Din Tai Fung is undoubtedly Southcenter Mall's best food option - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Every ’90s kid shed a tiny tear when Rainforest Cafe closed, but that loss paved the way for Southcenter’s best food option. The large dining room gets busy, with prom groups, date nights, and folks taking the Din Tai Fun exam (a.k.a ordering via check boxes). Wait times can be epic, but you’ll be more than satisfied once those wontons and xiao long bao baskets hit the table." - Kayla Sager-Riley

For starters our server Lily made this an incredible first experience! She was so sweet, attentive, and made great recommendations I mean she even helped my boyfriend and I perfect the sauce for the Pork Xiao Long Bao. For cocktails I got the Lychee Martini and the Cucumber Gimlet, both were amazing 10/10. We had to try the infamous string beans with garlic and they were good, but I didn't quite get the hype 8/10. On the other hand, their Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao deserved all the hype, incredibly cooked 10/10. The sweet and sour pork baby back ribs were a little too sweet for our like, but cooked well 7.5/10. The shredded Kurobuta Pork fried noodles were nice and savory, but I would've liked more pork 8.5/10. The star of the show had to be their black pepper beef tenderloin, not only was it cooked incredible but the flavor is perfect 10/10. We ended off with their chocolate & mochi Xiao Long bao, so so good especially with the sweet cream for dipping! Such a great first experience, I would definitely recommend this for any type of celebration or even a date night.

I had lunch at Din Tai Fung today, and I have to say the experience was outstanding. The service was truly top-notch — our server walked us through the menu with such care and detail that even if you’ve never been here before, you’ll feel completely at ease. It almost felt like a mini history lesson in the best way possible. The food itself was incredible. Every dish came out looking beautifully presented, and the flavors lived up to the visual appeal. I honestly wished I had the stomach capacity to try everything on the menu because so many options caught my eye. My standout favorite was the short ribs — unbelievably tender and packed with flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back, not just for the food but for the whole experience. Highly recommended.

Din Tai Fung is a restaurant that consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. The food quality is outstanding, especially their famous dumplings, which are a true delight. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is generally friendly and efficient. The portions are generous, and each dish is perfectly prepared. The menu offers an interesting variety, including vegan and vegetarian options, making it accessible to different tastes and dietary preferences. In short, the combination of delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service makes Din Tai Fung a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. It's definitely an experience worth repeating!

Just completely amazing. My friend had to take thepictures of the food, after I had started eating, because I was ready to dig in. I was completely and absolutely happy with this dining experience. The food portions are enough for everyone to share. I just wish we had something like this nearby, where I live, but I guess I would just have to move to Washington State 😂

Dad and I went to Din Tai Fung at Southcenter (south Seattle) for lunch. The only downside is the restaurant was too dark and I had to use the flashlight on my phone to see the menu. The servers were sweet, friendly and lifted my spirit. We ate: Chicken Xiao Long Bao (The handcrafted soup dumplings with their signature 18 folds); Fried Rice with California-grown rice and cage-free eggs and chicken; String Beans with garlic; Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao. It was delicious!

I was advised to come here by my daughter in law for good quality and service. I am not too big on Asian foods by my granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed it because her favorite choices are here. That was well worth coming. The menu pricing was a bit steep in my opinion for lunch time servings. The serving sizes were more than adequate as we took home the remaining items. The facility was clean, neat and orderly. The waiter was prompt and pleasant while explaining menu items. The food prep was fairly quick despite the busy crowd. All in, it was good. Come and enjoy.

TLDR; never disappoints. Good quality is consistent and had lots of really good vegetarian options too. We came in for a late lunch and put ourselves on a waitlist enroute - highly recommend this because it saved us 30 minutes of waiting at the restaurant. Between the two of us we ordered the pork dumplings, spicy vegan wontons, garlic green beans and the chocolate buns. Everything was exceptionally good, as it always it. The spicy wontons are my all time favorite, but the chocolate buns come a close second. The filling inside both is really really flavourful. Service here is always warm too. The waiters are very conversational and alert. There was a shift change while we were eating, and even our new waiter took the time to introduce himself and make sure that transition was smooth. It sounds like such a small thing but it really goes to show how much attention they pay to the service.
