I love this place but the gluten free break crumbles the minute you touch it. I would not call it bread, I'd call it a crouton topping. It makes it impossible to eat sandwich. The photo was from me just picking up the sandwich. I'd recommend using Kim and Jake's GF bread. For the $3 upcharge that Dish charges, the $8 loaf pays for itself about 15X over.

Google
Delicious! The bread to meat ratio is a bit much, but at least the bread is good. The Reuben is definitely a standout! Super tasty. Also the staff is really nice, and there is a nice area for outdoor seating as well. Be prepared to spend a bit of time here; the sandwiches take a little bit of time but they are worth it.

Google
I really wanted this place to be good, but it just wasn't. I ordered the Thanksgiving sandwich which should have been packed with flavor, but it was such a sad meal. The sandwich was little more than a couple of turkey slices slathered in a very thin layer of cranberry jelly...no stuffing, no gravy. It was completely flavorless and uninspired. It was so disappointing that--still hungry and now craving the real deal--I went to the store, bought a box of stovetop stuffing, a can of cranberry sauce, and made my own version (pictured) at home that was 10x better than theirs. I only wish I took a picture of what I received at Dish Gourmet to compare side by side. You know there's a problem when you can do better than the restaurant.

Google
Sandwich lovers enjoy!! Ordered a grilled mushroom & asparagus sandwich with roasted red bell pepper bisque and a classic Reuben sandwich with glazed brussel sprouts. Both came with a delicious dye-free cucumber pickle; we also indulged in some chocolate chip cookies. Hip, artistic environment with great service. Many reviews point out that the price point is high, but I believe the quality is worth it. Ask where your food is sourced and check out calorie count to fit your needs; I found it to be reasonable.

I visited 2 years ago and loved eating the Mediterranean salad outside. Recently traveled back to Boulder, and lunch at Dish was my first stop. It did not disappoint!

Google
Small place with great sandwiches. Had an egg lox bagel with cream cheese. (The bagels are frozen so take a bit of time.) Tomato soup was great. Didn't love the coffee. They have upstart kombucha in cans.

Google
I had the pleasure of interacting with the manager Rebecca. 10/10 customer service. Seemed happy to answer any questions i had and provided the best service I've had in Colorado. Will be visiting again

BEST DELI SPOT EVER!! These sandwiches are made with love, the focaccia is fresh and absolutely delicious! I always recommend this spot to clients and will frequent it myself. Everything I’ve had has been tasty!

Yelp
They may have a new owners, my last three trips within the last six months. All three sandwiches were absolutely horrible. Scuba Steve, the dry gluten-free bread fell apart, and sandwich / salmon landed in my lap Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich, was so dry, about choked to death. Last trip I tried the bbq brisket, which was nothing but a bunch of gristle with no flavor and bread as hard as a rock. When you let them know they fell short, they don't care. You could do better by paying attention to the quality of your bread/ meats and checking with your customers, or listening to them when they bring up issues. They just don't care. My new name for this place is called "ditch" as in I will ditch this place. Never again.

Yelp
Vegan and tons of other options. I had a root beer and a cuban sandwitch. Service. Food. Cost were all great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Best sandwitch in boulder

Yelp
Really enjoy dish gourmet, wish their gf bread was better, it always falls apart. But it's quality food, a little pricey but their chicken salad and Italian sandwiches are good.

Yelp
My daughter and I wandered in here after accidentally skipping lunch because we didn't realize Color Me Mine took so long. Starving and unable to make decisions, the person taking our order was quick to offer suggestions to my daughter who was no longer interested in a breakfast burrito because/ gasp- it had eggs in it. We came during rush hour so it did take a while to get the food. I ordered a gluten free sandwich (yay celiac disease) and when it came out, the bread was obviously not gf so I had to send it back. At this point hanger had kicked in and I was imagining what type of horrible review I could write here on Yelp to vindicate both my wait and what I was assuming would be a subpar sandwich. Boy was I thankful upon taking the first bite. The in house baked gluten free bread it just something all celiac cursed individuals need in their lives. I ordered the Buff, which has a spicy kick and my taste buds rejoiced in delight. My daughter ended up not eating all of the kids grilled cheese, not because it was on focaccia bread but because it had cheese on it. Kids- am I right? It looked pretty good though and if it wouldn't through my body into three days of celiac pain from the gluten I would have devoured that too. Another must try place for any gluten free peeps in the Boulder/north Denver metro area!

