Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet

We’ve been here a couple times now, on a Sunday and Saturday for lunch and it has yet to disappoint. It’s one of those places that’s reliable and feels pretty consistent, knowing you’re going to leave happy and full after eating here. The two times we've been there, theres always plenty of seating and are able to walk right in. It's a walk in and seat yourself experience and then you pay upon leaving. The staff keeps the dining area and buffet line consistently stocked and clean. They even provide hand sanitizer and gloves for you. Even when foot traffic picked up while we were there, the food was replenished quickly and didn't look picked over. Now let’s talk food...Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and like it was made with care instead of just being “buffet food" an under seasoned. The variety is also amazing, and it’s easy to build a plate for pretty much any type of diet whether you're keto, high protein, balanced, veggie-forward, vegan, etc... Some of our favorite dishes we keep coming back for: Shredded beef (SO good), Baked fish (tender and not fishy), Garlic baked chicken (wonderful crispy skin), Fried chicken, Baked kafta, Kafta kebab, Gyro meat, Roasted cauliflower, Eggplant, Greek salad, Fatoush, Kale Caesar salad, Zaatar pizza, Cheese pizza (pro tip: top it with shredded beef- a life changing buffet hack), Rice with lentils, Rice with mixed veggies. For the quality, variety and amount of food you get, this is easily one of the best deals in the city! It’s rare to find a buffet that’s both affordable and consistently this good! If I had one small wish, it would be for desserts to match how strong the rest of the food is. They’re not bad, just a little more “fine” compared to how amazing everything else is. I’ve seen another Dimassi’s (I think in Cali) that had a frozen yogurt machine and I’d LOVE to see that here because it would be the perfect finish! Make a cup and then crumble up some baklava on it! Overall we've LOVED it here and we’ll absolutely keep coming back! Great food, clean, consistent, and worth it every time!

Love all the delicious salads! Unique (hibiscus tea, tamerind and rose..) drink options as well as classic soft drinks and coffee.. Meats were all tender and tasty.. lots of condiments and fun sides.. great for people like my husband who are not sure if they like Mediterranean food because they can see and taste everything in the buffet! Atmosphere was nice, and clean. Not too busy for lunch on a week day, plenty of parking and seating.

I visited Dimassi’s at 701 E Stassney Ln in Austin last week, and had a great time diving into the Mediterranean food. I’ve tried Dimassi’s in San Antonio and Dallas before, but this branch honestly topped them all. The Mansaf with lamb was fantastic—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The spicy meatballs were another winner, and the falafel had that perfect crispy–spicy balance. I also tried the fried chicken, gyro slices, hummus, guacamole, and a mix of their salads—everything tasted fresh and satisfying. The only disappointment? They don’t serve lamb shanks on weekends anymore. If they brought that back, I’d easily give them a full 5 out of 5. Overall, delicious food, great variety, and a buffet that never lets you leave hungry.

DiMassi's Buffet. $20 all inclusive good food, salads are awesome. food is good, probably one of better and healthier buffets. good sampling of hummus and sauces. rice is top notch, full of spice and flavor. rice pudding and baklava are sweet way to end the savory experience.

Had a good experience at Dimassi’s yesterday. Food was overall good and fresh. Only recommendation is to add Indian cuisine also to the menu otherwise everything was superb . Surely be coming back again!!!

Dimassi's is my favorite buffet in town. If you enjoy Mediterranean food, the selection is varied and plentiful. It also seems healthy as well. I'm a big fan of their rice pudding and other Mediterranean dessert items. I also enjoy their rose water! Perhaps my favorite thing about Dimassi's is their friendly service. The manager and all the staff who work here are very welcoming. They really make you feel comfortable to be dining there. We take my mom here for her birthday every year, and it's always a good time to be had. This most recent visit, I forgot my mom's birthday candle, and the manager was so helpful in giving us both a candle and a lighter! (Thank you so much!!) Lastly, Dimassi's has plenty of parking and is great for groups! Our family plans to be back for many years to come!

Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet in South Austin is a gem if you're craving Middle Eastern-Mediterranean flavors. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a huge selection of fresh dishes--from creamy hummus and crisp salads to flavorful shawarma and perfectly seasoned falafel. Plus, it's the cleanest all-you-can-eat with the great price tag so bring your appetite! This is the best deal in Austin for a cuisine that is not well represented! The price is great for the variety you get, and there's virtually zero wait time. Grab a plate and dive right in with no stress, no lines. Parking is also hassle-free, which is a big plus in Austin. The staff is friendly and keeps the buffet stocked, so you can focus on enjoying the food. For dessert, they do offer a few sweets, but there's room for improvement. Dimassi's is a solid place to hang out with friends, or just fill up on delicious dishes without breaking the bank. Great place for large groups as well. I'll definitely be back! Make sure you try the Kofte Kebab, Babaganush ( EggPlant) and and shredded beef. Dont skip the salad! This is your spot for weekdays and weekend lunch or dinner !

The nearer Dimassi's gets to Houston, the better a Dimassi's tend to be. Houston Dimassi's blow away Austin Dimassi's. The Stassney Dimassi's is much better than the 183 Dimassi's. I won't try to explain any of this. Altogether a pleasant buffet dinner. A coconut cake was superior - and so was the fresh hot pita that comes right out of the oven for your dip-like dishes. Everything else was "that's nice dear". In Houston, everything is "OMG I wanna fill my tray fifteen times!" I am going to guess there are more people who really know their Middle Eastern food in Houston than in Austin. That means a) the buffet has to perform for a much more demanding and knowledgeable clientele. b) there is a much larger supply of cooks who know how to do amazing things with Middle Eastern dishes. Just a theory. Take it or leave it That said, your meal at Dimassi's Stassney will be better than those at many other competing I-35 establishments ... As you travel farther from Stassney and I-35 South, North or West, your dining options will become more interesting. Rumor has it that there are some excellent Mexican food trucks if you go East.

I sincerely love this place. It's so clean, has lots of open space, the food is fresh, the service is so kind and welcoming...and the best part of the experience as a Muslim is you don't have to miss or skip any food because it's all Halal! What is offered in the buffet is quite impressive because the entrees and choices of sides are so diverse! All of the favorites are there. Tabuleh, spiced rice, roasted chicken, fried fish, doner, kebab... And my favorite part are the tea and desserts. Endless teaaaaaaa! Which I didn't get pictures of because I was so excited about it. But trust me on this part. It's an excellent way relax after enjoying a beautiful and plentiful meal.

We've seen this place a few times over the years but just didn't try it. I'm picky about Mediterranean foods. Don't let the concept of "buffet" make you think it's like "other buffets." There are so many amazing yummy dish options. The shredded beef and lamb were my favorite and the selection of veggies all of which were cooked well and abundant thus didn't disappoint. We took our Yai Yai who is 100 years old here and her diet is very selective and food must be cooked well and not over seasoned or she can't eat it and she had zero issue and said it was yummy. The desert options were decent but not my favorite. The only one I truly like was the Balaclava.

A hankering for Mediterranean food led us to visit Dimassi's. This location appears to have been a Romano's Macaroni Grill in an earlier incarnation as it has that rustic Italian decor with stone walls inside. We stopped in with friends on a Saturday night and it was moderately busy. The buffet is one very long counter with many steam trays filled with salads, vegetables, meat and fish of all description. Food was kept hot and fresh although I think the chicken and fish tended to be overcooked. There were also an array of desserts (baklava, etc.) available after dinner. Overall it was pretty decent, maybe not the best but I think most people will find the food here to be quite satisfactory and worth a visit. Recommended.

If you've never had Mediterranean food this place gives you a lot of options to choose from. It is all you can eat for $17. The food itself is average nothing stood out as spectacular but nothing was bad. Worth going to.

Love this place! We've been here a few times, and never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and the buffet is always full of food. I love that I can still find healthy delicious options on the buffet line that meet my dietary needs. Love this place! Highly recommend! Lots of seating and nice vibe.

I have been a buffet hater my whole life because the idea of people reaching into food I will eat has terrified me. Dimassi's has cured me of that !! They supply gloves and hand sanitizer at the front and are the CLEANEST buffet I have ever been to. That being said, the food is incredible. There was not a single thing I tried there that I didn't like. The rice & chicken, goat, spicy hummus and baclava were the stars of the show for me yesterday. Service is great, everyone there is friendly. Would definitely recommend!!

