"In the charming downtown area of Los Gatos, Dio Deka serves sophisticated, Greek-inspired Mediterranean cuisine. The menu leans heavy on the protein, with an emphasis on fresh seafood, lamb chops, and steaks that are prepared on a mesquite-charcoal grill. The name of the restaurant translates to “210” and signifies the area code of Athens. Fittingly, the specialty dishes mirror a strong Greek influence with their ingredients including cheeses, olive oil, oregano, and thyme-scented honey. Dio Deka also offers an extensive wine list featuring 1,500 labels spanning Greek, Spanish, and Italian selections." - Paolo Bicchieri, Cathy Park

"Dio Deka may specialize in Greek food, but this is no typical taverna, as the stylish dining room (complete with a roaring fireplace) ably demonstrates. A wealthy, well-dressed Los Gatos crowd flocks to the front patio on warm evenings, dining and people-watching within the vine-covered walls of the Hotel Los Gatos. The bar also draws a brace of cheery regulars.Skip the dull mesquite-grilled steaks and keep your order Greek: think stuffed grape leaves with tender braised beef cheek, or a bright pan-seared local salmon with roasted yellow peppers, potatoes and artichokes. The adventurous shouldn’t miss out on the fun offering of Greek wines, and sweet buffs should allow space for the crema me meli, a fantastic burnt-honey mousse with almond and lemon." - Michelin Inspector

Went for a birthday dinner, thought we'd class it up a bit and go for some fine Greek dining at Dio Deka, which didn't disappoint. A couple of us had the Arni Youvetsi "lamb volcano shank", which was delicious and a sizeable portion. We also had the lobster pasta, which was great as well (as long as you don't mind looking at a lobster head 😋 ); rich and creamy sauce. Marco was an amazing server and gave great guidance on both food and drink. I haven't been here for a few years, but I have to come back sooner.

Reserved a table to celebrate my wife's birthday. I asked for a special table and they kindly accommodated my request. They seated us at the most special table there in a beautiful corner which resulted in memorable photos for us. I'd like to thank the staff again for their warm hospitality and great service. We'll go back again for special occasions.

Both my wife and I enjoy exploring new restaurants, so we decided to try Dio Deka last Friday based on a neighbor’s recommendation. The atmosphere and service were excellent, creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. The bar area had plenty of space, so we chose to sit there. We started with appetizers and drinks, and I must say the octopus was outstanding! The drinks and bar service were equally impressive, adding to the positive start to our evening. However, we were very disappointed with the lobster pasta we ordered for dinner. At $60, we expected a high-quality dish, but instead, we were served soggy pasta and what seemed like low-quality, packaged lobster. It felt like an afterthought rather than a well-crafted dish. Unfortunately, this left a bad impression, and we’re not planning to return or recommend Dio Deka to others. While some aspects of the experience were great, the main course didn’t live up to the restaurant’s reputation or price point.

The best Greek in town! I was here for birthday dinner. It was very good experience. The staff are really attentive. We had bread with 3 kind of dips. And main course Branazino I think if I say it right. And another plate we got lamp steak. Both plates are tender and perfect tastes with Chardonnay.

Back again after moving during covid. They have a new chef. New menu is a derivative of the prior - and still has a nice selection. I enjoyed the new “hot rock” serving of my wonderful filet. Hearing and smelling the sizzle added a nice touch, and of course the filet didn’t get cold either. Two of our part had the Branzino and enjoyed it - and we had lamb chops that were accompanied by high compliments. Dio Deka still has it ! Nice job team.

Google
Dio Deka is one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area. Everything is perfect, the food, ambience and the service. It is fine dining at it's best. We had the spinokopitas, eggplant with pitas and zucchini croquette as appetizers. Branzino and scallops as entrees and baklava and beingets as desserts. Each dish was delicious and presented with style. The service is also very prompt and courteous.