Yelp
Love this place, cute, quaint, quality food and an inviting atmosphere. Been here several times, most always the food hits it out of the park! Sandwiches, cold brew and the gluten/dairy free coffee cake are . The food speaks for itself, but it is the customer service and manager's way of operating that have me a customer for life. Brought a small concern to management once, Rebecca went above and beyond to graciously hear my concern and make sure it was addressed. All other experiences have been super stellar! Really happy to support this business.

Yelp
the meat on my sandwhich tasted like eating a sidewalk. and my iced latte taste like dirty milk. i would reccomend this place for people who like to eat sidewalks. funky

Yelp
Waited more than 45 minutes for a sandwich and staff was very rude about it. Guy behind waited almost an hour. Recommend going here if you have an afternoon to waste. Extremely unhappy customer
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
I'd actually give a 4.75 star if I could. The Gobbler sandwich and chips were so tasty. The service was nice and quick. The only negative was the pickle needed more time in the pickle jar.
google avatar

Rachelle D.

Yelp
Dish always goes out of their way for any of the orders I place for work. Everyone at the office loves it and it's so delicious and there's so much variety--really unique sandwiches.

Yelp
Delicious food. very well Thought out side dishes. Quick easy place to grab a bite and probably the best you can get around if you're in a rush.

Yelp
Great local spot for breakfast & lunch! I've done pick up here a few times, and always been happy with my food. They have TONS of creative sandwich options- so everyone can find something they like. My favorites have been The Canales for breakfast and the Thanksgiving for lunch. Also love that you can do add ons to make it a boxed lunch or chose a few of their unique sides. This place is operating super well given the current covid environment. You can order online and do curbside or front door pick up. The staff seem to be following excellent safety & health precautions too. My only wish is this place was open a bit more! I'm not sure if the hours are currently limited due to covid, but I have a had a few times where I consider grabbing breakfast there but can't since it's Sunday or they aren't open yet (they currently open at 10).

Yelp
Menu has its ups and downs, but the good things are very, very good. Their Italian sandwich is outstanding, like a hoagie, but a little fancier, in a way that still satisfies the way the original does at its best. The Chook sandwich was a different story, and very unsatisfying. It was slapped together sloppily, very unevenly sauced, and just a big letdown. Worth exploring more of the menu, but they need to get rid of the things that suck.

Alan L.

Yelp
Located east a few blocks of the Pearl Street Mall, their Rueben is FANTASTIC. And the staff is super nice. 5 Stars!

Yelp
Dish Gourmet caters our office lunches twice a week and our breakfast! They're delicious, healthy, on time and have been great to work with. The portions are often a good size so we're not left with too many left overs (as long as tell them how many of us they are). They also accommodate so many of our food requirements which is amazing. Thanks for all the healthy, delicious food! FYI - their lasagna is great and so is their pulled pork!
google avatar

Maxwell Z.

Yelp
Sandwiches were delicious, definitely a dope stop with a wide range of selection when it comes to lunch. That said, either order ahead or be prepared to wait 20+ min for a hot sandwich. Ordered: Thanksgiving Sandwich - spot on, great with ciabatta bread! BBQ Brisket - better than expected!!
google avatar

Jenny P.

Yelp
We ordered the Thanksgiving Whole Shebang Dinner. FANTASTIC! I am looking forward to the next Thanksgiving in Boulder so we can order it again. Also ordered 2 Shamane's Bakery Pies to complete the meal. They were DELICIOUS. Thank you for making Thanksgiving easy and fabulous.

Yelp
Overall: great lunch spot with high quality ingredients! Food: ordered their Italian sandwich and was super impressed, Italian meats were high quality, flavorful and they had a great olive spread that added some tang. Drink case has a good assortment of izze, cream Soda, etc. Restaurant: tiny, but has a few tables inside- very quaint and feels like a mom and pop.

