We’ve been to Dish Society SEVERAL times now — for brunch, lunch, and happy hour — and every single visit always has some sort of hit! The food here is fresh, local, and absolutely delicious, with so much care clearly put into every dish! The vibe inside is super cute, clean, and welcoming, with a small outdoor patio that’s perfect for a sunny Austin day and even if Austin's weird weather comes into play part of the outdoor seating is also covered. When we've gone it’s never felt overly crowded (except one time during a morning rush, but we can see why) and the customer service has been phenomenal every time — from staff offering great recommendations to keeping tables spotless and making sure guests are happy. We’ve loved everything we’ve tried, but a few standouts have been the Texas hot chicken sandwich (crispy, juicy, sweet, and savory perfection), the smoked salmon avocado toast (so fresh and flavorful), ranch-style eggs, and the grilled pesto chicken sandwich. During happy hour, we grabbed the burger, some bites and drinks, with the burger for sure being a must — and the team even offered to cut the burger in half since we mentioned we were sharing. Small touches like that go a long way! Their happy hour is also a great deal and definitely worth checking out. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t skip dessert — the Proud Pies they source from Houston are dangerously good. We still need to go back just to do a full pie tasting! The white chocolate pretzel bread pudding was warm, rich, and gave off total almond croissant vibes. Oh, and don’t sleep on the mimosa flight — or their Mug Club, where you can purchase a YETI at their location and get free coffee refills when you bring it in. Genius! All around, Dish Society is one of those rare spots that nails fresh, local food, great service, and good vibes every time. We highly recommend it! We'll be back, obviously!

Google
Happy Hour menu and cocktails are the best deal in town. The staff are very friendly. Cute interior. As far as the food, it's a bit bland and somewhat lack luster... We had the avocado toast. It was good but a bit strange with the sweetness of the marscapone spread. The hummus plate was OK. Not much flavor there. The truffle Mac-n-cheese grew on me after several bites... I would definitely come back for the cocktails.

Google
Good counter-service restaurant with an excellent happy hour. It's a relaxed place to get a drink, indoor and outdoor section, good service. Vibe is very casual. Not a great place for a date, but a good place to hang with friends or to grab lunch.

Google
Friendly service and good quality delicious food made with fresh ingredients. We had the Brisket, Eggs and Smoked Gouda Grits, Chicken Salad Sandwich and Pretzels with Queso. The Brisket was tender and flavorful. Chicken Salad Sandwich was delicious on tasty multigrain bread. The pretzels with Queso were a yummy snack. Beautiful restaurant but a bit noisy.

We had a bit of a hiccup during our visit—due to a mix-up in the kitchen, our order was delayed and we waited about 50 minutes. But honestly, what could have been a frustrating situation turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had, thanks to the exceptional service from Mark. From the moment he realized what happened, Mark went above and beyond. He was kind, professional, and sincerely apologetic. Not only did he take the time to explain the situation and keep us updated, but he also completely made things right by refunding our checks and even bringing out some extra complimentary items from the menu. His attentiveness and care turned a delay into a chance to feel truly valued as a guest. And the food was phenomenal. My friend and I got the Memorial Trail Scramble and it was so flavorful and fresh —well worth the wait. Despite the initial issue, we left with full hearts and full stomachs. Thanks to Mark’s exceptional service and the quality of the food, this restaurant has earned a spot on our favorites list. We’ll absolutely be back—and recommending it to friends!

Google
Not sure how this place has such high reviews. Grits and pancakes were tasteless, chips were burnt, and overall most of our table did not enjoy their food. We ordered using the QR codes on the table and somehow 2/3 of our table ended up with to go orders instead of table service, leading to a disjoint and disappointing group brunch experience. On the positive, the juice was good, bacon was decent, and staff was kind.

Google
Checked out Dish Society on South 1st today and ended up staying way longer than planned. Came in for lunch, but the vibe was so good I got a few hours of work done too. It’s that sweet spot—quiet enough to focus, but still lively if you’re just hanging with friends. I had the Citrus Glazed Salmon with quinoa—fresh, flavorful, and filling without feeling heavy. I also tried the grit balls, the charcoal lemonade (refreshing and different) and a matcha latte, which was really good. Food’s healthy without being boring, prices are fair, and the coffee lineup makes it easy to turn lunch into a full afternoon spot. Definitely adding this to my go-to list.

