As a lifelong fan of Indian cuisine, I’m always on the hunt for that perfect balance of heat, spice, and—most importantly—the ultimate comfort of a rich, saucy curry. I finally checked Dil Se off my bucket list for lunch, and I can honestly say it’s my new favorite spot in Toronto. We started with the Dry Manchurian bites, which were absolutely surreal—the perfect texture and punch of flavor. For the mains, we dived into a perfectly charred Tandoori Chicken and a decadent Cashew-based Curry. If you are a "sauce person" like me, that curry is a dream come true, especially when paired with their fresh Garlic Naan. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again! What truly elevated the meal was the hospitality. Our server, Sanjeev, was fantastic—proactive, knowledgeable, and ready with great recommendations. We were treated like royalty from the moment we walked in. Dil Se delivers a certified 5-star experience that is high-quality without breaking the bank. If you’re looking for authentic flavors and a warm atmosphere, this is the place. I can’t recommend it enough!

A Truly “Dil Se” Experience! Dil Se is an absolute gem and truly deserving of its Michelin Guide recognition. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and exceptionally quick. The presentation and serving style elevated the entire dining experience. We tried the Chicken Lababdar, and it was outstanding — rich, cashew-nutty, mildly spiced yet full of depth, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Paired with their butter naan and garlic naan, it felt like authentic North Indian comfort on a plate. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was another star — juicy, succulent, and loaded with flavor. The Chilli Chicken was perfectly executed with a crisp texture and beautifully sautéed onions and bell peppers, striking the ideal balance of spice and crunch. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance make this place truly special. I’ve loved and cherished the Roncy area for over 10 years, and I’ve tried countless restaurants and cafés here. I originally ended up at this place by chance — the spot I planned to visit was either closed or permanently shut down — and it truly felt like discovering a hidden gem. With such an impressive number of reviews and high ratings, I was curious what made this place so special. The answer is simple: the food is delicious, and the service is genuinely friendly. It has the basic qualities every good restaurant should have. I had only ever tried tandoori chicken before, but the lamb chops here were outstanding. The buttered garlic naan and the house sauces served on the side were also amazing. I’m 200% willing to come back! Bonus tip: it’s surprisingly quiet during weekday lunch hours.

The food was excellent. They have a wide range of offerings. We ordered the chicken lababdar, chicken tikka masala, 2 x garlic naan bread and plain rice. The main dishes were exceptional and had a lot of depth. They were each spiced to our personal preferences. Plenty of chicken on each dish and enough sauce to cover a healthy portion of rice and to eat over the naan. Our first order of naan was good, but the second order of naan bread was super fresh and came out steaming - a stark difference. Every order should come out steaming. The hostess was ok. She sat us down, but didn't bring any menus or offer is water. We had to get up and get our own. The other three people who came to our table ( server, runner, and bus boy) were all exceptionally kind and on point. The restaurant is very clean, well lit and cozy. We ate early and had the entire front section to ourselves, which was lovely. Highly recommend.

Amazing Indian food in the heart of Downtown Toronto. The service was great overall. Polite and welcoming people. The food was great. We tried dry Manchurian, Chef's special paneer and butter naan. Everything tasted amazing and had good portion size. The prices were a little high but the taste was good. A must try indian food restaurant in downtown!

I love Indian cuisine and Dil Se offers the best variety of high quality and tasty Indian dishes. The restaurant spreads through 2 floors; main floor with the main bar and booths/tables for couples or groups. For larger group gatherings and event, there is a spacious dining area below ground with a separate bar. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I have tried different dishes on their menu and there’s not a single dish I didn’t enjoy or I wouldn’t recommend. Each dish is put together with their unique spices and flavours. And the presentation is beautifully done. I strongly recommend “Chicken Kamasutra”, “Butter Chicken”, “Shahi Paneer” and the variety of their roti, paratha, naan and kulcha.

Called I advanced reserved a place for my wife’s birthday. Experience was really awesome. Muskaan and Mannpreet helped us through the evening. Food was really good, we ordered veg vindaloo, biryani and specialty gulab jaamun was amazing Thank you for making arrangements on this special day

My entire family member liked the food and services. In general, members in my family have a different opinion as far as restaurants are concerned.