Yelp
I used to really like coming to this place. Last time I came here, it took 20 minutes to make a simple sandwich. Caused me to be late for meeting, never expected it to take that long to make a sandwich when it's not busy. And was given attitude when I asked. Not to mention that it cost $15 for a small sandwich now. Sorry dish, you've lost this customer and a few others he used to come here. Go to Cured instead. Bigger, better, cheaper, nicer people.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the perfect place for lunch. My wife had the Chatham sandwich with turkey, cheese, slaw, Russian dressing on rye. I had the Caprese on ciabatta. They came with chips and semi-sour pickle. They brew their own black iced tea there with complimentary refills.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
This place used to be consistently delicious. Fresh, healthy, and nearby for a quick lunch. These days the quality has dropped off and it is quite inconsistent. Had to call in more than once to talk about an order not being made to order. Unfortunately this go-to spot isn't my spot any longer.
google avatar

Kristina R.

Yelp
Disappointing. My partner's "piglet" sandwich was fine, nothing special. My cuban sandwich was about half the size, on a burnt corner crust of bread with almost no meat.
google avatar

Yagiz E.

Yelp
This is a place that I really like. They have friendly staff, delicious sandwiches and salads, and a great outdoor sitting area.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
This place rocks. I've only had one thing off of the menu - the Cuban sandwich. But it is the best darn Cuban sandwich I've ever had so I keep ordering it over and over. My only suggestion is to also offer a larger size, so there's more deliciousness!! In addition to the tasty food, the people are always super friendly, so the Dish is always a pleasure to visit. See you soon!

Yelp
This place is just the best. About a 30 second walk from my apartment so it's been my go-to for a lunch sandwich or quick breakfast burrito and coffee. Consistently amazing. Easy online ordering and pickup, fast, great prices, high quality ingredients, never once messed up an order. Plus a variety of great vegetarian options.

Yelp
There are lots of other places in Boulder to get a decent sandwich, hero, sub, whatever...but if you want a damn tasty gourmet sammich, goto Dish. Yeah, I've been waiting to use "sammich" in a Yelp review, cause I understand that's what kids these days call a tasty sandwich with that extra special something, ya know, goodness, lovin', or care. I believe Dish has no equal here in Boulder in the art of stacking fine gourmet edibles between ciabatta or some other fresh delicious bread. This is tasty tasty comfort food - all the best ingredients - fine cured meats, house-roasted meats & veggies, fancy speads, made fresh to order. Amazing variety of sides for a small place like this. So I read that Dish's Chef Brian was CIA-trained (Hyde Park, NY) and originally from the east coast. Shit yeah, that's the guy whose sandwichs I wanna eat! So I'm gonna add some pics of these sammich creations soon, so you can see what you're missing. Bad news? Well, Dish has been popular for a while and is often busy; there's only seating for about 16 inside the place. And a meal will run ya $9-10, w/o a drink, at least, but portions are mostly generous. Hey, you CANNOT get a sandwich like this anywhere else (around here) - yeah, it's definitely worth it for me. I'll keep working thru their many sandwiches, and if all turns out as well as so far, I'd be looking at adding a star.
google avatar

Lou P.

Yelp
I'm surprised there are only 8 reviews. Dish is the best sandwich in Boulder, hands down. Think it's pricey? The standard price for lunch anywhere in town seems to be around $9, unless you are still eating Happy Meals. For less than $10, you'll get the best, freshest possible ingredients; handmade to your specifications. Show up at the stroke of noon, and seating might be an issue. Wait, it's worth it. Many drive across town to eat here regularly.

Coal M.

Yelp
Cool spot with a huge variety of breakfast and lunch items. Then bread is excellent. Sidewalk seating. No decaf coffee.

Yelp
Yum! Yum! Yum! Not only is the food great but it makes you feel good too. That is because the food is all hand made with quality ingredients that when available are locally sourced. Those elements make your insides feel good as well as your spirit. I was able to try both soups available today as they gave me samples. Each was delish. The one I picked cost me just $4 and came with a baguette! A value in Boulder?! Yes! There are sandwiches and salads as well. All are wonderful. Seating is casual and eclectic at high top tables. You will be surrounded by local art hanging on the walls, adding to the atmosphere and local values of the business.