Google
We came for brunch and ate on the patio with our dogs. The service was amazing, food came out quick, drinks were to die for, and the garden salad was the best salad I'd eaten in my life! We will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
I wanted this to be my new favorite spot, but it wasn't. The smoked salmon avocado toast was just okay--nothing special. The toast tasted like the kind you'd get from a cheap grocery store. The pancake was good, but honestly nothing better than what I can make at home. The restaurant is cute, service was good and close by, so I wanted to love it, but sadly it didn't win me over.

Yelp
Dish Society was okay but nothing to get excited about. It was a busy morning and I thought they forgot about me for a few minutes but then once they took my order the food did seem to come out quickly. Most of the dishes I tried looked better on their website. I had the memorial trail scramble and thought it was just okay, the chicken was a bit dry and the eggs were just boring. The granola bowl which the server recommended was good. I also tried the texas pecan pesto pasta which was good. My favorite dish which I would get again was the seared chimi steak tacos - they were excellent. Dish Society is a good for young families and there were a lot of them that morning. One little boy was shooting his noisy plastic toy gun in my direction. Parents? Parents anyone? It's fine - I played with toy guns too when I was a little kid, but never in a million years would my parents have allowed them in a public place like that.

Yelp
Solid brunch spot in Bouldin Creek. We split the banana pancake ($7.50) and the Southwest Scramble ($17). The portions are good and everything is well made and fresh. The vanilla cortado was also sweet and wonderful. It was pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon. The interior is clean and bright and located on the bottom floor of an apartment complex. Order at the counter, take a number, and choose a table.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner before heading to the theater. We wanted a place that focuses on fresh and local ingredients, but wasn't too fussy. We also didn't have a lot of time. This was perfect. We ordered our food and drinks at the counter, and then found a table outside. Service was friendly and quick. Loved the decor inside and out. Food was delicious and well priced. So glad we tried this place and will definitely be back.

Yelp
If there's a place for amazing service, friendly workers, quality & quick food, and a cute location, then this is it. Walked in, and was greeted immediately with a friendly welcome. There was someone helping us through the line and he was extremely helpful in reserving a table and lifted the mood. The food came out quick and was great portions. I got the Grilled Pesto Chicken Sandwich and it was such a lovely balance of flavors. Easy to consume, not too heavy but still filling. I went with my two friends and they also had a positive experience. Will definitely return and would recommend!

Yelp
Beautiful environment with indoor and outdoor seating. Farm to fork. Very good menu and enjoyable employees.

Yelp
Have heard wonderful things about Dish Society. They were absolutely not wrong. So many wonderful voices to choose from for brunch or lunch. We had the breakfast tacos, shrimp and grits and all American breakfast. Also a Bloody Mary and the prettiest mimosa ever! Get there early before the crowd for sure. There is validated parking for 2 hours in the garage around the corner. Ambiance is fun and has a chill vibe. Lots of groups so noise levels can be a bit much but when it is cooler I bet the out side dining is perfection.

Yelp
Yummy!! Brought a new staff member here for lunch on her first day of work and this was such a delightfully, tasty restaurant! I ordered the shrimp and grits and my colleague ordered the brisket and eggs- both of which were soooooo good and flavorful! One of us ordered a freshly squeezed juice and another got an iced chai latte, also both very delicious. There is no table service, just order at the counter when you're ready, and staff are so nice. The decor on the inside is also sooooo quaint and modern- liked very much! They'll also validate your parking if you parked in the parking garage nearby. Highly recommend checking out!!

Yelp
Dish Society is such a great lunch spot for some coworking or just an amazing meal. Rachel and I went to do both, we had some lunch and also did some coworking. Rachel ordered a salad with some salmon and i ordered the hot chicken sandwich with a side of truffle mac n cheese. This is genuinely one of the best dishes i've had at a new lunch spot recently, the chicken sandwich was HUGE and the filet was falling out of the sides from how big it was. Not only was the sandwich huge, but oh my gosh it was so yummy, it was sweet but spicy and incredibly flavorful. The truffle mac n cheese was also absolutely amazing, i was blown away by how good it was. It's creamy and flavorful but also has the crunchiness on top which adds a great texture. The service was fast and the restaurant was pretty empty for lunch time on a weekday, but i was surprised after i tasted how good the food was. Definitely recommend for a great lunch spot near downtown!