Google
The experience was so-so overall. While some dishes were enjoyable, others were complete misses, with a few being overly salted. The staff was friendly, but their service felt superficial—checking in seemed more like a formality than genuine care. For the price, the food was average and did not meet expectations.

Truly spectacular experience all around! Very impressive staff who were professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. Presentation and temperatures were top notch. I don't get to this area too often, but next time I will return. Highly recommend. Shout out to the entire team who help our table!

Yelp
Our dining experience was so delightful, I'm glad we made the choice to give Dio Deka a try. This restaurant is on the same property as the Hotel Los Gatos, located in downtown Los Gatos. Put thoughts of a tired hotel dining establishment out of your mind as this is such a sweet spot. The restaurant has plenty of space, really nice decor and a wonderful seating plan. They try and get maximum table space inside the restaurant, but it didn't feel too crowded. The waitstaff worked together wonderfully. Our waiter was polite and knowledgeable, and the food runners kept our meal running seamlessly as we went through courses by clearing and resetting our table. Our meals were delicious. The flavoring and preparation of the food items were thoughtfully and skillfully chosen to elevate the taste experience. They offered several courses and quite a few options for each course. The wine list is extensive and the cocktails were seriously creative. This restaurant offers such variety, I will definitely come back to explore more of their meals.

Yelp
Went to Dio Deka for my second time and I was absolutely blown away by the food and the service. We were there as a group of 12 to celebrate a birthday dinner; we were warmly greeted and had the most amazing server, Athos, who gave perfect food recommendations and was so lively that his presence really brightened our already wonderful evening. The cocktail menu is a little short and not my style so Athos recommended a raspberry mojito and it was the best mojito I've had, such strong mint flavor! We ordered spanikopita, octopus, and carrot fritters as appetizers and all three were delicious. The char and flavor on the octopus was so good! I finally found an octopus to rival the one at Hero Ranch Kitchen :) I had the lobster pasta for my entree and the ekmek for dessert and both were full of flavor and unlike other dishes I've had before. I also tried a friend's baklava and it was the best I've ever had. Thank you to Dio Deka and Athos for such a fun, memorable evening!

Yelp
I cannot rave about this place enough! They arguably have my absolute favorite dish in the world right now, lobster pasta. If you haven't been here, or if you haven't tried it, it's a must! This is coming from someone who is pretty strictly keto, rarely orders lobster, and I can't resist it. Yes, it's that great! Whether sitting at a table or the bar, I have felt very well taken care of. ALEXA is the BEST, she absolutely crushes it behind the bar, even with a full house. I'm sometimes delightfully presented with a surprise from the bar, or the chef, or even from one of the other locals who's dining at the same time. Love the local community feeling, while enjoying finer dining.

Yelp
This is a life experience that you need to have when you come to Los Gatos. Our waiter is so amazing! He was very sensitive to my gluten-free allergies and he is so cute and charming! He made us forget about all of our problems! The octopus is to die for. The salmon sashimi is out of this world. The scallops are phenomenal. I love the roasted potatoes. I wish I could make them at home. A+ plus