Yelp
This little sandwich shop is in a delightful location. We were able to sit on a great outdoor patio while enjoying our sandwiches. My wife and I ordered the Mapleton and the Italian to split. The Mapleton was my favorite of the two sandwiches. A good combination of flavors. The Italian was was my wife's favorite of the two sandwiches. The bread, cheese, and olives were great on this selection. My wife also couldn't resist ordering a cookie. She ordered a snicker doodle and everyone at the table enjoyed a piece of it. Overall this sandwich shop was good but fairly pricey. I would like to come back to try other selections.

Yelp
Had the Bloody Good Salad and a cup of Tomato Bisque soup. Salad was wonderful and full of fresh ingredients. Loved the dressing! Wanted to lick the cup clean after eating the soup. Wished I'd gotten the bowl instead. Service was prompt and friendly. Tables in an out so if you want to sit and relax in the shade then this is the place. Will be back!

Yelp
We have catered lunch from Dish Gourmet every Wednesday for the last 14 months. The food is great, different every week, and always on time. We have vegans, gluten free folks, vegetarians and meat eaters. Dish makes sure to make everyone happy!! We will continue to order from Dish every Wednesday and everyone comes to work expecting something great. Dish never lets us down !! Great people, great food, great service. There is nothing I would change. Keep up the great work !! Tom Spielberger, CFO

Yelp
As promised, I returned to Dish to sample some sandwiches off their gigantic, supposedly-awesome sandwich menu. Gigantic? Indeed. Awesome? I wouldn't say that. Creative, yes. Something-for-everyone, yes. Look at this menu and your eyes will glaze over. I managed to zero in on the Mahalo, which contained seared ahi tuna, cucumber, wasabi mayo, and some greens, all on a baguette. (Dan was like, "I knew you'd choose that one - it was obvious." Yes it was. Show me seared fish on a sandwich and it's over.) The fillings were good, if paltry. The bread, however, was sitting-out-all-day stale. It was tough to get my teeth halfway through. I ended up eating it open face but it was still like eating yummy spicy fish on reinforced cardboard. So I figured, maybe it's just the baguette. I was going to the pool a few days later and I needed a sandwich to bring, so I stopped at Dish again and ordered the Gobbler, a turkey-bacon-avocado-muenster monster on ciabatta that promised to fill me up. Fill me up it did. With another loaf of cold, stale, bread. Again, the fillings were all right, but nothing special. At $9+ per sandwich, I feel like I'd better be blown away, and better not be served stale bread. It should be coming out of the oven, pillowy and with steam rising invitingly from it, for that price.
google avatar

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Fish has a great selection of sandwiches. I love that they sell their breakfast sandwiches all day long. My favorite is the Which Came First - two eggs cooked to order with Muenster cheese and tender belly bacon on ciabatta. Consistent and delicious.

Yelp
I come here for lunch every couple weeks. Great service, even when there's a long line at rush hour. Staff is very competent, polite, and efficient. The food is fantastic; I haven't ordered anything I didn't like, but I keep coming back to the Caprese Sandwich with homemade chips and pickle. Menu has lots of variety and some great vegetarian options. I really appreciate that all their packaging for to-go orders contains no plastic. Overall, a friendly spot for a quick, delicious lunch at competitive prices.

Yelp
We used Dish twice for our wedding weekend. Dish catered our rehearsal brunch to a park in Longmont. They were really easy to work with, willing to communicate via email for extra ease, and gave great advice about what to order and how much. The food was incredible (frittata, quiche, pastries, potatoes) and guest were really happy. Dish also catered brownies for our reception. If you haven't tried their brownies...do! They have a slightly crispy outside and gooey inside. They are rich, real chocolate! They provided many different kinds (coconut, cherry, peanut better, m&m, etc) and even macaroons for our dairy free/gluten free guests. They did an incredible job for a reasonable price and I would use them again and again!

Yelp
If it weren't for the free sandwich card, I would have never stepped foot into this shop. It's in a very cute location on Pearl St. As I stepped in for lunch, it was quite busy but the staff were friendly and acknowledged everyone. I had their Italian sandwich which wasn't that great. It came with chips and a pickle. For the price, the portion was definitely too small. The pickle didn't have the taste I wanted it to have. Not very vinegary and had a weird after taste. The sandwich was just way too small and barely had any meat on it. Although the flavors were ok, the bread was very hard and it hurt my jaw going through it. It was nice to try since I could try it for free, but would I come here again? Nope. I'll probably just go to Half Fast subs
google avatar

Amy F.

