NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"The cutesy name trend (see Dilly Dally, Bar Whimsy, Whoopsie Daisy) continues with Disco Birdies, a Bed-Stuy spot from the For All Things Good team. The focus here is on fried chicken sandwiches, disco, and champagne. Their disco fries have caviar and crème fraîche on them, and if you want, you can also get your ice cream served over fries. Is this the Wendy’s of our dreams?" - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

Best New Restaurants in Brooklyn, July 2025: According to Eater Editors | Eater NY

"Matt Diaz, who opened For All Things Good in 2020, has added three more spots on Franklin Avenue between Greene and Lexington Avenues in Bed-Stuy over the past five years with various partners. Bar Birba, an Italian aperitivo spot; Disco Bottles, a new wine shop; and now, Disco Birdies, a fried chicken spot with Champagne. Also on the menu: a falafel smash burger and fried chicken bites. The new spot, like his others, is walk-in friendly." - Emma Orlow

Disco Birdies is like a Wendy’s, if Wendy’s served champagne - Review - New York - The Infatuation

"From the team behind neighbors For All Things Good and Bar Birba, Disco Birdies in Bed-Stuy is a little like a Wendy’s—if the Wendy's fry cook talked about the salt profile of their french fries, and the unctuousness of the Baconator. Here though, the burger is a smashburger, and everyone is drinking champagne, even that fry cook. photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte Pause Unmute A good spot for pregaming in the area, Disco Birdies is a restaurant, but it’s also sort of a bar: About half the space is standing-room only. What the place lacks in chairs, though, it makes up for with disco fries bathing in creme fraiche with a dollop of caviar, and a fried chicken sandwich that's slathered with ranch-like sauce, topped with tart homemade pickles, and excellent even when eaten standing up. Whether you add a side of fries to the toasted vanilla brioche soft serve or not, you will leave smelling like the inside of a deep fryer. And likely also having consumed even more champagne than you did on that one New Year’s Eve. You know the one. Food Rundown Fried Chicken Sandwich This is a perfect sandwich, with a thick fried thigh, a squishy bun, and both pickles and tangy ranch dressing to cut through all that richness. photo credit: Kate Previte Bistro Smash We politely disagree with the server who tried to convince us the burger is better than the fried chicken sandwich. But it's still a good double patty burger, and we appreciate the pickles on both patties. photo credit: Kate Previte Fries The fries here are almost too much like McDonald's, in that they're a little pale and lack an appropriate crisp. But they're still French fries, and we’ll still eat them. Bistro Salad Resist the voice in your head that says you need a salad with every meal. First of all, you don't, and also this one is somehow both slightly soggy and slightly underdressed. Chicken Bites If you're just here for a little snack and a lot of champagne, order some chicken bites. They're more chicken nugget than chicken tender, with a craggy crust. Disco Disco Fries How do you feel about spending $35 on french fries topped with caviar? If that statement makes you irrationally angry, avoid. If not, order the disco fries, plus lots more champagne to go with it. photo credit: Kate Previte Toasted Vanilla Brioche Soft Serve This house made soft serve is way more interesting than your classic vanilla, and you can of course pair it with french fries as Wendy and Ronald McDonald intended. photo credit: Kate Previte" - Willa Moore

If you have the bravado to only do a couple of things, they better be done with a high execution and confidence. I think Disco Birdies delivers and does not disappoint. The crispy crackle of the fry on the chicken was perfect. The juicy tenderness of the chicken melted when eating. The dipping sauce was perfect - dare I say I almost wanted a blue cheese sauce as an option too. Maybe hot sauce on the side? Paired with a chilly glass of sparkling wine on a hot night. Could you ask for a better way to sit back and savor the summer? One side note is I wish the chicken had a little more seasoning on it - salt? a lovely savory poultry combo? It’s a minor edit or update. It more importantly is a great fried chicken spot in the heart of Brooklyn. I’ll be back for sure.