My husband and I discovered this quaint little Mediterranean restaurant on William Cannon about 15 years ago. I'm not sure how long they had been open before that. They had a small but impressive buffet of Mediterranean options. I was pregnant and low and behold, all the salads became my 'cravings' along with this amazing hot tea that had cardamom. We came as often as possible while I was pregnant. I could eat my weight in their cucumber salad. Then I had a baby and all things changed. Fast forward to lots of life and moving out of Austin, we happened upon this place with the same name on Stassney. Crazy coincidence! There was no way that this was the same place. After I Googled to see pictures, it looked like the same as what I craved so many years ago. We had to try it, especially since that baby was 13 years old now. My first bite was a flashback to that time! This was the place that helped a pregnant mom satisfy her salad and tea cravings. I was so excited. We all loved it -bite after bite. So many more items were added but all of my favorites were still there. The buffet options were endless. Every time we come to Austin Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet is a must. With a large seating area, you walk in and seat yourself. You help yourself to your drinks, silverware, & plates. There are gloves for you to use and suggested but not mandatory. The buffet and tables are very clean. They are very attentive to taking plates from your table when you are done. Walk the line of the salads first. There are so many to chose from and all delicious. I can't help myself (since this is one of my favorite things) & I get a bit of all of them. That's it for a first plate and I only made it through the first section. Hummus, baba ganoush, and puddings, halva, tzatziki, garlic sauce, etc make the next section. I love how they take such pride in their dishes. They don't just throw things up on a buffet, they always beautifully decorate the dishes with spices, nuts, etc. Then come options of soup, rices, rice dishes with meats (lamb, chicken, beef), etc. There are plenty of vegetarian options as some of my favorites are the baked cauliflower that has this hint of lemon to it, baked eggplant, and falafel. The falafel isn't always the moistest but when it's good, it's great. There is gyro, fried fish, baked fish, chicken, pasta, cheese & za'atar spice pizzas, along with a freshly made hot pita bread that is delicious. Mine was so hot today, I burned my finger when I opened it. Delicious! There are so many different food options, I can't say them all. Next is your drink section. There are your sodas but then there is a sweetened saffron water which is delicious! It's also great with half saffron water and half lemonade. As I mentioned my favorite spiced hot tea is here as well. I think they must add cinnamon and cardamom as well now. Still one of my favs and it goes beautifully with the desserts. With only a few options, you don't need more. Honestly I really only eat the baklava which is flaky and syrupy. It's so perfect and I am so pleased they put such a great dessert on the buffet. I love that you can pack a to go container and if I lived here, I would do this weekly. I mean, Mediterranean food is actually even better when it's had time to become a leftover. Once done eating, you and your party go to the front doors where the cash attendant is and tell her how many in your party and then you pay. So reasonable for all the options and high quality food, drinks, and deserts. As you can tell, I am beyond pleased with this place. Anyone we bring or tell also loves this place. I wish one was in my home town.....hint hint....Las Vegas -Southwest side. Wink wink. This is by far one of our families favorite places to eat. It has become our joke that our sons favorite type of food is Mediterranean because he was given so much when he was growing. Always a pleasure and blessed to eat such wonderful dishes. My hotel was only a short drive to the restaurant and kept eyeing it as I drove by. I finally made it on a Saturday afternoon. The buffet had an extensive selection of all your Mediterranean favorites - from hummus, lamb, Greek salad to grilled chicken, lentil soup to baklava and teas! Super fresh and delicious, will definitely be back!

My family and I enjoyed our lunch very much. The bread was fresh and plentiful. Not only were there many choices they were really well seasoned and tasted great. The gyros were delicious, I would recommend they be sliced thinly. They were sliced a little too thick. The eggplant and hummus were very good. I tried a meat plate (idk the name), and it was delicious. My Syrian husband who is is very picky approved so this place didn't disappoint.