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for awhile. As a Greek, I pride myself to try the many different authentic Greek restaurants in the area. So when hubby suggested to go on a date night, I knew just where I wanted to go. I'd give this place 3.5 stars out of 5. This restaurant is tucked away from the busy downtown of Los Gatos. It's actually a restaurant part of a hotel. So if you aren't staying at the hotel, you have to park on the street. We didn't have any trouble finding street parking but you do get the sense that you are in a hotel ambiance. One of the highlights is walking into the entrance and seeing the beautiful fountain! We were immediately greeted and seated. The ambiance I'd say was decent. They have Greek music playing but the lighting could have been better. Now for the food. I had reviewed the recommendations from previous yelpers so I had an idea what to order. The main tip is yes, definitely order the Greek dishes as that is their specialty! For appetizers, we had the fried zucchini and the saganaki. Now the Saganaki is typically served flambé but they actually took a different spin to their saganaki. They serve it more sweeter, drizzled with honey. Apparently that's how the owners grandmother used to make it so I thought that was a nice touch. It was interesting for a saganaki though as I was used to more savory! The main meals were delicious. I had the lobster pasta and the sauce and the lobster melted in your mouth. It was also a generous portion which I appreciated. Hubby had the lamb shanks that were also tasty. The one thing to note about the meals is that you order the main dish (like lobster pasta or lamb shank) and you have to order the sides seperately (the potatoes, veggies, etc). I thought that was a little weird and not to mention it was costly for the amount as well. This is not very typical in Greece so I didn't think that part was that authentic. For dessert we had the baklava although at that point we were both ready to be rolled out of the restaurant because we were so full! The service was also pretty attentive and friendly. Overall I thought it was a nice place and we had a lovely time but I don't think I will be back. It doesn't compare to the caliber of the other Greek restaurants in Palo Alto that we go often to. You definitely feel like you are part of a hotel, not just its separate restaurant. Full disclosure, it was a tad forgettable in that sense, and the fact we had to order sides as extra kind of turned me off. However I am still glad I tried it. I'd recommend coming here for a date night to try it out for yourself! Just be prepared to pay extra for sides, feel as if it's part of a hotel and have it be semi-Greek authentic. And if you do come here, definitely get the lobster pasta!!!

Yelp
Came here for a birthday and are so glad we did! First of all, the service was absolutely amazing. They were super attentive and conversational, we were all very impressed. We got lots of dishes and everything was amazing but some highlights were the octopus and saganaki appetizers, the lobster pasta and scallop entrees, and the Greek yoghurt dessert. That octopus was hands down the best ive ever had. It was incredibly tender, not fishy or rubbery at all, and had a delicious grilled crust. All of the dishes are great but you cannot leave without trying the octopus. I will be back!

Yelp
Dia Deka is a culinary haven nestled in the heart of our city, and my recent dining experience there left me utterly captivated. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an ambiance that perfectly balanced elegance with warmth, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. Let's start with the stars of the show - the beef steak and lobster pasta. Each bite of the beef steak was a symphony of flavors, perfectly cooked to my desired level of doneness, and infused with rich, savory notes that danced on my palate. The lobster pasta, on the other hand, was a celebration of indulgence, with succulent lobster pieces adorning al dente pasta strands bathed in a decadent sauce that left me longing for more. These dishes truly exemplify culinary craftsmanship at its finest, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. However, no dining experience is without its imperfections, and in this case, it was the octopus leg that fell slightly short of expectations. While the flavors were commendable, the texture of the octopus was unfortunately overcooked, resulting in a slightly rubbery consistency that detracted from an otherwise stellar dish. Nonetheless, this minor hiccup did little to dampen my overall enjoyment of the meal. In addition to the exquisite fare, the service at Dia Deka was nothing short of impeccable. From the moment I was seated, I was attended to with genuine warmth and professionalism, with each member of the staff going above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Their attentiveness was matched only by their knowledge of the menu, and their recommendations were spot-on, further enhancing my culinary journey. As for the ambiance, Dia Deka strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. The elegant décor, paired with soft lighting and plush seating, creates an atmosphere that is both refined and inviting, making it the ideal setting for a special occasion or an intimate evening out. In conclusion, Dia Deka is a culinary gem that deserves every accolade it receives. While the octopus leg may have missed the mark, the beef steak and lobster pasta more than made up for it, showcasing the culinary prowess of the kitchen. Add to that the impeccable service and inviting ambiance, and you have a dining experience that is truly second to none. I cannot wait to return to Dia Deka and explore more of their tantalizing menu offerings.

Yelp
Came to Dio deka for a job promotion. I ordered the Kansas City steak which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the pita bread was too die for. Our server Anthony was exceptional today. He went above and beyond to give an excellent service. Thank you once again Anthony.