Workers and servers were sooo nice and accommodating. We had a big group of 10 come in without a reservation and they were very sweet and created a space for us in the restaurant. Interior was beautiful and the food was AMAZING! They are Michelin rated

Wow, it's a Michelin restaurant in Toronto! I have the popular 2 curry dishes . They are different than what I usually ate. I believe the curry sauce is modified . They are good. The server is very patient and nicely explain the dish. Serve very well. The restaurant is clean. There is a bar at the entrance. Decorate with mix of east and west. The special in the restaurant is they put music with Om. It is very soothing and get you enjoy the dinner

I would say we had a great experience as part of our Toronto Indian food tour at Dil Se. It's a place our local friends hadn't been to, so it was a bit of a gamble, but it turned out great. It's more in the city than the other places we tried and so it's a lot smaller inside. It was a nice place and we easily found parking nearby. As was the case all around, we order a slew of appetizers such as samosa chaat, chili paneer, paneer tikka, etc. The paneer tikka was a highlight for me. It was very nicely flavored. The samosa chaat wasn't my favorite. Other indo-chinese options were pretty good as well. Then from an entree standpoint, the paneer was quite good and daal makhani was really good. It was the best daal of the food trip. I had that rich makhani taste, but without being super-creamy somehow. It was really good. The naan, parathas, and all were decent. The service was fine as well. Very nice waiter and staff. Can't complain. Definitely a recommend.

The reviews did not disappoint. For our group of 4, we shared a butter chicken, beef bhuna, chicken biryani, naan, veggie platter and samosa channa. Great options, with some recommended from our waiter. A potential 5 star spot - the dishes were so full of flavour but we found the beef bhuna on the saltier side. My masala chai took some time to come out and when it did, it wasn't as hot. Nothing discouraging, would revisit to try other menu items.

This was honestly one of the best indian restaurants I've ever been to, food was amazing and truly traditional. I got the samosa appetizer and they served it just like they serve it in the streets of India Also the service was awesome our server Roshni was so nice and she explained things well to us, there was another male server and he was super nice as well. For sure I would recommend this place

Came here for the first time last Tuesday when I arrived in Toronto. The service was wonderful and very attentive. The food was amazing with so much flavor. Had to come back again on my last night before leaving Toronto. This time, we tried the Vegetable Briyani and the Chicken Lababdar (Chef's Special). Definitely did not disappoint. Very flavorful with the right amount of spice (you can choose mild, medium, hot). We choose medium. They drew 3 hearts since there were 3 of us. Their restaurant motto is "With Love". The ambiance is perfect, wasn't loud, and was happy to see customers dining and picking up to go orders. Very sweet customer service and flavorful food. The menu is extensive. Oh also forgot to take pictures of the momos......had the tandoori chicken momos.....never had anything like that before and unfortunately may not again unless I come back to visit Toronto. Please support this business, you won't be disappointed!

I was invited her by friends and was very pleasantly surprised. I've since returned and also ordered takeout twice. Everything I've tried has been excellent. I especially love the Lamb Saag. The service is friendly and attentive. the ambiance cosy, private and friendly.

Found out about this restaurant when I was trying to find a dinner place open till late. It was a really good find. The place had a really good ambiance and it was clean and nicely decorated. The crew was very friendly and respectful. We ordered Paneer Lababdaar, butter naan and cocktail kabob. Everything tasted amazing. Kabobs were not too oily. We relished our meal. Very happy to have a great place for dinner even a bit later at night. Thank you Dil se. We'll be back with more friends! P.S we found parking on the street since we went in a bit late at night but I can see it could be a bit challenging.

The restaurant overall is in a good location and the interior is nice. The food overall we would give 4/5, onion bhaji was good but not a lot of flavour for the onion itself. Butter chicken was on the sweeter side but the paneer tikka masala was actually spicy and delicious. The service was good but would recommend the server to try not to come around the customers so many times how their food was

We celebrated our friend's birthday at Dil Se one afternoon. The staff put on happy birthday song on the speakers, sang the song, and offered us complimentary dessert in honoring my friend. The entire celebration was touching. The veggie balls are so delicious, the onions and bell peppers being lightly fried preserved their tangy flavor. The mash soybean curry was silky delicious with the cashew cream, the mash soybean tasted like paneer but it's a vegan dish. The vegetable biryani was spiced so well and every bite was flavourful with soft rice. Above all, the service was very hospitable, warm, and kind. The restaurant was very clean and I enjoyed the light-fixture decorations. The staff was very familiar with the dishes and was able to explain them well to me. I will definitely return to Dil Se Indian Restaurant and bar again.

This is an authentic Indian restaurant with high quality, tasty food and free Wi-Fi. The weekday lunch special is a good value for money. The regular dinner menu is even better.

Amazingly tasty Indian for in the heart of High Park. I highly recommend the vegetarian appetizer platter. The prices are reasonable and our server, Roshni made wonderful recommendations and was prompt, friendly and efficient. Check them out!