Met a friend for lunch when I was in Buda. We met here because he was wanting to try it. We'll let me say if you want outstanding Mediterranean food that covers everything, this is where you should go. I've been to Peace Bakery and Deli, which is excellent. Here you get all the possibilities and more! I have to say this is the best place to go if you're looking for outstanding Mediterranean. I will say the shredded beef was out of this world! I had it with pita, ala gyro! The choice of salads, humus, falafel etc etc. I live up north but definitely would recommend going here, especially if you're in the area. By far the best place for Mediterranean. You can get every dish you want and enjoy. This was for Stassney location. I didn't realize they were up off 183 in north Austin.

First restaurant I went to during my first visit to Texas over the holidays while visiting family. It was some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. It was authentic and buffet style. We stopped by shortly after their opening so it was a little empty but it did start to pick up with more customers. They do provide gloves for those who want to use them. The meats were very quality and I loved the large selection of hummus! The desserts were amazing as well. Will definitely be sure to stop by again during my next visit to Austin!

For a buffet, this one is the best I've been to especially for the quality and various options. Very spacious location with one side being the buffet side. Healthy options from the salad bar to the main dish. Manager (I believed) was able to accommodate our large group. Usually buffet are a missed but this is the first one the quality and taste of the food was great.

Nice atmosphere, highly suggest the lunch buffet - really good price for the amount of food you can get! So many options, plenty of vegetarian choices, and everything tastes fresh and delicious. I have come here a few times and it's never been super busy, so if you're looking for a quiet vibe with tasty Mediterranean food, Dimassi's is the place!

Just had lunch here. Excellent. A+++ Priced right for a fantastic lunch. Buffet style with so much to choose from. Healthy choices. MEDITERRANEAN BUFFET DELIGHT. Staff members are happy and helpful. Restaurant has a great atmosphere with ample seating in 3 different areas. You can have gatherings here as well. Phone ahead. Serve yourself at buffet (so much to choose from) and get your own drinks (nice selection) and have a dessert (a few specialties) This restaurant has ample parking outside as well. Thank you for all you do Dimassi's. This is a nice place to eat. A hidden gem.

I recommended this one because I like the one in Irving. There were 6 of us. Evidently it was lamb night and the cost was $7 extra per person, even though no one liked lamb and didn't touch it. We all felt ripped off.

Fresh food and pretty affordable considering drinks are included. Only complain is as you dine, cleaning person comes with cart and ask to take your plate, it's bit awkward as they stand next to you while you eat, to throw away trash from your plate (chicken bones etc,,) and pile them up, also you can see all the garbage and dirty plates next to you while you eat..

The mensaf with tabule has to be the BEST thing that will ever enter your life!! The flavor is INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS

I hate buffets. That being said, this was not your average buffet. The food was delicious and well seasoned. The quality was not diminished as a result of it being a buffet. There was a constant stream of folks cleaning, refreshing, and clearing. There was chicken made multiple ways, fish, goat, and beef options. The veggies were the star of the show as each was so well seasoned. I hate buffets, but this one is the exception to the rule. Great place for picky and/or multiple palates to satisfy. There's something here for everybody! Excellent food, friendly service and comfortable environment!

Great buffet style place. Parking is plenty, but the lot is shared with a few other restaurants. So the lot gets pretty packed. We went on a Saturday for our anniversary. Great place for a large group, plenty of seating. Place is super casual, but you may have to be a bit aggressive in line. People will come and get what they want, probably my fault. It was our first time here, and I was in awe of all the food. They had a 50' foot buffet, ran the whole length of the restaurant. Had drinks and dessert at the end. Cold drink and hot tea. This buffet was kinda pricey for us, but it was a treat to spend time with family for anniversary. We went to this location, because family was in the Austin area. We will visit the San Antonio area location. Staff were really friendly and helpful, the staff was always cleaning and refreshing the food. I recommend this place if you not sure what to eat at a Mediterranean restaurant. You will have lots of choices.

The food was very deliciously healthy and tasted so fresh! I felt such a great full filling to my stomach without feeling bloated. They have a huge variety here of Mediterranean dishes and deserts here to try. Their hot tea is one of the best tasting teas I have had since I served over in the Middle East. The ambience of this place is relaxing and they play music and have numerous TVs everywhere. There's plenty of seating for large groups or small. Prices are right for an all you can eat buffet. Plenty of parking in the private lot as well. They do accept Apple and Google pay so your payment will be secure here!