Winter L.

Yelp
We went to Dio Deka multiple times, but somehow it is always crowded and we feel rushed by the waiter. Food in Evvia PA seems slightly better and ambiance is nicer.

Lyndsey F.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! We got the oktapodi and soutzoukakia for our starters, the lavraki and the "kansas city" bone-in strip loin for our entrees, and the loukoumades with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Our server Tony G was the best! Everything we ordered was recommended by him and he was consistently checking up on us. An overall great experience at Dio Deka!

Yelp
Came here with a party of five. This is a classy, pricey restaurant inside the Los Gatos Hotel. The ambience is classy rustic and the service is excellent. We ordered: octopus, spinakopita Ribeye steak Truffle fries, mushrooms Beignets The pear sidecar cocktail was delicious: well balanced and just a great sipper and complement to the food. Everything was delicious. It's a pricey place, but the service and food are excellent so would definitely come back for a special occasion.

Yelp
Got reservations online for 4, and arrived around 7ish for dinner on a Friday. Found street parking nearby and walked to the restaurant Had come here upon recommendations from friends. Ordered assortment of spreads and lamb meat balls as the two appetizers. Lamb meat balls: rating 4/5 Loved the meat balls. They come as a 3 piece in the plate but the staff added one to serve our party of 4 Assortment of spreads: rating 4/5 Red capsicum and yoghurt, tzatziki, baba ghanoush served with a unique bread I haven't had before but enjoyed Branzino : rating 4.2/5 Loved the dish. Although apparently they used to serve the entire fish and debone it in front of your eyes earlier. Seems like they have stopped doing so which was a bummer. The quantity of the fish was hence smaller than what we expected, as only two pieces of filets were served. Scallops: rating 4.2/5 Loved the char and cooking on the scallops. It came on a bed of polenta that was made like a semi slurry with butter or oil garnishing. Could have used some herbs on the polenta to make it taste gorgeous! Baklava - rating 4.1/5 Nice baklava, a little too sweet for some others on the table. Came with ice cream. I ate most of it as the group also tasted some complementary tiny tarts served that I was not a fan of unfortunately due to their taste.

Yelp
Excellent food but check the prices before you go. All very good. Lamb shank favor was a solid 10/10!

Paul K.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing. Service is excellent. A bustling air of festive people. I especially love the lamb chops and always enjoy trying fresh sides and new appetizers.

Darrin J.

Yelp
Dio Deka has really stepped up on food and service. Anthony did an outstanding job and clearly cluster customer focused. The food has really stepped up with ribs being outstanding, lobster pasta was a bit under seasoned abs the beignets and cake verve good. Very nice selection of wines and very affordable. Ambiance is very nice and upscale!

Lloyd C.

Yelp
Charming and elegant restaurant attached to the hotel. Our server was very proper, very friendly and helpful. He recommended the dishes we got. *Dorade-Tsipoura: whole and served with the bone, mesquite-grilled, lemon, fennel & herbs stuffed. When it first came out, we thought, "oh, there isn't really a sauce with this?" Man, we're we wrong. It really didn't need it. The fish was so flakey and delicious just the right amount of seasoning. This dish works! *Pork Chop: 16oz bone-in Berkshire (Kurobuta), seasonal compote, chimichurri. This was cooked but had a little pink in it. Delicious! Nice porky goodness. *Foraged Local Mushrooms: I wanted to like this side dish, but it was just too heavy-handed with the salt. *Dessert: Fabulous! Creamy with a honey soaked pastry bottom.

