carrots sitting in a pool of oil, salads looked neglected, whole bay leaves in the food. The guy behind the counter, was mumbling and got mad when I couldn't hear him. Saw him roll his eyes a few times, guessing he was having a bad day. The whole operation just looked like management was off duty. Very unfortunate but will probably travel to the 66th street location.

Simple few ingredient meals that are cooked well and emphasize the way we probably should be eating/cooking. Come here for good food and ideas of SIMPLE things to make at home

I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and the marinated cannellini beans, I have had this before and enjoyed it. But after a recent delivery, I have decided that the downward spiral in quality that I had experienced needed to stop. I will no longer order from this restaurant. The meat was old (brown spots throughout the lukewarm meat), and the beans were sitting in this soupy, milky-white overly minty sauce. It was inedible. A huge disappointment but it will be my last disappointment from Dig because that was my last visit. Cannot recommend.

Just ordered from Dig, my regular lunch carry out. I just noticed the carry out bowl is a lot smaller than before. Is it me or I may be dreaming? For over $15 per order, I was disappointed with the portion given. I am not even a big eater. Not sure I will order from them again. Too bad.

Overall the food is good but sometimes you can't tell the difference between things such as the charred chicken and maple chicken. Service is a bit on the slow side I think price wise when you compare it to similar places, it's a notch better than others

Name a place in Manhattan that tastes as good as this place, is healthy, and all at a low cost... I would say I'll wait, but I would be waiting for an eternity. I have yet to have a bad piece of food from this place. The meat, the veggies, the base of your choice, it's all delicious. They are always fast and friendly providing great service. This is a go to spot for me.

Good lunch staple- Lots of options for different kinds of diets (vegetarian, keto, gf, etc.,) More affordable when you download the app and order pick up. Chicken breast, mac and cheese and farro is my go to

At this location, my food was ready for me to pick up. The staff looked friendly and assisted me with my order. The food was good, filling and tasty.

Buyer beware: While the quality of the food is high, the QUANTITY is borderline criminal! A full meal (the kale Caeser salad) was hardly even an APPETIZER!! Three or four bites of food! Pic attached. I have enjoyed this place many times in the past, but this is absolutely unacceptable and has now happened to me several times. There's really no more to say here.

A friend I was with recommended this place to me based on it being a make your own health conscious easy on the go type lunch, and everything I got was delicious!

My food was really tasty and the ambience inside was really cute and aesthetic. I got the salmon with kale base, Mac and cheese and carrots. Service was really fast as well.

Let me set the stage: COVID-19 running amok, 4 of us wanted some clean eating, and there was that salmon meal that seemed to hit all of those components. Obviously, the order was to go and ordered beforehand. The transaction was seamless. The portion size was ample for the mac n cheese, salmon as the protein, roasted broccoli, kale salad and all of the requested sauces and lime wedges. Whilst eating, it occured to me that the food was only slightly above room temperature but I attributed it to the travel time from restaurant to destination chowdown. Unfortnately, I was the unlucky one that day. About an hour or two after eating this meal, it was rejected via retching and you know the rest. Luckily my dining companions were spared. Not sure if I just had a weak disposition or if they have the true stomachs of steel. I really wish that I had had a better experience but I did not. Sad face. I definitely will not order again until maybe after the pandemic ends and I can grab my own items in person.

I went to Dig last week. I had no problems with the food or the ambiance. The reason why I gave three stars is for the bad service I received. When my daughter and I arrived at the restaurant, there was nobody on the line. It took the cashier 10 minutes to finally recognize us because he and the other staff members were busy with delivery orders. Secondly, when he finally asked us for our order, his attitude was so bad. It appeared to me like I was doing him a favor by being there. Whatever happened to good customer service.

Come to this Dig often. The folks are friendly and the service is great. And they play great music, too!

