Dishoom Canary Wharf

Visited on Saturday, 24th January 2026 for a birthday meal of a friend. It is a very busy restaurant, and we were issued with a buzzer even though we had booked. The wait wasn't long, but there isnt allot of space to stand around. Once we were seated in a booth, the look and vibe were very good, but the noise level was quite high, which didn't help when the waitress had the highest-pitched but also quietest voice I have come across. Once ordered, our food was delivered quickly and was of very high quality, and as the dessert was for a birthday, it was minus ed off the bill, which was a nice touch, though the auto inclusion of a service charge at a higher than 10% isn't something I like to see, especially at the prices charged at this chain.

The Culinary Experience The food remains some of the most consistent and flavorful Indian cuisine in the city. Here’s a breakdown of the highlights from our table: • The Bhel Puri: This was the perfect starter. A vibrant, crunchy bowl of puffed rice, pomegranate seeds, and tangy tamarind—it hits every taste bud at once. • The House Black Daal: You cannot visit Dishoom without ordering this. It is dark, rich, and deeply creamy, clearly simmered for hours to achieve that signature depth. • Gunpowder Potatoes: These were a standout—perfectly smoky and spicy, with a lovely char that pairs beautifully with the cooling yogurt dip. For some reason it was not that great, was a little disappointed • Fresh Breads: The naan and rotis arrived warm and pillowy, the ideal vessels for scooping up every last drop of the daal. Drinks & Detail Even the non-alcoholic options are thoughtful. Their "Alcohol-Removed" menu is impressively curated, featuring everything from a crisp Kingfisher Zero to complex botanical brews like the Collider Unwind Session IPA with ashwagandha. It’s rare to see a restaurant put as much effort into their sober menu as their cocktail list. The Verdict Dishoom Canary Wharf successfully captures the bustling, soulful energy of the old Irani cafés of Bombay while providing a polished, high-end experience. The service is seamless, the food is soul-warming, and the hospitality begins the second you step toward the door. Tip: If there’s a line, don't walk away. The chai is worth it, and the meal at the end is even better

All the food was really good and really worth the hype. We ordered the poppadoms, Okra fries, onion bhaji, Chicken thighs, Paneer curry, Garlic naan and rice and we couldn't fault any of it. Really busy and great atmosphere. Service was fast and the staff were really attentive and helpful. I will definitely return.

Exceptional food with impeccable service. Went in on a very busy Saturday that was also valentine’s day, with no reservation I didn’t expect to get a table, it’s great to see a restaurant staff not turning away anyone, without trying. I have been to so many chain restaurants, where you can tell the staff have no motivation to serve anymore customers than absolutely necessary, but not here, we were very welcomed (had to wait at the bar) but a table came available pretty quickly. Our server was Mishi, he was polite and knowledgeable about the food, spice levels and ingredients. The food was amazing, butter chicken was hot and creamy with quality meat that fell apart without being chewy and the Prawns were some of the best I have ever had. Watching the staff busy cleaning tables and serving food you can see they are a great team, I went to the bathroom before leaving this is where a business can let themselves down, but they were all clean, not broken locks and fully stocked paper and soap. we were greeted as wonderfully as we were leaving as we were when we arrived. Great experience at Dishoom Canary Wharf. The food was full of flavour — especially the Black Daal and Okra Fries, which were outstanding. Lovely atmosphere and stylish setting. Service was friendly though a little slow when busy. Slightly on the pricey side, but the quality and taste make it worth it. Would happily visit again.

Dishoom is hands down my favourite place in London for proper Mumbai street food. It never misses. The bun maska with chai is pure comfort, pav bhaji is rich and nostalgic, and the vada pav always hits the spot. This time, I was pleasantly surprised by the pineapple tandoori chaat, so good, perfectly balanced and packed with flavour. The paneer rumali rolls were another standout, soft, smoky, and super satisfying. Beyond the food, the ambiance, the vibe, and the service make the whole experience special every single time. I honestly go to Dishoom every other weekend, and that’s not changing anytime soon. Absolute favourite.

We had a wonderful meal at Dishoom, Canary Wharf! The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, and the service was warm and attentive. The chaat was bursting with flavour, the masala fish perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection, and the halva puri was an absolute treat. The chef’s special lamb dish stood out — rich, tender, and beautifully balanced. Every dish felt authentic and thoughtfully prepared. A memorable dining experience we’d happily repeat!
