Luck was absolutely with us.
In August, we were traveling through the land of coffee miracles (i.e. Washington state). I have a painful distain of Starbucks and wanted to prove to myself that there were really much better coffees, GOOD coffees, that deserved recognition and appreciation. I do not believe in jumping on the bandwagon just because.....
One of my passions that trip was to bring home as many bags of dark roast coffee beans as I could justify, as long as there was room in my freezer. And, just so you know, we had just bought a gi-normous upright freezer, so the door was open, so to speak.
We happened to stop somewhere that carried this brand of coffee. Now, if I could only remember where. Probably a mom and pop coffee house, maybe the Brazilian bakery in Bellevue or Metronome Coffee in Tacoma?
Only one bag of Dillano's Peruvian coffee beans made it home with us, untasted. Yesterday, we finally opened it and filled the grinder. My biggest regret, this bag of coffee was un-labled, so now I have no clue what it is and why I chose this one. It was most likely a very dark espresso type, because that is the happy result of my first brew.
Unable to pass you a cup of coffee through your internet line, you will just have to trust me. This is amazing dark, rich, well roasted coffee. Obviously..... because I choose to give it 5 stars. Coffee wimps, this is not a coffee for you. But they do many types of roasts and beans, so perhaps a lighter one?
The nice thing is.....in spite of the many awards it has won, it is a very affordable coffee ranging between $8 to $12 a 12-ounce bag at the time of my review.
And the even nicer thing....I can order it online and enjoy it again and again.
I am looking forward to restocking with this brand. This one is a real keeper!
