The 14 Best Lunch Spots Across San Francisco

"The Ocean Avenue location of mini-chain Dinosaurs makes for a great grab-and-go lunch option, with affordable Vietnamese iced coffee, avocado milkshakes, spring rolls, and a good-sized banh mi stuffed with shaking beef, lemongrass pork, or spicy tuna." - Dianne de Guzman

"A favorite for sandwich-seekers on Ocean Avenue, Dinosaurs keeps two vegetarian options on its menu at all times. For $13.75 diners can score crispy tofu or roasted portobello banh mi at any of the business’ three San Francisco locations. Plus, the $13 tofu and taro spring rolls, complete with shreds of jicama and rice noodle, make a choice vegetarian side." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri

The Best Restaurants on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco - Eater SF

"Sure, you can grab a banh mi for less than 10 bucks from the Dinosaur’s in the Castro, but sandwich insiders are here to say that the Ocean Avenue location is the cutest — tucked away in its own little sandwich cottage with a Dutch door that swings open. Step right up for sandwiches stuffed with roasted pork, pate, grilled chicken, or even meatballs, and wash it down with Vietnamese iced coffee." - Becky Duffett

The Best Takeout in SF - Eater SF

"I decided to try Dinosaurs, an affordable sandwich shop with a few locations across the city, including one on Ocean Ave. It emerges that it’s a tiny shop, tagged onto the corner of a building, with a window swinging open to the street. I got the lemongrass grilled pork, and for all of $8.40, it was a good sandwich. A nice baguette, crusty on the outside, tender on the inside, stuffed with caramelized pork, pickled veggies, bright herbs, and a swipe of mayo. Wash it down with a Vietnamese iced coffee, and it’s a fresh and caffeinating lunch." - Eater Staff

Google
Such a cute storefront for Vietnamese food. It’s right next to my church and I thought I’d try it today. My husband and I shared the grilled chicken and shaking beef bahn mi sandwiches. And boy were they fire!!! The meat was high quality and tender and juicy. The bread they used was amazing too, fresh and crunchy. You could tell all the ingredients they used were of high quality. Service was quick and staff were really nice. Highly recommend for a lunch stop!!

Google
Really cute sandwich shop in a very cute neighborhood. Heard about this place on IG and the sandwiches sounded so good we had to try them. Upon arrival we thought it was an actual sit down restaurant but it was kind of like window service. The cashier was really nice and patient as I asked a million questions. I ordered the Kare Kare sandwich which was AMAZING! I could have eaten 2more. I also got the watermelon lychee smoothie and that was refreshing and the shrimp spring rolls. That was different because it had apples in it but it balanced it out to my surprise. Right next to the restaurant was a sitting area with plenty or tables and chairs. On a nice day it’s worth it to sit and enjoy your food in a nice area. I really enjoyed this place and want to come again. If you are in the area definitely pull up On them.

This banh mi was absolutely delicious. Great sandwich spot! I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Giant flavorful bahn mi’s with fresh ingredients. It’s big enough to split with two people but it was so good I devoured it myself in one sitting. My only gripe, the bread isn’t that soft. But that’s what happens when you eat a bahn mi sandwich sometimes. They have really great spring rolls too. Definitely worth the drive to lakeside.

Google
It's a pretty decent banh mi for SF. I rate banh mi harsher because it's one of my favorite foods. It doesn't really come close to the banh mi shops in San Jose. The meats in this sandwich don't have all the traditional meat in there. The flavor is still really good though. I wish there was more radish to carrot ratio. The bread was ok and I'm grateful it didn't tear up the roof of my mouth.

Google
Some friends recommended this place to us. If you don’t know the place is there you are going to miss it. The sandwiches are amazing and the rolls too. The beef one is my favorite. Pork one is good too. The service is not good but the food and the price is worth it. You can pick the food up or use the tables in the park.

