Tiny snack cart with a walk-up window offering hearty subs made with plant-based ingredients.
"This Belmont food cart continues to serve its hefty vegan sandwiches, like the impressive Vegball Sub that comes smothered in marinara sauce. Open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays, Dinger’s Deli offers online ordering, in addition to Doordash and Postmates delivery. Specials, including grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup, are announced regularly on Facebook and Instagram." - Waz Wu
"Dinger’s Deli, a vegan food cart famous for its sandwiches packed with house-made faux meats, has permanently closed on Belmont after a successful three-year run. Known for its unique approach of using house-made fillings like wheat-based ham and salami, garlic-fennel veggie meatballs, and pulled jackfruit, Dinger’s Deli created vegan versions of popular sandwiches such as meatball marinara subs, cheesesteaks, French dips, and Cuban sandwiches. The cart gained popularity on social media for its sandwich cross-section shots and playful use of emojis. During the pandemic, it offered takeout and delivery and continued to sell out regularly. Owner Brian Steadham decided to close the cart to take a break and explore new vegan food projects. The cart was a significant part of the local vegan community, and there are hopes to pass it on to another vegan business." - Waz Wu
