2-2.5 stars overall, but rounding down. I love sandwiches/wraps, and couldn't pass on an opportunity to check out a "dimeroll", which I thought used thin slices of focaccia, resulting in a different style of wrap. Unfortunately for me, the type of dimeroll I ordered didn't seem to use focaccia, AND they also forgot my pasta salad! I've seemed to have bad luck recently when it comes to incomplete take out orders. I actually checked this order before leaving, but forgot to look for the pasta salad (sighs).
In any case, onto finishing the rest of this review. They were busy but not crowded when I picked up my order around 5:30pm on a Saturday. It was about a 15-20 minute wait for takeout when I placed my order through Toast. In addition to having food to order, they also had a variety of different candies and snack items available (some unique and some not). There were also some fancy cheeses available in the refrigerated display at the deli counter (the goat cheese submerged in olive oil looked amazing). My order was mostly ready when I arrived, and I had to wait a few minutes for them to box my dessert since there was a last minute swap (the menu on their website and Toast wasn't up to date). I ended up trying:
-Italian Dimeroll (Mortadella, Salami, House Ham, Capicola, Provolone, Giardiniera, Tomato, Smoked Aioli, $14.75, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=RcfB-_UiZwgqozDuEtxevg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Ok overall. Instead of the focaccia, it seemed like they used a couple pieces of thinly toasted bread to wrap around the deli meats. The ingredients all seemed high quality and very fresh, but that was it. Also, since the bread they used as a "wrap" was dry, it scratched the roof of my mouth when taking bites. This was worth trying once, but I wouldn't get this dimeroll again.
-Strawberry Pie (w/Graham Cracker Crust, Fresh Whipped Cream): I had actually ordered a slice of their death by chocolate cake, but their online menus weren't updated. I decided to take the swap to the strawberry pie instead, but this was super disappointing! Also, I had paid $9 for the cake, which was already on the higher side price wise, and this strawberry pie was not worth $9 in my opinion. The strawberries were cooked and looked unappetizing since they lost their red color, and they were small and shriveled looking. The slice of pie was already falling apart when I picked it up, and completely fell apart in transit (I didn't bother taking a photo). The taste overall was fine, but very simple- strawberries, graham cracker crust, whipped cream. I wouldn't order this again.
I rarely complain about prices, but was really disappointed in the portion sizing here. My friend ordered their roasted cauliflower dish, and it was 5 pieces of roasted cauliflower for ~$13. They also ordered the grilled short ribs, and it was maybe two strips of short ribs for ~$16? I get inflation is happening, and the short rib pricing could be fair; however, $13 for 5 pieces of roasted cauliflower is a little too crazy for me.
Their staff was really friendly, and I'm bummed I didn't like the dimeroll I tried. I would come back if in the area and try their smoked chicken salad dimeroll, but am not in any hurry to head back. They did have a huge outdoor patio seating area that looked really nice, and indoor seating was also available. As a plus, Little Man Ice Cream is only a block away! Parking in this area can be difficult- there are street parking spots, but they are competitive to find.