Yelp
Very mixed review. The blueberry muffin was so dry it was basically inedible. I was really, really hungry and still just threw it away after two bites. Zero stars. Skip the baked goods! The Kenai salmon sandwich was a bit dry and salty- it needed more cream cheese spread and a lot fewer capers. The house-smoked salmon was good, but nothing super special. Two stars, not worth the price. The pork sandwich we had was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Great balance of flavors (although I would have liked a bit more cheese). Five stars. All the sides we tried were also killer, great flavor combos with well executed ingredients! Four stars. Pickles were not to my taste (half-sours I think) but my dad loved them. Three stars.

Yelp
Because of your reviews and my original preview of Dish's food at a catered luncheon last year, I put it on my list of restaurants to try. So I went in today for lunch. Chef-prepared food, locally grown, mostly organic, and affordable? Yes, absolutely. What's a superlative word for "beyond excellent" that I haven't already used in my oft-repetitive reviews? Whatever that word is, it is my word for Dish. For right around $10 total you can get a gourmet sandwich, with either chips or a small salad which was actually not so small. Good spinach salad. Eclectic and original selection of artisan cheeses. Highest quality house-roasted meats. Everything so fresh, including the Ciabatta bread. Tasty salad dressings. Even the iced tea from a pitcher was unique, fresh, and potent. There is also a deli case with lots of yummy looking food in it. And remember, they do cater. With their excellent food and wide array of choices and reasonable prices, I'm sure catering would be a win/win proposition.

Yelp
I stopped into Dish Gourmet today after a relaxing massage at Twig Salon and Spa for Hawt on Yelp week. I've passed this place several times in my Boulder jaunts and always found it appealing - very small, maybe 6 or 7 tables, but a very inviting food counter and seemingly endless sandwich selections. I especially like that all their meat comes from independent Colorado farms, so you can feel good while you're noshing. There's a little merch section too, where you can buy things like tshirts, specialty popcorn, and sauces and stuff if I remember right. I'm a sucker for Thanksgiving sandwiches - you know, turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. This one was accompanied with a small side of gravy, chips, and a fresh, delicious pickle. I don't normally like my sandwiches in ciabatta bread, but the bread still tasted fresh even late in the day. The only thing I would have changed was the cranberry sauce - while flavorful, I like mine a bit on the sweeter side so you get sweet and savory mixing together. I shared a garbanzo bean salad, and that topped with a tea just made the perfect little meal. Glad I finally stopped in. I'm a fan!
google avatar

Kat B.

Yelp
Food is good. Bread was kinda hard. Bathroom is clean and smells like weed (ayyyyy!). Very good vibes coming from this place and the people working here. Probably because of all the weed they smoked in the bathroom.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
I was pretty blown away by both of the sandwiches I tried here. The Thanksgiving sandwich really did taste like Thanksgiving dinner, and you might think that it's a bad idea to put stuffing on a sandwich, but you're wrong. At least they managed to pull it off. I had the BBQ brisket sandwich and as soon as I bit into it Brisket, barbecue sauce and cheese started flying out and I thought, wow, this a really good sandwich. Then I thought out loud, "Of course I ordered this, I'm wearing a solid white shirt." But somehow I was able to keep all of the delicious things falling out of that sandwich away from the shirt. Most of their sides looked like you could make a meal of them alone. I had a side of chick pea salad and it filled with lemon and herbs and probably had 15 different ingredients in it. One thing that's interesting is how large the menu is in relation to the size of the dining room. But there is a decent bit of outdoor seating as well.

Yelp
Dish is testament to the saying "SOQNOP" . For those of you who didn't read business books during the 90s that means Sell on Quality, Not on Price" We went to Dish today for the second or third time and it was better than ever. Everything was fresh, delicious and as others have noted made there that day. My cornmeal crusted catfish was a great blend of flavors and textures. It's not too often that you can get through a big bowl of tomato bisque and not be tired of it by the time you're done. Don't go if you're looking for fast, cheap, quiet, or comfortable seating. Go if you want to eat great food, well prepared, with care.

