Me and my friends walked into this store as Muslim women of color and were immediately greeted with a dirty look when we walked into the store. As we walked around, exploring the product selection, we were constantly eyed down and were not even welcomed, when I went to the register to buy something the lady just looked me up and down and the overall experience as just truly so unwelcoming, never in my 20 years of living in NYC have I felt so unwelcome in a shop. I do not recommend anyone to shop here.

Small market with a ton of produce, vegan/GF and organic products that appeal to the healthier folks in the neighborhood. A bit more expensive than your local grocery store, but the curated selection makes it worth the extra $$. Picked up a loaf of bread (they stock from Partybus Bakeshop up the street) and just got through my last slice... best bread I’ve had in a while.

Not so pleasant experience with the service when checking out, the woman at the register barely even glanced at me, spoke to me, or paid me any attention when I asked her a question. Definitely not worth the trip to see their goods, it is not a welcoming place as other reviews have reiterated, and you can find other items at other stores for better prices.

Wow , nothing better than a perfectly curated grocery. Sensibility and fine food . In a country where poison is bought and sold every day Dimes Market is the home for health and the more sought after treats . Almost everything used next door at the Deli . ( ALSO A BIG YUM ! ) Great energy and friendly staff . New items every week . Tons of house made specialty items . Fresh bread every day ! ( tip - the day old bread is YUM and CHEAP ) :)

Horrible service. A couple of days ago I bought a cup here as in the photo. The seller assured me that the mug is tight and that tea or coffee will not spill. I paid with a cash and they didn’t give me a check, they didn’t even ask if I needed it, but I forgot to ask, I thought there was no need. At home I checked the mug, and at the slightest revolution, all the water pours out of the mug. I was deceived. The next day I returned to the store and asked for a refund or exchange for another, because I thought that this mug was broken. However, the new seller refused to return without a receipt, which I was not given. She said that this mug is not airtight. I was deceived. I left my mail to contact me and solve this problem. However, no one wrote. I myself wrote to them in the mail and there is still no answer. I do not recommend this store.

Their dried spice selection is fantastic. Go to spot for whenever you need things like kombucha, kale, Berber spice, and Palo Santo wood.

My experience here was unpleasant and unprofessional. Employee was chatting in doorway, did not greet or step aside for entry. I picked up a package of sausage from back fridge and when I got to counter to pay I saw it had leaked fatty oil on my clothing - packaging was either ripped or something else was going on with the location it was being stored. Same employee looked at me and the situation expressionless and did not offer assistance - I had to ask directly for a napkin, which she then gave, without a word. I then asked if she could wait a moment while I went to get a different package. When I got to back fridge and picked up another package I saw that it too had leakage issues - fatty liquid all on the bottom of package. Employee at that point was at back door trying to examine the first package of sausage. I explained to her all the packages had this issue and before I could finish the sentence, she said it was just this one. In reality, she could not know this as fact because she was not the one looking at the packages in fridge, I was. And I had just picked up another leaking package. I decided at that point to take my money elsewhere. I will not be returning, and do not recommend this store.

everything is beautiful but everything is also outrageously priced ($8 for 1oz of honey crackers). good place to breakup with your partner bc they will be so outraged about the prices they won't register what's happening

Great place for fruits and vegetables eggs milk nuts Etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

I ventured downtown during pandemic to go to a funeral and had the added misfortune of visiting this place. They didn't sell plain water and upon exiting, their cute white dog blocked the way and view of a step on the sidewalk. I took a hard fall hurting my knees, twisting my ankle and cracking my phone's screen. My companion went inside the store for help. The woman gave me a large bag of ice as I laid on the sidewalk in pain. The man who was there saw me but said nothing. Just horrible. At least passersby offered to help me up. I had to suck it up to attend the funeral. This happened 3 days ago and I'm home on a nice Saturday because I'm still in pain and don't want to get worse. I hope they do something to prevent this from happening again.

On weekends, my favorite long walk circuit ends in Chinatown, where Dimes has somehow become my favorite supermarket. I'm not a big cook (as my many Yelp reviews presumably attest to), but they have a great selection of produce and small prepared foods/condiments. I've gotten into the habit of putting Diego's salsa verde on everything, and their pozole is the best soup I've had in forever (I also really like tomato basil, although obviously not as filling). My other obsession is the Medjool dates: literally all my other experiences with dates outside of Spain have ended in bitter disappointment. But these dates are so plump and flavorful, 100% worth the price. They also stock lots of my favorite toiletries (natural clay soaps, my beloved Everyday Oil), a good cheese selection, and a good variety of healthy-ish snacks and treats. I agree you can probably find a lot of this stuff cheaper somewhere else, but for a curated one-stop shop, you can't knock it.

This store is so so pricey. They have some nice things but it's not worth it for me. I'm not an expert but everything they stock that I'm familiar with could be found cheaper elsewhere.