Google
Came here after a doc visit. Food is great. Many gluten free options. Springs rolls. They were able to customise my order and omit shrimp per my request as well. I added myshrooms to the chicken spring roll. Hearty portions! The thai coffee has dairy free option add on. Its a serious kick. Jolted. On a weekday this place was fast. Took about 7min from order to be ready. Next to a nice community garden. Got to see some hummingbirds feeding and singing.

Google
First time having a banh mi and I was very impressed. I went towards closing and I was surprised with how fresh the bread tasted. It had a great crunch and wasn’t too bready. The Special has three kinds of pork and they each add something to the sandwich. The roasted pork gave it a great bite a depth of flavor while the pork pate seeped into the bread and had a bit of sweetness to it. The incision of the pickled vegetables brings the entire experience together by breaking through the fatty richness of the pork. Dinosaurs Sandwiches is amazing and definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
Absolutely obsessed with this hidden gem! Or should I say I'm obsessed with their lemongrass chicken Bahn mi since I can't stop ordering it. I don't know how they do it but I'm absolutely obsessed with this flavor packed sandwich. I get it every time I'm about to head towards Golden Gate Park as it makes the best picnic meal

Yelp
Updating my review since I came here over the weekend and dang so crazy how expensive this place has gotten. We ordered the pork with extra pate and chicken banh mi. The pork was sadly not seasoned and lacked flavor. The portion of meat was lacking as well. The chicken banh mi didn't taste like it had any lemongrass taste (and yes I know what lemongrass tastes like!). It just seemed like a standard grilled chicken with the toppings you'd have in a banh mi. I had to drown my sandwich in sriracha to enjoy it :/ So sad that this establishment that is nostalgic to me has gone downhill.

Yelp
I find myself coming here more for convenience vs my desire for a Dinosaurs bahn mi. I think their sandwiches satisfy my craving for a bahn mi, but it isn't a spectacular one as well. it's just hard to justify paying so much for a bahn mi.

Yelp
A friend was grabbing sandwiches from Dinosaurs for the group of us, so I ordered the crispy tofu sandwich. I appreciate that Dinosaurs has more than one vegetarian banh mi option. It contained thin sliced carrot pieces, tofu, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno, and there was a sauce that seemed like hoisin sauce but spicier on the side. The sandwich is pretty large. I thought the crispy tofu bits were fun texture-wise and were savory, I didn't find the sandwich too spicy (as someone who can only handle a mild level of spice), but the main downside was that the bread was a little too hard. Overall, pretty good banh mi.

Yelp
I am always in search of good Banh Mi and I ran into this place. I got the special Vietnamese sandwich which had fresh ingredients and included a fresh baguette. It's a take out only spot. I also enjoyed a rare find in the city of a Canadian version of Crush Cream Soda. Go to the place that you order at the door, try the different Vietnamese sandwiches at Dinosaur

Yelp
Came to Dinosaurs at 1215pm on a Tuesday and it was pretty busy. It's just a window at which you order and pick up your order, right next to the outdoor seating/play area and a pilates place. Ordering is quick and easy, and most people were waiting directly outside for their order. We got our order around 15-20 minutes after placing the order, and it looks like a pretty small space inside with just one person making orders and another taking orders. The Special ($14.75): this is roasted pork, pork loaf, and pate, in addition to the default pickled carrots and daikon, fresh cucumber, cilantro, jalapenos, and mayo. The banh mi comes on excellent bread, crunchy but not hurt your mouth crust, with soft and fluffy bread that held up even the day after without getting stale. There's a LOT of carrot pickle but not as much daikon or cucumber which is a little unfortunate, but the rest of the sandwich makes up for it. There's a generous amout of meat, the pate has a distinctly umami Maggi sauce taste, and theres just enough mayo without being overwhelming. It's big enough to be two meals or one large meal, though obviously the bread is best fresh. Definitely a great lunch if you have a moment to wait for the sandwich to be made :)