Had the Chicken Karahi and it was excellent. Can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu. Service was also prompt and courteous.

We ordered a range of dishes for 2 people - veggie momos, chicken tikka, lamb curry, chicken biryani and garlic naan. The food was amazing! It was the best Indian food I've had in Canada and reminded me a lot of the restaurants I used to dine at in Mumbai while growing up there. The momos had a really unique flavour, better than some Himalayan restaurants. The chicken and lamb were spiced perfectly and super tender and juicy. The lamb gravy and naan weren't greasy at all, and I didn't feel bloated after eating here. The chutneys were also really delicious. We got medium spicy and it certainly had a good kick! I would recommend leveling down on the spice if you can't handle it. Overall, the best find I can think of and would recommend 10/10.

Our go to place for Indian. Love that it's local to my neighbourhood, but it's also legitimately so good. Lots of variety including more Manchurian/Tibetan dishes to mix things up. Great veg and meat options. Everything always delish. Portions could be bigger though! Personal faves: - chili noodles - chili fried paneer - butter chicken - tikka chicken

*delivery review* We had the vegetarian momos, mixed vegetable curry, and the paneer lababdar. We were a little surprised at the price of the rice (which isn't included with the curries), so just made our own while the order was on the way. Everything was flavourful without being heavy/oily. We will definitely order from here again!

I have to start by saying this is the BEST Indian restaurant I've ever eaten at! The food, the service, the ambiance are second to none. I was on vacation here with my husband and son. Prina-our server-was exceptional! She was friendly and helpful recommending several plates which all were delicious! She not only recommended them but also explained how they're made as did the manager/owner who came to our table several times. Everything we tried was fresh and very tasty and the prices were extremely reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

My wife and I used to love this place. The food used to be so tasty and delicious. Today we're very disappointed. No flavour in our food and the rice tasted like boiled paper. Took 45 minutes to make our order.

Placed an online order on Apr 19/23 for delivery. Called restaurant after 2 hours of waiting. I was told that the online website isn't working!?!? Odd that I received a confirmation that my order was received... NOT impressed.

Best Indian food I can remember having in Toronto, as a whole meal. I may have had a better dish here or there (or not) but I don't recall having a meal that pleased me as much as this one. I grew up in Mtl and ate at Bombay Mahal - the OG Bombay Mahal, not the one that still runs today - and was spoiled on quality. I'm also of Trinidadian descent so grew up eating a lot of Indian food. That said, I was pretty surprised at Dil Se when we ate there last night. So much so that we went and got takeout for tonight! I had the Chicken Kadai (sp?) - a dish I've never eaten before, and the palak paneer, and an eggplant dish. Each was better than the last, in no particular order. Anywhere you start, you eat a better dish, and a better one - they were all great. The paneer is the best textured and tastiest paneer I can recall having and everything else was great as well. I've only eaten 4 dishes there (also had channa samosa, which was very good!) but they all came up as impressive. We had chef's special naan and garlic cheese naan. My partner preferred the chef's special while I preferred the garlic cheese, but both were excellent. Really a solid spot - I suggest you go if you're thinking about it! Service was also good! We will be back!

The food was life changing. Our waitress helped us choose everything we ordered and we could not have been happier with her suggestions. The owner came out several times to talk with us and the overall energy was incredible. Ambiance was great as well -- very cozy spot filled with locals. Three of us ate several courses and dessert, and walked out so full for under a hundred bucks! Make sure to ask for Prina as your waitress, she's the best!!

We went here while on vacation . I must say that this is the best Indian food my family and have ever had. The flavors were amazing. The combination of taste and texture were incredible. Our server Prina recommended several dishes and hit the target every time. She was extremely pleasant and friendly. The ambiance was very quaint. The owner or manager ( not sure) came by several times asking how our food was. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a local or if your travels take you there. Prices are reasonable and the service and food are next level.

I ordered directly off their site as I think that is the best choice for the restaurant to benefit from. They called to confirm spice level and asked how many people in our party. It was ready for my timed pick up with many thanks from the owner that we chose them. Very friendly. All food was delicious including enough complimentary Gulab jamun (Indian donuts) to go around. A new favourite. Will have again and eventually take a seat in this warm looking and feeling dining room.

Excellent restaurant, with a wide range of menu across vegetarian and non vegetarian, and every option was equally excellent. The staff was really friendly and understanding. A must try!!

Done takeout from here a few times and it's now our favorite Indian in the west end. All the flavors are intense without being too spicy, each dish had different flavors and everything was excellent. I liked the variety of gluten-free options while my wife loved the garlic naan. Highly recommended!