Really? 6.25$ for extra steak and this is what you get, not generous at all. This cannot be that expensive! Very dissatisfied

We had just finished taking the campus tour of Columbia. My daughter was famished. No time to wait in line for the supposed great spots nearby. Instead we decided to try DIG. It was a short walk from Columbia. We walked in and immediately loved the vibe. Super clean and light and airy. Menus hang by the door to view but I was clueless. It is a healthier greener version of chipotle style build your own. The person behind the counter was soooo helpful for choosing my bowl. She was super patient and recommended a sauce that was outstanding. My daughter loved the chicken. All the spices and seasonings were phenomenal. The seating area was clean and spacious. Everything was clean! And the prices were reasonable. If I lived here, I would go to this place every day!

This spot was suggested for lunch by some co-workers/athletes we were partnering with on a project. The menu looked great but really doesn't begin to do the concept justice. The vegetables looked fresh - creatively cooked, bright, colorful, and enticing. I built a vegan bowl when I went in with the idea of getting Mac n cheese. The employees were wonderful, too. They gave GREAT recommendations and helped me choose between proteins and dressings. The elderflower lemon spritzer in a can sealed the deal! I already told my husband that "if we happen to end up in the area again" I'm going to take him here. Note: we live in NJ lmao but I'm willing to make the drive. Awesome spot!

Nice place to eat for a work/school lunch or when you want something healthy and on the go. I love the selection of vegetables, especially the roasted sweet potato. Ask for a side of the green sauce - Tastes surprisingly good on anything in your bowl.

I love that Dig offers the ultimate comfort food and has so much variety you can choose from. My go to has always been the charred chicken bowl with brown rice, roasted broccoli (or sweet potatoes) and the side of mac n cheese. I love that they offer a variety of sauces for you to choose from too, so I go with the garlic aoli and pesto just to mix things up. The portions are great and I think it's worth the $14. The food tastes super flavorful, it's fresh and never seems to disappoint. Really do like their mac and cheese and would recommend getting that as one of the sides. Their delivery service was solid and I like that it's also free (granted I wasn't too far from the actual restaurant).

Ordered for delivery on DoorDash and the food was very flavorful. The portions of greens was quite small but everything else was pretty piled in. The meatballs I probably would skip next time due to texture and it came slightly cold but I would definitely order from dig again!!

I've ordered from this place many times via UberEats. So this review is strictly for the food, and not the ambient of the restaurant. If you ask anyone that knows me, I am a very picky eater. I like good quality, and for those long study nights, that is exactly what I need to keep me going. I found the food to be appealing, so I ordered a turkey bowl with yams, salad, and a bed of rice. Other entrees I ordered from this place include a chicken bowls, and salmon bowls with similar sides. The food has always been prepared well, tasty, and gave me my much needed energy boost. The staff here has always been prompt in getting my order prepared and ready for delivery. I've never had any bad surprises with them. If you're in the Harlem area, or have an UberEats account, I recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Dig Inn is a great place for lunch. I try to come here for lunch whenever I am in the area. Its so much better than eating fast food. This place is great for vegans. I find that I really have to get here before the lunch rush. During their lunch rush the lines go out the door. Its so disappointing when that happens because I have zero patience when the line goes out the door and have to find another option for lunch. I always get their rice, mac and cheese, broccoli and their charred chicken thighs. You can pick three sides, hot or cold like, sweet potato, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, salads, plus more. Then a protein, fish, steak, white meat chicken, charred chicken thighs, meatballs, tofu. Once you get your food you have to try and find an open seat and during lunch it can get a little crazy. They recently stopped taking cash. So you have no choice but to charge your food. That is really an interesting option. I was wondering what if someone doesn't have a credit card??

Obsessed with how delicious every dish is. Wish I lived closer to one of these locations. I would come every day.

Please be warned I've been a frequent customer of the Dig Inn at Broadway and 112-113th Street since it opened - and for a couple of years it was really good and the food very fresh. Over the last year I've noticed a decline in quality at this location, especially when compared to other locations. But this past Saturday I had an experience which forever turned me off from going there anymore. I ordered online and picked up my meal to go. All was well until I bit down on something hard. I thought it might be a nut, but when I looked - it was a metal bolt/screw! I could have cracked a tooth or worse, choked! If you order at this location, please look at all your food before eating.