Yelp
OMG let me very clear - we have AMAZING Bahn Mi sandwiches in the south bay but it's opposite of where I live when I have to come into SF so we decided to try this place based on other Yelp reviews and THANK YOU Yelpers.... it was SO GOOD and I LOVE how you can get something unusual and different than the ones in SJ. First let me also point out that we passed this tiny place the first time - didn't realize it was next to this little park area and attached to another business. It literally is just a DOOR that's open - with a sign. You order at the door and get it to go. You can eat at the park or just take it home. And they really are closest to Juniper Serra on Ocean - so in case you miss it... :) Ok on to the FOOD and DRINKS! They had a special - the Kare Kare Bahn Mi - and if you like that Kare Kare peanut taste - this does NOT disappoint. I gave hubby a "bite" in which he pretty much inhaled about 1/4 of my sandwich!! SO MUCH flavor - so different - so GOOD. And the bread - was crunchy on the outside - not "flaky" where you get crumbs everywhere and soft on the inside. Pickled veggies - FRESH FRESH FRESH and so GOOD... This will definitely be my go to for SURE!! Had to try their Shaking Beef Bahn Mi - my dad and middle tried that and LOVED it - the flavors were so GOOD - lots of deliciousness with the beef and again perfect ratio with pickled veggies. We did order with pate as well, it doesn't come with it so we ordered it added in and middle said it totally upped the flavor and sandwich. HIGHLY recommend. Beef was so juicy and tender and had so much flavor!! Hubby had the grilled chicken and he devoured the whole thing so fast. He's the one that was the most skeptical that the sandwich won't be as good as what we get in SJ but he was pleasantly surprised. We added pate to his as well and he said it definitely was at the same level as what we get in SJ - but I think he still loves the garlic bread Bahn Mi we get in SJ so that's a a bit of a skewed comparison... :) We also ordered their shrimp and pork roll with their peanut sauce! OMG - the shrimp was HUGE and tender and their peanut sauce... SO GOOD... Next time we'll get two orders of that! So we don't have to share! I completely forgot to take a pic of our drinks - we got the watermelon lychee smoothie and the mango mint smoothie! Both were DELICIOUS, refreshing and SO GOOD. The watermelon lychee had bits of lychee on the bottom so you had to drink it with the big straw but they provide the bio degradable ones which is nice. The Mango Mint smoothie was so flavorful - I think the mint enhances the mango flavor. This is a hidden gem and a GREAT find. Will definitely be coming back - they have steady customers coming in and out and the wait for the sandwiches is so worth it. I really want to try their special but how will I eat both the Kare Kare and their special??

Yelp
Been wanting to try their banh mi for while, so glad I was able to finally try it out! We ordered the The Special Banh Mi and the Kare Kare Banh Mi. The special banh mi includes roasted pork, pork loaf, and pate, and I thought this banh mi was very average. Nothing stood out for this banh mi, and I personally think you can get a better banh mi at other places in the city. However, their Kare Kare Banh mi was really good! If you love the Kare Kare filipino dish, you'll love this banh mi. It comes with a side of bagoong (shrimp paste) for you to eat with this banh mi. I'd come back again just to order their Kare Kare banh mi! It's very rich and deep in flavor compared to your standard Vietnamese banh mi. We called in to pick up our orders since I heard the wait time can get quite long. It was pretty quick to pick up our order! The banh mi prices here are bit pricy, but I definitely recommend trying their Kare Kare banh mi.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed by this. Ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and this is how full it came...disappointing for a $7 cup of coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Value is low for $16 a sandwich. The price has gone up a lot and is nothing spectacular. The sandwich itself is not too big either. I don't think I will go again soon..... taste of it is average.
google avatar

Yelp
Super well hidden! It's a tiny little shop at the end of a commercial row. Walked by and it looked so cute. Had the pork and shrimp spring rolls and they were delicious. The peanut sauce was amazing. There is a little outdoor seating area right next to it. Will be coming back for the sandwiches soon.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite Vietnamese sandwich spots! Their sandwiches have a great ingredient to bread ratio (as you can see by my photo) with the delicious crunchy yet soft bread you expect from a solid Vietnamese sandwich. Lots of outdoor seating but also great as takeout. I normally order "the special" sandwich but order only if you're into pork pate and fancy pork loaf (which I am). I would also recommend their pork and shrimp spring rolls. I haven't tried their smoothies but lots of reviews say their drinks are amazing. Will give it a try on my next visit!