Yelp
This is an order at the counter and they will bring it to your table kind of place - very casual and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food seemed like farm to table in terms of options and freshness. I enjoyed the grilled shrimp with truffle Mac & cheese and a tortilla soup. They also have a lot of pie options - we tried the silken pie and it was delicious but I wish it was more on the dark chocolate side vs milk chocolate.

Yelp
We came here for a Friday dinner in late June. The place was not full. So we were happy we didn't have to wait at all. By this time of the year, the temperature outside was warm. We initially sat inside but there was a screaming kid inside and the dining room inside amplified the sound. So we moved and grabbed a table outside. It was not bad in a shade. I ordered the poke salmon bowl. It was yummy and quite the right portion size for me, which probably means too small for most people. Ppl in my group liked their food. The spicy strawberry marg was meh. We might come by again to try out other dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was so good I'm in awe. The crispy chicken Caesar was so refreshing and full of flavor, the truffle Mac n cheese was amazing

Yelp
I, for one, support the expanding Dish Society empire. This is now their second location in Austin and sixth overall. I can't speak to the shops in Houston, but this new one has the edge of Mueller for their totally stress-free parking. Use the garage and get it validate for 2 hours, no muss, no fuss. Naturally, the thing that makes me want to drive the further distance is the food. They menu is careful to include options for everyone, spanning traditional brunch/egg dishes to Tex-Mex and a touch of the Mediterranean. The new Vegetarian (vegan by nature) Pita Wrap is a winner by any measure, with a soft flatbread swaddling tahini-rich hummus, crispy plant-based protein (I'm guessing a Beyond or Impossible patty?), and fresh veg and pickled onions that sparkle with mint and dill. You get all that an a pile of chips, literally. They're thick sliced kettle style and actually worth eating, not just some bulk plate filler. This is a great place to bring the family. Kids eat free every Tuesday, too!

Yelp
Food - 4 stars Service - 4 stars Ambiance -3.5 stars This is a cute little place. Good food, good menu offerings and friendly service. Seating is not very comfortable as it is mostly hard except for the very limited number of booths which are more communal type unless you have a larger party. We had the spicy chicken and biscuits with gravy. It was good and gravy was plentiful. We also had the brisket and eggs. This was delicious, but I ordered the eggs over easy and they were over hard. This is counter service only at this time. There is a QR code on the table that says you may order via the QR code, but it did not work. Coffee and sodas are also at a self-serve station. They serve a nice variety of coffee drinks and wine and beer. There is also a nice patio. Oh! And the best part is they validate for the attached parking garage! This is a huge bonus on S. 1st St. We will definitely return here whether it's for breakfast, brunch or lunch!

Yelp
Dish society might be my new favorite brunch spot. There is an ample amount of seating and it is well lit. I came early on a Saturday before the morning rush. I had a spicy strawberry margarita, which was refreshing. My partner and I ordered beignets for a sweet start. They were freshly baked and came with a delicious sauce. I only wish I had more. I ordered the breakfast skillet for a savory finish. The gravy gave the dish a great texture with the potatoes, sausage and eggs. The portion was quite large so I got to enjoy it at home as well. I would definitely return to try a different dish.

Kiran H.

Yelp
Such a cute place. They had both indoor and outside seating. Validated parking, which was nice. You can order in line or using the app at the table. Folks there are attentive and efficient. Food was served timely. It was fresh and tasty. The fresh juice was great! Would recommend a visit here.

Yelp
Love this Place! There are a LOT of options on this menu! Lots to play with. Food is fresh and the pies are baked IN HOUSE. The mocktails are epic. (I don't drink alcohol so AWESOME!!!) I am a sucker for gluten free pancakes. They were winners!!! I wish they had real maple syrup but they team brought out honey for me and it made it all perfect. We sat outside and it was awesome! MARC was probably the best part of the experience. He came out and made sure we were 100% taken care of. He is the reason we felt this place so much. The whole team is solid, so let's make sure not to discount that. Go there. We'll definitely be back!!!