I ordered from this location through Doordash several times during this pandemic and never had a problem with it. I always ordered the Charred Chicken Bowl with roasted sweet potatoes and mac & cheese and was never disappointed. The food quality was amazing and fresh, good selection of protein and vegetable choices, and overall a healthy place to order from. For almost $13, you will be full and satisfied.

I have to say is the broccoli is really good here! (Was rly surprised the first bite I took) didn't know veggies could be that good! Vibe: really clean and healthy wholesome food! Food: I got the charcoal chicken with sweet potatoes and broccoli with some good sauce! Price: it's like 12$ per bowl about and once I ordered a side of broccoli that was 4$! There is good seating and sunlight !

Dig Inn is popular around here. I didn't know there were so many around. There aren't quite as many as Pret A Manger. Once eating at one, you have pretty much eaten at them all. This is the one on the Upper West Side. It has a Chipotle concept. Order the stuff at the counter. They have you go through the line picking out toppings. A bowl is about $11. The avocado might add a charge to it. Bases include brown rice and some other grains. The lettuce includes spinach and spring mix. Proteins are another of the choices. These include beef, chicken, or tofu. It has a good location. It's right on Broadway's upper reaches. Very convenient to the 1 train.

Came here to grab a quick bite for dinner with a friend. I ended up getting a custom bowl with a base and 3 sides (the vegetarian option). I got brown rice and wanted to try some of their more seasonal sides, including the "fall orchard" which included a salad of celery, apples, grapes, and candied walnuts (these nuts were so good!), the butternut squash slaw, the cauliflower with garlic and parmesan, and the garlic aioli sauce on the side. The total came out to be 11.75, which is fair for what I'd expect to pay for a quick meal option like Dig but I wish they could've filled the bowl a bit more with the sides. I really enjoyed the cauliflower, though the butternut squash slaw was meh. I feel like it could've tasted so much better if the squash was actually cooked. And just as a heads up, while they label their ingredients/allergens really clearly and also acknowledge the risk of cross contamination, I'm not sure if I'd recommend to people who have super strict gluten-free dietary restrictions. I came in aware of the risk of cross contamination and felt a bit unwell afterwards. Not blaming Dig since it was my decision to order here, but just putting my personal experience out there.

What the hell happened to the portion size of the bowls? I used to not be able to finish the whole bowl and would usually have leftovers. The delivery order I received today was a half filled bowl. I got two broccoli pieces and 4 spoonfuls of mac and cheese for my sides. I'm tired of corporate greed at every turn. Raise your prices if this is a matter of inflation but stop cheating with reducing the portion sizes. We all noticed. You just lost a customer.

What drew to this spot was that it's a place that offers food thats "farm to table". What made me like this place was because of the quality & taste of the food. MENU At the entrance, they have the paper menus available. It's quite easy to read and navigate to determine how to order here. But, it's hard to tell what those options are or look like, so as a first timer at Dig Inn, I found myself going up to counter to see the food for myself. On the menu itself, they list the farms that they get their ingredients/foods from, which was super cool. ORDERING I opted for getting my own marketbowl with a base, 2 market sides and 1 protein option. The whole process from ordering to paying at the cashier was super easy. They have all the options laid out in an organized fashion behind the glass window and you are free to pick & choose whatever you like. I love the choices that they offered. And in no time, I was at the table eating. THE BOWL I filled with bowl with carb, protein, greens, etc. Overall, it had all the essentials I needed. I felt like I was eating healthy and it was pretty filling to say the least. Everything that I had was very good, but I would particularly recommend trying the meatballs and mac & cheese. And a bonus is that they have free water on tap if you don't wish to spend money on a particular drink at the store.