Yelp
This is definitely a great spot for banh mi, and it's easy to see why it's been one of the most popular chain restaurants for a while. The sandwiches are consistently tasty, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. However, I think there are better options out there, especially if you're looking for more authentic or budget-friendly choices. My biggest drawback with this place is the pricing--it's on the higher side for what you get. While the quality is good, I can't help but feel that the value doesn't quite match the cost. Still, if convenience and consistency are what you're after, this is a solid choice.
google avatar

Kevin Y.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get a bahn mi in SF. Big portions, stuffed very full. Fresh ingredients and really good pate. My only complaint is that it's a little pricey compared to some of the more authentic hole in the wall places, but still not a bad deal compared to how expensive this city is.
google avatar

Boca G.

Yelp
I loooovedd the food. Stopped by yesterday night actually surprised me with the friendly staff quickly getting my order taken in. It was empty so it was nice. The food was fast and to my opinion , good amount of food for the price. The bun did had less meat but still was pretty good on the flavor. The mango mint smoothie was super delicious and the shrimp and beef spring roll as well. Hope to stop by sometime soon again. Do recommend.

Yelp
If you like Bahn mi's, this is the place for you. Giant flavorful sandwiches with fresh ingredients. It's big enough to split with two people but it was so good I devoured it myself in one sitting. My only gripe, the bread isn't that soft. It can cut the roof of your mouth while eating it at some points. But that's what happens when you eat a sandwich. They have really great spring rolls too. Definitely worth the drive to lakeside.

Yelp
I've been here about 3x. This place is really popular. On the weekends the line is super long. It's take out only. There is an outdoor seating area (use to be a parking lot) right next to it. It's a nice big seating area and kid friendly. If it's busy be prepared to wait 10mins or so for your sandwich. I think there's only 1 person making everything. I ordered the roasted portobello. It was really tasty and good. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture before I started eating it. Also, the Vietnamese iced coffee is really good here. I would recommend getting one! The sandwiches seem to be a big hit with people but this place wouldn't be my first choice.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
I love getting banh mi here! I always go for the crispy tofu, and I loveee the flavor and the texture of the bread. Perfectly crispy and delicious! It's a booth for takeout only, making it a great quick stop for a simple bite. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Came here specifically to try the kare-kare banh mi. I ordered it with extra pate and mayonnaise and it did not not disappoint! Though the kare-kare flavor was very suble, the bagoong they gave on the side definitely tied everything together. It is on the pricier side, but I don't mind spending a little more for good food if it makes my belly happy.
google avatar

Hope D.

Yelp
There is no indoor seating, you just walk up to the window to order. I typically order over the phone and pick up. They always get my order right. The banh mi, viet coffee and avocado shakes are good!
google avatar

Madel R.

Yelp
I can never resist a good sandwich and Dinosaurs is one of my absolute favorites. Anytime my husband suggests it, it's an instant yes from me! Literally a hole in the wall Vietnamese sandwhich spot. Walk up to order or call whatever you like. The service is always quick and friendly. I usually go for the shaking beef sandwich with a Thai iced tea, and sometimes I'll add grilled chicken spring rolls with peanut sauce--delicious! On sunny days, when we have time we'd eat at the spot next to there is outdoor seating. Street parking only on Ocean Ave. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Quick bite for Vietnamese sandwich or snacks. Meat and veggie options available. Location is next to an open sitting area called Lakeside Landing.

