It's been a few years and more than a few visits since my first review of Dirtbag's. They definitely deserve a full and detailed update. Note that I still only ever come here on Sundays, specifically targeting the farmer's market. That is with the exception of visiting for an evening dueling pianos show.
They have built on, added, and expanded rapidly. Dirtbag's alone scratches an itch that in other larger NC cities is full of competition. They do it all. The yoga followed by a beer. Food trucks spanning a large variety of cuisines. The ever expanding Farmers market featuring both handmade and homegrown. Meats, cheeses, vegetables, mushrooms. There's even a guy selling ostrich meat. Goat's milk soap and hygiene products. Quirky quotes on t-shirts, mugs, stickers, and more. Baked goods of all kinds. Wood working items like cutting boards. Hummus. Coffee. Even a non-profit second-hand store helping women.
They built an entire second building which houses a cocktail and spirits bar. There you can get a damn good whiskey drink, among others. Outside, you can complement your whiskey with a cigar from their new cigar trailer. Along with their growth, the parking lot has extended into practical infinity, so it's a good idea to get here early.
For my part, I'd like to get out here for the yoga sesh and to find out if they have a run club (not likely, considering the somewhat rural location). And I imagine there are other fun events for weeknight visits. All in all, such a fun place that I'm glad we have in The Ville.