So glad we stopped by today, came with the kids and we had a pleasant experience. The food quality stood out and felt healthy and clean. The price is great for the area for what you get. Service was very friendly, asked for an extra empty bowl for kids to share and had no problem. Appreciated the water and ice machine bc it was hot out and we needed to refuel. No issue with the AC today. The seating area was a bit cramp but that is expected for nyc.

The portion size has gone SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER!!! The bowl size downsized a lot, $14 can't get full at all, and two slice tofu cost $5?? Many bases also cost more, not worth it

I took a break from Dig for a year or so. I was disappointed with my recent visit. The chicken was very salty. Much more than I recall, and the portion size of sides has been reduced. Specifically the chicken took a hit in terms of portion size. I'm also baffled why the menu does not vary. This is another reason I'm taking breaks. The staff was very friendly which I do appreciate when most of these places have unhappy workers.

Never felt so disrespected at a restaurant in my life. The worker gave me so much attitude for no reason. I asked for the honey hot chicken bowl but asked if I could get the Mac and cheese replaced with rice. Worker said no. Customer service sucked.

Dig Inn is great! The food is always fresh, delicious and most of all healthy. I always end up getting the same - a herb roasted chicken marketbowl with farm greens, roasted sweet potatoes, and mac & cheese. Highly recommend it, especially the mac & cheese which is amaaaazing. The service is fast and staff is friendly. There's plenty of seating inside but beware this location is always packed. Docking one star because the lines are so bad. Def. worth making if you're not in the rush though. You can also always order for pick up online or through the app; you can collect points if you use their LevelUp feature. They recently became all cashless so you might as well!

This place needs a menu on display. Seriously, it's such a simple thing but you'd save so much time in line not having to wait for others (and yourself) to figure out what your options are. I swear each customer asks at least 3-4 questions "is this extra?" "Can I get this AND this?" Etc. Just put a menu somewhere with the guidelines and basic options. Staff is always rude here. Food was good though, but on the expensive side for the quantity you get.

Love Dig Inn. But my husband had stopped going because he'd seen flies on a few occasions. I convinced him to go back, and I went to pick up the food only to see a big fly buzzing around the kitchen and the food. As politely as possible I said - you've got to get the flies under control in here so I can convince my husband.... Before I'd finished the sentence she had handed me the bag and turned her back and walked away. Is it too much to ask that there not be flies? Disappointing. Disappointed by that response too. We were regular customers but guess we're just going to have to go somewhere else.

Great place to grab a quick & healthy bite near Columbia. The service is fast and friendly. Love the many vegan choices and bread selection of seasonal sides. The maple cauliflower is absolutely delicious!

This place is so UWS (or at least what it has become). This is a fast casual place that serves lots of healthy veggies and proteins (think the hot bar at Whole Foods but fresher and better). You can get a bowl or a soup (I got the bowl). Shockingly, the Columbia University area was missing this type of place until this place opened up a few years ago. Protein choices range from chicken, steak and meatballs. Where this place shines is the veggie sides. Sicilian cauliflower, kale with curry, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, you name it, they have it. Flavors here are bold, portions generous and prices reasonable (about 10 bucks give or take). Seating here is really tight so be prepared to either squeeze or take it to go.

I really wish I loved this place so I could write a review like the others Dig has, but I unfortunately just didn't like my bowl that much. The Mac and cheese was decent but my brown rice was dry and I didn't enjoy the meatball or the charred chicken. besides the marinara sauce poured over the meatball, neither of the meats I got had much flavor or suited my palate I guess I got all four sauces ( you can see them in my picture) because I assumed I would want a little more spice but I just overall wasn't super satisfied with my meal. It was like mildly seasoned food I could've made myself....Service was great through and the size of the bowl was good.

The food has been consistently good but lately the service (attitude) has been off. I get that it's a pandemic, everyone is understaffed, etc. but today was not one of their better days. Today they were somewhere b/t passive aggressive & openly hostile. When I'm paying $15 for a salad & I'm being nice it just doesn't feel great ...