Julie C.

Yelp
Dish Gourmet is one of those restaurants that is well set up to survive the COVID craziness. They have great sandwiches, and friendly and efficient staff. Their on line ordering makes it easy to order exactly what you want - and they make it the way you order it, as well! Their food is always good. I am happy to support this local business. Make it easy on you and on them and order online.

Yelp
* Star one is for their large selection of mouth watering goodies ** Star two is for their healthy selection of mouth watering goodies *** The third star is for representing tons of local Colorado food suppliers **** Our fourth star is for its cute central location (Star five was taken away due to hard-to-find parking and limited seating options) Dish Gourmet is located on Boulder's popular Pearl street and is a great small eatery that offers salads and sandwiches, as well as prepared gourmet goodies like seafood enchiladas, BBQ ribs, and homemade gnocchi with bolognese sauce as well as other mouth watering yummies. You never see this place empty and it is the perfect location to stop by for a lunch or dunch by yourself or with a friend. This is also an ideal spot to pick up appetizers such as cured meats, olives and cheeses. I came here with my pregnant friend not too long ago and she was out of control... Ordering cupcakes before her meal even arrived, (*gasp) and lacking eye contact due to her longing look at the cold cut case. If the service was not as fast as it was, I am sure she would have torn the place down! Strategy: This place is small, and with hardly any seats. It is one of those kinds of places that you notice one table as soon as you walk in, so you put your coat and your water bottle on the table so nobody else takes it. Avoid this drama and go during off-beak lunch hours. You know, 1:00-3:00pm.
google avatar

Kewl K.

Yelp
Dish is cute (and tiny) cafe on East Pearl street, with 2 tables outside and about 8 small tables inside. They specialize is tasty sandwiches and salads which are written on a large chalkboard in colorful chalk hanging on the wall above the food prep area. My favorite is chicken salad. With your sandwich order you automatically get chips, or for a buck you can add yummy sides like green beans. Inside the glass case they have delicious homemade breakfast menu items, sides and other treats. I really like dish on a warm day so I can sit outside at the shaded tables and watch the pearl street traffic in the breeze. When I'm in a hurry, they have 15 minute parking out front so it is easy to run in, get a sandwich made quickly (they are awesome about that) and dash out. Dish is just all around pleasant like that.
google avatar

Beezer B.

Yelp
I am a loyal and longtime patrons Dish! Yes, the sandwiches really are the best in town for adults who actually care about what they eat. But, have you had their sides? They're so worth the upgrade!
google avatar

Kiesha R.

Yelp
I could have loved the Thanksgiving something-or-other sandwich I had if it had been better seasoned. Conceptually, it was awesome - cranberry sauce, stuffing, fresh turkey, all on yummy foccacia. But it just didn't have a lot of flavor, which was disappointing. Nice spot, friendly service - maybe some of the other selections are better executed.

Alison M.

Yelp
We had Dish Gourmet cater our small (but very important!) graduation party for our family recently, and the food was fantastic. We ordered the brisket with rolls (very nice quality) and coleslaw, and there was more than enough--not only did the 10 of us fill our plates that night, we were able to feed 6 of us again the next day! The food was hot and ready exactly on time. Rachel was great to work with, and everything went without a hitch.

James G.

Yelp
I really liked the concept of this place, locally sourced ingredients, healthy sounding menu, but as far as the execution? It left all my expectations crushed. I am a huge proponent of the slow food movement, but this is far from that, this is more like they took quality locally sourced ingredients & butchered it, nothing spoke out, & all the quality was wasted. The in house roasted pork in the Cuban sandwich was dry & flavorless, the Roast Turkey was over done, dry and unseasoned, the prosciutto was barely there, the breads were all stale. The side dishes were flavorless. If I could honestly have a better sandwich at subway what's the point?? Who cares if it's locally sourced provisions if you dont know how to cook it anyhow. Usually when I see a restaurant named something like dish, spoon etc, I run, boy I regret not doing it this time. Menu tricked me, I hope this doesn't happen to you.