I'm in the Austin-Kyle area for a week doing some training. I think I'm pretty hard to please, so for me to leave a 5-star review really means something. I can't speak highly enough of this place. I ate so much I nearly got sick. I've eaten Mediterranean food in the Mediterranean and this brought me back to that place. I'm so happy I went. I'm in town until tomorrow and I'll be eating here for lunch tomorrow before I fly out. So delicious and the value is unmatched.

This place is the bomb! They have over 60+ options for dining in. A bunch of healthy choices available. One of my favorite all you can eat experiences in Austin, Texas. They serve everything fresh and warm, you can see as they bring the food out. The salad bar is crazy good. Desserts are also available! In love with this spot, y'all should definitely check it out, their lunch special is only $16.99 during weekdays!

The food was amazing! It was clean and the service was great too. We will certainly be back the next time we're in Austin!

No wait staff as it's a buffet. Host was polite and friendly. Buffet was exceedingly clean and had a variety of Mediterranean food to choose from. Hummus was excellent as was the rose water. Sweet section left a bit to be desired. A great deal of care is usually taken in preparing middle eastern desserts but I understand cutting corners for time in some areas is a necessity when operating a buffet style restaurant. Would've given it 5 stars if not for that and the less than stellar condition of the bathroom. The after market bidet really needs to go. It's unsanitary. Would definitely make the drive from Ft. Hood to eat there again.

There were a whole lot of food choices. The biggest buffet I have seen so far. It's seat wherever you want, eat then pay before you leave. The place was spacious and very clean - no distinctive smell. There are bus persons who clean you plates and cups afterwards and they were very pleasant. What stood out for a picky eater like me: Kale Caesar salad Rice pudding The supper fresh puffy bread The hummus, baba ganoush The kabob was a bit dry but the gyro was outstanding Drinks were included The baklava was scrumptious. Upon paying our bill, the guy mentioned that we should try the hot ginger tea with cardamom. It was heavenly!!! He even asked us to take home some more. We really had a great time here. Wish they are in Las Vegas too.

I won't add any pictures or an I'm depth review as there are several. I will say that this is order off the menu quality food served on a buffet! Love it, you can try everything and it's quite the flavor experience! I think I tried 90% of the buffet including the desserts and everything was delicious and flavorful. I highly recommend and will definitely be back again!

Very nice restaurant. Good food, friendly staff and price is slightly higher but again, it's a better buffet than the average buffet. Almost all the food options is delish. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is their meatball tasted "funky", the rice that had chicken pieces on top parts of the rice was cooked too long (hard over cooked rice) and their dolma sat in oil TOO long but the filling was DELISH. The dessert was good. Definite recommendation for good mediterranean dinner. The fish was delish Quality: A+ Service: A+ Price: $$

Brought the teens here because 1. We love Greek food and 2. They can eat! All i was after was a salad with some Tadziki and I found it! The lunch buffet is around 14.99 and it includes drinks. They have soda, coffee, cinnamon tea, and rose water. The buffet had several salads, humus, falafels, gyro, & grilled chicken which were delicious! They have a brick oven and make fresh pita! All were pretty good and the Restaurant was clean so we will put this place on repeat. See pics and a video of all the offerings:)

Weekend I went to have dinner with my family and a lady with blonde hair wearing glasses was so rude and disrespectful it was my first time to this restaurant and we asked for the menu and she didn't explain us and Looking at us with ugly faces

Dimassi's never disappoints at any of the locations, but this one was a special one. The buffet was huge, and they had a much larger selection of food and desserts at this location. The hot food was hot, the cold food was cold, and it was all done right. Nice location, nice décor, and great staff who was very attentive. Stop on by!

Sunday went for the buffet and I must say it was wonderful. A quality buffet. I went today Monday and got 1 pound of lamb meat to go. Go keto lifestyle!

Wow. Everything was so delicious! We had a great meal for two adults under $40! LOVE IT!! All of the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. The salads were so tasty. The hot pita bread... fab! Covid related: the restaurant was so clean! Every worker had a face mask. Face masks while getting food and they ask that you sanitize and use plastic gloves while getting food! We will definitely be back!!