Yelp
Highly suggest! Amazing high quality food for amazing prices. Check out their Social Hour menu - it doesn't get better than this!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite quick, easy, and healthy meal. I love that the atmosphere feels like a restaurant, however it is counter service, which is great with a large group of friends. Their HH is one of the best deals in town. I probably go here at least once per week. I really like the Caesar salad and lettuce wraps. My boyfriend loves the fried chicken sandwich- it's MASSIVE.
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
Service - quick and friendly! People were very cool! They also gave us parking validation! Ambiance - very modern vibe yet also diner vibes that make you feel homey Food - YUM!!!! Beignet bites were SO GOOD OMG! I am still thinking about them. The brisket and eggs were also very tasty. They were also nice to accommodate to our egg preferences lol - both members of my party like them differently. And then the coffee was so good - honestly was delicious black which I don't think a lot of the time! But with cream, send me to heaven with the coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service even better. The restaurant is beautiful and clean inside. And kids eat free on Tuesdays. What's not to love? My family now has a new go to when we're undecided for dinner. Keep up tbe great work DS!

Yelp
I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE! Okay, so, this is a super cool, non-pretentious, fresh, friendly, affordable, and stylish restaurant. Your date will think you are super smart and savvy. Food is locally sourced and very creative. I had the Super Salad and added crispy fried chicken. (To balance the health quality.) But next time, I'm ordering the Watermelon salad ... it has goat cheese, tahini, arugula, strawberries... dude! This place is super cool. Check them out. Oh, and I had a few of the alcohol drinks ... Lavender Blush, Spicy Strawberry Marg, and what was really great was the Bartenders Breakfast Shot, made of Jameson, maple syrup, cream, and espresso. I even made a video of it and sent it to my friends. The bill was only $50. Que magnífico!

Thomas V.

Yelp
This is an excellent local chain restaurant that knows what it is doing. The ambiance is excellent. The service was over the top on all of our visits. The Gouda grits, the bacon, and the breakfast tacos are very nicely prepared and the serving size was great. Recommended!

Yelp
Great happy hour deals including bites, burgers, and delicious cocktails! Very friendly staff & they validate parking! Looking forward to trying other items on their menu!

Yelp
Went in for the first time tonight. Food was amazing. I would think a great spot for lunch when you want a fresh salad or sandwich. I got the Super salad and added shrimp. Great new local business!

Yelp
Dish Society is one of my favorite restaurants, so I was excited to hear they're opening a second location in Austin. I checked it out during their soft opening, and everything was as amazing as expected. I decided to branch out and try some new things, so I ordered the Salmon Avocado Toast which turned out to be practically an entire salad on top of some avocado toast! I added an egg to the top, and the combination of salmon, cream cheese, avocado, egg, arugula, onion, and whole grain bread worked together deliciously. I'm not really an avocado toast person. I actually don't think I've had it before. It just sounds boring. But this one was anything but boring, and worth ordering! I also tried their watermelon salad, which I'll have to replicate at home, possibly to take as a side dish to our next church potluck. The watermelon, strawberries, greens, cheese (goat or feta?) and vinaigrette made a good, unexpected combination. Of course I also had to get one of their browned butter chocolate chip cookies. All the staff was extra helpful and friendly. I sat outside and watched the world go by on South First street. They have a nice covered patio area with tables and even some comfortable chairs, along with their normal inside dining room. It helps to know they validate parking at the attached parking garage, but since I wasn't aware of this, I parked about a block away on the street. I'm not sure if I'll end up going to this location or their Meuller location more, but it's nice to have this option!

Troy A.

Yelp
love this place... delicious southern comfort items with a twist. loved the baked items too. great place

Yelp
Just tried out Dish. They are fantastic! They are very new and "working out the kinks". However, I experienced no kinks. Food was delicious and what we ordered, service was fantastic. Everyone was so kind and went above and beyond. We will be back and you should too!

Sacrificial L.

Yelp
Tried dish society for the first time. Ordered the southwest scramble, it was pretty good portion but wish there was a little bit more flavor. After adding hot sauce it tasted awesome. You go up to a counter to order and then they bring the food to you. It was pretty busy on a Saturday during lunch time so prepare for that. Would maybe go back to try some other items on the menu. Definitely a place with more healthier options.

Yelp
Was there yesterday, cute place and very tasty food! Service was lovely and my husband and I had a great time

Yelp
Super yummy food and well priced. The actual restaurant is super nice with nice decors. They do validate parking which is great.