Yelp
This place is great! I live in Southern California, but my friend lives around here and took me here while visiting because it's her go-to spot. I can definitely see why! It's a casual lunch spot with a couple of tables outside. It's not the most "authentic" so if you're looking for that I would go elsewhere. I appreciate that they have a modern twist on a classic though. There's plenty of parking and the wait wasn't too long. I tried and loved their crispy tofu option and my boyfriend really enjoyed the shaking beef. We scarfed down our sandwiches because we were eating them post-hike, so no pictures but I would definitely recommend if you're in the area and the menu looks appealing to your tastes.

Yelp
Order: * Grilled Pork with Pâté * Grilled Chicken with Pâté * Pork and Shrimp Spring Rolls * Vietnamese Iced Coffee * Mango Mint Smoothie Pros: * Bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. * Meat was seasoned reasonably well and there was slightly more than average amount of pate, which admittedly doesn't say a lot since most places don't give much, but still enough to notice. * The added mayo or aioli added that needed moisture often missing from banh mis. * Veggies all tasted fresh and crisp * Spring rolls had an artisanal feel. * Iced Coffee was surprisingly good, probably the best I've ever had with a couple of unique flavor notes. I'd make a detour just to get that beverage. * Likewise, the mango mint smoothie was dead-on. Both I would like to get again. Cons: * I think there were about four to five people in front of me and my order took about 20 minutes. * A couple pieces of pork and chicken were on the tough side and I wasn't able to bite through. * The flavor of the grilled chicken paled in comparison to the pork. * The mayo/aioli could have been flavored more if it even was. Maybe blend in some garlic? * The spring rolls were wrapped a bit too loose for me and fell apart as I was eating it. Comments: * 4.5 stars. I think the sandwiches were very solid but could be elevated just a bit more. The beverages were great. They could almost start a café just selling beverages.

Yelp
prices have gotten insane. Place used to be good, and now its 14 dollars for 2 Veggi spring rolls??? I wish I could afford this, but they've outpriced me, unfortunately.

Yelp
Dinosaurs Vietnamese sandwiches was one of the best sandwich shops around! It was a great value. Ingredients are fresh and delicious! I have had every sandwich! This afternoon was my last visit. The prices have increased to the point that I will go elsewhere. The sandwiches are at $15 and 3 spring rolls are over $13. Two small sandwiches, One drink, and spring rolls for over $50? Sorry... This has been my go-to place for years. I would rather drive down the peninsula and get a huge sandwich.
google avatar

Elisa S.

Yelp
Rating 3.5/5 Dinosaurs serves classic Vietnamese sandwiches each ranging from $12-15 without add-ons. They also sell spring rolls with your choice of sauces (peanut, hoisin, & vegan fish sauce) +$0.75 for extra along drinks like Thai iced tea, avocado shakes, and smoothies like watermelon/litchi and mango/mint combinations. I ordered their special combination pork and it came with all the fixings. Bread was a bit thick but the taste was good. The wait was about 15 minutes for my food and the service was prompt. Call and order ahead if you don't prefer waiting long. Overall, I do prefer some other banh mi shops in the city, but I'd come back if I'm nearby the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I absolutely love the food, been a regular here for almost a decade now, ordering at least 6 to 8 times a month, sometimes more. But the prices have just climbed out of control. I know we've had a lot of inflation since covid, but officially, it's around 20% according to the federal government, and the prices for sandwiches have basically doubled. I ordered a shaking beef double meet today and it was just over $20... For a single sandwich. And a base sandwich is over $15 now with tax, which has very little meat. The quality is decent, but it's not a sit down fine dining quality. For what this is, $10 regular and $15 for double meat, with tax, is fair. At this point, I'd rather go to a good sit down restaurant and pay $5 more for much higher quality. To the Owner, please get these prices under control. The price inflation just makes it really hard to justify, and I cut back from 6 to 8 times a month, to once a month at most after the first bid price increase, and I can't justify $20 for this sandwich, so you've lost a loyal customer.
google avatar

Marjo G.

