Dim Sum Go Go Review - Chinatown - New York - The Infatuation

"Updated on October 11th, 2021 Dim Sum Go Go in Manhattan’s Chinatown feels more stripped down than what’s happening on weekend mornings at similar spots in the neighborhood. There are no carts roving around here, and the space is only a fraction of the size of Ping’s or Royal Seafood Restaurant. You’re not going to find the same crowded buzz at Dim Sum Go Go as you will at other legendary parlors, where tables are filled to the gills with big families receiving trays of food everywhere you look. In other words, it’s a great place to remember for a calm Thursday work lunch or a solo experience, since they offer dim sum service every day until 9pm. Alone or not, their $15.95 dim sum platter remains one of the greatest set deals in the borough. Each one comes with a kaleidoscope of steamed dumplings, and it’s a good way to try a bunch of different pieces in a single order. Supplement the set with baked pork buns or shrimp-stuffed eggplant if you’re with another person, though. Food Rundown Dim Sum Sampler Ten varieties of steamed dumplings, ranging from shrimp and pork shu mai to a pink-dyed chive dumpling (they also offer a vegetarian version for the same price). Use of the green ginger-scallion sauce liberally, as well as the super savory XO sauce, both of which automatically come with the sampler. Roast Pork Buns Sweet and syrupy pork pieces in the middle of a buttery baked bun. Each order comes with three buns, and we feel confident each person you’re eating with will want at least two. Shrimp Balls We like to pair all the steamed dumplings with a couple of fried things. Our favorite being the shrimp balls. They’re crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside." - Hannah Albertine

Where To Eat Dim Sum Outside In Chinatown

"At Dim Sum Go Go, order the dim sum sampler. It comes with 10 different types of steamed dumplings, including both meat and vegetarian options. In general, the variety at this spot is strong, with dumpling options like duck and crab in addition to the more usual suspects. They’re open every day from 11am to 7:30pm, and have a big red tent set up in front for outdoor dining." - hannah albertine

The Best Restaurants For Affordable Group Dinners

"We like Golden Unicorn and Jing Fong a lot, but we also know that we tend to lose our friends with short attention spans as soon as we walk through the door. For similarly excellent dim sum in a more low-key space, go to Dim Sum Go Go. Get one of the big round tables upstairs, and if you start to lose your easily distracted friends to the very long menu, just order a few samplers, which each have 10 types of dim sum, for the table." - team infatuation

Dim Sum Go Go - East Village Review - East Village - New York - The Infatuation

"Is there any better view than watching your table piling up with stacks of bamboo steamers full of dumplings, pork buns, and sticky rice? At Dim Sum Go Go’s second location on 1st Ave., you’ll order from a kiosk or a person at a counter, but there are still a handful of tables where you can experience bamboo basket euphoria. We prefer the , where you can bring a large group, sit at a round table, and have a proper dim sum brunch, but if you live in the East Village and wake up on a weekend morning with a burning desire for a steamy tower of roast duck dumplings, just... go go.