Do yourself a favor and try this place! I'm amazed by how good everything is (and I tried pretty much everything because it's a buffet). They have flatbread constantly coming off the flames. There were 6 or 7 (I think) meat dishes that were all stellar yet diverse. The place feels very clean even though it's really big. The staff are all really nice and seem happy too.

Everything was so delicious! This place is really good if you're on a vegan diet, like me. Not only was the food great, but the employees were friendly, and the place was clean!

This place blew me away. The quality and flavors of the food here is superb. Everything is fresh and the buffet is kept immaculate. Plenty of greens to choose from as well as plenty of starches and meats as well. My buddy and I both loved mostly everything we tried! You are instructed to sit where you please once you have gone through the buffet line with your plate. Disposable gloves and hand sanitizer are both available and required before serving yourself. The buffet starts with greens and goes towards the meats at the very end. At the end you will also find the fresh pitas and pizza straight from the brick oven! Drinks and dessert are also towards the end of the buffet line. Worth saving a tiny amount of room for a piece of baklava! It was exquisite and very rich, so the portion was perfect! The employees were attentive and kind. All in all, a great find that I will be back to. For the kind of food and the quality, you will be hard pressed to find a mediterranean spot that gives you this much delicious value for your money. Give them a try!

Great value for the price! Delicious gyro meats! They have quite a bit of options! They have fresh salads, hummus, spicy hummus, many dips such as tzatziki, and a few meat options such as shredded beef and a Mediterranean meat loaf slice. The baklava was not as great but they had plenty of other options for desserts such a rice pudding and fruits! I am giving it a four out of five since I know certain dishes could have been made differently and some dishes that have been sitting there for a while like their falafels. Overall the service and staff were helpful and kind. The ambiance is casual and kept clean. I would definitely come back again.

Admittedly I do not condone buffets of any kind and try my best to avoid them. However, upon good recommendation we visited Dimassi's for lunch today. My expectations were somewhere in the middle but were quickly exceeded by the cleanliness, attentive service and great food and drink. A+ today Dimassi's! The table service was quick throughout and the attention to cleanliness on the line was unmatched. The teas (hot and cold) and desserts were also delicious. Literally every selection was prepared well. Often times we order a dish and the flavor is a bit off of what we know or are accustomed to. Not here, every dish was spot-on. If this restaurant was in my home territory, lordt, I would have an honorary parking spot.

I got to visit Dimassi's is only once before the coronavirus lockdown began and have been dying to take my husband there ever since . He and I both got our vaccinations completed, so we decided to go to the Dimassi's Buffet for our 27th anniversary lunch. We were greeted at the door and allowed to sit anywhere. Signs and personnel told us that gloves and hand sanitizer were available at the Buffet and needed to be used with every plate. Mask were also mandatory which we appreciated.We started off at one end, got sanitizer and gloves, and I tried all the different kinds of salad and hummus available! We got drinks and had a seat. The pita bread (outstanding!) was not quite ready, but as soon as it was out, I grabbed a couple for us (with yet another glove and plate). My husband got a little bit of everything he wanted to try on one plate (I'm not sure how he does that) and then had me get pita bread for him. He really enjoyed the fact that the food was not salty, yet was very tasty and well seasoned.I went back for a second round of hot foods after my plate of salads. I especially love the Dimassi's eggplant, the fried cauliflower, the chicken both baked and kebab,... I guess it would probably be easier to say what I didn't like - which was nothing! I finished off with some rice pudding (wonderfully seasoned with pistachios and cardamom) as well as some baklava. My husband had another pita bread as his dessert. Everything was perfectly cooked and so tasty! For some reason, they were almost out of fresh brewed, unsweetened iced tea when we arrived and it never got filled again, but I never told anyone either, so that's on me. Can't wait to come back again even if gloves and sanitizer and masks are necessary for a while to go!

First - super clean ! 2nd - the great variety and quality of the food ! The salads were all super freshly made and also very visually appealing. The food was cooked just right and had a great variety. The chicken was not dry, the rice was so tasty. They had plenty of selections. Even the dessert baklava was good. I'll go back again.