Fun new spot with cozy intimate vibes, great food, and champagne✨ Loved the smash burger and fried chicken sandwich… especially loved how many thinly sliced pickles there were. Not pictured (bc I had no self control to take a photo first) was the brioche soft serve with fries; elevated take on a frosty and fries. Can’t wait to come back 🪩

This place won’t be secret for long. This is simple food done really well. I ordered the chicken bites and the toasted vanilla brioche soft serve. You can tell the buttermilk made tte chicken so tender and juicy. The breading was perfectly seasoned and crunchy. It was very light after eating it. It didn’t need sauce but it paired well with chicken. Everyone should try the soft serve. It’s the total package good food and great service. Thank you taking the time to create great food!

Great food, comfortable outdoor seating and attentive, helpful staff. The fried chicken sandwich with buttermilk ranch is incredibly juicy and the smash burger was perfectly done. I just wish I had a larger plate. Give me room to work on this delicious food!

OMG.... I live in the neighborhood and decided to finally visit last night. I was craving a burger and it beyond satisfied my craving. One of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Juicy, succulent waygu... and a pillow bun with cheese engulfing the burger line a volcano erupting. I couldn't stop talking to my partner about how good it was. I also got fries and a glass of wine. Fries perfect and wine delicious. My only con: $17 for a miniature glass of wine that was filled half way is kinda steep. The glass should be bigger or more poured into the small small glass. Service: Friendly and fast!!! Like for real lol. Very nice gentleman and great cooks. Atmosphere: Relaxing and classy!!! Not much seating but enough. Overall, will be back weekly and often. Best food on the block for sure!!! Also, check out their wine store across the street. I love their Sake and great service!! Thanks for bringing Disco Birdies to BedStuy!

Yelp
Disco Birdies may sound playful by name, but make no mistake--this is an establishment that treats its food with precision and care. My recent visit exceeded expectations at every turn, delivering a meal that felt both indulgent and thoughtfully composed. First I would like to note that every dish paired exceptionally well with the champagne we ordered the bottle. It was a very strong example of what a great grower champagne can be. The standout of the evening was the fried chicken sandwich. Beautifully crisp, not greasy, and exceptionally well-seasoned, the chicken was paired with a bright, tangy white sauce and house-made pickles layered on a perfectly toasted bun. Every element served a purpose--nothing was excessive, nothing was missing. We also shared the chicken bites, which arrived piping hot and evenly fried, accompanied by a cool, herbaceous ranch dressing. The texture was spot-on, and they made for a satisfying small plate without feeling heavy. A light mixed greens salad provided balance to the richness of the meal--simple, fresh, and well-dressed. But perhaps the most unexpected delight came from the French fries topped with caviar. Crisp, golden shoestring fries served with a generous dollop of high-quality caviar and a subtle crème fraîche-style sauce--salty, creamy, and utterly indulgent. It's a dish that could easily be mishandled elsewhere, but here it was elegant and composed. Service was smooth and attentive, and the overall ambiance felt intimate without being pretentious. Disco Birdies isn't trying to reinvent fried chicken. What they've done instead is quietly refine it, elevating the familiar into something memorable. A welcome addition to Brooklyn's dining scene--and one I'll return to without hesitation.

Yelp
Disco Birdies is all about chicken, burgers, fries, in addition to champagne and disco! REAL TALK: LOVE their little logo of the dancing birdies - super cute! Their menu features salads, smashburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, fries, housemade soft serve, champagne, and drinks. We ordered: +the Bistro Smash - with 2 wagyu & chuck blend patties, burger sauce, and pickles; I loved that they didn't skimp out on their thinly-sliced pickles! +the Fried Chicken Sandwich - the house's signature buttermilk fried chicken, topped with white sauce and pickles +and, the Disco Disco Fries - fries topped with creme fraiche and caviar; elevated spuds for sure! Staff were fun and friendly, and the space is cozy and super cute - limited seating available. Perfect for takeout! +smashburgers and fried chicken sammies +friendly service

Yelp
Excellent smash burger! I didn't try the champagne or soft serve this time, but I will be back. Beautifully designed space with lots of attention to detail. Very friendly staff, who make you feel really taken care of. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
After seeing Disco Birdies mentioned online so often, I had to try it myself. Prices here respect your budget. Staff members show remarkably detailed care with personal consideration. I particularly enjoyed exploring their dessert menu. Strong recommendation for this restaurant.