Yelp
Located in the upscale Hotel Los Gatos, Dio Deka is an elegant, high-end restaurant offering a chef-driven menu of Greek and Mediterranean-inspired flavors. We were started with a complimentary amuse bouche of tarts filled with a carrot purée, and then came the appetizers. The Sillogi came with thick, grilled housemade pita bread along with a trio of spreads: tzatziki, tirokafteri, and melitzanosalata. The Saganaki was a square of pan-seared cheese topped with jalapeño-raspberry jam and crushed hazelnuts; the Oktapodi was a whole grilled octopus tentacle; the Soutzoukakia were lamb and beef meatballs served with tomato sauce and yogurt; and the Horiatiki was a Greek salad of cucumber, tomato, red onion, peppers, olives, and a block of Dodoni feta. All the appetizers were tasty (and on the small side), but the entrees were the standout dishes. Our server informed us that their two best-known entrees were the Branzino (Lavraki), two grilled fillets served over fasolakia lathera (green beans stewed with tomatoes) and roasted potatoes; and the double cut lamb chops, which had a perfectly grilled, crispy exterior and deliciously juicy interior. These were indeed the best entrees, but we also had the super tender Filet Mignon; the huge 16 oz bone-in Berkshire pork chop served with an onion compote; and the Lobster Pasta, made with housemade tagliatelle in a creamy beurre blanc sauce, topped with pieces of butter-poached lobster. On the side, we ordered the incredibly meaty, umami Foraged Local Mushrooms, flavored with plenty of garlic and herbs! Everything we had here was quality, delicious, and pricey, and the friendly service and atmosphere made this a memorable fine-dining institution!

Yelp
Food was great, ambience was good and service was outstanding, went there for my 6yr anniversary, was great overall

Yelp
Place was very nice inside. Quiet and relaxing for a romantic dinner. Our server (his name starts with a D) was fantastic. Super friendly and was always making sure our experience was wonderful. Gave us great suggestions. Food was pretty tasty and filling as well.

Yelp
WOW-talk about well-deserved, palatable Michelin star! tldr; Steep prices but unbeatable food. Special occasions or dates, Dio Deka wins on service and food. Ambience is great but lighting is dim heh. We came here for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. It's hard to feel good about indulging at the hefty price points but it was 100% WORTH IT. The service from hostesses and waiters are hard to match. The atmosphere is always bubbly and has a very nice ambience here. Warning though for anyone who may be light-impaired: the lighting is pretty dim and we saw many people pull out their phone flashlights to read the menus. THE FOOD: The Branzino fish is easily one of the more affordable, yet delicious items. It has a flaky skin with super soft meat and is plated nicely with some veggies. The Okatpodi is a grilled leg of octopus that (despite not usually being a fan of octo/squid), I enjoyed. The outside has a nice crust put on it but the inside meat is cooked to just the right texture of chewy melded with soft. Flavor is all there, try it! Lamb Chops! I was hesitant when I saw the $84 price point for 3 chops, but I caved considering the special occasion. I got mine medium rare but would swap for medium next time (I like steaks close to rare for context). Lamb flavor was amazing and not overpowering, the meat melts in your mouth once you manage to carve it up. Would get again, but medium! Beignets (Loukamathes) These are huge beignet donuts covered in a bath of honey and sprinkled with some nuts. Any beignet lover will find these awesome, but my SO wasn't as much a fan haha. They treat anniversaries very nicely and make it a great experience, bonus points for the decorations on our beignet plate! (See pic). Palette cleansers (hibiscus + lime shots!) and complimentary snacks were given at times.

Greg D.

Yelp
Great food, some of the plates are quite all, pricey but worth a trip. The service was excellent.

Robert E.

Yelp
I went here this past Friday with my wife, my 2 children and a guest. At the beginning, I mentioned to the waiter that I wanted to get the children's dinner first since they would be leaving early. I continually asked the waiter for updates on their food but his response was that it was coming. The children's dinner did not come for an hour. The restaurant did not look like they were busy. My guest and I ordered branzino. The fish did not look good. We both agreed that it was the worst fish that we ever tasted. The service was very bad and the food was not that good. I would not go back to this place or recommend to any guest.