Yelp
Nice variety of offerings when we went for lunch at the Houston property last month. Hubby had a breakfast dish that he said it was good. I had a chicken basil sandwich that I really enjoyed. Their pies had been recommended so we tried the coconut cream and a dark cherry. They were pretty good, not great. And at $7 a slice, maybe worth sharing a piece!

Patricia C.

Yelp
Anna and Nelly are the best. We had several adjustments to our order and they handled them very well they both continued to check on us throughout our visit

Yelp
I looove that this place has so many meal options! The staff is friendly and the service is quick, perfect for a lunch break from work.

Yelp
5 Stars! Dish Society was truly a wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food! We started with the pretzels and queso, and fried grit balls as appetizers--both were amazing! For our main courses, we had the chicken ancho bowl, steak tacos, and pesto chicken pasta. Each dish was packed with flavor! My daughter got the kids' chicken tenders, and I kept sneaking bites because they were so good! For dessert, we enjoyed a gooey chocolate chip cookie and a slice of coconut cream pie. The entire experience was fantastic! Highly recommend Dish Society to anyone looking for a kid-friendly spot with tasty food and easy parking. Can't wait to come back and try brunch!

Sharon M.

Yelp
Fantastic breakfast PANCAKES with quinoa, chia seeds, coconut flakes, & berries was so yummy Hubby had HOUSE OMELETTE three vital farms eggs, spinach, shallots, crimini mushrooms, white cheddar, & side of skillet potatoes. Self order and they deliver to the table Relaxing ambiance Some cool old cookbooks Reasonable price

Robin S.

Yelp
Love the new Dish Society's location on South 1st in Austin! Great covered patio space! Cool vibe inside. Food is great! Something for everybody. The seasonal watermelon salad is on the menu now. Strawberries, arugula, tx goat cheese, cucumber, shaved red onion, mint, tajin, lime vinaigrette! So yummy!! Food is locally sourced and they have great gluten free and vegetarian options.
google avatar

Jenna S.

Yelp
Highly recommend Dish Society! Everyone is so friendly. The menu is beautiful. Everything is delicious! Reasonable prices. Easy parking too! Win, win, win! Shout out to Marc & Joshua who have served me here - always with a smile and positive attitude.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Found it online and decided to give it a try. Wow their food is amazing, and cheap and the service is super nice, the ladies did an amazing job! Kiddos! I will be back soon, ambiance is cool too!

Dale B.

Yelp
Had a hamburger during happy hour. dense 80/20 beef. did not care for it (was very tough). 1/2 the burger was medium, 1/2 was medium rare as if there was something wrong with the heat. Fries were good, Got pie to go, looks yummy. Service was great. If I go back, it would not be for the $10 happy hour burger. cute restaurant, but the music they play is terrible, imo.

Frank V.

Yelp
Service and food were fantastic. We ate there this weekend and my kids, brother and I loved it. Food was fantastic, fountain drink options for kids were "healthier", coffee self serve bar was great, and food looked and tasted great. We sat outside and everything was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The details/accents on the kids pancakes is what had me deciding I would be leaving a yelp review. Gina was our cashier/host and was insanely welcoming and knowledgeable. I'll be going back.

Ken P.

Yelp
I ate at the new Dish Society with my wife and friends yesterday afternoon. I ordered the Dish Society burger with the optional Pecan Salad. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The Chef came out to our table to introduce themself a few minutes after our food arrived. I couldn't be happier. At 66 years old, I've had a lot of burgers in my day and this one ranks near the top. Service was top notch and the setting was relaxed and comfortable.

Yelp
amazing top to bottom !!!! service food ambiance!!!!! fantastic food and im very picky !!! manager was amazing server at register amazing!!!

Yelp
The place left a good impression. The food was delicious, everything looked fresh and attractive. The service was attentive, but at some points it seemed a little slow. The interior is neat, the atmosphere is cozy - it's nice to sit together and with children. Some little things can still be improved, but in general we were satisfied. If you are nearby, you should visit.

Gloria M.

Yelp
This is my go to brunch and lunch spot in Austin. I love that they have coffee and Matcha lattes as well as plenty of healthy whole food meals to choose from. I also love that you just order and sit down and have your food delivered. I really prefer that style of service. It makes everything so fast. The food always comes out really fast. The staff are always super friendly if anything ever goes wrong, they're always readily available to replace or fix something and there's always something to please everyone so I love that too.