Yelp
Dinosaurs has been a long time local favorite. It's a tiny but mighty place! Many orders are placed on the phone in addition to the expected lunch rush. I came here on a Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm and I received my sandwich at around 1:25 pm. I ordered the: + Special. At first I was skeptical because I'm usually a grilled pork girly, BUT this was sooo good. The pate and slow roasted pork are just a match made in heaven. You can eat your sandwich at the park right next to Dinosaurs. Plenty of tables and seating! There are plenty metered parking spots available.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
Spent $20 on the special and an avocado shake. The Special ($13.50) comes with roast pork (xa xiu), pork loaf (cha lua), pickled veggies, cilantro, jalapeño, cucumber, pate, and soy sauce. The sandwich was packed. The bread was good - crispy yet soft. I heard a few microwave beeps which was prob to heat up the meat. Didn't bother me much but an FYI. Avocado shake ($6) was kinda small and tasted more like creamer than avocado. I wanted to love it here, I really did. I am aware that I can't compare it to banh mi in San Jose in terms of both value and taste. But I just can't help but to do it. The place is decent but I would not consider it to be on the top of my list. Between this place and Banh Mi Love by Stonestown, I'd choose Banh Mi Love bc it's cheaper by a few bucks. But they'd sit similar in ranking for me.
google avatar

Joyce Z.

Yelp
Best banh mi in the city in my personal opinion. "The Special" is your classic cold cut combo with perfect ratios of all condiments and a ton of meat. Their grilled pork is my alternative go-to when I'm not feeling cold cut, but I still ask them to add pate to it because their pate is oh-so delish. Their fresh spring rolls are always a delight and super refreshing and the peanut sauce is perfect. Iced Vietnamese Coffee is nice and strong but I ask for extra condensed milk to sweeten it up a bit more to my liking. Overall, one of my default neighborhood lunch spots for when I want something "light." I've definitely learned to call in to order over the years because they get really busy and can take exceptionally long, but it's well worth the wait, I promise.

Yelp
I previously tried Dinosaurs Vitamenese Sandwiches but in a different location a couple of years ago. This was my first time at this location. I must say it was easy to find, though it is a very small place. There is an area with tables and chairs/benches next to it. I believe that area does not belong to Dinosaurs but it works out perfectly. There was a short line but I was assisted within a few minutes. The menu was posted outside so it was easy to check as I waited in line. I bought the crispy tofu banh mi, the mushroom banh mi, and shrimp spring rolls. My favorite was the crispy tofu. The bread in general is so fresh and crispy. I love it! However, I feel like the sandwiches were missing something...perhaps more tofu. I was still hungry after finishing the banh mi. My husband liked the mushroom banh me a lot. The shrimp spring rolls were so good! There were three of them in one order so that worked out great! I think the price is fair, compared to other places. Again, the bread is amazing! I need to find out where all these places get their bread from. Perhaps they make it themselves? I would not be surprised. I would happily go back in the future if I am in the area.

Yelp
WOW this place is so good! I called in to order takeout on a Monday afternoon around 4PM and they said I could come pick it up in 10 minutes! I got the shaking beef banh mi and it was packed with meat and pickled carrot+daikon and I would definitely come back again. There was a nice balance of the ratio of mayo to filling. I also got a watermelon lychee smoothie which was refreshing.
google avatar

Evelyn M.

Yelp
too many good things to say about this place! I have tried almost about everything on this menu and it is all flavorful &filling! A very popular spot during the afternoon lunch hour so I do recommend calling ahead and placing an order. My personal favorite is the chicken & shrimp spring rolls w/the peanut sauce or the shaking beef banh mi!
google avatar

Monica D.