Beverley M.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious We tried some of the new appetisers the scallops were Firm and very tasty The watermelon salad was delicious The carrot cake appetiser was great I had the lamb chops and they were done to perfection The Greek salad was very good The service of course was perfect, and I love the ambience there

Yelp
This is the type of restaurant do you want to go to if you want to enjoy beautiful ambience, great service and amazing food. Come here willing to spend a few hours so that you can really enjoy the wine the food and the company. We tried lots of different appetizers, and all of the entrées that we ordered was delicious. Our server was amazing and the wine was wonderful. This literally nothing bad I can say about this place it's Definitely a place that I will be visiting again with friends and family

Rob S.

Yelp
Great food. Insane wine selection. Like every wine ever made. Good outdoor option on nice day.

Yelp
When we were in San Jose area meeting up with friends, we picked Dio Deka in Los Gatos for our gathering. We had a reservation but we weren't seated until everyone got there. We were sharing appetizers so we ordered bunch of them, but we got our own main courses. For appetizers, we got riblets, spakanotiropita, and octopus. We also got a hummus tomato compliment treat. For our main courses we picked the whole fish and branzino. While all of the appetizers were a hit, we love the riblets the most. Branzino was really good, but it couldn't beat the whole fish. The whole fish was meaty and seasoned just right. Very enjoyable dishes. The only thing lacking during our dining experience was the service. For some strange reasons, after we ordered the appetizers, no one came back to take our orders for the main courses. To a point that the table was filled with appetizers so Fatty had like 7 menus on the lap. We ended up having appetizers with menus on the lap, a quiet difficult task to do but good strength training at the same time. Our orders were finally taken after we finished the appetizers while Fatty crying for staff's help to get the menu off. Our water was always empty and we had to flag staff to fill our empty glasses the entire night, but they never had any issues coming back to try to get us purchasing more alcoholic drinks. So... just that experience alone, we were glad we tried the restaurant, but probably wouldn't return again. However, we would recommend to try it though.

Ofer G.

Yelp
Excellent experience. While this restaurant isn't cheap, the service and food quality were a 10/10. We had the octopus, clams and New York Strip and they were all cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!

Alex M.

Yelp
We were so very disappointed in our dinner. Service was slow and 20 minutes after I ordered my dinner was informed that they were out. Sorry to say we will not be back.

Jacquie G.

Yelp
We sat at the bar on a sold-out Friday night and had an exceptional experience! Ruben is an excellent bartender and took great care of us! His drinks were top tier, and he has wonderful customer service. Highly recommend!

Karen A.

Yelp
This was an upscale Mediterranean establishment with classy decor and a comfortable ambiance. While it did take quite some time for our food to arrive due to the rush, our server was entertaining and informative. The items we had were all flavorful and delicious. I would definitely come back again.

Michaela S.

Yelp
Long overdue review but better late than never! I took my boyfriend of now 3.5 years to Dio Deka back in 2020 for his birthday dinner request. He loves this place and wanted me to give them my honest review. When we sat down, they gave us a complimentary small bite sized appetizer served on little cute spoons. For our actual appetizers, we ordered lamb meatballs served on top of a white tahini like sauce with roasted tomatoes and a three different hummus platter w/pita bread. The meatballs were so juicy and tender. I was expecting a more chewy texture since it's made of lamb, but it was so fluffy. They paired so well with the white sauce and tomatoes. I ate them with the pita bread and made myself a mini pita lamb sandwich. For our main course, we got the pan seared bass fillet bedded on curry like lentils and herb crusted lamb lollipops. We also got baked Brussels sprouts, foraged truffle mushrooms and fries to go on the side. The bass was so soft but skin nice and crispy just how I like it. Since the fish had light seasoning, it paired really well with the heavy aromatics of the lentils. The lamb lollipops were very tender. The herb crust really gave them a nice seasoned smoky taste so it balanced out the gaminess of the lamb. For dessert, they gave us some complimentary beignets.. mainly because they messed up on the order the first time...but all is forgiven! The main desserts though were the chocolate lava cake soufflé and baklava. Really was a nice finish to our meal after all that salt from our dinner. Dio deka is a great date night spot that I highly recommend if you're in the mood for a fancy Mediterranean cuisine. Service is excellent and Not too overly priced either. Definitely will be coming back again! Thank you Dio Deka for a great experience!

Yelp
Wow this place was absolutely amazing!!! I was fortunate enough to go with a large group of friends and we had the best time and service. The food oh my gosh!!! Amazing we had some appetizers, steak and lamb. The lamb was our favorite!! Highly recommend thi

Yelp
This is a terrific place to eat; very spacious and wonderful patio outside. I would just say I did notice the indoor service is better than outdoor service but not worthy of deducting from my 5 star experience. Terrific for special occassion to side inside. I would consider another visit here. Thank you so much.

Jace R.

Yelp
I gotta say, I've been here a few times, and its always mixed on the experience. The best experiences I've had are on the weekend though, I will say that, so if you plan to go, go on the weekend. Im putting a 3 stars knowing I'll be back and hopefully have a better experience than the other night. Reason for the 3 stars: 1. Had to ask 3 separate times for more pita bread 2. Tried to flag down a server multiple times as I couldn't find ours 3. Octopus was burnt and a bit rubbery for some pieces 4. Both Octopus plates were missing the sauce, and drizzled in what seemed to be olive oil like i said, half the time i have a great experience, half the time theres something wrong, but i do thoroughly enjoy this restaurant, just wished for more consistency on the good times.

Susan C.

Yelp
One of our favorites places to go! We love to sit in the bar. Ruben takes great care of us.

Laura G.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I celebrated our three-month anniversary at Dio Deka last night. My parents gifted us a $200 gift card they got for their 40th anniversary. Our food was so delicious. My favorites were the pasta and the potatoes. Our server Alicia was very friendly, knowledgeable and kind. She went above and beyond by taking beautiful photos of my boyfriend and I outside the restaurant. They're some of the best photos we ever took together. She made the evening extra special. Thank you, Alicia! Will definitely be back for special occasions.

Terri M.

Yelp
Absolutely most wonderful restaurant! Great food, the best service and very nice atmosphere. I've never had a bad meal there. It's a special place for my family and I. We love the lamb chops, but you can't go wrong with anything there!

If I wanted a steak, I'd return. Definitely on the pricy side, my 16oz ribeye was 135$ but it was really good. The sage dressing was a nice touch. They know how to cook a steak so order exactly what you want, it won't be over or under. Only beef, the compound butter was too cold and didn't really melt. Lemon dill potatoes were amazing. Meat ball app was awesome. Service and attendance to us was really great. 3 dip app was pretty good, wasn't a fan of the baba. No hesitation bringing more pita. Some other beefs The orzo is gone, rice is meh All out of mushrooms? Bleh, no one wants fries or spinach with steak I really wanted a fresh soft pita There's a lot on the menu but to be honest, nothing really struck out at me, I almost just ate apps, even salads were boring Nothing really special about the space, pretty generic up scale restaurant

Yelp
I've been to their cafe before and my husband has been to the restaurant and has been wanting to take me, so we went to celebrate his birthday here. Located close to the Los Gatos downtown and across from Los Gatos High, you'll find this Mediterranean gem. We started off with wine and appetizers. I got Assyrtiko white wine from Santorini and hubby got a red wine. My white wine was really nice and I fully enjoyed it. For starters we got Saganaki (pan seared cheese) and Soutzoukakia (lamb and beef meatballs) as well as some pita bread. I must say the starters were the stars of the night for me! The lamb/meatballs were so tasty and flavorful and the sauce that they were sitting on was delicious and nice to have with the pita bread as well. The Saganaki was delicious as well. I love cheese and this was perfection! For main course, I got the petite lamb chops. I would have liked them to be cooked a little more than what they were. They did not ask how I would have liked them cooked so I thought they would be a little more cooked than what they were. It was probably a medium but i'm more of a medium well person. So that was a bit of a bummer...I felt like I wasted a lot of meat because it was undercooked for my liking. My husband got the 16oz rib eye steak and enjoyed his. The service was good and our waiter Jacob ( I think was his name) was very attentive and gave us suggestions when we asked.