Yelp
There was not much advertising on the outside, but once I saw the half door/window open, figured ok, this has to be it. I ordered the grilled pork Bahn mi with jalapeños on the side. Just a short wait, so that's a plus. The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The carrots and cilantro were fresh and crisp. There was a good amount of mayo for my liking. Usually, cucumbers aren't my jam, but with the flavors combos already working, it's magic. Now the meat; thinly sliced, smell of grilled goodness and had a slight char to it but overall juicy and tasty. Good last minute pitstop.
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
Sorry I gave them another shot and it's just not worth it. There are so many other Bahn Mi places that's cheaper and stuff their sandwiches with real good meat and flavors. I was hoping for over $30 for two sandwiches they would stuff theirs with meat as well, nope! The shaking beef was incredibly salty! The combination, flavors are descent but it's just too little meat and pate and just stuffed with carrots and daikon. There are just cheaper better places like Mr Bahn Mi on Balboa, Saigon in TL and TY sandwiches in excelsior.
google avatar

Yelp
Omg cashier charge me for a bag which he didn't give me. I went back n got my refund. Cashier wasn't paying attention, Geez.. really ??? My sandwich came out to be $14 something.. the combination... freshly made...the bread has a crispy and soft inside.. meat was ok, favorful.. overall it's just ok...

Yelp
Enjoyed bahn mi sandwiches (tuna and the special) here the other day. For the price, I did expect it to be better. The mayo was a bit overwhelming but the bread was particularly fresh. I enjoyed the drinks the most! Got watermelon lychee and an avocado smoothie. Dinosaurs has been on my to go list for awhile. I think the food was generally good and the outdoor seating was nice and felt like picnic.

Yelp
Excellent banh mi in a crowded market. The special is excellent with a sizable portion of pickled vegetables and some nice jalapeños.

Yelp
Finally a food is so good experience that I am already thinking about when I can come back for seconds? I do not like banh mi sandwiches but I loved their Kare-kare sammie ! It even had a touch of bagong on the side (if you know you know). That was one of the best sandwiches I've had hands-down. I also tried the fresh shrimp and avocado rolls with their housemade peanut sauce - it was delicious! To wash it down I had the Vietnamese coffee and thai ice tea and both were a 10 out of 10.

Yelp
I came to this place on a Tuesday morning. It was definitely a good call since there was no line. I ordered a chicken and shrimp spring roll, a portobello mushroom sandwich, a beef and a pork sandwich all together. It came out to 60$ which is a bit pricey but it was definitely worth it. The spring rolls were very fresh and the peanut sauce was incredible. The sandwiches were all very good not too much mayo which I love. Overall I think this place is very good, only two people manning the orders as well which is crazy for the amount of time it took for our order which was a very short wait. My belly is very happy and I am very satisfied thanks dinosaurs!

Yelp
Food: Incredible sandwiches! As a voracious vegetarian I can never get enough of their Tofu Bhan Mi with an Avocado shake (made with rice milk!) Also very vegan friendly. Service: NO frills. Ambiance: They have some cute tables outside for those rare sunny days in SF where we can sit and basque in the sunshine.

Yelp
Dinosaurs is located in a great location for your Vietnamese sammie needs. This little shack produces really good food with fresh ingredients. I feel the sandwiches have gotten smaller but their flavors are still good. The spring rolls are always a nice refreshing treat with a hidden surprise ingredient, apples! Some like it some don't but it does add some texture to the rolls. Their watermelon lychee slushy is perfect for any hot day. Great service, good food.

Yelp
Service is super slow. Called at 12:10pm and placed an order for 4 sandwiches. Quoted with a 15 to 20 mins wait. Arrived at 12:20, waited in line till 12:42, then was told it's still not ready. Only one person answering the phone, taking the order, charging the guest. However, there was 3-4 people working inside. Super unorganized line. There's people cutting in front with phone orders and people waiting in line with phone orders. No one know what's going on. Definitely, the guy in the front is super overwhelm. Dont think I'll be returning.

Yelp
I always call in advance because on weekends they get a long line of customers. I order the special banh mi and the p Spring rolls with peanut butter sauce, special banh mi bread is really good and my three year old niece LOVES it even though the bread can be a little hard. Spring rolls are tasty since they have green apples, their peanut butter sauce is slightly spicy. They have a park/performance thing next to the store, does not have sitting.