Yelp
Food quality / presentation: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 8/10 Family friendly: 5/10 I wish the food menu and by the glass offerings were a little more expansive, but overall the service and food hit the spot. It wasn't out of this world good but it certainly wasn't disappointing. The highlights were the bread and chocolate cake ganache dessert. The charm, too. Set in Los Gatos, CA, dining outside on the patio in the evening was a delight. I had the branzino which was cooked perfectly and placed over a plate of sautéed greens and served with roasted potatoes. My partner had the lamp chops which were excellent but a little scant on the sides, which meant he was still a little hungry afterwards. While they don't have a kids menu, they're willing to make pasta with butter and cheese or red sauce.

Yelp
We used to come to Dio Deka 15-16 years ago, and it was quite good. But after we moved away from the area, we found other places. In the last year or so we've been hearing great things about the food from friends who live in the Los Gatos / Saratoga area, but dismissed them as exaggeration. And then, a couple of months ago, I found out that Chef Nikos Moulinos had moved to Dio Deka a couple of years ago. The next day we were there. And, oh boy, was it good. Every dish we had was outstanding: the moussaka with duck meat (who other than Chef Nikos would have thought to combine two of my favorite tastes?), the lobster pasta, the octopus, the thalassomezes (seafood sampler), the spanakopita, everything was mouthwatering. And the desserts? Forget about it: the loukoumades (donut beignets drenched in Greek honey), the ekmek (kataifi with an amazing cream topping), and the sokolatina (chocolate cheesecake) are all in my Top 10 all-time dessert list. My only regret: That I didn't know about Chef Nikos being there earlier; I missed a couple of years of enjoying this wonderful food. And last, but not least, I should add that our dinner was made even better by the excellent service we received from everyone, but especially Darrin, who took great care of us at our table, and Sakis, who made us feel very welcome as we came in. All in all, a wonderful experience worth the long drive.

Yelp
My 12 year old son ordered off menu- plain burger and fettucine with butter. We had the on-menu truffle fries on the side. The burger was substantial and absolutely delicious. I've never had better truffle fries! (Oh yes, this means I tried his burger and fries:))

Yelp
In short, another very overrated, very expensive restaurant. It is a reoccurring theme as I have become a very picky chef. My pet peeves are over cooked food and seasoning that drowns out the flavor of the course. The restaurant had all of that. This restaurant confirms to me once again that I can do better in my own kitchen putting out a superb meal. I tasted both the lamb shank and pork chop. Food was over salted which is a chef's rookie error. Side of vegetables was saturated in a thyme mixture drowning out the flavor of the carrots which were also over cooked. Good wine list Libations from the bar were excellent Service was excellent. I don't mind paying high prices for excellent food and service, but this was probably the biggest disappointment of the year in my restaurant experience.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the hype around this place is about. The food was subpar for the price point. I had the lamb shank and my father had the salmon. I tried his salmon and it was terrible. It tasted extremely fishy and bland. The lamb shank was good but not great. We also ordered the three Greek spreads with pita, which was good and the Spanish octopus was decent. Service was good, although I felt like we had to prompt the server to order and they were constantly flitting around. The baklava was not great--I couldn't finish it. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and I won't be returning. Steer clear unless you're looking for overpriced, subpar fare.

Yelp
Great decor, quiet setting, amazing Server Darren. Food came out hot and fresh, loved the scallops and the Tomahawk steak. Wide selection of alcohol at the bar. Octopus was moist and not chewy at all.
